I booked a car in advance they gave me the total with tax and all 186.34 I only needed it Friday an sat but you can't return it Sunday (well you can but you still charged till Monday) because that makes great sense!!! But so I get there and they tell me the total is 543!!! Would be nice if they put that with the price when I booked it But it's $300 you get back when you bring the car back. So total of 543 when the car should of been 186. After returning I find out another rule they do not tell you and I'm only getting back 181 so for a car for 2 days cost 365 so prettt much 175 a day for a piece of shit car!!! Anthony Mottola tried to kick me out after finding out I complained about a vehicle I rented that he gave me had a strong smell of marijuana. His customer service as well as his branch manager Dominic was absolutely detestable. # Enterprise car rental. Please re train these two individuals who lack customer service skills. Was quoted $15 a day for basic insurance coverage, but I was charged $17.95 a day. That's a difference of $47.20 in a 16 day span. When I asked about why I was quoted $15 a day, their response was "people like round numbers, so they round it to $15". I honestly feel like this isn't fair business practice. I feel dooped. Update: They charged me $160 now... SAMANTHA (the manager) tells me that she will contact Allstate and if they don't agree to pay it back, she'll refund it. She never called me back like she promised. Instead AMANDA calls me back stating she told me about the charges when I first rented the car, which is 100% not true. She argues with me saying she told me everything before hand and then claims that she texted SAMANTHA and now they're denying ever stating they'd pay back the money. I had a great experience at this location yesterday. Although it started off bad, when I got a phone call stating that although I made a reservation (within 24 hours) online, they didn't have any cars available at that location. After being frustrated & calling several other rental places, it seemed that all local rental shops were experiencing the same problem. When I called this location back, the gentleman I spoke with was super helpful, kind & courteous. Put me in a nice car, at the same rate that I originally had for my reservation. I really needed that! They were life savers! It was a rental for less than 24 hrs, but they came in clutch! I totally enjoyed my experience renting with this location and will do it again. read more

I am a nurse, who was traveling back and forth to Massachusetts to assist with Covid outbreaks. I was using Enterprise in Deer Park to rent a car to get me safely back and forth. In the beginning of December I rented a new Catillac SUV as it was getting cold and the roads were icy. The car has very few miles on it, approximately 20,000. As I got to Massachusetts I saw the oil light pop on but thought nothing of it, as they promised all required service had been completed prior to rental. I had no further issues until my drive home, when I was heading back on I95. I had pulled over to get something out of the back seat so I put the car in park. When I attempted to get back on the road the car would not switch gears back into drive. I was stuck. I called Enterprise for assistance but was told I had no roadside coverage so there was nothing they could do. I was forced to call my insurance company to come tow the car to the nearest Enterprise, where they switched the car out with a Chevrolet Malibu. I returned the car the next day, where there was no apology or attempt to make things right. I was told by the tow truck driver that it was most likely due to lack of proper maintenance, either transmission fluid or oil. I asked Dom, the manager of the Deer Park location to please call me when they knew the cause of the break down. He said it would be a few days because the car was in another state and they had to inspect it. I tried calling again about a week later but still no answer. I was told the regional manager would reach out to me to discuss what had happened. Well, that was almost a month ago with no response from ANYONE despite multiple attempts to contact them. I am beyond disgusted at this point as my concern for how this situation was handled was completely disregarded as was my safety the day this incident occurred. read more

So far I'm not liking them much. They were closed on the weekend when I really needed a car. When I stopped in the store there were no workers in there for about 40 minutes! They left the store completely unattended. Now they gave a vehicle and I'm not happy with the way it's riding, I think it needs a wheel alignment and maybe brakes. The person on the phone seemed to barely be listening to me..let's see how this turns out..Ok it got worse..I kept calling and asking for another car..they said that they would take my name and number and call me when a different car is available. Even if it is as little as a $6 waive on a car they will not do it. I know there are rules and regulations but come on. As much business they get. Enterprise Rent-A-Car - No one there to help. - Car Rental Near Me - Deer Park, New York

BE CAREFUL _ THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS. First of all - when I called to make a res, I explained I would be using my debit card. When I got there, they had booked multiple reservations under my name and billing address (for other customers). I had to make them cancel the other reservations that weren't mine. So strike one - They had reservations under my name and address for other people's car rentals. That alone seemed suspicious. When I went to pay for my actual rental - the woman told me the charge would be a $250 hold on the debit card. I specifically asked her if that was the full amount. She assured me it would be - I asked specifically because I wanted to make sure my account was okay - I even transferred in money to make sure I was fully covered. But then she tried to use my debit card to charge me for other reservations which weren't mine. Let me repeat that - she was charging my debit card to pay for reservations of complete strangers. I had to call my bank and reverse the charges, and I made Enterprise fax over a letter saying they were canceling the first authorization. Strike 2 - At this point I am pretty annoyed, but I needed the car and honestly, its been 20 minutes and I am invested here. I really should have just left. These are 2 really big "mistakes". I would like to think they weren't intentional - but after what happened next, I can't. After the bank phone call, she tells me the price was now going to be higher than she told me just 10 minutes earlier. I literally asked her the amount - it was $250 hold. Now its over $300. They needed to charge me MORE all of a sudden. And now she needs a copy of a utility bill and a pay check stub - which I have never heard of before. Keep in mind - she was happy to charge my card without needing those documents (my card already went through once) - it wasn't like it got declined. The lady I made the res on the phone with never said I needed any of that. The email confirmation didn't say it. In fact - even the crook behind the counter never said anything - not even as she was CHARGING MY CARD TO OTHER CUSTOMERS RESERVATIONS!!! But NOW she needed that pay stub and util bill information. And I find it fascinating that after (1) booking other cars for other people under my name, and then (2) trying to pay for those cars with my card (they were already paid for by Geico, BTW - she was charging for cars that had been paid for), and after not needing these stubs before, she suddenly needed them now. These scumbags were so blatantly attempting identity theft and to scam me. I left. I was not going to stay. Be careful - they are fucking crooks at this location. read more

Rented a car for the weekend of oct 29/30 for special rate from deer park ny location. The sales rep kept on telling me to get insurance from them I know better I didn't need it because I am cover from all state and my credit card. Plus was going to drive my kids to school and back and didn't even put 30 miles on it for 2 days. Up on the return of the vehicle another person inspected it and told the menager the vehicle had hail demage. The weather was 72 and sunny at one point it did rain but we know better no hail!! The car parked in the garage. They forced me to sign a damage paper and said they will be claiming from my insurance. Scam artists. Rip offs. Obviously I understand they were not making any money on 19.99$ rate a day but with no mean I would ever expect to hear and experience such treatment and being scammed. I have called the central office to make a complaint which was over a phone call and someone from general office was suppose to contact me. Of course no one did. I am so frustrated and sick to my stomach. Absolutely horrible and filthy place. The car was stinky and dirty in and out. Would never deal with this location or company again. Stay away !!! If you look at the car you see absolutely nothing however if you band your head side ways and look you could see little dints here and there on top of the trunk and only half the car and at time of insection I didn't pay attantion. The worker kept on showing me sides and inside and not the roof. And said anything with in an inch of a circle is ok not consider demage. And here I am dealing with scam artists. I agree with Meg. These guys don't get enough credit. I wanted to rent a minivan for the 4th of July weekend so I can take my family (wife, kids, parents, and brother) on a little road trip. I went to a competitor first but they had nothing available. With about a week's notice, Enterprise came through with no problems. Makes me wonder what their competitors are doing. Chris and Evan called me the day before to confirm the reservation and the morning of to inform me the car had arrived so I could pick it up anytime. When I finally arrived to pick up my minivan, they were nothing but courteous, professional, and very friendly. I wasn't a big fan of the light tan color of the minivan but hey, I can't fault these guys for that ;). The vehicle was clean, fueled, and had a pleasant surprise of a DVD player in it! Anyone with kids knows this is a huge plus! And when I returned the car, it was all smiles again asking me how my trip and 4th of July weekend were. We've used Enterprise quite a few times in the past, including this particular branch and never had significant issues. But unfortunately this latest incident will mean an end to any of our future business. I booked a reservation on line for my daughter who's 22. I included her age in the reservation and was quoted a price of $137. Given that they asked the driver's age, I assumed it included the underage driver fee that's in effect in New York. To be sure, I called Enterprise a couple days later since I didn't want my daughter to have any problems. I gave the agent the reservation number, he looked it up and said yes, the reservation includes the underage fee. My daughter picked up the car with no issues. When she returned it, there was a $73 underage driver fee. She complained and went back and forth with the agent who put a "hold" on the charge and said they'd look into it. When she later told me what happened I called and a woman named Samantha got on the phone and said she was the manager. Quite frankly she didn't seem to care one bit about my concerns. She said a refund of the fee would not be issued despite everything I told her about the online reservation (her response: "well maybe there's something wrong with your computer) and what Enterprise's own agent told me over the phone. I had also told my daughter not to buy the insurance and warned her that after she tells them no, they'll still push for her to buy it. Turns out, that's exactly what happened. She said no to the insurance. Samantha told her she should get it. My daughter told her that I had paid for the reservation and advised her not to get it and Samantha replied "yeah, my dad tells me that too," but that she should still get it. Really Samantha? I know your job is to up-sell, but it doesn't bother you at all pushing a young customer into buying something they told you they didn't want? Another 75 bucks Enterprise took from us. Anyway, I'm filing complaints with various agencies and am asking corporate Enterprise to issue a refund or a future credit. It amazes me how foolish managers and even entire companies can be. You have a repeat customer who has spent thousands of dollars with your company through the years who's expressing very legitimate concerns about a fee that's been charged and you're willing to just dismiss those complaints, further frustrate your customer and sacrifice what would've been much more business in the future. All for 73 bucks. Fortunately there's quite a few rental car companies in this area besides the Deer Park Enterprise and my advice would be to pursue them. read more

So disappointed with Enterprise. I will never go there again. I was told that my insurance will not cover dents or scratches on the car. I had taken the accident insurance because the staff member kept telling me that they will go after me if I didn't take the enterprise insurance. This was the second time in five weeks that I rented from them and again I had problems with the car. Their customer service is good but, they do not do a good job with servicing their cars. Not only was the back seat covered in chocolate, the maintenance light came on after they were already closed.
