Excellent experience renting a car here. Cars are right next to rental desk--no shuttle required. Agent gave me the choice of cars and assigned me a very low mileage clean car I was thankful for. When I returned the car the other Agent was just as helpful. Great people were working here when I rented and returned. --- Had a problem using the Toll Device on the car--took that up with corporate and they refunded me one service charge. The device is supposed to charge you only one service charge in a 24 hour period--not a calendar day but the software was charging me a service charge for each day and not waiting 24 hours to charge. Careful driving over NYC Bridges and Tunnels with the device--For example--The Whitestone Bridge does not recognize it and will charge you the same much higher price as if you did not have a device. NYC has all these tricks to get more money out of you. Every-time I drive in NYC they find a way to charge me more money for something. read more

I had originally scheduled with another car rental company a few days prior to a planned day trip. The day before the trip that company called to say they didn't have my vehicle and were a bit challenging and not flexible at all. I luckily found enterprise at islip MacArthur had a vehicle and immediately I reached out via phone to confirm. Ian was a great help over the phone, answering all of my questions for my now last minute rental. I booked online, and when I arrived in the morning, Matt checked me in and was SUPER helpful. He was super friendly and personable and he even helped get me into a vehicle that would better suit my needs, as he had just had a cancellation. He made great recommendations and even followed up with me the next day when I returned the car to ask not only how the vehicle was, but how my trip and stops were in general. I have to start by saying I have never written a review for a car rental company. I don't know why, maybe because its just been a typical rent a car return it and done. So it started with me booking a flight on Frontier and they offered a "bundle package" with a car through another company and I thought it was high so I called Enterprise. The first quote came in just as much or even higher I cant recall. But I told the Enterprise lady the quote I got from Frontier and she did some keyboard clicks and said she could put me in a pick up truck for cheaper than the regular car from them or Frontier. OK perfect lets book it. I did have some concern as I drive a 2 door Jeep and that thing fits into almost any spot and not I am going to be driving something almost twice as long. Eh if its snowing or raining I will be better off. I show up to the airport and there were 2 men behind the counter. I showed them email and they asked for license and some questions and while I was talking to them I asked if they had anything else other than the pick up without it being extra money. Sometimes people drop off early etc. I dont know if it was me telling them my concern about driving something so long or they really did just have an extra regular size car but either way I got a Hyundai Elantra at no extra charge. I was at the counter in driving away in the car within 10 minutes. The day or or maybe the day after me renting the car I got an email from Enterprise checking to make sure everything was OK. I told them it was and liked that they actually followed up. Returning when they are not open is super easy just park and throw keys into a key return on their desk. I always do a walk around video before and after I drop off just in case and I left. I landed and received another email confirming they received my keys and wanted to make sure I was completely satisfied. I told them that the only issues I had was the back window was dirty and there was some sort of steering assist turned on which was a pain because it would actually turn the wheel slightly on turns but this was a car thing and in no way an Enterprise thing but I could not figure out how to turn it off so wanted them to know to possibly turn off for next customer. I immediately received a reply offering me $25 for the "inconvenience" and would let the people who clean the cars know. After this experience I will 100% rent from Enterprise again. Its usually a "who is cheaper" thing with car rentals but the customer service I received stood out like no other car rental company and sometimes service might be worth a few dollars more. But also I know they will work with finding you a cheaper option to fit into your budget. Thank you Enterprise!! read more

I have been to numerous car rental places all over the US and Germany, but today was probably one of my most favorite visit at the Enterprise location at the MacArthur Airport in ronkonkoma. Nick was just outstanding with his customer service!!! He made the rental process fast and easy, did not try to force me into anything unless I asked for and was just a pour gentleman. I was very happy with the car rental, when I picked up the car everything was great. The Toyota was a cool little car, it practically drove itself. Not as comfortable as my truck Thais making a noise that not going to drive very far. THE THING THAT HAPPENED IS I HAD LEFT EZ PASS IN CAR on Monday didn't not realize until Thursday afternoon. I tried to call for almost 2 hours and kept either being put on hold . I had left message no reply. So I went down when I was asked if I had reservation I explained what happened the guy looked for it for a couple of seconds told me the wash crew would have dropped it off . I asked if they could check if car was still there or was rented he said it should be rented and if they find it they will let me know. I wish I could post a review without giving one star because Enterprise doesn't even deserve one. We had a reservation for this evening at 1130pm, got a confirmation email at 10pm about the reservation and showed up on time for the reservation only to find out that enterprise CLOSES AFTER THE LAST FLIGHT and doesn't notify people with reservations. NOBODY contacted us, and we have NOBODY to get in touch with/get help with another rental this evening until 8am tomorrow morning- delaying our extremely important trip by an entire day. We specifically chose to pick up the car this late FOR A REASON. I will be formally submitting a complaint because this is absolutely awful. The only person we could find at MacArthur was an off-duty cop who explained an entire family was stranded just last night for the same reason. We will NEVER use enterprise again if this is the way they treat their customers. Beware to anyone who books a rental car with a late flight. read more

I was so happy with how quickly the enterprise agent processed my car rental. There was a person on line before me going over pricing, and the attendant asked him to step aside so he could wait on me. When I got off the flight I rushed over and got right on line. I guess when he saw me walk up fast, he knew I wanted to get out of there. There is nothing worse than getting off a flight and you go to get your car and there's only one person working. It can take at least a half an hour and you can get so impatient. Some agents I've had take their sweet a** time. But this guy didn't. Thank you God! The car I got is fine and he did not pressure me to get insurance or ask too many questions, so I am happy to give them 5 stars. Rented a car from Enterprise at MacArthur Airport. Matthew G. Was so professional, polite and just wonderful to deal with and gave me a great experience. Dropping off the car Chris B was professional and polite as well and greats you with a smile. Both the gentlemen actually look like they like their job. That's hard to come by these days. The whole process from beginning with Matt to then end with Chris was hassle free and a very good experience. After using another rental agency a month ago I new I needed to try someone else and I'm glad I did. I had an amazing rental experience at this location last year, which is why I chose them for this years trip to Florida. I had reserved a "standard SUV" and upon arrival I was offered a Nissan Rogue or Hyundai Santa Fe. I advised the rep that neither of these vehicles would hold 5 bags as the website had stated a standard would. She informed me that's all they had with the explanation of "I only work here." I requested a manager at which time she told me she was the manager. Reluctantly we agreed to the Santa Fe, walked to the site number and found a Hyundai Tucson. Returned to the counter and told her this was an even smaller SUV and that a Pathfinder was in the lot. To make a very long story short, we were given the Pathfinder....which is the most filthy rental car I've ever been given. See attached pictures. The people at Enterprise here at Islip are terrific. They always go out of the way to provide you with the best possible service. My fiance and I are avid listeners to books on cds. They help make the time on long boaring trips fly by. Long story short it seams most rental cars now don't have cd players. T A staff member at Enterprise went through many cars in their lot to find one with a cd player. With over 1000 miles of driving in two weeks it was great. Cars at this facility usually have very low mileage. A nice plus. read more

They've kept the cost of the rental as a hold on my credit card for more than a week, despite the charge going through and my paying it. I posted a review on Enterprise's Corporate web site on 1/7/17. THEY DELETED IT! So now I'm yelping it. I will just say this about the 7th, in a major snow storm the supervisor was majorly unprofessional. I can't believe they left this "Kid in Charge" of a major operation. Here we are 11 days later and we are fighting to have the hold released from our American Express card. I won't bore you with the level of aggravation we just experienced. After 2 hours of phone calls with the branch and corporate office and getting AMEX with Authorizations on the phone...... we finally get a young guy by the name of Mike Laface from the local airport Enterprise on the phone who resolved our problem in a matter of 3 minutes TOPS. HE GOT IT! We rented, returned, resolved the account with a different card and now 3 days later, we want the holds on our AMEX RELEASED!!!! How difficult is that? Don't tell me about an imaginary release no one can see or confirm..... RELEASE IT! Mike Laface got the job done. Enterprise really needs to get themselves together. From the incompetent Supervisor who fails to offer a solution in the middle of a storm, to the dirty rental car and the blame game from corporate, Enterprise is a MESS!!!! The number of negative reviews on the corporate web site is a clear indication of the level is service on should expect. ....and to think I've been renting from Enterprise exclusively for over 16 years...... This place is very disappointing because I felt I was given the run around. I wanted to reserve a card on a corporate account and spoke to them prior to the rental. I did not have the billing code because our account was being updated. They told me it would be fine and to bring the billing code to them at the end of my rental. I got the billing code brought it to them thinking everything is fine. After a month I get a bill from Enterprise on my credit card. Will never go back here again which is annoying because they are open on Sundays. read more

When THRIFTY cheated us out of money when our trip was cancelled because of COVID, we were hesitate at first to use another company. Enterprise staff was extremely nice and helpful. She upgraded us to a new car because the one we rented would've been too small to hold our luggage and other items. She gave us a clear price for each car and didn't try to push us into renting an expensive one. The best part was that they didn't charge us until we got the car. I've used Enterprise Rental at MacArthur/Islip airport five times now, and they have been consistently great. I am a private pilot and fly into MacArthur (KISP) with my own plane. I use Sheltair Aviation for fuel and service while there. Enterprise is a very short walk from where I park my plane, and the cars are literally right out front of the Building. Can't be much more convenient. The staff is fast and efficient at getting me into my car and away for my business appointments. They recognize me now and extend even more of a personal touch. Drop offs are equally painless and just as fast/efficient as you would hope them to be. Whether you are a private pilot and fly into this airport yourself, or flying commercial airlines, you should have a good experience with Enterprise there. read more

I had reserved a vehicle some time back at the airport but later caught the pickup location was moved. While I think it was a glitch, I had no way to prove this. Because I had to make a new reservation and could not just move where I was picking up the car, I lost a huge discount I was getting via promo code. In the end it cost me $340 more than it was supposed to. Be sure to double check your pickup location. The service of the people there was fine for me. Once I walked out to my car, I noticed the Canadian license plate on it. No big deal... but I found out the speedometer was in km/h once on the road. It wasn't worth turning around. I just had to look at the inner dial for my speed. Still, a slight inconvenience. The plate did kind of paint me as an obvious tourist and a few people tried to take advantage. The car worked fine and was clean. The people were fine. I wasn't happy with the price, but I guess it was standard. The upcharges were a slap in the face but I guess that's also standard depending on your insurance. It was a lot more expensive than I would have liked. I rarely travel so I'm not used to these kind of things. read more

This is the Enterprise that is at the Long Island/Islip MacArthur Airport. I helped my dad reserve with them through the AARP discount program. My grandmother passed away and we flew in through Islip and just needed a car to get to our hotel down the road and the funeral home about 10 minutes away. The agents were all kind and worked quickly (we were all dressed in black/dark colors, so that may have been a hint) They asked about upgrades, but did not pressure us. The agent who took us to the car and went over everything, but made sure we were set. We were sort of in a hurry just so we could check into the hotel and rest for an hour before the memorial service, but Enterprise really got us out of there easily. Had a nice Chevy Malibu that was clean and neat. We returned it the next morning. My dad had pre-purchased a 1/4 tank of gas because we didn't know if we might go over to my aunt's house, but we did not. He asked about that charge being refunded because we literally drove about 15 miles. The agent said no problem and actually reversed the charge. My dad was pleasantly surprised since he had no expectation of them changing that. Definitely would recommend them for their service and value here at MacArthur airport. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. Booked a minivan back in November through expedia for our spring break (this April) trip to Florida. Thank goodness I called two days before to see about picking up the van a day early so we could pack only to find out that they could not find our reservation with the reservation number I had been given from then in the email when I booked the trip. Basically told nothing they could do. The had no other vehicles to accommodate the size of my family and we were plain out of luck!!! Vacation ruined!!!!!!!!! we were able to use another company for triple the price because It was last minute. Expedia had all of our information on file and correct so there was an error on Enterprises part!!! read more

We picked up a car on 6/24/2019; on 6/26/2019,it broke down and needed towing. We are in a safe place, however, it was at a beach, and quite a way from our hotel. When we called for Emergency Assistance, we were informed we had two options: One was to wait 3 to 5 hours for a car exchange. The other, the company would send a tow truck for the car promptly, but we would have to get our own transportation from that site, and they would repay us. Really!!!! We are at a disadvantage, because their car malfunctioned, yet to be left high and dry until they were good and ready to provide for a pickup. And this is Long Island, New York, where there are several Enterprise locations, with available cars, if you wanted to rent one. But because this was THEIR fault, and THEIR expense. we had to wait that long for a pickup. We WERE members of their loyalty program, but the other car rentals have to better than this. read more

Dispicible Quoted one rate by an agent then was told to go online to get a better rate that rate was higher and tried to cancel it and the agent I spoke with when I called back gave me an even higher rate. All this happened within 5 minuets. What a total ripoff to the public. Shame on Enterprise they should be kicked out of the airport for such low down dirty business practices. I wish I could rate this provider in 2 steps. The pricing, product and service were extraordinary and definitely 5-star. The problem was when my plans changed and my return flight was changed to JFK I called to see what the drop off charge was and the difference in price was over $400 to drop off the car at another airport 40 miles away. They said it was because they had to reprice the entire rental which is not an acceptable excuse. I was willing to pay around $100 to drop it off at JFK which I'm sure would have been good for Enterprise and good for me. This policy sucks and needs to be fixed!!! read more

I needed a last minute rental car at Islip/MacArthur Airport due to flight delays and missed connection causing my ride home from the airport to fall through. The people at the desk at Enterprise could not have been nicer. The assistant Branch manager even walked me out to the nice, clean and nearly new car and put my luggage in the trunk for me. There was a slight mis-communication that caused a billing issue and I had a little trouble reaching anyone on the phone to straighten it out. But when I went back to the airport rental location, the agent took care of it in a flash, even giving a courtesy discount as an apology. It was a pleasure dealing with Enterprise personnel and I would not hesitate to recommend them. read more

I travel quite a bit and, even though I check the prices at other car rental places, I almost always end up at Enterprise. The recent rental at Islip on Long Island was fast easy and thorough. The two step checkin process at other airports, such as National, can be a bit of a pain, but they are always thorough and fully informed. i rented a car through costco for about $400, a chrysler 200 when i arrived they didn't have one and wanted to put me in a chevy - cruze. not of equal value. i gave them 2 months notice and the flight i was coming in why no car!!! i had to pay for an upgrade so it ended up costing me over $800. why can't i get what i reserved on-line? and why do i have to pay for an upgrade they messed up? what is this bait and switch? read more

I've use enterprise all the time. I always get the extra insurance and pay for a full tank of gas in advance. This last trip I thought I did the same, but when I got home I looked at bill and was charged $2.59 a gal for gas, when the prepaid price was $1.59. I emailed main office and airport location no reply. read more
