I made my reservation over 2 months ago to rent a car. I was given a call and voicemail mid flight that there were no cars available for my reservation since I had made the reservation that week (I didn't). They explained that there was a nascar event and no cars available as well as in locations nearby but that I could call around (they were not willing to provide any sort of basic customer service to rectify the situation.) They couldn't provide me any sort of ETA, any complimentary ride to anywhere even though they were basically leaving us stranded with no solution. Overall I chose enterprise for their known customer service, and while I know they can't control car availability, if you are going to offer no solutions toward a reservation made months prior and no alternatives not even escalating to corporate customer service, you deserve this review. I called the Glendale location MYSELF who was way more accommodating and although short on cars, they not only ensured I had a vehicle but also upgraded me. place was near airport. thanks for "shuttle" ride over - gentleman was nice. place was clean inside. customer service was quick. thank you. our flight experience was aggravating. so thanks for making it quick. though driver and agent was nice, but he car we got was an older car with dings, scratches and tires were very worn. needing a change. we were driving outside of phoenix so was very uncomfortable knowing they were giving us a "lemon". i ensured there was a spare. didn't dive it while at our destination and only drove it back. that was disappointing and quite unnerving. after having quality service at our hometown enterprise, im sad to say i'll never rent front this location again. thankfully, we got to a and b. Was able to rent a Mazda CX-5 for the weekend from this location not far from the Phoenix airport. As someone who rents cars a lot, I received incredible service from Levi who helped me get a great affordable vehicle, checked up on me during my trip, and gave me the option of keeping the car for an extra day beyond my original plan. Day 1 of our two week vacation out West and we decided to rent from this particular Enterprise. Only two things we actually cared about and specifically selected for our rental was that it be midsize or bigger SUV and it be AWD. Employee here (and not specifically faulting the employee) walks us out to a Toyota Highlander. All seems well, but it was not. No signs anywhere indicating the vehicle to be AWD. When asking the employee they timidly say that they believe it is. Upon searching the VIN through Toyotas website I discover it is FWD. meanwhile my wife is speaking inside with said employee who tells her it's AWD, and when I walk in and say for a fact it's not, all of the sudden there are no AWD vehicles at the location. Mind you this is how we started our vacation out west... I can only imagine that it was known all along that the vehicles were not AWD and employees here either assumed we would not notice, or just figured it wouldn't be a big deal for us (it was absolutely a big deal). Legitimately frustrating to the point that I am leaving my first and hopefully only review I ever leave using this App. 0-10 do not recommend... Update: We have now been waiting two hours stuck in the Phoenix area for the district manager or whoever to help resolve our issue. "You'll be getting a call back" they said. Twice. At this point... just use any other rental car company. I know we'll never use Enterprise again. We'll also consider reporting that specific location to the Better Business Bureau. Update to update: HUGE shout out to Jaden with the Enterprise from Skyharbor for getting us exactly what we needed and handling the issue himself as soon as we walked in. I'll let y'all in on a lil secret that I've never rented a car by myself until very recently and I was pretty anxious about the whole thing. I'm so glad I went with this Enterprise location. Not only were they a lot cheaper than the airport location, but they made the whole experience an absolute breeze! I reserved online prior to my trip and when I got there, everything was ready to go and took probably 10 minutes from start to finish. I reserved a compact car and got a Nissan Versa and it was in great condition and very clean. They included an individually wrapped Clorox wipe which was a nice touch. I didn't feel pressured to add any of the insurances or extra things and both employees who checked me in and out were super nice. I had no issues with the car during my 5 day rental. Returning the car was just as easy. If you are headed to PHX, they will drop you off to the Sky Train if you ask them, which is free and drops you straight to the airport. read more

Amazing service! I was in and out with my rental in less than 5 minutes. Everyone was friendly, helpful and quick despite being busy. My car was in an accident so I had to be picked up from a collision center. I can't recommend this enterprise car rental enough!! If any of you have had to pick up cars at the Enterprise at the airport, you know what a nightmare it is. Trying to figure out which level you're supposed to go to, and how to get back out once you have found your car. It is very confusing to say the least. Levi at the E McDowell location was very fast and efficient. We even needed to change vehicles to a truck, and he accommodate us without a problem. The return was just as efficient and easy. Levi also checked me back in and remembered I was going on and tripped and asked me about it. Terrible customer service... If I could only explain to you how much of a dick this CSR was to my dad and I! I wish I had his name because there was another CSR there who was very friendly. Here's the story...my dad already had a car reserved but he was hoping to get a better deal. He comes in and gives the CSR his ID so they could pull up his reservation. The CSR nonchalantly quotes my dad a price that is double what he was going to pay. My dad is like whoa! I already have a reservation and you quoted me this price. Apparently the CSR didn't even bother to ask...he just assumed my dad was coming in off the street and wanting a car. But he never bothered to ask. The whole time he's talking to us, he sounds like he's talking to children. It really was baffling to hear this come out of an adult's mouth, an adult who was representing his company who in-turn wanted to take our money. We finally get the reservation in order and the CSR comes to bring out car around. Then the guy has the audacity to ask my dad for a tip. My dad point-blank says, "You need to adjust your attitude if you ever want a tip from me." Bravo, Dad...bravo. Upon arrival, the person at the reservation counter was super friendly and personable. And when we went to the garage to get our car, the valet out there was also super nice and personable. We were walking past some of the nicer-end cars when he asked us what we were doing in Phoenix. We told him that we are new homeowners of Arizona and he told us to take a BMW for our trip. Racist manager. I relocated to AZ so I had an out of state license. Was informed I needed a credit card or a returning flight. I presented a returning flight and manager refused it. Then she said she would accept a document showing my new address in AZ. I presented her with the lease she denied that. Informed me that she would accept a utility bill which she knew I didn't have because I hadn't yet moved in. Keep in mind when I lived in NM the enterprise located in Clovis NM accepted my Texas drivers license with no issues. I have rented many cars from enterprise with no issues until I got to AZ. After calling to confirm that the car I had reserved online would definitely be available, I showed up in person and was told there would be a five to ten minute wait because the car was on it's way back from an oil change at a shop. I was reassured that the driver was en route with the car. About twenty minutes later, my car was finally available. That is, it was dripping with water on the outside and dusty and dirty on the inside. Gas tank was half full. So I surmise that place doesn't maintain sufficient inventory and, instead of being honest with customers, staff members fudge about the reasons for and length of wait times and, in their rush to turn cars around while customers are kept waiting, they overlook details like dirty interiors. BTW, as I waited, two other customers arrived and were also advised they would have to wait "a few minutes." And in the meantime I heard the counter representative instruct another employee to go "stage" a car. "Stage it?" the employee asked. "Not going to work on it?" Just rented a car from the McDowell location and I am impressed with the staff and the honesty. First of all, compared to the airport, the price was significantly cheaper. We arrived shortly after 5:00 PM and they close at 6:00 so we called them to tell them we may be there just before close and they looked up our reservation and said not a problem, we will wait for you and have your car ready. Best of all, after dropped off the car this morning, the staff called us to tell us we have forgotten something in the car. Probably the best car rental place we have ever dealt with. Edit: I give out countless 5 star reviews. I very rarely give a 1 or 2 star review. I believe in being honest and sharing my experiences. I am a reasonable person and very easy to please. However, I am so disappointed with this experience that I had to share. Yes, the unreliability of Enterprise DID ruin my day trip to Sedona. My time off is very precious to me. Yes, there are two sides to every story but I suggest you take my experience seriously and book with another company. We reserved our car a month in advanced. We were to be picked up the morning of. Due to some confusion on time (not sure if it was 8 or 9am) we called them the morning of to see when they could pick us up. It was then that they told us there were no cars available, and there wouldn't be "for hours". To clarify, our rental was reserved for 9am. We asked if we could wait in our hotel room, just a few miles (literally 3 or 4) down the road, instead of in the cramped office. We had the room until noon so we'd rather be comfortable. They said, no problem, we will let you know when your car is ready. At NO time did they lead us to believe we were not in line to receive a car, quite the opposite actually. We received a call at 1100 saying that they had a car available for us. We went down to the hotel lobby to wait. We called at 1130, they said he was still on his way. Mind you, we were just a few miles down the road. We called at 1200, they said "the driver said that nobody was there so he left". We verified the right hotel, again. Are you kidding me? Finally they come and get my husband and I at 1230. When we finally get there they tell him there is no car available but they will put him in line for one. - Enterprise lied to us. When we got there at 1230, they told us they would NOW put us in line for a car. They couldn't do so before we came to the location. So, we were now behind other people who had reserved cars for later than us (10am or later), because we were not "in line". Are you kidding me?????????? This is the most shocking thing of all. So for those 3-4 hours we waited at our hotel room, we were not even in line!!! We asked, well, why did you call us at 11am saying we had a car? "That was a mistake". When they said that, I then realized that they were playing us when they told us someone was on their way to get us. They probably realized their mistake and were trying to push us off as long as possible. Any reasonable person would realize how downright ridiculous this is but this group of customer-service-idiots apparently thought it was A-Okay. I mean, I just.. can't believe they thought this was okay. "Well these people have been waiting in the office, what do you want me to tell them?" I responded, "You tell them that there are still customers who are waiting for a car they reserved ahead of you, but they decided to wait at their hotel due to the fact that we only have FOUR CHAIRS HERE".. You should all be fired for being so totally clueless. ... For the record, this reason ^^^ is 75% of the reason I am writing this bad review. .... - We didn't get a car until 4pm. People who reserved cars for later than us, got their car earlier than us (though I don't think anyone received a car much before noon - really am still not sure what that call at 11am was about). We were only in town for that day and the next. Without a doubt, Enterprise completely ruined our day trip to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. We didn't have enough time to do everything we had planned on. To add insult to injury, we were now stuck in rush hour traffic trying to leave the city. - I personally witnessed at least 4 or 5 different groups of people who came in to pick up a car for their reservation who subsequently left after yelling how ridiculous it was. I don't blame them. - Also, as we are sitting there, I look over to see that there is a beer can sitting on the desk of an employee, in full view of every disgruntled customer. I was slightly leery about renting a car after reading some of the reviews. But then again, most people really only write bad reviews for rental car companies. I booked through Priceline and got an awesome deal for a compact car; the amount I paid for 6 days was equivalent to the amount previously paid for a 3 day airport car rental. Enterprise had no problems with my reservation and they had a driver pick me up from my apartment (providing an hour window) and straight to the rental car location. The actual location is very clean so they apparently really stepped up their game. Its definitely not as chaotic as a airport rental company and the car they selected was clean and pretty impressive for a Hyundai. The attendant also reviewed the entire exterior of the car with me before sending me on my merry way. Returning the vehicle was also straight-forward. Since I had to catch a flight immediately after returning my rental, they gave me 2 options: (1) Call earlier that day and schedule someone to drive me to Skytrain for free, (2) Call 10 minutes beforehand and they arrange to have a taxi waiting. Since I did not want to risk taking the Skytrain for the first time, I opted for the taxi and they gave me an agreement slip which made the cab ride a $12 flat rate (the meter read around $12.60 so I saved some spare change). Overall, everyone was professional and friendly and I would highly recommend renting a car from this location. As corny as this may sound, this is truly one of the best rental car companies I have come across. One tip: I believe the hours listed on Yelp indicate that they open at 7:30 AM. However, when I called, they did not open/answer phones until 8:00 AM. read more

$182 for their cheapest car available which is a Mitsubishi Mirage for one day and since they are closed Sunday they charge for two days because you have to drop it off on Monday that makes zero sense. Had to go to the Sky Harbor for a car but almost three times the cost. They had many cars there and we had to rent one there, which leads me to believe that there was some type of bait-and-switch here. One of the supervisors helped us out a lot in receiving a discount, but that was too late. This place was unreliable and when you need to be at an important occasion, you can't rely on them here. A man at the hotel the first night had reservations too. The next morning, he missed his appointment after they told him he was set. Nice, nice people, but the service left a lot to be desired. Asked for directions to get us out of town and on our way to Sedona...Taylor suggested we take US 10...it was closed for several miles around Phoenix. The Chevy Malibu was hard to drive. BEST service ever! I was on an extremely tight budget yet wanting to make sure I had the proper insurance coverage too. No credit cards, only debit. After speaking with Spencer here, I was able to make the very wise decision to go with their coverage since all others are 3rd party and do not provide the same things. Debit card was not an issue with a return flight confirmation. I must have called their location at least 10 times in my 2 week rental with questions. I had a sudden need to change my reservation from local to a one way rental. It was a challenge as I only have a debit card. They not only always answered every question patiently and professionally each time but provided a solution I did not think I had. We went from needing a great gas mileage car for a visit to needing a truck to help move family 1500 miles away. They had exactly what we needed!
