However, the Enterprise on Rt 211 in Middletown, NY is a welcome exception. I have rented dozens of cars from this site and have never been disappointed. The inventory is always up to date and the selection of cars is unparalleled. Having a great inventory of cars is only half of the reason why I am leaving this review though. The staff at this location is the definition of professional. Specifically, Caleb who has provided me with impeccable service every time I rent a car. He is dedicated to ensuring I am happy with every aspect of the car rental process. His in-depth knowledge of the cars that he puts me in allows me to have a better experience when I am driving that car. There have been so many times with other car rental companies where it takes you forever to figure out all the features it has, but Caleb explains the most important features of the car he is renting to you that allows you to truly enjoy your rental car. This is my first time getting a rental from this Enterprise and the customer service is horrible. I was told by Eric a vehicle would pick me up from residence at 4:30. Stood outside for 20 waiting for someone from enterprise to pick me and after I called enterprise, the female manager name Ashley, told me the last pickup was at 4:00pm. I explained to her Eric told me 4:30 was the last pickup time. And she kept saying I don't know who told you. I explained to Ashley, Eric told me. After asking her a few times on how are they going to help me with this situation. Ashley said she'll have someone to come and get me. I reserved a vehicle online and when I arrived to pick up rental it was all ready and I just had to do quick paperwork and my car was in body shop and didn't know when it would be ready and all I had to do was update the date and time and was able to keep it for extra time but it was very easy and hassle free during this whole process, also everyone at this location was super friendly and helpful , Also had my 3 year old with me and she has a hard time sitting still and the sweet girl got her some paper to draw on which made a great impression on me , I would highly recommend and will definitely used them again in future ! I had many rentals to this place every time my car had to go to the shop. IThe remtal the gave me was a Subaru Outback. I it ran very well;had no problems. I had the car for three weeks after calling to extending the rental couple of times they were ok. Word of advice; Dont go through their back door alone. I did and when i passed the long hallway i realized that there was line outside; they didn't open yet. And then this tiny hispanic woman then said there is going to be some irate people out there. She then continued to rat me out to the crowd saying i cut the line. How do you cut the line if you left the door open? i didnt get services until the people who waited got helped first but i was a good sport about it and the people didnt seem to be angry. Disappointed & Unpleasant experience. Lack of empathy. It was Geico who sent me there. I wouldn't rent from them again. I have rented plenty of times in Middletown without any issues. The first car had a bird stuck in the grill. I had to buy air fresheners. I even have a picture. I wasn't going to make a big deal of it, however they were not informative. Email me stating that they couldn't reach me when on every attempt. Whether a call, text, or email they got a respond each time. If I didn't speak to them at that precise moment a response was given. A called back, email, or text because I was at work. I decided to return the vehicle early than GEICO approved because I was being harassed, was overwhelmed & was treated like if I was a criminal. Who's going to disappear with a rental through the insurance company? On top of that I was paying more than the insurance company out of my own pockets. They lack compasion and empatty. Enterprise on 211 in Middletown NY- the nastiest people I have ever met. The day pick up, they advised me that for a 10 plus passenger car- a credit card is required, but I was not informed. My husband had to call them to confirm the reservation and when he came in the day before to make sure the van was available- he was never once informed that a credit card was required for large vehicles. When I went in to speak to a manager and ask for the form that specifies that a credit card is required for large vans, she printed the form out and when I read it with her and saw that it did not indicate it- I asked for her to call the hot line to file a complaint. She refused and so I asked her to provide me with the number. She did and while I was holding the paper, standing at the desk she snatched the paper out of my hand and ripped it and refused to give me another one. There was no apology and no assisting me with other options at all. If you can avoid renting from here, please avoid at all cost. They are not helpful or friendly people at all and they just lost the company money. Now, I have to find a rental last minute and hope they its 1. affordable and 2. available. My sister is married to a man in the Marines and I have not seen her or her new born baby and they are being stationed else where after Thanksgiving. So now, I won't even be able to meet my 2 month old nephew and these people at the Middletown office did not care enough to help me with other options. This is the best rental car experience I've had! The staff consists of very nice, good people. I called the branch a few times with some questions and, each time, the staff responded with great knowledge and positivity. They also made some special exceptions for me, for which I am deeply grateful! I rented an economy car, which was practically brand new. (I was so impressed with it, I wanted to see whether Enterprise sells cars.) The branch also offered me car pick-up and drop-off services. Ray made the drop-off experience a breeze. Since I was interested in their car sales, he gave me some insights on the pros of buying cars from Enterprise and connected me with my local sales rep. Rent elsewhere, 3 days after rental returned they decide to call and bill me for an extra day due to body shops mistakes they don't want to contact body shop to rectify issue woman on the phone has no clue of what customer service is, The body shop contacted enterprise to pay for the extra few hours. Check your car carefully the car I had had scratches all over the hood no documentation of previous damage, I had to bring it to their attention, I am sure they would have tried to stick me with the blame if i had never said anything. read more

While the process is solid in terms of taking your reservation and getting you a car, the quality of the vehicle you receive is the issue. The car I reserved (standard) was supposed to be a VW but I ended up with something less desirable. Management did what they could to assist and I realize there are shortages of vehicles. This review is for the Middletown, NY Rt. 211 location. I made a reservation on the phone with someone and she asked, "if I'd be using a charge card" and I said, "no debit." Never once did the representative say bring a utility bill. "When I arrived I didn't have a bill to show, so I asked Duane the Manager if he could take me home to get the bill since he said he wouldn't rent to me without a bill and he said no. I understand that we are afraid of COVID, but it was only me, I didn't have a hundred people with me. So, I was stranded there. Duane, was very unprofessional and treated me like CRAP! Guess what y'all & he's BLACK just like me. I then called Corporate and someone said, it was up to Duane to take me home and bring me back so that I could rent the car. I asked him again; then explained to him that someone from the CO said he could. He still denied me a ride and said, "NO!" As much as I have rented from Enterprise I was heated that this guy treated me the way he did. So the next month, I tried to rent a car and before I went to him, I called and explained to him what documents I had and he was like, "ok, come on in! " When I arrived there, he saw my electric bill which had an amount due of $66.00 and denied me the rental all because my bill read $66.00. I said well, " you don't know if that bill was paid or not it was due on 7/29/2020 Y r u even looking at my bill?" He replied, " if you can't pay your bills then what does that say about you?" I was soooo embarrassed! How dare he talk to me like that? He then proceeded to say, " it needs to be a zero balance." I said, what company sends you a letter with a zero balance? The electric company sends your next bill with a new bill on it. "I was denied a rental again and I was so sad, because my childhood friend had past away and thanks to Duane trying to display his power, I missed her funeral. One day Duane, Karma will say hello to you. BELIEVE that! Enterprise Corporate I am sooo disappointed n u 4 allowing this so called person to run your store in Middletown. He has no morals for customer service and I am ashamed of him. He's NOT a humanitarian at all. SO, finally I was stranded again and folks, how about a very nice STATE TROOPER saw me on the high way walking, stopped her car and asked me if I needed a ride? This is the only Enterprise branch I will use, even though I live closer to the agency in Monticello. Everyone working there is helpful and knowledgeable. The agency is so well run, I am in & out of there in minutes. The cars are clean and well-maintained. The location is great too -- just a short distance from Route 17 and I84, in a small shopping center with ample parking.
