First of all, the service here sucks! I made a reservation for a small car here and they did not respect my reservation. They made me come back twice. The first time they told me that I had to come back at 12 and they would have a car ready for me. The second time and they wasn't a car for me. So heres a fun little story I went to another local rental place to save a few bucks even though I always rent through enterprise. Imagine my shock when I was told that I could not rent through them because I only use debit card and my credit was not high enough. Mind you at this point i was stuck at the rental place, my husband and child were stuck at the auto dealership and no way for us all to get back together an zero help from the rental place. I was beside myself so I went outside and called Enterprise their manager picked up and talked me through my upset, he assured me that not only would they be able to rent me a car for the night but that they would also pick me and my husband and daughter up. Imagine my total surprise that they would go completely out of their way even after I had chosen to go with somebody else. Once I arrived at Enterprise, the service only got better! I have been to the Manteca Enterprise many times and I have had the same deplorable experience, With management none the less. The short story is they seem to practice a bait and switch method of doing business. I will reserve a car on the Enterprise web site at a decent rate. When I get into the store to pick up my car inevitably they will pull the same game each time which is they will not have a car available for me. From my repeated experience with them, I firmly believe that they hate online reservations because they do not make enough money from the online rates as they would for walk ins or other transactions. This is where the bait and switch comes in as they will offer me a higher class car for a much higher rate. Please do not accept or put up with this behavior and do not let them get away with it. I rent cars regularly around the country mostly always from Enterprise and if the office does not have the specific car class that I reserved then they will offer me a better class car for the same rate. It should not be your problem that they do not have the car you reserved and they should take care of their customers especially if they would like to have a repeat customer. Enterprise car rental in Manteca does not get this concept and appears to not have any interest in their customers coming back. I have had way too many discussions with these people, especially the management, and they would rather force you into a new much higher rate or have you cancel and walk out the door rather than get you in a car for your reserved rate and keep customers satisfied. I would recommend going to Enterprise in Stockton on Hunter as they are decent folks who get the positive customer experience concept. It may be another 20 miles out of my way to do so but anything is better than the way I have been repeatedly treated at the Manteca branch. I hope that the supervisors and corporate management at Enterprise read this because the Manteca Branch needs a purge type of overhaul of their management and attitude. If they are showing a profit then I would bet it would double with decent and courteous counter staff who actually care about their customers and want them to come back. If this happens to you and it looks like it does from most of the other comments, then don't waste your time complaining to the branch management. Just go and complain to the corporate office and tell them about your experience. Eventually upper management will get the big picture about what the Manteca branch is up to and I know they will not like it. Don't put up with it! read more

My car was in the shop and my insurance company set me up with Enterprise for my rental. The stars go to an employee named Don who was very very sweet and pleasant. He picked me up from the shop when I dropped my car off there. Other than that I must say I've had better service. I get to Enterprise and they start setting me up for a car and that goes I eventful enough. The car I got was a 2012 Chevy Impala. I hated every second of that car. If this would've been out of pocket I would've demanded a different car. I thought about asking for a different one anyway but this was being handled through insurance and I didn't want to complicate things. This car smelled old and musty. It had absolutely no frills. It seemed much older than it was. It drove horribly. The gas and the brakes took a lot of effort to get working. My insurance anticipated my car being done on Friday but it didn't get until today. I go to turn in the car and was rudely told my insurance only covered the car until Friday even though I was assured by Enterprise that they would wait to here from Gieco regarding an extension. They actually thought about charging me until I got mad and refused to pay for it. I spoke with the shop and they said that they put in the extension already and it would post tomorrow. I felt like they were blaming me for my car taking longer. They made returning the car a huge hassle. And the fact they charge $30 a day for that Impala is highway robbery! I will not go back on my own if I need a rental for anything. Ill use Hertz instead. In fact Hertz had a location at the shop I should've asked Gieco if we can use them but I didn't think Enterprise would be a problem. Now they're holding my deposit and acting like they don't believe when the insurance is going to grant an extension. Don was the only pleasant person at the place. I don't recommend. There's too many other places to rent a car. read more

Robert and his team are great. One very important critique - brush up on product knowledge, e.g, my low tire pressure alert was on and not noticed during prep. I had to drive back to get it checked and was told the light would reset after driving a while. This may have been true for older models, however, the error message on newer models has to be cleared. This was missed by the office and service staff. Too much Marketing not enough product knowledge. read more

My family and I rented a vehicle from the Manteca location the week of June 16th. The car had napkins from the previous person in the glove box, no big deal. Then I forgot my prescription glasses in the vehicle on our return date, my fault. Well we called the next morning and the vehicle was already rented out. They then told us that they do not check because they assume everyone grabs all of their belongings. The thing that bothers me most here is why are the cars not being cleaned out before being rented out?! If they would have cleaned the car out they would have found my glasses and the garbage the previous person left. Now I have to go spend money on glasses because of the gross neglect of the staff with the vehicles. What if there was illegal substances in vehicle and I got pulled over with my kids in the car?! Your employees risk me losing my kids and going to jail. Is this really the kind of business you want to run?! read more

My truck broke down in Manteca last Saturday, 2/16/14, when I was en route to the Bay Area last weekend. I was completely stressed as I didn't know what I was going to do. I don't know anyone in Manteca, it was a Saturday so no auto service centers were open. I called enterprise a half hour before closing; they sent a driver (who was very nice and sympathetic) to pick me up and bring me to their office. I was impressed by the young woman working the desk - she was very professional, gave me several options, and was very efficient and knowledgeable re her job. The young guy servicing the car helped remove a back panel and flip down the seats - all three enterprise employees I encountered were great ! My rental was very clean and it was fun to drive. I rented 1 way from Sacramento airport and returned to this site. During inspection in Sac airport, I pointed to a paint chip missing on the bumper and the agent said that they don't consider that to be reported during pick up. When I returned the car to this site, they found out a damage on front bumper and insisted that I caused it. They accused me that I damaged the car and since I did not pay extra for their insurance coverage, the guy there told me that they needed my insurance information and will charge the repair to my insurance. I did not give my insurance policy number (of course!). Had I not told them that I will be late for work, they will not release me. And when I asked to be dropped off, they even plan to use the damaged car to take me to my place. I said that they may damage it more and the lady manager there yelled at me and told me that I made wrong accussation to their agent! Long story short, my friend called Enterprise and found out that there was an existing damage report to the car from a previous accident. Enterprise also sent me a letter that claim is now closed but never admitted that it was their mistake to begin with of not having proper history/recording of the car. This company almost hostage me and planned to make me pay the repair (thru my personal car insurance) the existing damage. So be very careful when you rent out, try to put everything that you see unusual, especially if you are not paying for their insurance coverage. read more

The staff were very helpful and they made sure my vehicle was ready when I arrived and they also made sure I was comfortable in the vehicle before I left. When I return the vehicle they made sure I didnt have to wait long for a ride back to my home. The driver who took me home was extremely nice and made me feel very comfortable. I been going to Enterprise Rent a Car for many years, but my last experience at the Manteca office was a nightmare. First of all I arrived on time to pick up my car on May 27 to on May 31. I made the reservations a month in advance, when I arrived the office was very busy, the car I had hoped to get was not available. $317 was held for the rental, which the manager never informed me of the amount, then when I returned, the manager ask if I wanted to keep the payment on the same card. I told her no please put the charges on my son's card she said okay, after leaving the office I realize the wrong amount had been charged, so I went back into the office and the manager assured me that it was a mistake and she would take care of it. Well it's one week later and I still haven't received a complete refund. I was over charged and the wrong card was debited. I have been back to the office twice trying to resolve this problem. I would suggest you make sure you double check your contract and perhaps find another enterprise location this one sucks. read more

Let me start by saying that I do not typically write these kinds of things. Having said that, I suppose I'm not an accredited "yelper". However, I was awestruck by the demeanor of this particular person; & felt compelled to share. Firstly, I rented a car on Saturday, & this associate called me today (Monday), just to see how my rental experience had gone & to gauge my level of satisfaction. I found this to be a refreshing spin on customer service, & got the feeling from this person that there was a genuine care there. Turns out, the car I had was making an odd rattling noise; so I was given the option to come in right away to switch cars; which was just minutes prior to them closing. My daughter & I went down there, where we were graciously greeted by a well-dressed-smiling associate, matching the kind voice on the phone. Following a small amount of paperwork & assistance in the shifting of a trunk-full shopping escapade, we were on our way in our new, rattle-free rental. It has been a very long time since I was this affected by someone's customer service capacity. This person was not overly sappy or fake. On the contrary was direct, respectful, courteous, attentive, & conducted himself with a level of professionalism that cannot be taught. Any CEO, of any corporation, regardless of the industry; would be lucky to have this gentleman as the face & first/last impression of their operation.
