This Enterprise location: DUMFRIES 17481 RICHMOND HWY DUMFRIES, VA 22026 (703) 221-2525 Has probably the worst customer service ever in any industry given by an older white man working there. He is totally rude and disrespectful towards all customers and employees, to include my family. I stopped by earlier this week, on Wednesday 10/29/2025 to be exact. He abruptly interrupted a young black lady who was already helping me; apparently he wanted to assist me and basically told her to finish what she had going on and that he will "take care of me." Well, as he proceeded to verify my details, his questions didn't make much sense to me; especially when I was told to pay with a credit card. I told him I have a debit card and that I had never had any issues in my life as faithful 20 year Enterprise Customer. He insisted that I use a credit card vs a debit card, so I asked him why he keeps asking; so he said that in order to travel to Texas I would need to provide a card. I said, yes I am going to Texas but I am not driving this car to Texas. I said, my itinerary says it's from VA to Washington DC AP. He didn't bother to read. Well, he then got more upset cause he was wrong and wanted more emergency contacts, so he forced me to provide additional family members information for security reasons and that if I couldn't provide that information he wouldn't be able assist me at all. As he keeps being rude and loud, causing a scene. A younger asian teen comes in and gets behind me on line, he disrespects her too and tells her to "Go take a seat over there, I'm busy and this might take a while!" My autistic 7 yr old daughter started crying because of his rudeness and my wife had to take her outside to calm her down but had told me to just do what he says because we needed the car today before our personal car gets picked up by our Auto Transportation Company. So, I proceeded to keep calm as much as I could because of time constraints. If I was alone, I would have yelled back at him and filed a complaint on the spot. Please check on this employee, if he is having a rough time of his own; we have it worst at times with stress and trying to meet timelines during our military moves. Great customer service! There were 2 ladies working. One of the ladies Ashleigh was on point. I think she may be one of the managers. It was 3 of us waiting. Ashleigh was on the phone.The other young lady was helping a gentleman. Once Ashleigh was off the phone, she jumped right to me and was handling the other two at the same time! Thank you!! Sometimes it's not always so friendly and fun renting cars. These ladies made check in FAST, Friendly, and Out the door! This place has the worst customer service. Came in already the branch manager had the worst attitude didn't even greet you with a salutation. Other employees were just sitting at the her desk on their phone. The branch manager had an attitude, I had to stop the conversation and ask if they were ok. The other male employee had looked at me in a threatening manner that he was in a bad mood. I know it's a Monday morning but these folks did not want to be there at 730am. Branch manager claim he "usually" has a bubbly persona. I did not get a hint of that what so ever. The Woodbridge branch on Opitz road is definitely more welcoming. Speak to Chet. I booked a small van online but when I turned up it was a bigger van, having never driven a larger van I was really nervous, but Ross in Dumfries gave me the confidence and assurance I would be fine, he was super kind and patient with me, a real credit to Enterprise. Due to having to pay slightly more to cover extra insurance he gave me the diesel free so tbh a saved money. He phoned later in the day to check it had all went well, true customer service. This location has a business killer called Parker Tully. I was disrespected as a customer by this guy for questioning his decision. I had to wait for about 5 days to get a car and left my work to the branch only to be told I should go get a car somewhere else because I challenged him. As if this heighten disrespect was not enough he posted my name on a group chat for me to be denied a car at other locations. I believe I was treated this way because I was a person of colour. I strongly don't believe he would have treated his fellow white person like he did to me. When I demanded to talk to a manager he arrogantly said it's me. Enterprise needs to replace this guy before he runs down the location. He is very arrogant and does not respect customers and will drive them away. read more

Had a rental reservation for months here and received a great rate, so we booked it. We've called multiple times leading up to the date of pick up to confirm the reservation of a van or large SUV. The night before, we are informed they may not have the correct vehicle, but are working on the situation. I was told I would hear back that night or next morning for an update. I did not. I arrived to pick up the vehicle and find they do not have a correct vehicle for me. They have one and it's too small. My only option then is the Enterprise shuttle van. Its not here currently and not ready. Matt, manager here told I would receive a voucher for 2 days credit off my rental for the issue. I'm hoping that they will honor it. Very frustrating, but as long as I can get a vehicle I reserved and get my family where we planned to go for a reasonable rate, we're good. I reserved a car online, got a phone call immediately after letting me know what I would need to bring and what time I should come to pick up my car. When I arrived at enterprise the next day I was told that because they couldn't link my card to my address they would need 2 forms of supporting documents before I could rent a car. The miscommunication is frustrating to say the least and there needs to be more clarity provided to customers so this doesn't happen in the future. read more

For the most part this place/experience is cringe worthy and I would totally sway away from going to this location. I normally don't write reviews but I have to send a BIG thank you to Treyon Crawford and Mache Turner at Enterprise. I was driving home from VA to TN and my brakes locked up on my truck almost catching on fire. I was able to get my truck to Napa Auto Care for service but it would take a week to get it repaired with the parts having to be ordered. I contacted Enterprise and Treyon and Mache could tell that I was little stress not knowing if I would be able to make it home to TN. They were very professional and explained to me that I could rent the vehicle one-way and turn it in TN. Treyon prepared the rental contract and brought the vehicle to the front. I was able to get back on the road and making it back to TN safely. Mache and Treyon, you both ROCK!!!! read more

His professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile made my day. I have rented a vehicle 5 times this year alone from this location. Always friendly even on a busy Saturday with cars in and out. I always Uber there and I have seen them transport other customers with an Uber even though I prefer to do it myself. Great cars and trucks and they follow up to make sure I am happy with the vehicle. Walk in the door and they know what I prefer to drive. Never been disappointed! read more

LATE. Slow. Unable to get a car you expected. They also do not offer free pick up and drop off on the weekend, which is what they advertise online. That was our first impression. Like all rental companies, they attempted to soften the criticism by offering a free upgrade on a future rental. No happening. I have two stars because the attendant was cordial. This is my worst experience in a long time. I made this car rental reservation at least a month in advance for a 5 pm pick. I get a car that is just turned in and barely washed . After 15 mins of driving off their lot the check engine light comes on and I rented the vehicle to going out of town that evening. I immediately call this location and drove back to the location, no answer and employees had left for the day. I call the roadside service and I'm on hold for 45 mins before a rep picks. The rep that answered was nice and took my information. She placed me on hold while she checked other locations I could go to, to exchange for a comparable vehicle. She come back on and advise there is a location 35 mins away for the exchange. Within a hour of this call we drive to this location to are told we can exchange this full size CAR for a MiniVan!!! That is beyond ridiculous!!! Needless to say, I returned home in cars with check engine light on,. The representative at the exchange location was so rude! This 5 pm reservation turned into 4 hrs, because now it is 9pm and with NO practical resolution. This caused so much stress, frustration, wait of our time and delayed our plans! This location should have properly serviced the car and not have been in such a rush regardless of it being their end off day or don't allow end of day reservation if you can properly ensure a SAFE VEHICLE!!!! This location is more concerned with speed of rental than the actual customer service. I rented a vehicle on the Friday before Christmas. The rep was cordial explained there would be a held placed on my card for $100. I understood that no problem. I had a State employee discount that was supposed to be in the range of 150.00 for the 4 days rental. Long story short. I tell the rep after seeing their Collision insurance I didn't want it my credit card company would. The alignment on the car was HORRIBLE. I drove from Virginia to New York completely nervous. I parked the car and took public transportation in NY. No real use of the car. Tried to get a swap. That did not happen of course Holiday weekend. Came back with the dud of a car only to hear that the price on my contract is now more than expected and....I supposedly got a discount of 1 day from the manager. Thanks. My bill is way more than expected because the rep did include Collision. Why can't we get a printed contract to review like the good old days. They literally are rushing you out the door. I refuse to accept this service. I will take my business elsewhere. If I could give zero stars I would. Tip...check everything before you leave the lot. If the car does not feel right...return it immediately Do not let them tell you they'll send you the contract before you leave the lot read and confirm. Never again. read more

Very slow it toke them 1 hour and 30 min to pick me up from my location which is only 1.5 miles away and takes less than 15 min. Every time I call them to ask how long until someone picks me up they stated "some on is on there way" I end up waiting extra 30 min. I like to rent from enterprise but this location sucks at there service. read more

Let me preface that it's unfortunate that I signed up just to write this review. Upon calling the branch and booking my car in good faith, I found out the day of the reservation that I could not be picked up at the time I had originally been told. Apparently, I had been given misleading information by what I was told was a "third party" when the lines are busy. They only provide pickup from my location on Saturday mornings apparently.... Once finding this out and trying to cancel my plans i.e. an unchangeable hotel reservation, I sought reimburesemt for the mistake and was met with them blaming the third party. Story goes, you need to press the "*" button to speak to the actual branch. Which I find odd, especially since nothing states that. I don't know that. In aggregation, they don't know who this third party is. This led me to call Enterprise's customer service which was more than helpful in telling me the number I called was the actual branch and to speak with the branch manager. To my luck, that is who I had been speaking with.... This was confusing as I was being given different information, even if the manager told me the third party takes the phone when they're busy...confusing information I'd say esp when customer service says otherwise. Bottom line, make sure you are very VERY explicit with this branch as it seems to be that this is a common occurance from what I was told and nothing is changing apparently. Plus it's always nice when the branch doesn't even offer any incentives to draw me back to the agency, no free future car, or even upgrade, or anything. I am seriously reconsidering ever using enterprise again. read more

Dennis is great, I have rented many vehicles from that location and they are the best. They have helped me so much, it's hard to get good service but they give great service, can not say anything bad. I am so happy to have excellent costumer service and they care about you. They pick me up and it not a long wait. They and honest and really listen to you. You can get that these days but they are awesome. read more

I initially reserved my rental at the Quantico Enterprise. When I dropped my car off for repairs, the Dumfries Enterprise came to my rescue and transferred my reservation. Everyone who works there is friendly and willing to assist. I was in my rental and on my way in probably less than 5 minutes. The repairs on my car were completed faster than expected. I dropped off the rental and they quickly took me to pick up my car. I wouldn't mind doing business with them again! read more

This was an excellent experience. It started with a quick check-in, car was ready and I was back on road in less than 15 minutes. During my trip, the car (Hyundia Sonata) performed flawlessly during our 1700 mile trip. We're even thinking of purchasing this type of car now. The office was closed when I dropped off vehicle, but I was promptly called the following day verifying that the car was received and asking me about the trip, car performance, etc. Overall, this was a great experience with a rental car and I will continue to use this Enterprise office, not only because its close to my house, but more so for the friendly service and excellent support. read more

After dropping off my car I waited outside the building for my ride maybe a block or so away and a employee walked outside and asked me if needed a ride back to my house. This place is unbelievable!! My parents got into an accident and had to get a rental for the meantime. The service at the beginning was good but when it came to the condition of the car, we had to take it too the car wash to do a FULL CLEANING (stinks inside they didn't clean the inside of the car). I needed to rent a car due to an accident not long ago. I rented the car from a different location but was able to return the car to the Dumfries location which was right across the street from the body shop where my car was being repaired. The service was quick and they insisted on driving me across the street (a large busy road) even though I told them I didn't mind walking. They truly wanted me to be safe. Needed to rent a car to see my niece graduate from college that was being held in Baltimore, Maryland on a Saturday. I didn't want to rent the car for the entire weekend so I was very pleased when I didn't run into any problems with enterprise about getting the car on Friday and dropping it off on Saturday. When I arrived at Enterprise about 11:30 gave them my name did a check of the vehicle and I was outta there by 11:45...no problems fast and efficient...no problems with the drop off and no problems or surprises in the final cost.
