I recently rented a car for just one day. And since I had enough points for a free day, I used it to take a trip out of state to be with my Ma after her heart surgery. It cost me only $.94...that's less than a dollar. Obviously, I had to supply a $300 deposit, which I got back. So, the morning that the rental was due to be returned, I called to ask if It was possible to keep the rental for a few hours longer than scheduled. I spoke to Joey at the Roseville, MI location where I rented the car. And He told me to just have it back before they closed. That's 6 extra hours he gave me. On my way back home, I was running late due to an accident. I then called Enterprise, and spoke to Joey again and I told him that I wouldn't make it there to return the rental before they close. He then allowed me to return it first thing the very next morning at no charge. I could not believe how well he treated me! I felt so guilty. I got a rental for like 2 days for less than a buck! The service I have received from Enterprise has always been great, but Joey's attention to every need was just impeccable! He should get a raise in pay!!!! read more

My auto insurance reserved a car at Enterprise, after my really bad accident. I missed their call from Aaron, the representative, due to my condition. When I returned the call to reserve my rental, Aaron became very insulting because I missed the call. I requested a courtesy pick up and Aaron told me that I had to call back to check the location of my pick up the day it was promised. My pick up never arrived, and Aaron never answered my calls made that day. Corporate should monitor this representative's behavior, because I really feel he was being condescending and racist. I will never rent a car from that location because of his rude behavior. And I will make sure all friends and relatives are aware. He should lose his job. read more

We rented a car for a several weeks to have some repairs on a car after a bad accident. We were given a Nissan Sentra. The car seemed fine for the first few days, but it just stalled out on 8 mile and not in a safe area of Detroit, east Detroit. It was by a Savalot, late evening. We called enterprise and they actually told us to leave the car and leave the keys inside. We warned that the car may not be there when they come to retrieve it, they said it was fine. We had to get picked up by friends from the lot and left the car and keys reluctantly behind, but relieved to be leaving such a lemon behind. That car was the worst and brought back nightmares of the Nissan Sentra I was driving during college when it stalled out on warren road, deep in Detroit and none of the lights would work in it either. Looks like the lemon back then lives on still today then. The good part is they had us go to the RO location and we got a better vehicle to drive for the next few weeks. read more

The worst experience ever. I have been an enterprise user for quite sometime in every state I have lived. I was renting a car for over a month, due to an accident totaling my car. After my coverage ran out, I continued to pay for the same vehicle. I kept in contact but due to a banking error, they were unable to charge me. Let's keep in mind the $200 mandatory deposit already set aside for "charges" The amount of time I had the car incurred program points I'm certain would have covered the 100.00 dollars you couldn't pull during the mishap. Instead called the Wayne County Theft Division on me having me pulled over and almost charged with Grand Theft. I'm sure if my zip code was different that wouldn't have been the protocol. I am truly appauled at the behavior and the poor customer service I experienced today after renting a vehicle for over a year with this enterprise location. Whatever you do avoid renting from this location rent from every other location but the Ferndale location. They have a employee that is absolutely dreadful to deal with. Her name is Amber and she goes out of her way on a day-to-day basis to make everyone's Life a nightmare. She hates that she's a black woman and her personality is comparable to nails on a chalkboard ACCORDING TO HER COWORKER ALAN, who has agreed multiple times about how unpleasant of a female shit is. This is what happens when a woman is not properly loved at home, and then she proceeds to go to work and take it out on innocent customers. There is nothing more disgraceful than a black woman making things harder for another hard working black woman. The disrespect to your ancestors, the disrespect to the color of your skin. Have you ever seen the movie Django? She's Samuel Jackson in the movie, and Alan is her evil partner in crime. I reactivated my Yelp account to detail the poor customer service received while attempting to get my elderly mother to some medical appointments. I chose Enterprise due to proximity to my home. Overall a poor experience and what I usually call "The Detroit Special". That is the poor treatment, and assumptions faced when interacting with businesses in the Detroit area. You are treated as a criminal walking in the door and can expect an unpleasant experience. I was not disappointed. I have rented here two or three times prior, and their policy changed to requiring three months of bill payments for two bills if you do not have a major credit card. My debit card was accepted twice before this policy was implemented. I returned home and got the two bills with three months of proof of payment which they recorded into the system. Rented a car. About ten days later our car was not out of the shop due to chain supply issues, so I returned to rent again for another medical appointment. At this point I was again asked for the two bills for three months. Nothing had changed from the last visit and I did not have the documents. I asked why the documents from the prior transaction were insufficient and received nonsensical answers and attitude. Since my life is short and precious, arguing with customer service reps who do not value their customers time, money, or patronage, is a waste of time and energy. The staff was unhelpful, rude, disdainful, and unprofessional. They seemed to act as though I was somehow at fault for not carrying these bills everywhere I go for verification of my ability to pay. I asked for a printed copy of the policy, and it was never provided. Unable to detail the policy and clearly did not care about losing my business, nor the potential for this negative review. Apparently they can afford to mistreat returning customers, who comprise 70-80% if business. At this point I decided to call my mother and have her reschedule the appointment. The lack of empathy and understanding from the staff was enough for me to default to Plan B, getting a ride from our next door neighbor. I will not be returning. I do have a major credit card now, but I will never set foot in and Enterprise again. The policy smacks of the racism typically encountered in the northern suburbs of Detroit. I would rather ride a bike across the country than give this business another dime. Never again. read more

Wow, This place is the WORST! Don't even think of using this company. I was on hold for over 9 minutes then they hung up.They don't care about service and don't even try. So I tried to call the corp office, that is a total rotating phone hell. Oh, they have all kinda of persons but not live persons. The lady in customer service she was not in the office and the phones are not monitored (she out until 4/10/18) I called 9 times trying to reach the Ferndale location and corp office. So here it gets even worse. It is the "policy" that all additional driver needs to meet with the original renter at one main office at the same time in order to be added as a properly authorized user? The car was not bad but the customer service at the office was awful and disgusting and they don't respect people's time ! I had a surgery and I was in pain and they made me wait for hours and then I left thought that I call and do it over the phone .. it was even worse ! They picked up the phone and they put me on hold for 1 hours 48 min YES ! Then they charge my card some money that I never authorized or supposed to pay !! They say on their voice mail message the company that pick you up NO they didn't pick me up at all .. I sent my friend to pick the car for me b/c I couldn't walk after my surgery ! The front desk employees were great and very friendly. The unlimited miles were fantastic for our trip to North Carolina. The cost was also good, much cheaper than other places nearby. The interior was clean and pick up was a breeze. The only downside was the key fob did not work, so locking the car and popping the trunk was annoying. The lock button was in the center console and the only key hole was on the driver's side door. Not a big deal, just a pain at times. Also, the car needed an oil change, which we knew because it alerted us every time we turned the car on. Other than those two minor annoyances, we had a great experience and I would definitely use Enterprise again! read more

I drive often for work and I used to rent a car from this location about bi-monthly, if not more often. Last month, I had one of the worst and most terrifying experiences of my life because of this location's incompetence. I was provided a vehicle that had just been returned. They cleaned it quickly and got me on the road. 7 hours away, in rural Michigan with little phone signal and few signs of life, the car broke down. When I called this location, there was absolutely no apology. It was apparent that no one checked the engine oil upon return of the vehicle, which caused this fiasco. Because of their poor vehicle maintenance, Enterprise emergency roadside had to send a tow truck. There was a miscommunication when roadside told me that the driver would drop me off at the airport to get a replacement vehicle. The driver, a filthy and very sharp-tongued belligerent violent person, screamed for me to shut the fuck up when I tried to hand him my phone with enterprise on the other line. I was hysterically crying out of fear. Enterprise left me with this man with no assistance. He left me stranded at a collision shop in a very unfamiliar place that does not have luxuries like uber or Lyft. Enterprise refused to even have the airport employee come pick me up. I luckily found a taxi company open, which is rare for the rural location where I was, and she drove me to the airport location. Upon returning the car on labor day, it was very busy at this location. I didn't get a chance to tell them where I would like them to shove the keys upon my return. If I was not so busy with work, I would file a lawsuit against Enterprise for this situation. My health and welfare was significantly put at risk. No one at this location ever followed up. They lost a very loyal customer. I also wrote up an incident report to my supervisors and highly recommended we no longer use Enterprise at all. read more

I've always been happy with the cars they have on the lot, but I've seen them get cars from nearby lots for customers who wanted something specific. The car made weird noises. I also think there were electrical problems, since it said I needed to 1) check the engine; 2) change the oil; 3) the door was ajar; and 4) the hatchback was ajar. I doubt that all of those things were going on at once, but I feel like Enterprise should have taken care of those things before I got the car. read more

It was only until I got my receipt that I realized they charged me 60 extra dollars on "Optional" protection. A weekend that originally was only 100 bucks ended up costing me 222 dollars.
