I've rented from this location twice now and both times have been exceptional, thanks to the great customer service from Josh and Asia. They were both super accommodating for our rental, helping secure us the specific vehicle needed for our trip. It ended up being an amazing car that we fell in love with! Rental cars can definitely be a hit or a miss, but the two we've gotten from here have been clean+tidy, relatively new and had no issues when driving long distances. Had rental GMC Terrain 7/10/23 to 7/2.0/23, from Costa Mesa Ca. Location on Harbor Blvd. And was very pleased with everyone at this location. It was necessary to extend rental add a day several times, due to unforeseen delays with my auto which was being painted. The staff was always courteous and helpful throughout the rental period. Please avoid renting vehicles from this location at any costs.....unless you are or have a professional vehicle inspector!!! As someone mentioned on this blog they will become your headache. When I returned the vehicle, they claimed a damage UNDER the driver's side mirror where a reasonable person could NOT possibly detect (see picture). I was told to look for obvious places for damages. I pointed out some scratches and dings around the car before taking the possession of vehicle with 36k miles but he didn't bother to mark them because he said they don't count. I was shocked at the returning when they said I damaged their car. The lady who checked me in told me I should had used my hands under the side mirrors to detect any cracks prior to taking the possession of their rentals..that's how she checks for damages under the side mirrors. Why didn't anyone from Enterprise inform me of this method prior to taking their car! I was fierce. I repeately told the manager I didn't caused the damage and there are doubts it could had happened before me. He collected $100 and was told to deal with their claim department. If I don't pay $100.00, the location manager threatens me to forfeit $500 which is my deductable. They already assumed my fault and accused me of abusing their rentals. The damage could have easily missed by their employees from the previous returns. This accusations by the branch manager made me extremely angry. As most of rentals from this location, it was too a loaner vehicle from the dealer because they ran out of theirs. I have been engaging the dealer and my insurance company to deal with the claim. The credit card company has coverages to deal with this type of incident but loaners are NOT covered because I wasn't paying for the rental. The dealer has instructed Enterprise to credit the $100 after bring this to their attention but the branch manager said to deal with his claim department who will make the decision to reimburse the money once dealer pays for his alleged damage. What is going on Enterprise? I have been renting for over 2 decades and never heard of ridiculous claim like this. I don't have choice when comes to getting a loaner from auto dealers but definitely boycotting during our business or personal travels. Consumers, please be aware you have the duty to check the rentals for any damages regardless of places you may never predict. Please take pictures and videos of under the side mirrors and under the car too. How come Enterprise doesn't have to prove with pictures that damage weren't there? Why they make me feel like I have the burnden of proof when they brought the claim against me? Regardless, big headache! You won't know where they will blame you next!!!! read more

ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE GOTTEN FROM ANY RENTAL COMPANY. Fiat took me to this Enterprise on Harbor while they were fixing my car. Enterprise made a very wrong assumption and charged them for the rental, and fiat avoided the charge. Long story short my account ended up getting hit with the charge 3 months later without anyone at Enterprise telling me they were going to charge me. I went to them and they are the least helpful rental company I have ever dealt with. Manager, Bradly (bradley) is incredibly rude over the phone, actually hung up on me, and does not honor his or his companies agreements with regards to an overcharge (179$ for a single day rental? Less than 80 miles put on it?) No way to treat a customer. Absolutely atrocious customer service. After a reaching an agreement, he charges me the full amount anyway. Spend a week trying to get any sort of contact or support from the company. Screw it, dispute the charge and let my banks fraud department and the BBB handle it. Enterprise acts like they care but clearly they do not. That manager should not be interacting with customers in any way. He is a detriment to the company, and if you look through the reviews huh, no surprise he's the cause of most of the bad ones. Absolutely avoid this company, and this location. Awful service by Branch Rental Manager, Ali Mirzaei. We had a service agreement through Carmax that had been honored in the past by this location for $50 and every time it hasn't been a problem, until today. Ali tried to not only collect an extra $350+ AND collect on the insurance claim. This is not how you do business. Like we said, every other time it hasn't been a problem, we've even accepted a jeep that literally had parts falling off, but yet Ali wants to claim that we made a request for a xlt Yukon...thats a lie. As we explained our side, he literally stood there acting as if he was superior...again, not how you do business or treat people. First time renter with Enterprise because it was right next door to a collision center (I normally rent from Avis/Budget.) Came here on a weekday. First impression: 1. I was told Enterprise was coming to pick me up in a "few" minutes. Instead I waited for 30 minutes and had to repeatedly call them for a status and offered to walk my ass over. But it wasn't until I mentioned that I will be late to my meeting (since it's in LA) that they responded almost immediately. So, my time as your customer is suddenly valuable now? 2. Car that came to get me smelled of old diapers and vomit - even the driver agreed. Great and befitting scent to remember the company by. 3. When I arrived, they said that they were STILL CLEANING MY CAR. RLY BRO? Add additional time. 4. When inspecting my vehicle via iPad (ooh so hi-tech) the iPad battery died. This was at 8:30AM. Aren't these things supposed to be kept charged overnight so they can be USED to serve CUSTOMERS the next day? Add even more time. 5. Even the silver lining was of cold comfort. They upgraded me from a full size to whatever the next tier of car is. Why? Because they were "out of full sizes" so I get whatever is next. Not because of compensation for the terrible experience I've had as a customer. Now I'm really late to my meeting. That I am hosting. THANKS, ENTERPRISE! I just feel obligated to leave a review. I'm telling you right now, please do not go to this place. I had an outstanding balance of a couple hundred bucks (which was not a problem before, especially considering I dropped well over 15 grand in car rentals between the two establishments on Harbor in Costa Mesa). This company sent a notice for the vehicle that I didn't even know existed, towed the car illegally from a private lot without authorization from security, never contacted me prior to or after the tow, and then my personal belongings went missing. I had a real 10k gold chain, 100 dollar plus trail running shoes, an expensive Buck hunting knife, camping gear, etc. All just POOF! Disappeared. Then to top it off, no one still, to this day, has contacted me about returning the keys to the vehicle. Instead, they just charged me 400 dollars extra for miscellaneous fees associated with the account there. I'm not even going to get into the managerial aspect of the company and how poorly they treat their customers, just don't go here. If you ever have listened to anybody, ever before, please don't go here. It is not a good place. They had one previous manager at the other facility that did an excellent job and I had a good repoire with, yet they fired him! I live in Irvine, CA and usually go to airport location of Enterprise to rent a car but this time because of collision incident I had to go to Costa Mesa location because I drive Honda and Honda dealer is right in front of this "2855 Harbor Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA, 92626" Enterprise location. Man, the vehicle they gave me smells like a super stinking. Someone who rented the car before me probably smoked lots of cigarette. I initially thought car was locked /unused for long time that's why it's smelling like this but when I used the car in the evening to go to home from office I was not in the position to drive. He dismissed small damages as not being big enough to be an issue (he even used that stupid ruler to show me it was smaller than the circle guide) and didn't even record it like I asked. Then when it came time to return it they made me pay for the whole freaking windshield due to a small star on the driver's side THAT WAS ALREADY THERE WHEN I GOT IT. I made this guy come back out and inspect it upon return since Monica checked it instead and he missed it AGAIN!!! Then the manager Brittany looked me dead in the eye and said three times that it was IMPOSSIBLE that he could have missed it even though homeboy did it again just moments before. What's annoying is that even though they stole $200 from me, they still proceeded to bug me about it in the mail multiple times even though they already had my insurance information (which they didn't even need). On top of this, I witnessed them mistreat the customers before me because they were from another country and didn't know how to secure their deposit, argue on the phone with someone checking to make sure their car was going to be there during their reservation time (because this is a known issue), and have to shuttle a customer to another location because they simply didn't have any cars available despite the guy having a reservation. No greetings when she came pick me up at a dealership, no hello or how are you, are you Mr./Mrs./Ms.?? Nothing! Extremely unprofessional and made me feel like I don't want to deal with her, but unfortunately she handled my paperwork and walkaround of the rental. She should be working in the back washing cars or something because she's not the type of a person who does well with people. She also dressed too casual I would send her home if she'd show up to my work like that. Ok Let me just throw out some disclaimers first: MOST of the people working here were extremely helpful. Anyways. I have rented with Enterprise for years, and have never had a problem. I also book car rentals for coworkers, and have never heard complaints from them. That being said, this enterprise location is having some problems. I am not exaggerating at all about this, I pinky swear. Someone hit my car, car is being worked on, the other persons insurance rented me a car at this location. I got a Hyundai and it WREAKED like cat pee. So bad I had to come and trade the car in.. and you know what, I felt bad doing it but I couldn't stand the smell. So i go in and yes, they are more than happy to exchange the car, the customer service was great, but then they put me in this PT Cruiser that smells like pee (human this time). WTF??? Seriously I'm not a comedian I couldn't even make this stuff up. It smells like pee. Seriously, screw this. I will never use this company willingly again. They get stars because they were prompt and had my car waiting, and gave me a very small break on the deposit. They were also friendly upon checkout and helped me out when their automated system tried to charge me for 3 days instead of two. But. The car I had smelled like skunk on the inside. Yea. I said it. Skunk. Not skunky weed. SKUNK the animal. It's disgusting. They also only send you off with 1/4 tank of gas....what the hell? It's bad enough having unexpected and expensive repairs being done to your vehicle and having to get a rental car just to be able to get to work and back, and then on top of that, Enterprise decides it MUST take a deposit directly out of your bank account (if you use a debit card), and it HAS to have the money NOW. Instead of just keeping your card info on file and charging it if there is a problem, which I think is more fair. If they insist on this deposit (which is supposedly refunded to you 24-48 hours after you return the car - I think it should be INSTANT if they are INSTANTLY going to take it out of your bank account), they should at least send customers off with a full tank of gas and a car that doesn't smell like skunk. I have used the company before (for similar circumstances) and I also think they should give repeat customers a break. Maybe make the deposit $50 instead of $100-$150. I found a great deal on a rental car here on-line and when I showed up to pick it up, the guys in the store were really friendly and fun! James was a really great employee to work with- he made renting the car a quick and easy process, gave us a few options for cars, and covered all of the "fine print" details that we needed to know. He informed us about the insurance policies, the gas policy, roadside assistance, and anything else we needed to know. When I called back a few days later to ask a question about my rental, he remembered who I was, and was just as outgoing and helpful as he was on the 1st day. This was the worst experience I have ever had at an Enterprise. I called in the morning to reserve a car while our car was being repaired after an accident. Was told they didn't have any cars until 1:00, so I arranged my day accordingly. I dropped my car around the corner at the body shop, and they called Enterprise to come get me. And 15 minutes later, they called again. And 15 minutes after THAT, they called yet again. And 10 minutes later, the guy finally showed up with all sorts of excuses. I could have walked there, on my hands, quicker than these guys came for me. So, we get to their office and the guy tells me I can't have the car yet because it wasn't clean, and he needed to wash it. It was clean enough, but he insisted, and 20 minutes later, he presented the car, which looked worse than before because he didn't dry it well, so it was all spotty. The car was presented with 1/4 tank of gas, which is ridiculous. Why in the world wasn't the tank filled?! Laziness, that's why. They ran a $100 charge on my Visa card, "for security", even though this was handled through our insurance company. 15 minutes after I left their lot, I got a phone call informing me they still had my credit card, so I had to return to pick up my card. By this time, more than 2 hours have elapsed since I dropped my car at the body shop. My afternoon was pretty much wasted. I returned the car this evening and got to wait for quite a while for them to process the return. And even though I had called ahead and asked how long it would be for my $100 security deposit to be returned, and was assured they would refund it immediately, I got a total run around and had to pitch a fit to get the credit issued. Ridiculous. Lastly, they asked how my experience was. Seriously? Not great. Is there anything we can do to change your opinion? Sure, do you have a time machine? Really impressive service with this location. Had to rent a larger vehicle with a 3rd row because my Yukon XL was in the shop at a nearby dealership. I couldn't get a loaner from the dealership so they contacted the folks at Enterprise. Once I went inside I was greeted and helped pretty quickly. They didn't have a vehicle in the lot that worked for my needs so they called around to nearby stores without showing any hesitation. They found me something nearby that worked perfectly and it was a slam dunk in/out deal. I can only speak from my own experience here - no problems with the pickup or return and most importantly no waiting around. read more

Horrible. I had a reservation today that was VERY important for me. I showed up in the morning with my wife and 4-year old in the car, and they informed me that there was no car available. "But I had a reservations and just talked to you guys last night to confirm." The guys behind the counter just shrugged their shoulders. Their excuse was that many people don't show up for their reservations, so this location will give their vehicles to the nearby dealerships whenever they need a car for one of their customers, even if it's already been reserved by someone else. So, just be aware that, for his location, reservations are pretty much meaningless and you need to call them before you drive there to pick up your reserved car. After my car was rear ended, I needed a rental car for 25 days while the repairs were done. I requested a car that was similar to my own- a BMW 325i. What I was given was a Nissan Rogue (an intermediate SUV). I asked to switch cars after a week and was told on Thursday that I would get a call back by same day, close of business. The call never came. I checked in each day until Sunday and was told that I would eventually get a call back. On Sunday my own check in call resulted in an acceptable swap. However... When my car was ready for pick up at ICC Collision in Santa Ana, I was told that Enterprise would pick the car up from the shop for me. I called this Enterprise to let them know where I was dropping it off and the agent told me "I don't know where that body shop is". I told him its location and he said "that isn't my branch". I asked him if he could direct me to the right location and he told me "that isn't my branch so I can't help you... But best of luck with that". I tried to call back to speak with a manager about his horrific customer service and nobody answered... Not surprised. Should've read the reviews first..... Was told I was getting the VW Passat, had leather, keyless entry, smelled fine. While inside filling out paperwork, a rude guy working there grabs the keys and says "thus isn't their car"..... Our guy said "yes it is". The guy looks at me and says "We gave you a free upgrade".... Uhhh ok?! Whatever I just want to get out if here. This whole thing is unprofessional and annoying. Passat leaves the lot, I'm escorted to a beat to shit Chevy Malibu, free upgrade? You meant downgrade. Dents, scratches, dings, etc. has me sign paperwork next to the car, and hands me keys. Upon getting in I now notice a chip in the windshield, less than a 3/4 tank of gas, smells like cigarettes (I'm pregnant. Disgusting), back seat stained and filthy, visors look like someone was grabbing them with greasy muddy hands, no floor mats just filth. And since it was closing time there weren't other cars, and quite frankly I just wanted to get home and not deal with traffic. I will never rent from Enterprise again. I suggest you head to Hertz across the way and see if they are any better. read more

This Enterprise SUCKS! Dropped off my car this morning expecting to get a shuttle to the shop where my car was repaired at (about 4 miles away) and was told sorry but that was out of their area. AND I should have gone to another Enterprise which covers that area. When I pointed out that they were still the closest of the three other Enterprises, it was still a no go. I asked why they offered to pick me at my house in Huntington Beach (7 miles away) and she had no answer. What gets me is why they didn't mention this when I picked up their car. They had asked me then where I was getting my car repaired so they knew from the get go. So if you need to rent a car . . . Go HERTZ! read more
