I normally rent from this location and only this location for two reasons: It's down the street from my house, and excellent service. Today they fell short and as a result lost a few stars. I had a reservation for tomorrow, however, my plans changed and I modified it to pick up today. I literally left work early, drove like crazy to make it there by 5pm when they closed. I was greeted with a forced smile and was told they hadn't received my modification. I offered to show the sales girl my confirmation and she said since she didn't receive it, all she had was a compact car. I walked out to check it out and it was too small, which is why I reserved a larger one. I asked about renting any of the other cars on the lot and she responded, "Those are SUVs!" I was a little confused as I know what an SUV is, but okay. I asked about the pricing and any discount due to having to upgrade. She came back to inform me that because I hadn't checked with them to make sure they had the car I reserved when I modified my reservation, I was pretty much out of luck. So it's the tiny red car or nothing. She did let me know I could go to the airport or come back in the morning at the time of my original reservation. I felt this was condescending as I already stated my plans had changed. Even though there were three employees standing there, no one offered any type of customer service. I understand that they can't change the situation, but at least apologize for my inconvenience. I think that because I was keeping them from going home they preferred to just stand and wait for me to leave so I did. Thankfully I found a budget rental that I've used in the past and they were able to accommodate my plans at the last minute. I even got a better price so thanks Enterprise and goodbye. read more

Finally after several issues with this location, I've made the decision to rent with Hertz. But I do thank Alexa and Brian for there great attention to detail and professionalism. This location used to be great but not so anymore. I've been a customer for 15 years and a member for 10, and most of those years as a platinum member. Once rented for almost a year. There are lair and making you fool. We made a reservation for Rav-4 and first they made me wait for 1 hour. They said we are cleaning. I said okay I will wait no worries. Then suddenly they said that car is not available. You can get another car. Then again I compromised but then they said the car is clean but it was not. First off they did have the car that was reserved, and that's where it comes off the rails. It was super tiny for an suv. We were told that cars were sized for luggage space. The manager "5'4" or under and I'm 6'+ said "leg space was a desire not a need" he also offered to transfer our reservation to Tracy, because all people who are there at the store ready to leave are wanting to drive 25 minutes to a different store who "might" have our size of suv. Also offered to have us take TINY suv on the road and he would call along I5 and try to make a reservation along the way and maybe we could trade that car in for a bigger one if someone had it and he would guarantee it if they had it we could trade with an up charge. The first worker who came out said we could have one of the 2 other cars there "van, larger suv" and that they were just being cleaned. Then manager tiny came out and said oh no he just needs to be trained more and that business is so busy right now he didn't need our business because he would have no problem renting out that small suv- which on the website is listed to fit 5 people. This means 2 adults and 3 kids but they should be under 5'4" because leg room is a wish not a need. He really shouldn't be in management, maybe HE could benefit from more training, definitely doesn't put the customer first.. Sad interaction, from a usually well skilled facility. read more

Holly Crap! What a joke of a business. The manager definitely needs a course in customer service. His holier than thou attitude obviously comes from being just 1 of 2 car rental agencies in Manteca. When I called to ask if they had any vehicles available to rent, he assured me he would take care of me. Hitching a ride from my neighbor, I arrived 10 minutes after speaking with him. I approached the counter and was greeted (not) with hesitation. I told the employee that I had just called and was told it was him who I spoke with. He proceeded to ask many questionable questions unrelated to my need of a rental. He obviously was sizing me up to his liking. He said he did not believe my answers to his questions and was not comfortable in renting me a vehicle. WHAT??? I asked him what the problem was and he accused me of lying to him. This was done in front of all his employees as if he was on a mission to prove who was in charge. He flat out refuse to rent me a vehicle, period! I use to be a manager for 2 major rental car companies, before I was forced to go on disability because of health reasons. I was never taught this method on how to permanently loose a customer. I had a major credit card. I had excellent automobile insurance. And I knew how to read and sign a car rental contract. This was of no importance to Mr. Manager who found the need to feel superior in front of others. Please be prepared to kiss butt when using this place of business. I would give this place zero stars if it were possible. My insurance company set up a rental yesterday. I called the location and the told me that there no cars available. So they set up to have a car for pick up today, as early as 9:30 AM. We arrived at 4:15 PM. They told us that they didn't have a car for us because we were not thereat 9:30 AM. They never said that we had to be there at 9:30 AM or they would give the car away. Total incompetence! They found a car that was not the correct size. Enterprise in Manteca on N. Main Street has amazing customer Service. I have rented there a couple of Times and Both times we worked with Steve. Steve is so professional and works well under pressure and moves like the energizer bunny. Its a very busy office, and Steve greets everyone at the door and is making sure everyone is taken care of. Steve made sure i rented the right car for my needs. He definitely is triple tasking when he is working. My husband I will continue to rent from Enterprise in Manteca. read more

Cody saved our weekend! We were driving from the Central Coast to Tahoe and our truck broke down in Manteca. I called Enterprise at 4:40 (they close at 5) and Cody said that he would wait for me to get there even though I couldn't get there via Uber until 5:!5. After you work a long day, staying late sure couldn't have sounded good. But, I was so happy he was willing to wait. We were able to rent a truck, transfer our bikes and get up to Tahoe for the weekend. We otherwise would have had to spend the night in Manteca and probably would have headed back home the next day. It would have been a huge disappointment to my kids and we are SO thankful Cody was willing to go the extra mile for us- it made a huge difference and was a great lesson to my kids on how to treat people with understanding and kindness. read more

Wow. First and foremost thanks to enterprise for coming through during my moment of emergency. Don't even bother with hertz. I experienced random car trouble's, stranded about three hours out from my destination, I was with my whole family and needed a rental car right away, luckily I was at Hertz doorstep, or so I thought. They did not except same-day debit card reservations. So I was pretty much out of luck because they do not have alternatives. Really thankful enterprise was also near by, had to take a lyft. As soon as I got there I received REMARKABLE service, especially after the frustration. David made my life much easier. I was greeted right away and was in a clean nice sized vehicle within 15mins and it was very cheap for two days! A steal. Upon returning the vehicle David remembered me and even asked how the rest my trip was. My family and I were still able to make it to Yosemite thanks to David and Enterprise. read more

I have rented from Enterprise in Manteca two times and had a great experience both times. I always reserve a car via their online website several weeks prior to my trip. They usually call a week before the rental date to confirm my reservation. There is an option to fill out some of the paperwork online to save you time at pick-up. I did that and it made picking up my car a very quick and easy experience. The employees are super friendly too! I plan on using them for any of my future car rental needs. read more

I had a good experience here a few years ago so I re booked...bad decision.. Did you see the Seinfeld episode where he tried to rent a car?.... If so, you will find this amusing. I reserved a Full Size car a week in advance and pre paid. I made my pick up time 9:00 as we needed to be on the road by 10 at the very latest. We showed up at 8:45,the place looked closed as there were no cars in the lot. We went in and found 5 people in front of us. Since we were early we waited a few minutes then the Manager asked what he could help us with. We gave him the reservation # and he said ,ok it will be about an hour because we don't have any cars...REALLY? I said we have a car reserved don't we? Yes but we don't have any here was his answer. We had to go back home and wait for them to call us which they did at 9:50. Then when we got there, they gave us a Chevy Impala with a cracked side mirror. lots of chips and scratches and what must have been the very base model. No frills and it looked old inside. In the hurry to get it to us they left pumpkin seeds on the floor and ash tray and a pack of gum. Looks like I will be going to Hertz in a few weeks when I need another car. read more

When they finally did they said I couldn't get one because I wasn't from Manteca and to top it all off they wouldn't have a car till noon. read more

Every time I have come, the service has been fast, easy, low priced, and they have given me nice cars that were clean inside and out. Cars were as promised or better, and all were newer-model cars. The guys that work here are super cool, I was in and out and on my way in probably just 5-8 minutes in each case. I have three kids, two in car seats and obviously needed a car that fit my car seats, but with a $30/day rental coverage my options were limited. Was rear-ended a while back and had to take my car into a body shop to get it fixed - the insurance company deals with Enterprise and I'm glad they did! From the driver who picked me up from the body shop (didn't get his name, but he was very nice and a safe driver!), to Dani, who rented my car to me, to Steve, who checked my car back in....and back to the same fantastic driver who shuttled me back to the body shop when my car was done....the experience was completely positive! I was recently stranded in Manteca when my 6.0L diesel Pickup broke down. Alexa and Steve were so wonderful! From start to finish - one of their very helpful employees picked me up at the Ford Dealership, and they put me in a vehicle that would carry 2 college students and all their stuff from UCLA to home. Unfortunately, my vehicle was stuck down there in Manteca. And due to the type of vehicle I was forced to keep the car as they were short of those vehicles and needed it back down there so they negotiated a really really good rate to help my pocketbook.
