On top of that, they gave me a stellar vehicle...thought I signed up for a Nissan Pathfinder and they pulled out front with a 2020 Armada, very loaded. I hope this branch stays open and hopefully add some paint, flooring and dimmer lighting...thought I stepped into a 1970's K-Mart when i first walked in, lol. PS. You can go to DFW airport but with taxes and fees out the wazoo, you won't get a better rate than this location.

    I reserved a car online only for them to leave a message the morning that I was going to pick up…read morethe car saying they were out of cars and had been for the past week. What a waste of everyone's time and my money! It's negligent and rude to allow customers to reserve cars you don't have available. When I called to verify that the message was not a scam, they confirmed it, but their only solution was to go to another Hertz 1hr and 45mins away. I asked if they had any agreements in place with local rental companies for when these events occur since their closest sister company was so far away and he said "No, on account of that I work for Hertz." Unhelpful, sassy, rude, and a waste of everyone's time. Now I have 5 hours to rent elsewhere and just accept whatever price is available. I will absolutely never use this company in any state ever again.

Was assured by the girl that it would be ready despite her being too lazy or incompetent to actually check my confirmation number or ask for a name or anything. Same girl calls the next afternoon to let me know my rental would in fact NOT be ready when I had requested and paid for it 7 months previously. Asked to speak with her manager and she was conveniently not in the office. The customer service line managed to yield an even worse experience from there. The employees at the DFW location were great, but now I'll likely end up having to fight the charges on my credit card because there's probably less than a 0% chance I'll find someone that's actually an AVIS employee to speak to about this. The customer service call centers are some of the worst I've ever experienced. If you want to do business with a company that has the WORST customer service you've ever experienced then Avis is for you. Hell will freeze over before I ever rent from Avis again

I called the local phone number and it rolled to customer service. All customer service can/will do is say "Yep. Sure was supposed to open 45 minutes ago!" Can't contact anyone. Can't let me return my car to another location less than half a mile away without penalizing ME for the change. Can't do anything useful. Meanwhile, I'm now late for work and for a meeting. Thanks for doing the least you can, Avis! Edit: After an hour and fifteen minutes, someone did show up, and I got the car checked in and myself back on track. After posting here and on twitter about the foul-up, I got a response from Avis customer service on twitter. I called and they made a fair and reasonable gesture to offset my inconvenience and frustration, which I appreciate. Adjusting my review upward a bit due to their follow-up.

Sometimes they will pick it up right away.It just depends on the day. Jordan was very helpful. He always answered my questions. Jordan also displayed a calm, cool, demeanor. I returned the 2015b Honda Civic Sport with a full tank and in great condition. My deposit was returned to my credit card. I just have to wait a few days for it to post. When I did get my rental car it only had 1/2 tank of gas!! What BS. I not only lost time by waiting on the car at the rental location but I had to spend time to go to a gas station to fill up the gas tank. What a pain.... And, by the way, do you know they charge a $300 deposit onto your credit car when you rent the car. Gee, I wish I was told upfront about that. And when I returned the car I did not immediately get my deposit back. After 3 days I still did not get my deposit back. I had to go back to the location and complain about this........then miraculously I got my deposit back on the 4th day after I returned the car. That's BS too. There are much better rental car businesses out there. Don't go to Enterprise.

When we went to pick up the car they gave us a pickup even though the insurance was for a sedan. They didn't have one at the time. Nothing was mentioned about an out of pocket fee. We had a hard time parking the bigger vehicle so we went back later and asked to swap it out if they had a smaller one in stock and they did. Now they charged us for the difference on the bigger vehicle vs the sedan trying to say we knew about the extra cost and that's not true we would not have taken it we would have gone somewhere else. They will not work with us because they put notes in the system that is not true.

The rental had only one team member working, and she was busy with othwr customers. However I greatly appreciated being acknowledged. Once she had opportunity while still in the midst of assisting a customer. The rep greeted me and shared she be with me in a moment. I had about a 10-15 minutes of wait time, before she could begin my rental agreement. It was very hot this day (105°) so before walking out to reviewe the vehicle, she informed me of what is considered as damages. As well as confirming current marks were documented. If I noticed anything additional callout and it will be added. She was very helpful, pleasant and excellent service.

I booked a reservation online with a 4:30 pick-up appointment, fairly simple process. However, I later needed to change the time for the pick-up to 11:30. I was unable to edit the appointment online, so I called the location directly (this is what the website instructed I do). The first time I called, I was put through to an automated voice service stating I should call back during business hours, even though I was currently calling during business hours - I even double checked because I thought maybe I was wrong! I called back the following day and got through to a young man. I told him I had booked a rental on their website, but I needed to change the time of the pick-up. I gave him the time and location, which he confirmed they are familiar with. Later that evening, I received a confirmation email which showed a pick-up of 4:30 - the original, incorrect pick-up time. I called back on the next business day (the day prior to my appointment) to confirm the time had been changed since the email showed the wrong time. I was told the change had not been made, but that it would be fixed. The man I spoke with this time advised they are unable to make such changes in the computer, but he would make sure it was changed and that there would be a pick-up made available at 11:30. Fast forward to the time of my appointment, no pick-up. After 10 minutes (I understand traffic happens) I called the location and spoke with a lady, I believe her name is Kelsey. I told her I had an 11:30 pick-up appointment and wanted to check that someone was on their way. She advised she did not currently have a pick-up scheduled, and the only reservation she had under my name was for 4:30. I explained to her I had made multiple attempts to change the pick-up time and spoke with two individuals over the phone and was told by both the pick-up time would be adjusted. She said she would have someone sent out to me as soon as possible. I asked what the eta would be and she advised a driver was returning from another location and would be back to the store in about 15 minutes. My pick-up location was 13 minutes (per Google Maps) from their store, so my pick-up time would be roughly 45 minutes after my requested time. She asked what size vehicle I wanted and I told her I didn't remember if I selected small or midsize, but whatever was listed on the reservation. She said at this time she only had a large vehicle available and asked if that would be ok. I asked if I would have to pay the higher rate for the larger vehicle and she said yes because that's all she has and she did not plan on having a smaller vehicle ready until 4:30. I said ok, fine. I then hung up and called another local rental company and asked if they had availability for a pick-up and rental. The man I spoke with asked if I needed a pick-up right then, and I said if you have someone available, yes. He said no problem, I'll find someone. I called and cancelled the reservation with Hertz. The second rental company arrived within 5 minutes of my call.
