What happened was our plane arrived late and the Agent at the Avis counter ran out of cars and left for the evening. I booked a reservation and did not receive a notice that there were no cars. Us and another guy were stranded in the airport. Thankfully, an agent (or angel) approached us and said they have a car (Challenger) if we want it - YES! Checking out was easy and the guy next to me was getting his car too. Service was excellent and I would give it six stars if I could. More importantly, we got a very clean and zippy small car (Mitsubishi Mirage) that took us to Florence and Terwilliger Hot Springs and back to Eugene on just one tank of gas. I chose Enterprise over slightly cheaper competitors due to their reputation for better customer service and I got exactly what I hoped for. read more

Employee was nice but now I have been calling all day to contact them and no one answers, hold, hold, hold and then hangs up on me. I'm trying to switch out the vehicle I received with a different vehicle. I have contacted customer service and they said all that they can do is send an email to the location to call me back and nobody has called me. That was 13 hrs ago. Customer service states they can't see the inventory and can't tell me which location has a car to switch it out with. They told me I could drive down to the location and try to switch out the vehicle. Why would I waste my time on vacation to go stand in line again for a vehicle that they might not even have!! If I could give Zero stars, I definitely would. Having reserved a car ahead of time, we went to the counter to pick up and when we went to pay, they said my card was declined for insufficient funds. They refused to run it again, and it was the only card I had. So, I had to get a cab ride to my destination, 2 hours away. You can imagine what that costs! So Since we reported the prior damage to the counter person with time/date on the pictures we took prior to driving off the lot, they went ahead and reported the damage to their "Damage Unit" and are trying to collect from us! I cannot stress enough about reporting ANY damage prior to taking car off the lot. Get the counter person to view the damage, take pics of them looking and record any verbal conversation and get in writing before leaving lot. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL LOCATION Racial/age/gender profiling?..........Given wrong directions.... So booked a rental through Costco, got a good deal. Counters are close to baggage pick-up and parking lot, but hey! It's a small airport! The female behind the counter explained everything correctly, (except where the car is located) tried her hand of up-selling, offered us 2 choices of an available vehicle. Then told us to go all the way down the building, following the green wall. ALL THE WALLS ARE GREEN!! We went down to the end, went out the door to the left as she stated, that took us to the employee parking lot.....NO RENTAL CARS THERE!! Half hour later we found the lot, there are no visible signs (they're knee high) indicating rental cars. We also found an Asian couple wandering around too, same directions. When we returned to drop off keys and explain to her the mis-information, her reply was, "people get confused". The exit door is 15 feet away....The cars are in the facing lot, on left, first 4 rows, with signs at bumper high indicating the space # Note, take pictures of your vehicle for any damage and dirty conditions prior to driving off. When returning, they will not inspect vehicle, you'll have proof of the damage was already there with the time stamp on your pic info. read more

We rented a 2020 SUV that displayed "oil pressure low" after a day of driving around town. We were on our way to the airport (to try to swap out the car) when our vehicle died at a poorly lit freeway interchange. Luckily, we were still able to pull over to the shoulder. The rep asked if we could walk to safety off of an exit. I did not want to put everyone in danger by walking on the side of the freeway at night while holding all our stuff. Quite frankly, we couldn't even see one. We had to figure out our own way off the freeway. THEY DID NOT PICK US UP... look up their slogan. After some time, we finally get to the airport. The first replacement vehicle they gave us said "check engine oil." We go back inside showed them the message. The rep assured us that the oil was changed that day & probably not reset. After the night we had, we didn't feel comfortable taking it & she understood. Get to the third car... Turn on the car, "check engine oil." At this point it's 11something pm, we're hungry, we have people stranded at an Ihop waiting for us to get them. We take the car. Came back the next morning waited to change our for a similar sized SUV. We had to wait a bit since it was a back to school time. THEY STILL CHARGED US FULL PRICE FOR THE RENTAL. We rented a midsize car and received a beat up Corolla with about 50,000 miles on the clock. The car had so many dents and scratches that we were afraid we'd miss one with our initial inspection and later on being made responsible for it. Dropped off my rental. She asked if the rental was okay. I said yes, other than the Malibu isn't a full size car. She then preceded to argue with me. I stated that a Chevy Impala or a Ford Taurus is considered a Large Car. She then retorted that a Taurus is a Premium car, I informed her I've been in the automobile business for 30 years. Rule #1. After a long day of travel the last thing I wanted was to have to deal with getting a rental car.....Enterprise to the rescue! Seriously this is one of the best rental experiences I have ever had. Located near the baggage claim, as I walked into the area I saw nobody in line so I thought I would try to get this taken care of while I waited on my bags. Great choice. Friendly and knowledgeable, they took care of me quickly. Don't remember what I was scheduled to get, wasn't super thrilled about it though. Without needing to ask they offered a free upgrade to a Nissan Frontier. No brainer, much better then what they wanted to give me I jumped at the upgrade. Also, they let me know there was no need to fill the car up with gas and I could return it on empty and there would be no charge. No argument from me since I would be returning at like 4:30 am and don't need any additional stops. All rental cars are located in the first parking lot to the left when you exit the airport. Easy to find and quick exit from the airport. Return was easy as well. They weren't open yet, but they had directed me where I would be able to return the keys. Small drop box just outside the entrance to the airport, yes I said entrance (singular), this is a small airport. Keys dropped off and totally happy with the experience. We rented a car from this location in February of 2022. We returned the car without incident. It is unusual to not have staff check in/ check out your vehicle. That can create problems as it did for me. The car we rented ran fine and there was NO damage upon returning the vehicle. However, we received notification that there was extensive front end damage a few weeks later. Photos show pretty severe front end damage, which was NOT the case when we returned the vehicle. Like the last reviewer, it looks like we are being unfairly blamed for damage to the car AFTER we had already returned it. read more

Had a bad experience with a rude young lady (Emily) at the counter. From the start, she didn't greet me or smile, snatched my id and credit card, never made eye contact and even snapped at her coworker while I was waiting for her to finish assisting me. Adding insult to injury, once I walked outside to see the car, it was old looking and crummy. I asked for another car and she cut me off saying she'd already offered me an upgrade. I was so disgusted and annoyed, I just cancelled my reservation and went to Avis. They were friendly and gave me a good deal. No one wants to deal with a nasty attitude... I did call to complain and luckily the manager atleast heard me out, but I certainly hope to never deal with Emily again. read more

Let me start by saying that my low rating is due to my experience as a whole. For the most part, the employees with whom I interacted were very nice people and I have no complaints about them specifically. I do, however, have complaints. I booked my car almost a month before my trip so it was irritating when I arrived and was told I'd have to wait for a car to be available. The wait was about 20 minutes, so not the end of the world. I get to the car and it is in bad shape. Scratches on the back and the sides, big dent in the trunk, stains on all of the seats, side mirrors knocked off-kilter. When I open the door, I am overwhelmed by the smell of chlorine and bleach. It appears the seat stains were even worse before and someone was trying desperately to make the car presentable. It didn't work. I turn on the car and notice the tire light is on, so I got back inside to let them know. The polite and friendly girl at the counter tells me there aware but that they've fixed the issue and it'll just take a few starts for the light to go out. In my experience, that's how the Check Engine light works and not at all how the Tire light works but hey, I've never had a Kia before so maybe they're different, so I take it and drive off. My stay was for 3 weeks. After a week, the tire light is still on so I call to ask what I should do. The polite and friendly gentleman tells me they have no other cars in the same or similar class available but that I can take the car to any Firestone or Goodyear, tell them it's a rental from Enterprise, and get everything taken care of. That's pretty bad form, to ask your customers to take your vehicles for maintenance that you couldn't manage to complete before handing over the keys, but I had to make the 2 hour drive to Portland and wanted to make sure I could do so safely, so I agree to take it. I get to Firestone and tell them it's a rental and even they're surprised that Enterprise made me bring it myself but they immediately notice the tires seem a little low so I sit in the car as they put air in all four. Sure enough, the tire light goes off as they're filling the front passenger side tire, proving it does not take multiple starts to make the light go off as I was advised. So if you want a car that's in far worse shape than what you drive at home, arrives late, reeks of bleach, and has problems you'll need to deal with yourself, I'd absolutely recommend renting from this place. I travel a lot for work and I get to choose which rental company I use, so I've already booked a car from a competitor for my next trip. read more

My review is specifically for Sarah Squatrito, the Assistant Manager for Enterprise at the Eugene, OR airport location. On September 13, I rented a car to drive to the coast. Once I got all my belongings (including my phone) loaded in the car, I realized I had locked myself out of the car with the keys sitting on the driver seat. All the windows were rolled up tightly and there were no spare keys available. Sarah walked with me back to the car, called several different companies as well as an onsite handyman to help with my predicament. She was kind and very professional, and stayed with me until the company came to unlock my vehicle and my treasured possessions. I got the car at Eugene airport drove all the way down to Roseburg about an hour and a half south. I pulled in the hotel because there was a strange noise, and I saw I had a flat tire. I called Enterprise and she managed to get a tow company to come get the car and take it to a nearby tire place. They were done changing the tire in about an hour. The woman at enterprise, the tow company, and the tire shop got it all done in less than an hour and a half. Good as new, and I was on my way! Everything should be that easy. read more

The Enterprise phone system is a series of unhelpful automated dodges that seem to have the sole purpose of keeping you from talking to a representative. Several times it actually teased "I will transfer you to a representative" followed by an incoherent series of questions and transfers to more automated B.S. A simple F# Y!, we don't take calls from customers would have been more helpful. read more

Oh my goodness, I normally would never want to complain over something so minimal when renting a car. However, this is when an exception needs to be made. I reserved a car over a month ago, had the set time and date. Arrive to not have any vehicles available for a wait of 20mins. Not a huge deal, we just got off a plane so I could stand for a bit. He finally gives us keys and says "Oh, I think it's parked over in spot 84?" To walk out to the car parked in 96, smelling of cigarette smoke and having ashes in the backseat!! Not to mention scratches all along the outside of the car... To pay 630.00 for this. No. So, I went up to the clerk and let him know. He sent us out to the parking lot alone again only to have put us in a vehicle with the maintenance light on, and even dirtier than our first car... I've rented cars through enterprise for years. How could I tell my boyfriend the price was worth it with this kind of "service." I am still waiting in the parking lot for my boyfriend to hopefully return with keys to a clean (even partially clean), working vehicle... Is this so hard to ask of a rental car company?!! read more

I have found Enterprise employees to be very helpful and friendly every time I have used this company. I have a couple of problems with the Eugene airport branch - The wait to get to the desk can be long when there's only one person working. I reserved a small/medium car. He didn't have one available, and wanted to put me in an economy (smaller) car. He said no when I asked to be upgraded to a slightly larger car for the same price. I had to wait 20 mins while a small car was prepped that had just come in. The rep didn't tell me the check-in procedure for returning the car, so I wouldn't have known to write down the mileage & parking spot # before returning the keys to the desk. The parking area for returning the cars is very small, and I had to go around the completely full lot three times before finding someone pulling out of a spot in a section marked for a different rental car company. By that time I was worried about getting checked-in on time, so I would have double parked the car if I hadn't found the spot. If you can get a cab from the airport to your destination, it's cheaper to rent the car at the downtown branch instead, and have them pick you up at your location to take you there. I believe you can then return the car to the airport. Double check that, just to be sure. read more

First, I talked to someone on the phone, at the local office on 6th Street. I made an appointment to pick up a car at noon on Saturday. I asked to be picked up as featured in all their tv ads. Guess what? No one available to pick me up. So we drove down at noon. Guess what again? The office closes at noon on Saturday so when I got there for my appointment, they were already closed. You would think they might have worked that into the same conversation when they told me they couldn't pick me up. We ended up having to drive all the way across town to the airport location. Turned in a car clean and filled up the vehicle with gas blocks from the airport with no issues at the time, then 4 MONTHS later I get a charge for $512.41 with no explanation from Enterprise. Took me weeks to get anyone to respond, never would send a detailed bill, finally got Nissa on phone to explain it was for a "dirty" vehicle, gas, and they charged me for every day it was out of service for cleaning! I never turn in trashed vehicles and no one to this day will get back to me with proof of receipts on the cleaning or gas they supposedly spent on this. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and Oregon Attorney General as I cannot stand fraud. read more

I was offered several different makes of cars and asked if there was a Japanese model car as that is what I'm used to and he said yes, but it hasn't been washed yet, it's just come in, and I said I'll take it washed or not (it was raining so who cares.) During this time there has never been an instance in which I haven't witnessed the manager(Alex) and his team doing something to go above and beyond in there service to me or other customers. It was a nice vehicle but did not have the cargo capacity of the minivan. Carrying four golfers, their luggage and sticks is no chore for a minivan but puts a real strain on any SUV other than the extended models like the Suburban. read more
