The car is also dirty. scuffs on the ceiling, dirt in between the seat... but its a cheap company so I roll with it. The most annoying part is when I get back from the trip and see I was double charged for highway tolls when I specifically put my EZ-Pass up and made put their EZ pass in the correct, unable position. It took 2 months to get my money back and the only reason why (I belive) I got it back is because I threatened to sue; they did not answer my emails/calls previously to that message. I UNDERSTAND PAYLESS IS CHEAP, BUT IT IS A SCAM. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR I GUESS.

Didn't give us any details on the car she was giving us, and wanted to just get it over with. The car (GMC SUV) had already done about 35K miles but made a really loud sound at speeds higher than 40mph. We had to blast the music in the car to drown out the sound. Agent at return (Richmond airport) was courteous but of course he turned out to be a crook. He was all smiles and handed the receipt saying I would not be charged anything additional. When I got home I realized he charged an additional $3.99 for fuel even though I had filled up to full just before i returned the car at the airport (the gas station is at the airport). The fuel charge was calculated on the basis of a difference between 15.6 - 15.2!!! It is quite unbelievable the lengths this company will go to make an extra buck. Since it's $4 I will not be fighting this out. But rest assured I will never rent a car from you again and will make sure I spread the word about your terrible service.

I had a very frustrating experience at the Budget location on Wood Avenue in Edison…read more I made a reservation in advance through Budget's official website and called ahead to verify that my driver's license would be accepted. I provided all required information upfront and was told everything was fine. However, when I arrived for pickup, I was denied the rental due to a "location-specific policy" regarding probationary licenses. This policy was never disclosed to me during booking or in my prior call with customer service. I was assisted by Sam at the counter and later spoke with the manager, Bobby Sabharwal. While I understand that policies may vary by location, the way this situation was handled was disappointing. When I asked for clarification or simple written documentation explaining the denial (so I could report back to my company), I was repeatedly interrupted and told to "have legal follow up," without being provided any immediate documentation or support. There was little effort to listen or offer a solution in real time. As a result, I was left without a vehicle after traveling to the location for a time-sensitive, work-related obligation. To be clear: I verified eligibility before booking I showed up with all required documentation I was still denied service due to a policy that was never communicated This reflects a breakdown between corporate booking and franchise-level policies, and unfortunately, the burden fell entirely on me as the customer. I recommend that anyone booking here: Call the specific location directly Ask detailed questions about license requirements Get confirmation in writing if possible There needs to be better transparency and basic customer care in situations like this. No one should be left stranded after doing everything correctly on their end.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I had to book a round trip from central NJ to Newark airport and forgot…read morethe name of the car service we used previously. My wife was at work, so I couldn't ask her to remind me. I called MetroPark on April 3rd for a pickup on April 4th and spoke to 'Sid'. He seemed like a nice enough guy although he couldn't seem to either hear or understand what I was saying part of the time. He told me what the price would be for the pickup at our home and for the return trip, I gave him my credit card info and email and he said I would be receiving an email or text confirmation. By the morning of April 4th, I had still not received any confirmation but what I did receive was an almost $400 charge on my card from them. The agreed upon price I got on the phone was $120 each way. I called the main number back at 8:10 am on April 4th, got a different person, told them I had not received confirmation and asked why I was charged so much extra. He was rude and condescending, said it was sent and that I should check my spam email (which I had already done prior to calling), told me the extra fees were for gratuities and other expenses and added that I shouldn't book them if I can't afford it. Keep in mind that this comment comes from a semi-literate working at a taxi stand. Needless to say, I emphatically told him to cancel the service and hoped this would be the end of it. I then called my bank to give them the heads up about these charges as I would be out of the country for over a week. They explained that the charges were still pending, but I at least wanted it to be on record that I contacted them immediately. As I write this on April 13th, the charges were still on my card, so I filed a fraud complaint with my bank and the charges will be taken off. Also, we went with the car service we had previously used and they were honest, charged less, had a clean, new car and were top notch. Even our driver was a pleasure. To summarize, it is much easier to be an honest company who treats their clients with respect and good service than a vampiric parasite who tries to cheat honest people out of their money. You are only hurting yourselves in the long run through loss of business and reputation. MetroPark, are a few extra ill-gotten bucks really worth it?

1 Star is too much Avoid This Dealership…read more This was one of the most frustrating car-buying experiences I have ever had. I visited this dealership fully prepared to purchase a vehicle and was kept waiting for more than two hours. I gave them a second chance and returned the next day, only to be kept waiting for another two hours. The complete lack of respect for a customer's time was unacceptable. What was even more concerning was what happened when I was ready to finalize the purchase. After discussing the price and preparing to bring payment, they suddenly added approximately $5,500 in additional fees. These charges were not presented transparently from the beginning and completely changed the deal that had been discussed. The entire process felt misleading and unnecessarily complicated. Instead of providing clear information and professional service, the staff came across as rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Simple questions were met with poor communication, and there seemed to be little concern about earning or keeping a customer's trust. Buying a car is a major financial decision, and customers deserve honesty, transparency, and respect. Unfortunately, this dealership failed in all three areas. I strongly encourage anyone considering doing business here to carefully review every number, every fee, and every document before signing anything. I walked away feeling that my time had been wasted and that the dealership was not operating in a way that puts customers first. I would not recommend this dealership based on my experience.
