I've been an enterprise customer for years, this was the worst experience ever. Claudia Orzechowski provided us the worst customer service, was disrespectful and completely unhelpful. I traveled down from Boston, Ma with my entire family to North Carolina for the 1st time and this will probably be the last. We rented a full size vehicle and she didn't have it available upon pick up and wanted us to take a pick up truck. I'm traveling with a 1 year old, my wife and her elderly mother. We have luggage, baby seat, carriage and we explained to Orzechowski our situation and that our personal belongings would get wet if it rained as stated in the forecast and she said deal with it. Enterprise should be embarrassed having employees with this horrible level of customer service and disrespectfulness. We even had a rental we were returning at the airport Claudia failed to tell us we could return it with her and another employee told my wife we could once I was practically at the airport. She failed to tell us we could have kept the rental we were in and honor the full-size price as it was not our fault they didn't have it available upon pick up and she did not. But besides that tried to charge us almost double if we kept it, but wanted us to take a pick up truck for the same price (make it make sense). So Claudia Orzechowski can put us in a pick up truck from a full size but not a crossover we already have insane. A check engine light and an overdue inspection sticker brought me and my aging Audi to this neck of the woods. What brought me to Enterprise RAC was a lack of available loaner cars at Cary Audi (formerly Leith Audi) for my service. Instead, they offered up a free rental car as my "loaner" here which was fine - although I was secretly bummed that I didn't get a fun, newer Audi to test drive in the interim. This particular Enterprise rental office is tucked away in the Hendricks Cadillac Collision Center, just to the left of the entrance check-in desk and lobby and down a hallway with a few offices. Dont worry about memorizing the layout esp. if you were picked up by the free shuttle. They'll direct you exactly to where you need to go to get your rental car. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: When I walked in, the first thing that caught my ears was a disgruntled customer yelling at the guy behind the desk. Not good, but I felt bad for the guy as he was trying his best to be polite as ever. Basically, the exchange had something along the lines of "Are you taking me for a fool?" "I'm not saying that, sir."....Seriously felt like I walked on the set of Goodfellas or something and Ray Liotta was about to come in and whack all of us down. Ugh. I was just starting to regret my decision to come out here so early in the AM. THE PROCESS: Check in with a representative. Make some small talk. If he has you in their system (which he did in my case), it goes a little bit faster. The guy finds some cars and then you and he inspect it, sign the rental agreement, waive/agree to extra insurance, and drive off. As a note, when you do the inspection, they carry around a size "gauge" that is essentially the size of a golf ball. Anything smaller than that is not considered worth reporting. And...FWIW, the counter guy went ahead and marked up some scratches I didn't notice at first anyways. PRICING: This was my "free" loaner car from Cary Audi. So in my case, the insurance coverage was extra and my responsibility. Word to the wise, save some bucks and get a rental coverage put on your personal auto insurance which covers everything these rental car companies advertise except perhaps lost income due to time in the shop. But, if you want peace of mind, it's $19/day for the full coverage. I opted out. SOME RANDOM OBSERVATIONS: 1. For the record, I'm not usually a huge fan of Enterprise just from past dealings. They just seem to be a bit chintzy when it comes to damages on their car, inspecting etc. And I've always preferred places like Hertz.....but that being said, this location seemed to have their act a bit better together based on my single experience....but based on what I heard at the beginning and from what other reviewers have said (i.e., Ann H.), it sounds like it can be hit or miss depending on who you get. 2. On selection choices, mine was low the day i came. I really had the choice between a Silverado or a Caliber. I just opted for the small car. Do yourself a favor, if you drive something better than a Caliber....get something else. That car was dangerously skittish on the freeway and wet pavement. 3. Lastly....more of a pet peeve of mine, but why the hell when I decide to decline the extra coverage do I have to hear this "are you sure? It's not you I'm worried about, but other drivers out there" comment??? That single comment alone annoys the crap out of me and is why I'm docking them down 1 star to a 3 star rating. I hate that typical sales tactic and find it insulting to me to think that..."oh you're right, I'll change my mind now...thanks for bringing that to my attention". Seriously, this is one of the reasons I hate dealing with rental car places....they seem to want to cross that weird line between a car salesman and your friend - both of which they are not! [Sorry for the rant] OVERALL: Based on my SINGLE experience here, this location seems OK. I'll have to update otherwise. Just realize that it is a rental car office....bare bones. Selection, staff and attitudes will vary from day to day like most places, I'd imagine. The good thing is that they are connected to their national system. So if you are a returning customer, they'll have your rental record/history on hand which makes it go slightly faster. Lastly, there is free wifi in the center. 3 stars. read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Car Rental Near Me - Cary, North Carolina

Enterprise is one of the few car rental places willing to pick you up and drop you off from their rental location without making you feel like you've caused them a grievous inconvenience. It's one of the nicer perks of using them. This particular Enterprise location is near Cary Auto park so they seem to have a better selection of cars than most. Overall, I've rented from Enterprise several times over the years from various locations. They can run hot and cold on customer service, usually in spurts one way or the other, when it comes to having your reservation on file or your car ready, but when they're "on" they really do a nice job of getting you in and out on the road quickly. This location was a great example of the latter. On the down side (not applicable for this location), in two instances the car I rented ended up with a flat tire -- once about five miles away from the rental place where they were very quick to come to the rescue because there was no spare tire, and the other time on a busy stretch of an interstate near Chicago where the highway patrol won't let a civilian change a tire on the freeway for safety reasons -- they weren't so quick, then. The Enterprise store did apologize profusely and gave me a discount on the rental for the inconvenience. I wasn't mollified then, but can appreciate the customer service aspect of it more now. In other words, if you stay local in your drive area you'll probably be okay. If you want a better selection of cars, this location will have it. read more

This place is the worst to rent a car. They are arrogant and rude. A kid named Sam works in the rental department claiming to be a manager but is nothing more than a jackass. He hung on me after his office messed up my reservation and left me stranded at the auto shop without a car! This place is the worst!!! I'm still waiting over a week now for the regional manager to give me a call since corporate said they would be in touch within a few days but never did. Always quick on the spot. I have used Enterprise a few times and what great service, quick and courteous.

We needed a rental car for six weeks, waiting for an ordered new car to arrive. At the time of rental, we were told that the initial rental would have to be for one month because they "wanted to see the car" prior to extending the rental. Prior to the 4 weeks being up, I called ahead, reminding them we needed 6 weeks and was told there would be no problem extending the rental at our same rate. We drove only the rental car for the 30 mile trip on Tuesday as we were expecting no issues given the advance telephone call. They looked at the car, closed our current one month, and then wanted to charge us 46% MORE for the additional 2 weeks since "we were now on a new rental period and you're now on a weekly rate." Enterprise website clearly states, "The longer you rent our cars, the cheaper the rate." THIS IS A LIE! I tried calling Enterprise and was told a regional manager would call me back. NOBODY CALLED! (Another LIE). So we had to drive 60 miles round trip twice to return the car. Therefore we would NOT recommend renting from Enterprise, and especially would warn anyone from dealing with this misleading Enterprise location!!! read more

I rented a car to drive from Raleigh to Indiana. The route went through mountains in a winter storm. The car had bad wiper blades, no wiper fluid, and was mechanically a nightmare. Something in the car kept popping like a something was binding up. The car ran so poorly I only got 19 mpg in a 2015 Chevy Sonic. I had to stop and buy wiper blades and windshield fluid. I called NINE offices to help me get a safe car that operated properly and I had ONE 450 miles from my departure location that said they had a car they were willing to help me with...without charging me to switch....that office was closed 10 minutes before I could get there. All offices told me if the car broke down they would send someone to get me and change cares but it would cost me a roadside assistance fee. I did make it to my location in Indiana it took over 50 gallons of gas one way to complete the trip in an economy car that other rentals have made on 20-23 gallons of fuel round trip. Because the car was NOT mechanically sound and all offices told me they could not help me because they were booked. The next day I finally found an office to get a swap after noon... I had an 830 am meeting that I went to. It was 7 deg outside and had snowed the day before. As I drove down the road the low tire light came on indicating a right rear tire was low. It had gone flat. Once again your road side assistant operator insisted she charge me 60.00 to send a truck that could take up. To 2 hours to reach me. I was NOT happy and changed the tire myself. LAYING in the mud in trousers, sweater and loafers in snow and slush. I dropped my cell phone out of my pocket in the slush. When I pulled off the tire it was FULL of tire plugs one has completely fallen out and another was hanging loose. I got the swap car although it ran and got 42 mpg on the way back to my point of origin, it was definitely a downgrade with not so much as cruise control. Toby in Crawfordsville Ind did all he could to helps out. (He always does) The team where I rented the car did wave the rental fee but I wasn't reimbursed for having to buy my own windshield wipers and fluid or the insane amount of gas I was forced to purchase because the car didn't operate properly, or the ruined clothes. I appreciate the small token if rental fee wave. But I feel no one but the Crawfordsville team was even concerned. I had to drive that car through the Smokey Mountains in snowy rainy weather and if that tire had blown out there it could have been fatal. I very disappointed with this rental and the lack of customer support. I was told to contact the company through the website to submit receipts and would like to know where. I since was relieved of the rental fees at the point of origin and was told to turn in my receipts for fuel, ruined clothing and car parts I was required to purchase to safely operate the vehicle and was never reached out to by Enterprise parent company for over a month and a half. When someone finally did respond it as to tell me they never received my receipts so there was nothing they could do to reimburse me for my losses, but that I could have my next two rentals half off. Funny thing, I reserved another car by phone 13 June for a trip 1 July to 5 July and told the reservation call center worker about it was told there was a note in the system but needed to talk to her manager on how to enter the discount. After being on hold for over 45 minutes I hung up and managed to get through to my local center where I was told that only a 5% discount was applied, but THAT should have been automatic from my membership discount ( or whatever it is called) and that there were no other notation now in my account and the codes were missing, there was now nothing they could do regarding the matter. Even more odd was when I called customer services and wrote my letters I was sent an email begging me to share my experiences with a Yelp Review. As you wish. read more

15 minutes ago HORRIBLE!!!!.....I reseved a car (compact car) 2 days prior , so the day of my trip a guy at the counter says he has a nissan sentra. As he gets the KEYS he leaves then returns and says he only has a mini van. I asked, "really?.. no that wont work for me" he leaves again then says i do have a sentra. He asked if i would want the insurance. I explained that i booked the car through orbit with the insurance. He says that hes not familiar with their policy but that i might be able use it but that he would need my current insurance and would have to call. I question whether race had anything to do with the hassle i received. None the less it was totally pointless to even reserve a car to still have the hassle. The car that was 'ready' for us was not clearly ready;items by driver were left behind and the car seemed dirty.The car wash system was also down that day. However, when Chris( the representative) also agreed that this car wasn't ready,he said another car had just been returned and we could have. We had to wait a little longer about 25-30-minutes. Fortunately this was a causal road trip and not something we needed that had time constraints. We received the car;and had a great mini-road trip vacation. The car was wonderful;we received a free upgrade for the wait;and Chris was kind,friendly and honest. Used to rent from this location but after a few adventures - not having the correct car (strike 1), and then no car at all (strike 2), while enduring total indifference by staff (strike 3) (where do they find these guys?), decided they didn't deserve my business. Called manager a couple times, but never received return call - (strike 4). I would definitely use this location again. The staff was top notch. They location was busy each time I went but the staff worked quickly and efficiently. Although the worked quickly, they were sure to make sure each person received proper service. My only complaint is that when I arrived I was looking for a large Enterprise sign and no one mentioned they are inside Hendrick Collision. Overall, this place rocks!! read more

I got rental car here at Enterprise as my car was hit by someone and was in repair . while taking the car I showed the small dent with minor scratches to the representative .He said he noted it but when I returned the car today he didnt recognise our discussion and they charged me 500 dollar collison deductible . I am regular hertz customer and renter car from them frequently as i travelled monday to thursday for years . I never has this problem even once . This was first time i tried enterprise and at this location and they charged me for dent which i was not responsible for . They also took my insurance infomation before even renting the car .May be they knew before hand they will take my deductibe money . I tried hard explaning them with no results. Had called them, spoken with representative and discussed locations and confirmed pick up, gave day, time, address etc. Currently still waiting for pick-up an hour and a half later. When I called they said oh you need different location and gave me number. Had no explanation as to why had not called me. Worst customer service ever. Then after finally talking to person at supposed right location, they abruptly say I can't help and then transfer me to corporate. Really?? After on hold awhile I finally talk with location who say it will be 30-45 min picking up. I'm now late and still waiting at body shop. Never use Enterprise in Cary!!!! read more

Worst customer service ever. I had to wait for more than an hour for them to pick me up from Gerber Car Collision; which is like just 1 mile from their place. After multiple calls and being told they are on their way to pick the customer up; no one turned up. I was delayed to pick my daughter up from her school as a result of that. I typically don't write bad reviews, however, having rented cars all over the country and traveled all over the world, my experience at this Enterprise location was terrible. I was sent here by a car dealership for a loaner car after my car was taken into the shop for repairs. First red flag, the woman in line in front of me was given a car with an expired plate. Second red flag, I was offered the rental insurance at Enterprise, which I wanted to waive since I have good car insurance coverage, was only using the car for two days, and not going to be driving it that much (if at all) since this was a secondary car. The agent insisted I had to purchase their insurance to the point that he got into the rental car with me and pretty much wouldn't let me drive it off the lot until I agreed to purchase the insurance (which he said I could cancel after the first day). Third red flag, the check engine light came on within seconds of driving it off the lot. Consequently, I called the dealership told them about my horrible experience at this location and am being given a loaner car from the dealership directly. To make matters worse, when I returned the car this morning, there was another woman there talking to another agent very upset. As she left she looked at me and told me to "be careful".I have dealt with Enterprise in other locations before, as well as Hertz, Alamo, and National and have never had as bad an experience as this. I am SHOCKED that a location that caters to a lot of high end dealerships and repair shops is allowed to run such a shoddy, sleazy, used car salesman operation, but I will NEVER rent from this location (or probably Enterprise) ever again.
