I asked Priceline for a car rental place near my hotel. I trusted Priceline, which was a mistake, and took a rental from a Hertz at 1478 Merivale. I requested an SUV with a toddler seat near my hotel to pick up a friend and his family. Instead, I got to go on a 20 minute ($45) taxi ride to the car-rental place. And then, when we got there....it didn't exist! So I had to call Hertz - international rates, of course - which informed me the Hertz was at 1916 Merivale. David, the man who worked at Hertz, was sympathetic to my plight, but there was still nothing he could do about what happened or the fact that there were no toddler seats to be had. Still. David let me keep the SUV until the next morning and drop it off at a different location -- no additional charge. And then, days after I got back home, I received a receipt in the mail from Hertz. They had taken $45 off my car rental fee -- when it wasn't even their fault. And I didn't even have to complain. So that's why I give Hertz five stars. I'll always rent from them in the future. David was a real pro, and a very nice guy. Priceline, however, still sucks.

The uncourteous young man was uncaring and rude. It then involved one person to rescue her to home and now we needed to lend her our car and I am a working in health care. Unprofessional and insensitive service additionally inconsistent information was provided. Strongly suggest you go elsewhere as this resulted in disrupting three other professionals due to this one employee. I will be calling in the morning to review and discuss personally. Poor customer service I would give him a very low rating despite it being close to closing time. As a professional I work until the work day is done. Today sept 15/2026 I look at a ad on marketplace for a 2023…read moreford maverick lariat that they have listed with a video, I reach out to the dealer and chat back and forth with salsesman and agree to come in and test drive, I did tell them I was interested in trading in my 2024 bronco sport (rebuilt status) . I drive across city 40mins to have a look at there vehicle and when the salesman brings the truck around to front of dealership its smells like a cigarette inside and full of stone chips on the hood, both fenders and the roof is full of rust from all the stone chips including a completely cracked windshield. The salesman proceeds to tell me that no worries it hasn't gone through the shop yet to be checked I say that's ok I'm not interested being in way worse shape than my vehicle. in the mean time the used car manager Liam has my key and ownership to decide what they will give me trade in value, that was fine I was looking through dealer website with the salesman on a 2025 they have but not at the the lot to view. I said to the salesman can you get my key and ownership for me from the manager. The salesman leaves to go talk to manager and comes back if I'm interested in a brand new maverick we have great deals with employee pricing I said did you find out what my vehicle is worth on trade the salesman said they are test driving and will have a number shortly. I wait and walk around show room looking at a new Maverick and then meet the salesman and manager at the front door of the dealership and the manager asks me what I want for my vehicle I say as much as possible, The manager then says "you must have gotten a good deal on yours being a rebuilt title" I say "why do you say that?" The sales manager Liam Lawless instantly gets his chest puffed up, holds my key out in the air and says "I'm not interested I'm going to pass!" I at this point am annoyed as I taken my time to drive across city to view a vehicle they advertised that was totally misleading . I took my key and told them to remove their ad as it is not showing all the damaged on the truck the salesman agreed to remove ad immediately and he did. To wrap up my review, I find it very immature for a so called used car manager to treat a customer that way let alone in the front entrance so unprofessional. I was truly interested in coming back to proceed with a deal on the 2025 Maverick the next day when it was back on the lot. Oh well there are many other Ford dealers to deal with as Donnelly Ford doesn't put the customer service first. Its a shame that one employee could ruin the experience and sale for the salesman.

Like seriously, why don't you all accept checks and then return my check immediately. Then it takes almost a month to receive the check. Whoever came up with that idea. This was during the rail line blockades by protesters opposing the Coastal GasLink pipeline, so anyone who was traveling by train (like us) was stranded. Car rental companies were busy, many locations had their entire fleet rented out, so we were thankful Billy Bishop had some cars left, but I am digressing from the review...). We had minimal interaction with the staff at this Ottawa airport location (which was the only location open late on a Sunday, so we had to return it there despite living nowhere near the airport and having to take a taxi home from there, oh wait I'm digressing again, lol), but overall we were very happy with our experience at National as a whole. As soon as we drove into the assigned parking spot for National, a representative approached us and greeted us. He scanned the barcode on the car, looked around for damage, checked the odometer, gas meter, etc. Told us everything was good, and emailed us confirmation of the return. Easy peasy. Signage for the car rental drop off was clear, and signage for where to drop off the vehicles for each car rental company was also clear. Although I would have rather taken the train like I had originally planned, I had a good experience with National both in Toronto and Ottawa. I would rent from them again, but hopefully next time it will be because National was my first choice, and not because I had to scramble at the last minute to find a way home because my original plans were derailed, so to speak.

Due to a mistake in my reservation, I did not have a car but they were very gracious and hooked me up quickly. On the return, the lady was extremely nice- she was hustling and actually running to get people checked in quickly. When she asked me how the rental was, I told her it was great but wished the car was bigger, and she offered me a free upgrade for my next rental- probably won't ever use it, but nice nonetheless! My only warning for this location, which has nothing to do with National- no gas anywhere near airport, plan ahead!
