This is a highly unusual car rental location - very strong focus on customer service, having conversations with customers, and presenting (perhaps even an excess of) information with a smile. Don't think I've encountered that at a rental car location anywhere else...in the world actually. I'm used to the usual rental car games, so I have everything efficiently set up in advance (all prefs on rental car company profiles, etc.), with my own documentation processes, and I don't need any instructions for the car or return terms, so I found the pickup / drop-off process slightly long-winded. They also seem to place a large security deposit ($300-400) credit card hold on pickup, which seemed a bit unusual, and availability of particular classes may be an issue. However, I ended up in a slightly unusual situation requiring the location's approval for a modification en route, and they were very helpful. I also think the time bit overall was significantly outweighed by the impact that the superior service experience provided by this location's employees must have on customers who are less frequent consumers of rental car services than me. Overall, while there are some areas for potential improvement, big kudos to whoever decided to push on the customer experience / training front at this location - in an industry full of poor customer service throughout. read more

Enterprise loves to advertise it's $9.99/a day weekend special, but neglects to mention that all locations in or near downtown Philadelphia do NOT participate in that special. So I dug around online to find the North Philly location & chose it because it appeared to have the car type in stock that I wanted (compact). The fun began when I called to take advantage of another often mentioned gimmick - we'll pick you up. No, this location would not be picking us up because there was another Enterprise closer to us. That Enterprise was not participating in the weekend special, of course, which is why we did not choose it, but like I said--the fun was just getting started. So we hopped onto the subway & found Enterprise to be full of employees, something like 5 at the time, none of whom could possibly have picked us up like the company slogan says. Patrick helped us at the counter, and though his personality was extremely delightful, he gave us a bit of enraging news. No economy cars available. No compact. No intermediate. No full size. No premium. So I'll UPGRADE YOU to an SUV for FREE! We needed the car so we took it, but clearly sir, receiving an SUV when I wanted a compact is a DOWNGRADE of highest proportions given today's economy and gas prices. Getting the car that you actually reserved online is not a matter of being the first person into the dealership. It's a little more complicated than that, so here's a genius idea that I'll donate to the company for FREE! Create and utilize computer software that will allow a designated employee to review reservations as they are made and then determine whether someone's reservation can be met properly. Upon returning the stupid gas guzzler, the manager said that he was out when we made our res, but that he would have called us ahead of time had he been in. Unfortunately, he is apparently the only one who would have thought to do that. Too little, too late, good sir. Avoid this particular location if at all possible. I was in a hurry and didn't take time to read other negative reviews, I ended up paying $500. Here's how it went down: The manager was nice, if a little pushy. Things got a little weird when he tried to get me to go for the full coverage (which I declined because my credit card offered protection), but a lot of rental places insist on this additional charge so I didn't think twice. Then the car they gave me was a) dirty inside and out and b) had low tired pressure (the lite was on). I always check the car carefully for scratches. I did this as usual and whatever scratches I pointed out to the employee she just waived off. Then she gave me a ride in my rental car to where my friend's car was parked. She spilled her coffee drink in the driver's seat. She told me, again, not to worry about it because they would detail the car later and that I wouldn't be charged with anything. When we returned the car, they claimed that one of the scratches that was on the door before, that we pointed out and they said it was nothing, was our fault. They agreed not to charge us until we filed a claim with their department and talked to our credit card/insurance company. When we got home they had charged our credit card $1000. I couldn't believe any of this. They eventually removed the $1000 but we (credit card company) ended up paying $500. They said Enterprise does this often and the costs to go to trial with them would be more than the $500. This branch was just terrible from start to finish. It's too bad, because I actually preferred Enterprise (because of the Car Share system) prior to this experience. Now I go anywhere but this branch. read more

This review is in reference to the new location for the North Philly Enterprise at 5847 N Broad St. I rented a car at this location and arrived to receive a car with heavily stained seats (including the coffee spilled right before I got the keys by the employee handing off the car to me), a completely empty gas tank (gas light on) and tire pressure low enough to cause a service light to turn on. There were multiple points of what I thought was damage on the car, but the agent I worked with told me they were all fine and only noted the ones she thought were significant. I guess I should have known enough not to trust her. When my husband returned the car, he was told that one of those marks was not present when I received it and was asked to pay the insurance deductible up front. He insisted that the damage was not new and did not agree to pay the deductible, asking them to charge me for the rental only and work with our insurance company to pursue damages. They acquiesced in person, but when we checked our credit card the next day, we saw they had charged the card $1000 against our wishes, without a receipt, while telling us they would not. (The $1000, by the way was not our deductible, but just a number the agent estimated without contacting our insurance company) When my husband returned the next day to have the charge removed, he needed to spend 20 minutes speaking with the manager before the manager would agree to pursue the insurance deductible separately from the rental bill, noting that his employee's were professional and honest and that they would never rent a car with a dent, so the damage report must be reliable. Our experiences would argue strongly of the opposite. We have rented many times from other Enterprise locations and have had nothing but good experiences. Our experience with at least 3 employees at this location (now at 5847 N Broad St) was of dishonesty and a severe lack of professionalism. If you are forced to rent from this location, be sure to document the condition of your vehicle yourself (take pictures) and check your receipts. read more

Enterprise Rent A Car picked me up in a timely manner. Their customer service was awesome. The agent who got me into my rental car was friendly, helpful and rendered outstanding customer service. She got me in the vehicle quickly. The rental Chrysler 200 was great on gas, clean and a great car to drive. It was comfortable and had lots of features. When needing transportation in the city, I get my rental car from this Broad St location. Highly recommend to others. read more

Customer service nice but they never have vehicles when they open which forces you to upgrade. They tell you vehicles come in at 9 or 9:30 when your reservation us at 7:30am. I should have more then one option for a vehicle rental. The prices are good even though they hold $400 on your credit card and the same for debit but you have to show two bills in your name to go along with the identity. I just recommend them to have more options for rental vehicle for economy or compact and all they have is the same red fiat. read more

I love the weekend special. Considering that I'm a person that likes to discover and tell others about a good deal I get the fact that it might be somewhat of a slight inconvenience to get that deal. Downtown locations don't participate in the $9.99 special? no big deal, I just jump on the Broad St Line and I'm there in 15 minutes. I reserve an economy car and you're out of stock and choose to upgrade me to a bigger vehicle? thanks again, you guys are great - no complaints out of me. Getting ready to go on vacation and they cancel my car reservation the day before and an hour before they close their office for the day. If I could give them a zero I would. Telling me they were forced to cancel reservations because they were forced to give up cars to other enterprise districts. It doesn't matter if you made a reservation to or three months in advance they can't even give me the courtesy of letting you know ahead of time to make other arrangements. I always rent vehicles from this location. The customer service was good, however there was a problem when I rented on Friday, December 15, 2017. This was the day of the snow storm and I had to get my daughter from college. As my oldest daughter and I were driving on 76 with snow and water getting on the windshield, I turned on my windshield wipers and the window became blurry and hard to see out of. I clicked on the windshield wiper fluid and to my surprise there was no fluid. My daughter and I became horrified. I had to turn on my four way flashers the whole way up and back from picking my daughter up from college. I will say that Enterprise did give me two days free, but I shouldn't had to pay at all. Maybe I should have asked to have paid nothing. I told them that they put me and my children lives in jeopardy. Thank God I pray. I will say that the young men working there were very apologetic. Everything went well but the car was dirty on the outside. it was a white car with bird shit all over it. It would have been five stars if they took the time to clean it. First off, the customer service over the phone was extremely helpful. The rep made adjustments to the deposit amount for debit over the phone and was very helpful. I was coming off of an accident and was still a bit loopy, Mario, the person who picked me up was on time to the minute and very courteous and had a refreshing personality. When I arrived at the office it was packed. Amazingly all hands were on deck every worker was smiling joking and working extremely hard and efficiently to aid the customers. A manager Adam came from around the counter that was full of employees working and aided me the next person in line. He explained everything clearly better than I have experienced before. I felt informed about my options and choices. The manager washed the car and I would expect does anything he asks of his staff to do. That's a sign of true leadership.
