The employees who work inside are great and I've had some enjoyable conversations with them on the drive to and from the car body shop (book marks of my rental car teen). I would specifically avoid this location and book through the airport. I booked a truck online, paid extra for the upgrade to a larger sized truck, paid extra for the insurance for the day for the upgraded truck, and then was not given any truck. I was told to contact the airport because apparently the enterprises outside of airports are on a different computer system (c'mon Enterprise you're a multi-billion dollar company get one POS system). So I went outside and called the airport myself, now I'm working for enterprise doing their sales agent's job. The airport did not have any trucks. Their sales agent said they had one at another location (Not 207 East Main Street). The sales agent Miles (from 207 East Main) told me the other locations did not have any trucks. So now I have not gotten my reservation I paid for and also had two different sales people tell me two different things. I go outside to talk to Miles to see what we can do. He was with another customer who made a $40 reservation I heard him talking with the customer. Miles had mentioned to me earlier they had a Gladiator which I didnt want because they get terrible gas mileage and are huge. I wanted the truck I had made a reservation and paid for. . . Miles decides to give the gladiator to the other customer, even though I had arrived first and booked a rental truck. The gladiator was the only other vehicle in the lot with a truck bed so it was my only option, not sure why Miles is showing it to a person who booked a mid-sized sedan. I will never work with enterprise again. They could not even provide good customer service when their website overbooked their location. This is a terrible way to treat people. This is the # 1 store! The assistant manager CINTHIA CORTAZAR is absolutely amazing always goes above and beyond kind courteous. I'll never forget two weeks ago when I returned a car it was almost 7 PM on a Saturday and she was just making sure that everything went well because the manager Austin was out of the office for the weekend and she wanted to make sure when he came back on Monday that Austin had no loose ends that every rental person had a great experience you can really tell she loves her job loves what she does. The whole staff is amazing. I go out of my way to go to this location. It's pretty far for me, but they have the best customer service I have to put Virginia in this as well because I feel like she literally sleeps at this location. There isn't a time I don't go in that she's not there when I pick up a car when I return a car management Austin is just an amazing person all three of these people are such team players they all work together there's no drama they always go above and beyond for their customers to make them happy and even though it's a big company you're treated like it's just a mom and Pop shop. I love the ambience. Everything's always so pristine I can't say enough about this ENTERPRISE location to all the staff at 207 E. Main St. you are very much all appreciated for your hard work and always going the extra mile to please us customers and I will admit it I can be extra. Made reservation for a car at this location. I show up and they tell me they have NO car but have my reservation then proceed to tell me that I can go to another location to pick one up completely screwing up my timeline. I asked the front desk idiot if they could have another location drop off my vehicle at the location I made my reservation and she told me they can't do that. Completely unhelpful, completely screwed up my days schedule, unwilling to help in anyway possible and just stared at me like the dumbass she was. The associate took his sweet time coming to check me in. Then we walked out to the van he checked the mileage and gas on the van that I rented. He got out and said everything was fine. We did a walk around and then I got in the vehicle. Looked at the tire pressure and the back left tire pressure was very low. I put air in it on my way home and within two days, it was back down again. Indicating there's a leak in the tire. I don't understand why this wasn't checked. Now I'm having to switch out the vehicle but refused to go back to that location and will do a location closer to my house that has better customer service. read more

I've used enterprise before, but never have I experienced this. My vehicle was totaled and had to get myself a rental, paid by my insurance. I had my rental for three weeks and I got a call from enterprise stating I was two days pass my day of return. They charged my card for three days total even though they said it was their fault and I was not going to be charged. They stated my session expired because it surpassed my insurance policy, but I get an email from my insurance today, I have until 2/08 to return my rental. I returned my rental and having travel issues to work, so this a HUGE upsetting inconvenience. I will be using another travel service from here on out. read more

I showed up for a rental that I'd had for three weeks and was told there were no cars available. I immediately called customer support and was told that regional management would reach out to me quickly to resolve it. Every day for the last six days, I have been told this exact same thing. Their exact words were "I hope regional management reaches out to you soon." Hope? Are you serious? I have been passed between support reps and there is no sign that Enterprise ever would have been able to provide me with a car. I'm lucky that I was able to secure an entirely alternate method of transportation because otherwise I would have been stranded and forced to spend my holiday alone. Today I turned in my vehicle for repairs, I was then transported to the enterprise location, once there ( even though my insurance was covering everything) I was told I had to give a 50 dollar security deposit, I reached into my pocket a handed them a 50, they refused it stating that they only accept plastic, I stated that the driver ( for their company) has left and I was on foot could I get a ride as I has no transportation to get there, I was told NO, so, me a 61 year old man was forced to walk 6 miles round trip to deposit the money so, that I could then get the car, once I returned I was told that tgey wereb't going to rent me a car because I got upset at having to walk that distance in 90 degree weather, leaving me stranded, its amazing a company that advertises tgeir concern for their customers forced a 61 tear old man to go through this treatment, I find that I now am banned from renting with them ever again, that's a good thing because not only are they right I will NEVER rent from them again but, as my reward I have rented from their competitor(s) for a MUCH cheaper rate and for a longer duration for the rental. Rented a vehicle to drive to and from NYC this week. I got ticketed and towed and they wouldn't give me the rental back because.... Enterprise rented me a car with an expired registration. So I got stuck until the morning using taxis and they finally dropped me a new car but without a GPS that I requested.... Total failure this round from enterprise - good thing I used the entertainment division this should all be comped if they want to keep our companies business. read more

Not only did they rent me a great, comfortable vehicle --- but additionally, Dwight T. provided exceptional customer service, got me off the lot quickly, welcomed me back expediently, and provided Enterprise's trademark "we'll come pick you up" lift back to work. With the exception of Claire, this location is awful. Pray that you never are transferred to the escalation unit. The woman who handles those calls is useless. She'll put and already frustrated caller on hold and never return. She has no concern for customer satisfaction. I have received vehicles that had no washer fluid. I have reserved a mini van, and received an SUV which did not accommodate the number of passengers. Enterprise please train your staff. Recently, my experiences with this location have not been good. It's not until I get Claire that my concerns are taken seriously and remedied. Keep up the great work Claire! read more

My insurance company made a a reservation with them while my car is in the shop. The key word is RESERVATION, as in it is RESERVING something. I take a taxi to the location and they inform me they tried calling me. I ask what number, and it is incorrect. They then say they tried calling me because they have no cars available to rent. I laugh and ask why they took a reservation if they had nothing. They don't say anything. I then ask why they didn't call the insurance company back to let them know, and they say they tried calling me. I once again remind them that they found out the number was disconnected and not good, so shouldn't you have called the insurance company back to let them know so they can make me a new reservation? Once again, silence. I then ask them to transfer it to a different Enterprise location and they inform me nothing is available. Not one freaking car in the entire Richmond area? I don't understand the enterprise company in general. I had rented a car. And I wanted to exchange it because of minor mechanical issues. I went to almost 5 or 6 locations and they all keep saying they don't have cars to exchange. Even when I asked I can take any cars that recently got return but they refused saying those cars needs to get clean up and wait till tomorrow which never heard of that. Crazy. This is a third time I went and it seems none of those locations want to give an exchange. Not recommend enterprise. read more

I have been an exclusive Enterprise renter since March of 2000 and have rented from them across the country. Recently, due to the weather, I had to rent a car for a one way trip home. Not only did I feel robbed by the unbelievable cost for a one way rental, but I was stuck in a crappy car that smelled, had almost no gas and no cruise control even though I had requested it. Next time I am stuck in Richmond, VA, I will pay for a cab to get to the airport Enterprise - they seem to care more about their repeat customs. read more

The 2-star rating is a surprise because in the past this location has served me very well. I often use this location out of convenience and have always had excellent service until now. I think they are simply short-handed, as well as short on cars during the week. I reserved a vehicle a week ahead of time and was asked to be picked up at my home. I had to re-adjust my trip plans because they were almost 2 hours late picking me up, and did not call before arriving. Further, when I finally arrived at Enterprise, not only did they not have a vehicle ready, they did not have the type of vehicle I had reserved a week prior. Owing to my strict trip itinerary (which I could not change and was already late on leaving), I was forced was to rent a vehicle with poor gas mileage (which nearly doubled my fuel budget for the trip). Their excuse was that they were "real busy and had a lot of walk-ins". While that may be, however, it does not justify that fact that you did not communicate with your customer that you were going to be extremely late on pick-up and that you did not hold the vehicle that was reserved a week ahead of time! I know how the business works; you have to plan ahead! Cancellations often occur, but you can always call a customer to make sure they are still on schedule to rent before deciding to give up a reserved vehicle to a walk-in. Repeat customers are valuable; you should strive to keep them. read more
