I went to Enterprise the other day to rent a minivan so that I could move things out of my parents garage. When I arrived at the counter, the super helpful staff member quickly helped me realize that I accidentally made the reservation for the following day. While I was embarrassed, he came to the rescue and honored my internet price for a same-day vehicle. They didn't have an minivans left but I was given a pretty good size VW SUV. This thing was nice!! Let me describe the disgusting and outright illegal business dealings at this location. I was hit with a $236 toll charge for tolls I never went through. Upon further investigation, it has been discovered that another car has the same license plate. The other car went through numerous tolls and they charged my card. I had to threaten to get law enforcement involved before they returned my money. I do not recommend. Just to update the rest of my experience at this branch: I called to make sure my extra 5 days geico gave me would be good through Friday morning. The woman on the phone went to check and said yes. When I came back, the guy said I need to pay an extra day. Then said what happened to me before last month didn't happen and that the phone call also didn't happen. I almost flipped out at it but also not surprised. Fortunately, he waived the day but it was not without a struggle. Other enterprise branches are just fine. My car was in the shop and I got a car through Geico. This is the worst experience. (My son previously got a car from this location and it died in the driveway) Car died at the train station and was towed. I was promised that I would get a replacement car the following morning at the same location at 7:30am. Got to the location only to be told that they are not able to confirm where the car was towed to, hence I could not get a replacement. Enterprise called the tow truck. Took the day off for doctor's appointments...missed them both. Sat there for over 2 hours with minimal communication from the employees. I had to take the initiative myself to call Enterprise and was told that the case was escalated. After such inconvenience i did not get notice until 3:12pm that I could get a replacement car. Manager did not do much of anything to help and acted as if he was being bothered when I asked for an update. read more

Omari asked for my ID and credit card per usual; then they asked to verify my address and write it down on the credit card based on my ID being from New Jersey. I've never had to verify my address renting cars. I was racially profiled and immediately felt uncomfortable. After they had American Express verify the address via phone, Omari proceeded to show me cars. He offered me the Toyota Corolla or Toyota Camry. Omari and I were outside the location, and I felt more comfortable voicing my concerns to him about them asking to verify the address on my credit card. He told me that was the policy, and the other locations were doing it wrong and not following protocol after putting me in the Toyota Corolla was not cleaned. We went back inside, and he told the assistant manager Darnel on duty in front of all the employees on the sales floor, including a customer. Then all four employees on the sales floor attempted to back up those claims about it. I had four people speaking to me simultaneously, which made me uncomfortable again because I was feeling attacked now. The light-skinned gentleman (I did not get his name) who was not even helping me interjected, "you should just go to Rockville Centre." I ended up saying I just wanted the car and wanted to leave. I proceeded to stand in the location for additional 10-12 minutes, not saying anything else to anyone for the assistant manager to tell me he would be unable to rent to me based on what I brought race up in the location. At this moment, I felt they didn't respect me or my time; no one told me I had to wait while they cleaned the car, and now they refused to rent. I did not raise my voice, yell, threaten, or curse at any of the employees the entire time I was in the location. I voiced my concern on the matter of being mistreated as a customer. Instead of rectifying this matter, they choose to stand firm on it. I opted to rent a car from the Merrick, NY, location maybe an hour or so later. I'd never been here before, but from the moment I walked in, I could tell this would be a better experience. The lot attendant was working. A manager held the door for me when I approached the door. Kevin helped and did not ask to verify my address because my ID is from out of state, ... I repeat, he did not ask to verify the address on my credit card. I was in and out in 10-15 minutes; excellent customer service here. Kevin offered me a free upgrade, and the vehicles were cleaned and ready to go. Would leave 0 if possible. Avoid this rental office. Check everything inside and out! I was more worried looking for exterior damage. My wife was given a rental through insurance in which during initial inspection we didn't look at the air vent on inside of car and missed a missing vent cover. When returned it was somehow the first thing noticed. We were told it would be processed as do not pursue and a day later called back to be told that they were pursuing us for damage. read more

The employees that work in the Freeport store are scammers...in the hour and a half that I waited for my rental I witnessed so much flimflam from them, was a horror show in motion. They tried to upsell me to an SUV after waiting for them to find the type of medium size auto that I specifically asked for and agreed to wait while they located it. The young man handed me paperwork to sign for a large SUV saying that it will only cost $12.52 per day over the $50 my insurance covered. He told me that there was no cars on the lot other than SUVs I again agreed to wait for him to find what I wanted. A few minutes later I see him pull up to door with a Blue Malibu that had been parked with other sedans in my view of the lot. He was noticably annoyed when I didn't buy optional insurance from them. I declined the coverage since my Auto Insurance plus American Express had it covered I witnessed the scare tactics used by this group to sell this Insurance. I returned the car to the Body Shop (Freeport Collision) yesterday early afternoon. I had my Sister with me and she looked very closely along with me at this car. There was no visible damage to the rocker panel on the driver side that Enterprise phoned today to claim is there after their driver picked it up from Freeport Collision and drove it back ito Enterprise...They accused me of damaging this car which I very strongly deny. They said that I drove the car 35 miles from Monday afternoon to Thursday afternoon. I thought I drive it even less than that. I phoned Freeport Collision and Allstate and American Express to report this bad behavior. It is my opinion that the damage may have been done by the Enterprise Employee when he drove it back to their lot. The young man, Andrew who said that he was the Enterprise Manager, said that he would phone me back in an hour after checking with their auto body shop to make a final decision on whether they are holding me responsible for the damage. Jerry from Enterprise came to pick me up and took me to the office. Dominic helped me get a car that my warranty will pay for. Then Gianni drove me to the next location to get the car. (Same one as the one I drive) Everything went so smoothly and all of the guys Amir, Dominic, Gianni and Jerry were very helpful. Want to know how this freeport enterprise works?; here we go. They are not organize at all if you have an appointment for a certain time expect inconvenience and waist of time. As soon as you speak to "Emier" guy with slick black hair he will not give you full attention and not make you feel welcome. I had many questions but he didn't want to make eye contact or care to answer. PLEASE BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE if you like to get your car at the time the appointment was made. Very upset! Came here after a long day of issues with my car. 2 woman of color working had the nastiest attitudes! And because I didn't have a reservation I was scoffed at like I wasn't important. And after asking for prices they told me they wouldn't give me a price until I handed them my id and credit card. So after I gave her my id I asked for the price and she told me they only have 2 types of cars (suv or pick up) I said no thanks and walked out. So unprofessional!! I haven't rented a car in years, and never in New York. This industry has really evolved. I was delighted to discover that I could reserve a car online in just a few minutes. Really. It's true. The online registration process at Enterprise took about 5 minutes. The door-to-door pick-up service was certainly convenient. Luckily, I arranged to be picked up much earlier than when I actually needed to have the car and drive off. A very pleasant, well-dressed young woman picked me up . . . and then drove around town to pick up two other customers. I was a bit surprised, but it worked out okay. A few words of caution for out-of-state drivers: If you don't have a New York state driver's license, make sure you take along at least one major credit card or rent-a-car centers like Enterprise won't allow you to sign out one of their vehicles. A bank debit card will not be accepted, unless you are a licensed New York state driver or you are at one of their airport locations and you have a return airline ticket. read more

Dont even think about renting a car from them. First of all, They gave me a car that had an expired inspection sticketlr and within one week of having the car the parking tickets accumulated. When I returned the vehicle I handed them all of the tickets (5) tickets of $45.00 each. One month later they charged my Credit Card $85.00. I tried to disputed it and my creditor advised me they said the charge was for cited tickets. How does $85.00 equal to 5 tickets. Please tell me??? Why charge my card 1 month later. Also, I am NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THOSE TICKETS. Waiting for my refund from the citation dept. Lets see how long this takes!!!! read more

Shannon and the assistant manager Lauren are the only reason why I will ever rent from Enterprise again!!!!They are truly the best!!! This company is greatful to have them. They deserve no stars. They're an absolute scam. I received a defective car and instead of taking money off or just keeping the original price they over charged me. I agree upon 9 dollars out of pocked along with my insurance paying 30 a day. I was only driving a little Nissan. I should have paid 261 out of pocket but they snuck in an additional 24 dollars. Instead of refunding my 24 dollars they offered 15. The car they gave me had gasoline pouring out if you tried to fill up the car. They told me I over filled the tank which makes no sense since every car will stop pumping on its own. the windshield whippers were shot and I had to pull over if rained heavy. aside from those main issues the car was filthy and I actually found pot and a old vape in the car. so I guess they don't check or clean their cars. My whole experience was a nightmare and they charged me more then agreed upon. extremely disappointed and will never use them again. read more

I always have a great experience with the Freeport Enterprise. I am a repeat corporate customer and at times the staff will give me a free upgrade. Staff very helpful. Vehicle clean. My only pet peeve is in spite of the no smoking policy some customers still smoke so when I get the car I can detect the scent. Not sure what else (other than deep cleaning) Enterprise can do to completely get rid of the cigarette scent. read more

I was completely humiliated, embarrassed & inconvenienced when I rented a vehicle from the Freeport New York location. The vehicle that was rented to me was given to me with a expired registration, inspection & no insurance by Robert. I was not notified by any employer that the registration, inspection was expired as well as no insurance even when I called in to have my rental extended which they gladly charged me with no problem. I was pulled over by Nassau County Police Dept for the car having expired registration which their system picked up on & prompted them to pull me over leading to the car being impounded. I notified their office & I got no help what's so ever from any employee at the location all I got were excuses & no accountability from anyone at the location. I was treated like a criminal & not offered any help with my issue. I was not offered a refund or given my deposit back. The managers Tiffany & Ahmir at location were very dismissive & nonchalant about the issue & would not offer me any real assistance while making excuses for why I'm being charged when the expiration was expired not providing a refund for the days the registration were expired. I was told I would be notified by corporate on 6/6/19 & I was never contacted by anybody from enterprise. I've left a voicemail with Amanda Mass & was never contacted after being told I would be contacted numerous times. I would recommend if you ever rent a vehicle from this location you verify all documents on vehicle or find a more professional company. read more

My family and I have used this location a few times throughout the last couple of years. So far the service there has been great! They always have a car available to me when I need it. They do sometimes try to push certain promotions and upgrades, however that is something I'm never interested in so they don't have the opportunity to "scam" me into anything. The only issue I do have at this location is the wait time. You reserve a car to be picked up at 1pm, but you won't leave the lot until 2pm. My advice is to arrive about 1/2 hour to an hour earlier than pick up to get through all that paperwork and preparation for the car. I must say that Enterprise in Freeport rescued me from having the worst birthday ever. my girls and I had planned a trip to Canada since the beginning of February the day before my trip which was yesterday April 18th budget in Melville made it so complicated for us to get a rental I would never recommend them. I must say Lauren is my fairy Godmother when I say she went above and beyond to even match what budget had gave me or close to it I started off our conversation in tears and my conversation ended with me telling her I love her and I'm so grateful and I'm so happy honestly I'm not lying I'm being so upfront right now I just can't explain how happy I am and if you're ever going to rent a car and you're in the Long Island area I will highly highly recommend Lauren. This is not my first getting a rental through enterprise, however, the management team is a joke. They have no sense of urgency when it comes to the customer. They are very in footing you the bill, trying to upcharge you with unnecessary bullshit except when it comes to doing their part. They lack the bare understanding of customer service in making the client is satisfied throughout the entire process. I find myself being the one to follow up with issues that aren't and shouldn't my problem. Freeport enterprise mislead me and charged me an extra 2 days on a car rental that was a one way one day to Milford mass. I needed to get to bring my niece home due to her fathers emergency surgery. We were already under a pile if stress! Per our agreement I was to rent the car for one day and drop it off at the Milford mass location. Fair enough I did my part and dropped off the car per our agreement before 4. Done. Nope. Now they claim that because that location was closed until Monday I have to pay until Monday?!? What kind of scam is that?! I even called to ask if it was okay to drop it in the drop box and they said yes. But didn't mention I would be charged for Sunday too! Corporate says that the Freeport location is the only one that can fix this issue and I have called a number of times even the Milford location has tried. Lauren said she would fix the problem then never did. I have been very patient and returned the car when we agreed where we agreed. You made no comment to me that I would be charged for extra days because the drop off location was closed? That's misleading and basically a straight up lie that this was a one day rental and you know it. Horrible customer service. I have been dealing with this all week and I am done being patient and waiting for them to do what is right. Time for social media. read more

I would like to take the time out to say that the service at the Freeport, NY location is the WORST customer service I have EVER encountered . They are a group of lying, manipulative, money hungry employees who will say anything to customers to get them into their store and to get their money. I spent the better half of an afternoon calling local car rental dealerships so that I could rent a two door sports car for the week. All of them told me that they didn't have such a car until I contacted the freeport location. The man on the phone was initially friendly and told me that they had what I wanted, and indeed had a challenger on the lot for me to rent. I sent my client to go pick up the car. Mind you, the man is going out of his way to do this and is pressed for time but made the effort to go. Come to find out the employee LIED. There was NO CHALLANGER let alone any two doors on the lot. Now I was stuck with no transportation, being that it was 6 o'clock already and all dealerships tend to close around that time and EXTREMELY AGITATED. Of course those lying money hungry people tried to get me another car and tried to brush me off like I was the one lying. As if no one told me anything in the first place. They were very dismissive and did not care about the fact that I was clearly upset about the situation. I would not recommend this place to any decent person I know. read more
