I've been a loyal customer for years here, but these last few rentals have been it for me. When I made this reservation for 0730, little did I expect to still be sitting here at almost 0900. This was a well planned business trip for me . WAS=key word! The staff working here does try to resolve issues but apparently there's no protocol for regular maintenance on vehicles here. As I have been waiting for a second vehicle ( first one had engine light on and driver wiper dry rotted), another customer has broken down and called to let them know. Customers hear everything...... So the vehicle they are giving me- "has a flat tire but we're going to put air in it "!!!! Seriously???? Our company also uses Enterprise for company rentals, so I'm even checking on not renewing this contract. Very disappointing. I do not recommend!!! read more

Friendly service. Had to wait a bit for the car as they were cleaning it. We reserved a Compact SUV and ended up with a Chrysler Pacifica minivan. At first, I internally balked at having to drive a minivan, but after about an hour or so on the road, it's a great ride. Large interior and fairly comfy. Great car, reasonable (by 2021 prices) deal. I had to wait an hour and a half for my car to be cleaned. They also gave me a car that BADLY needed an oil change so I had to change the oil myself. Additionally, they failed to notify me when my rental was complete as they're required to do. Highly recommend going out of your way not to go to this location. read more

Called Enterprise on December 9, 2021 and reserved a GMC Suburban van for one week starting March 11, 2022. We received an email confirmation on the same date at 11:38 am . My wife went to pick up the GMC Suburban at 9:00 am on March 11, 2022 and was told that the GMC Suburban was not available. They told her they were substituting an Infinity SUV instead of the Suburban. They stated that the Infinity was a comparable SUV. We paid $1,250.60 for the GMC Suburban. Since we we leaving for our vacation in less than an hour and we had our daughter and two grandsons waiting for her to return, she accepted the "comparable Infinity". The Infinity SUV was a lot smaller than the GMC Suburban we had rented the past year. The seats were not as comfortable and the mileage was less than GMC Suburban. One of my grandsons had to lay on the luggage in the rear of the SUV as the Infinity only has room for two in the front seat and two people in the second row. We returned the Infinity SUV late Saturday night to Enterprise. I tried to call Enterprise on the (407) 243-1970 number on Monday. The answering system did not have any number to push for filing a complaint, but did have a number to rent a vehicle. I gave up and called the (800) 307-666 number and finally was transferred to an agent in Jacksonville Beach. The young lady told me that Enterperise has the right to substitute vehicles as printed on the confirmation form. WRONG. The conformation form states that "Chevy Suburban or similar Automatic". i I have been renting vehicles for vacations from Enterprise for over 25 years and have never been so disappointed in their service. This is not the way to treat customers. Need less to say they need to change their methods of doing business. Last March, I returned a vehicle on a Saturday to the Jacksonville Beach location and the employee on site instructed me to put the key in the overnight drop box. On Monday, they called to tell me a headlamp was broken on the vehicle and I was responsible. I explained that the damage probably occurred on their gravel lot, next to a heavily trafficked sidewalk, near the beach, on Spring Break weekend, but in any event, the headlamp was not broken while I had the vehicle. Their response? You should've read the contract's fine print closer because it says the customer is responsible for the vehicle until an Enterprise employee inspects it, even if that inspection happens DAYS later. None of the facts set forth above are in dispute, and yet, Enterprise is still hounding me for $595 to pay for the headlamp. Pretty revealing of this company's ethics and integrity, or lack thereof. Rented an almost new minivan with no wiper fluid and the new car window sticker tape marks still on the car. When I went to return it, I was told I either needed to vacuum it or pay to have it detailed to remove hairs from the carpeting. I have never had to clean a car before returning it. If I could give a 0 I would. When we walked into the location the receptionist was being very rude on the phone with a client. You can tell the client couldn't hear the receptionist and instead of raising her voice so the client could hear her she did it in an annoyed way then put the lady on hold as she slammed the phone. When it was our turn to check in we were told that we needed a credit card to be able to rent the car. Confused I asked her that I used my debit at another location. Without answering the question appropriately she dismissed me an my husband. Seeing the frantic face of my husband and I on our honeymoon she cared less to answer any of our questions. We had to figure the situation out fast and another employee stepped in to help us out and hear our concerns our. I am just greatly upset at the lack of customer service. read more

Because of this one location's particular rule about non-Florida IDs, when I showed up to pick up my rental, I was unable to rent a car. This despite having everything confirmed two days prior and paid in advance. I was left stranded in Jacksonville Beach on a Sunday morning with no way to travel to my final destination. The woman at the front desk had horrible customer service and could not even give me a reason why this rule was this way, just staring blankly at me and robotically reciting her meaningless words over and over. Instead of helping me, she left me to have no car and no way of getting one. She put me in a very dangerous situation and on top of that an extremely expensive one at the end of the day. Be warned they will throw ever addition fee at you at pick up. read more

You'll love it here. 1) They said they were really busy and asked us to come back in two hours. I swear to f#%€ing god that they said that. There were no customers there. On my mother's grave, I swear this to be true. 2) They asked if we have a credit card. I don't have a credit card because... I don't. If I can't afford it, I don't buy it. They told me that when I come back in two hours (I swear to god this is true) to bring a copy of my light bill showing a zero balance. Seriously. I'm not sure that's even possible. Why would beaches energy send me a bill showing that I don't owe them anything??? Something about how they don't do credit checks or some nonsense. UNBELIEVABLE! We chose enterprise because I get a discount there through work. NEVER AGAIN!!! We went across the street to Hertz and had a car in 5 minutes. No hassle. Very easy. Go to Hertz. I am in a customer service/transportation industry myself and people that are not in logistics may not understand what it takes to get cars on a lot to meet reservations. It's easier said than done. I truly understand, that at times, their job is difficult and frustrating. They are always customer oriented. This office continually seems to be disorganized. Almost every time I ever go there, which has been a couple times a month, there seems to be a problem. I guess when you reserve a car on line for a specific day and time, and you get a confirmation, it doesn't matter. On top of that I was just charged $80 for a pet hair fee. Went on a trip and took my dog this time. This is not stated anywhere in the agreement, but I was still charged. I rent a lot of cars for work and always bring them back spotless. This one time they decided to stick it to me. When I asked for the receipt of the pet hair removal, they told me that they don't have a scanner. Priceless. There is a Hertz right across the street, and I will be bringing all my business there. read more

In May 2019, I reserved a 15 passenger van online for a rental on June 22, 2019. The pickup was confirmed for Jacksonville Beach Florida. The purpose of the rental was to transport family to a wedding, all 14 guest were confirmed for the wedding and reservations for dinner paid. Several of the guest were elderly and would not be able to attend if not driven. About 2 weeks ago, I was called by an Enterprise Rental agent to confirm my rental and let me know of the deposit when I picked up the vehicle. TODAY, June 18th @ 4:13 pm, I get a call from Dalia who is the manager at Enterprise Jacksonville Beach. After confirming my rental desire, she tells me they WILL NOT have a van available despite my confirmation. She apologized! 4 Days before the trip- reservation made over 3 weeks in advance and confirmed and you last minute cancel!!! Never again, I don't care if I am walking the Sahara desert, never again Enterprise. What do I do for the 15 reservations already paid? NO CUSTOMER SERVICE ! read more

It had been awhile since we rented a car so things had changed. First thing is the whole debit card thing. They give you a list of things needed, which is great BUT it is deceptive. It says you have to have zero past due. That is not true They should say, " your previous generated statement has to show zero". The way it is worded now implies as long as you're current, can prove it, that works. For that reason, we were not able to rent a car to go to a wedding. It was too late in the day to make it anywhere else with a minivan that we needed. Now we lost a day and had to rent elsewhere. After being an Enterprise customer for over 15 years and having rented 20 times, this one incident and their lack of caring has turned this customer away. If they had put a simple clarification on their list, we would have had time to get that but again, this was an hour before everyone closing. What infuriates me even more is the 2 calls we got from an agent confirming etc and both times they could have mentioned that little detail. We even told them what we had the day before and they decided to not pay attention or tell us " Hey, you have the wrong statement" Great job and poor, very poor customer service. This location is no where near as good as it had been the previous decade. Never going back and will encourage others to go to Hertz down the street now. They handled it with no problem and laughed at how ridiculous the statement policy was. read more

I was disappointed with my service by enterprise, particularly the Jacksonville beach location. I had asked if they could extend my rental, which I understand was an extra request, however I was met with attitude and complete lack of understanding and willingness to help. I had called I would be there right before six due to work obligations but would have to bike back to get my own car and the answer I received was "well we leave right at six". While I understand there are hours, staying open an extra five minutes would've made a world of difference for me and prevented me biking back in the rain at 7pm at night to pick up my car. I then tried to exchange my car since they only had a large suv (was told they'd hold an intermediate car) and despite being told by the manager to contact him with any problems, I did not hear back. I ended up sorting it out with another enterprise (which I emailed him and maybe that's why he never reached out to me), who also had a hard time securing a car (despite verbally telling me over he phone they had one) and I had to disrupt my work schedule again. I know there are hours and limitations for each location but lack of communication and willingness to work with me was very frustrating particularly since I rented a car for a full week at a fairly high price compared to previous rentals I've done. Michael Barrow Referred to Enterprise by State Farm. I took my 83 year old mother to pick up a rental car after someone backed into her and left. Enterprise told me and my mother that they had talked to State Farm and everything was ready. They explained the charges along with a $25 refundable deposit. I asked if all the paperwork was done and the young lady with the straw hat and Mini Mouse shirt said yes. While I was out getting my mom's car to drop off for repairs the young lady told my mother that STATE FARM did not cover her on the car and had her sign another paper agreeing to pay an additional $17 dollars a day. While I was not around. We contacted State Farm and found out the young lady was being less than truthful. She of course was fully covered for the rental and had no need to be charged $17 a day. When confronted they rewrote the contract one day before we were to turn it in. I assumed they would do the right thing and take this charge off. No " you signed the contract and you will need to pay". I have lived at the beach my whole life and never seen a company that would take advantage of a senior citizen in such a bait and switch way. My mother who is not confrontational says let it go I'll pay it. Sorry can't do that. BBB and Consumer Affairs expect to here from me soon. read more
