The desert Enterprise Rent Car stranded us in.

DO NOT use Enterprise car rental or buy/rent ANY Nissan Rogue. THEY LEFT US STRANDED IN THE DESERT !!! Was on a trip through the Mojave desert in 110 heat with three adults and two little girls and the Nissan Rogue we rented from Enterprise broke down on the highway after about an hour of total travel. Enterprise would NOT send a tow truck, uber, or any other help. The highway patrol in the area said it is a reoccurring problem with Enterprise and Nissan Rogues that Enterprise is continuously leaving their customers stranded in dead vehicles. They wanted us to call California Highway Patrol and have them drive us in police vehicles 80 miles to the nearest enterprise rental car and get a new car, all of which would have been closed by the time we arrived (it was afternoon when the car broke down). They would not send an Uber because they claimed we had to be in a city to get an Uber; i.e, lying that Uber can't pick you up on the side of the road. Our destination was Las Vegas, the closest 24-hour-enterprise was in Las Vegas, and the AAA tow truck driver who ended up helping us said he would have had to drive the busted Nissan to the Las Vegas Enterprise anyway. They would not send us towards our destination, but all other directions East, West, and South from which we would have come and would have taken longer than getting to our destination. Stupid. All they had to do was send an agent out with a new car to their broken-door car, get us on our way, and take care of it on their end later. Our impression was that they stalled to make us pay to tow their car, which we did, having no choice. They were prepared to stall us out in the desert to not have to pay for us to complete the trip we rented their car for. They told us we couldn't leave their vehicle; that is, they cared more about their broken Nissan than our lives in the remote desert. The Nissan Rogue only had 40,000 miles of it when it busted. AAA, however, saved the day, I recommend you get them for auto insurance or keep them if you have them. They picked us up before Enterprise even had a tow truck lined up. AAA had no problem towing us to Las Vegas. I agree with the other posts that I wish I had negative stars for Enterprise Rent a Car and Nissan Rogue.

    Where is the dent?

They forcefully terminated my contract without my consent, I did not receive any confirmation. They forced us out of their property and confiscated the rental car. Forced us to walk with Big luggage. The Apple car play of the rental car was not working, so we went back to the enterprise office to have them fix it. They could not fix it. Instead, they told us there was a dent in the car, and we had to pay for it. Interestingly, I could not see any dents in the car (pictures attached), but they kept insisting there was a small dent in the back. They were forcing me to admit that I made the damage and pay for it right there without any investigation. They forcefully charged us for a dent that is not even visible (pictures attached). We had the car just for a single day, and the car was never parked in a public place. Also, they came up with the dent after they had custody of the car for more than 20 minutes. This is a common scam/malpractice they run in Mexico. We had read a lot of reviews online about similar cases and just experienced this firsthand. Horrible!! we were there in person when this happened as we wanted to fix the Apple Carplay issue. We said the dent (if there is one at all) is not even visible with the naked eye, and we never parked the car in a public place, and no hit happened. The manager said they would still charge us and forced me to sign a document admitting I made the damage. I declined. Then they immediately canceled our contract without my consent and asked me to leave the property. But I denied it again, saying I still have a contract till June 4th. Then they called the police and forced us out of their property. In the meantime, they canceled the contract and said we needed to leave their property immediately. We are just speechless!!

My reservation L50305859C7, was booked to be picked up on April 2. While I was on my flight to the destination, our plane had to make an emergency landing which caused us to miss our connecting flight outside of my control. I called hertz corporate number and informed them of the situation and they informed me that they would notate it on my account so that my reservation would remain the same and I would just pick up at the airport 1 day late. When I arrived in Cancun on the morning of April 3rd, I explained the above information to the receptionist. They called the manager who said they would resolve it and just said to get on the shuttle and come to the hertz office. When I got there, I explained the above-mentioned details to the clerk who stated my reservation was in the process of cancelling and I could only start a new reservation: at 7 times the original booked rate. I asked to speak to a manager; a taller gentleman in his early 40s. He became immediately dismissive and said there was nothing he could do for me and began acting extremely rude and unprofessional. He then became rude and dismissive to my pregnant wife who was standing there with my 6 and 8 year old children. When I called him out on that he immediately became PHYSICALLY defensive and walked around the counter getting in my face in a manner as if he wanted to FIGHT me. All of this was in front of my pregnant wife who was sobbing and my children who were also crying at this point. He then had to be PHYSICALLY RESTRAINED by his co-workers. When I asked for his name he covered his badge and refused to show me. He was a larger Hispanic male with short hair in his 40s. My wife and children and I then left on foot to walk to find a different rental car company. I am absolutely disgusted with the lack of professionalism demonstrated by this "MANAGER". As a professional who works in law enforcement, I was appalled by his behavior. Stay away from this company.

But at the Fox Rent A Car counter in Denver Airport, they added massive undisclosed fees and duplicate insurance, turning the bill into $797.68 total charges, with $553.97 extra charged to my card! They charged: * ATS $111.92 (airport shuttle surcharge - not in the Expedia quote at all!) * Duplicate liability insurance: RLP $148.48 + SLP $150.00 (I only agreed to one additional coverage for ~$140 as an international driver) * Inflated Concession Recovery Fee $54.59 (vs $8.99 quoted). The upsell pressure was aggressive, and these extras weren't clearly disclosed in the prepaid booking. Fox Denver is notorious for this bait-and-switch on third-party reservations. They lie about how much gas was initially in the car and then charge you an exorbitant amount for the (small) difference, even though we returned the car with more gas than when we received it. We carefully took videos of the outside of the car to ensure we avoid them scamming us for fake damage on return, but didn't think to take a picture of the gas tank display since it's written on the rental agreement, only for them to completely disregard that (like the ignored the terms in their own reservations). However, when I got to the Europcar counter in Cancun, both the rental price and the deposit were completely different. After some back and forth, they adjusted it and I ended up paying a lower rental rate with a reasonable deposit, which I appreciated--but that was just the beginning. When I returned the car, they claimed that one of the wheel caps was damaged or missing. This made no sense because when I received the car, two of the caps on the left side were secured with zip ties, while the ones on the right side were not. It was clearly inconsistent from the start. Despite this, they charged me nearly 2000 pesos for a cheap plastic cap that is nowhere near worth that amount. What upset me the most was the misleading information about the insurance. At pickup, I was told I had full coverage and that I wouldn't need to worry about anything--whether I hit something or someone hit me, I was supposedly 100% covered. But when the issue came up, they said the insurance only covered certain types of damage and did not include things like tires or related parts. That was never clearly explained. Overall, the lack of transparency, inconsistent information, and unexpected charges made this a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend renting from this location unless you are extremely careful and document everything in detail before leaving the lot.
