    I reserved a 6 day rental through the app weeks in advance. When i arrived i asked the salesgirl Lauren what were the additional cleaning routines they had implemented in addition due to COVID-19. She began to name off the list as we go around the vehicle. As i got in the car and drove off everything seemed fine, but less than 2 minutes and i noticed an ant crawling up the computer. I smashed it & then a baby spider crawls up. I smash it, head home to load the SUV. LESS THAN 20 minutes into our drive, the computer starts malfunctioning, beeping/flashing/turning on heated seats & back to main screen. It did nothing when we tapped it & was a major distraction when driving. I called & alerted staff, he apologized & advised to turn car off for 5 minutes & restart. We pulled over & did 3 x's until it reset. A FEW mins later there's an ant crawling above my Mom's head. We rushed to smash it + 5 more. I called & alerted staff, he apologized. Later, 2 more ants +ladybug all crawling over my Mom's head and the ladybug fell on her. We later saw dried spit or snot on front panel & a glob + smear marks of teriyaki sauce or blood on driver visor. LATER on there were more ants crawling on a chips bag. I threw the bag outside & used my disinfectant wipes. THE NEXT MORNING, we ran an errand and when we got in suv I looked down and saw well over 50 ants crawling all over the floorboard & panel. I grabbed my wipes & wiped them off. Then I saw what can only be described as an entire colony of ants on the mat. They WERE EVERYWHERE! I used more wipes. I WENT INTO a store a few mins. Got back in car...more ants. More wipes. I'm LIVID!!! I called, alerted staff, they advised me to switch out cars. When I got to the SC location to switch out, I told them a/b ants & they were quick to get me out the car. AS I WAS getting my stuff there were more ants all over the floors The staff were in disbelief & said they gave you a DIRTY CAR. FAST FORWARD to the car return I called this branch and asked to extend it for an additional day they replied "No worries, take your time, we'll take good care of you and we will see you tomorrow." When we arrived [6/30/2020] to return the car Lauren informed us the final balance was extremely higher then the original She began to "explain" that they compensated the additional day for me as a courtesy due to "the conditions [THEM GIVING ME A DIRTY CAR] the original vehicle was in." But, I would have to pay $78 + taxes/fees b/c I arrived 8 hours (same day) past "return time." THE MANAGER KYLE [was no help at all] came out and "explained the extra charges & fees" the numbers didn't add up at all. I asked him where I should forward the video and photos. He said he didn't need them. My mom also showed him the ant bites on her foot but he just brushed her off and seemed too busy & completely uninterested. [Staff had previously said they would like to see the photos and videos] Kyle never once apologized, listened, made eye contact with us or anything we were explaining to him. His main focus was collecting more money while keeping his eyes fixed on his tablet screen, arguing the charges, ignoring nor listening to our concerns and experience. WE ARE RATING THIS BRANCH AN F DUE TO THE FOLLOWING ~RENTING A DIRTY, UNSAFE SUV ~RENTING AN ANT INFESTED SUV ~LOST 4 HOURS SWITCHING OUT ~MOD KYLE DISPLAYING POOR LEADERSHIP AND CUSTOMER SERVICE This is inexcusable & unacceptable & poor service and should never happen EVER Period.

The problems I had came when I went to the location to extend my reservation. The agent had no sense of urgency. I even called the customer service line while waiting and that rep was not helpful. She tried to convince me that the location may not have been open that day; although I read off the hours of operation on the door. The people that worked for Toyota provided me with better customer service making sure I was okay while I waited for Hertz worker to arrive. They even offered me coffee and made conversation to ease my frustration. I am not say I will never use them again but it will be a while before I do.

The passenger front blinker didn't work. The high beams didn't work, and the low beams were projecting 7 feet out in front of the car. The hub on the passenger rear was screaming most of the time. It was 100% a car that shouldn't be rented to people. Now here is the big kicker. I came to this company because enterprise has over booked and did not have a car for me. This seemed like an easy solution to me needing a car for the weekend. I originally rented the car from Friday to Monday and had to extend it to Tuesday. I had to cashapp them the money witch was no problem, this is a cash rental place anyway. The lady comes out to inspect the car and everything goes over smoothly. We walk back into the office to get my deposit and she takes a gasp and says well you took it out of state so that's another $107 and you were told that when you rented the car. I was not told this at all because I could have just went to the airport and got a car cheaper at that point and I wouldn't of rented from them. This total this POS car cost me 481.50 for 4 days. They are running a shady business here. I will be reaching out to the BBB about this, and I'll never recommend them to anyone. She gave me my $43 after she took $107 out of my deposit and locked the door when I walked out. If that doesn't sound like someone who knows they are screwing people over I don't know what does. Scam artists!

Pray that you have no problems because if you do, they will not help you. To add, I received very rude responses that were highly unprofessional, and even after being proactive and diligent reporting issues with a vehicle that was allocated to me. Only one representative was helpful in the very beginning who told me she notated my account and that after my rental was over that I would be compensated for a defective vehicle. I spoke to another representative who confirmed that they saw the notation and had instructed me to report this onto the website and also guaranteed compensation. After doing so, I waited over a week to get a response, saying that they were not going to assist and that there was no notation. It's highly convenient that they make it so that there is nowhere for you to call and no one for you to speak to. I am escalating this matter to another email address and hoping that there is a resolution, but I am also reporting this whole interaction and contacting my credit card provider to make sure that they also have eyes on the situation. Renter beware.

I was upset, but the manager told me that he could upgrade me, but I would have to pay $186.00 more, no other option. Avis's policy in that situation is to provide the upgrade at no additional cost. Left with no option, I paid the $186.00 more with family waiting. On drop off a week later, I overheard a customer faced with the same situation with no other option other than to pay upgrade. The manager walked away as she cited Avis's policy. Not a coincidence her report confirmed problems at the location. As a lawyer, I did not think this was a coincidence. Happy to hear documented evidence of similarly situated customers. I am not happy and don't want to let this practice continue. The whole process took over an hour and at no given point the stuff was trying to help, the only way out was to pay the difference or lose the prepaid reservation.
