My husband and I rented a car for one month. Upon picking the car up we noticed that the "oil change needed soon" light was on. Customer service told us not to worry about it. About a week later the "oil change needed NOW" light came on. We took it back to the airport and was told they could not exchange it and it was okay to drive car. About a week later, my husband went to start the car which was in a garage and the battery was dead. Enterprise told us they would send somene to jump the car that night. By 11:00 pm no one had shown up. At 6:00 am the next morning someone showed up. Glad we weren't stranded on the side of a road. Do not rent from Enterprise at the airport. I've been using Enterprise for over 2 decades, when i had the fastest growing business in San Diego, Enterprise had MY account, so i probably know what good service from a rental base is better than anyone. This is two hours late -- because management doesn't actually ensure that the right inventory is available based on customer reservations. They use the "or similar" clause in the rental agreement to rent you whatever they haphazardly happen to have. I will never consider using Enterprise again. Last week I made an appointment for some body work. They had no loaner available but referred me to Enterprise. Just 2 blocks down the street. I made a reservation to pick a car up on Tuesday on 9/26 last week. On 9/30, 20 minutes before closing for the day they sent me a cancellation. They didn't have any more cars to rent. What is the sense in making a reservation if you don't plan to honor it? When I called to complain all I got was we are sorry. I asked to speak with the manager. I was told I was going to be bumped to a regional manager. A few minutes later I got an email with a phone number and a link. Neither is operable. read more

This is the best rental car experience I've had in a long time. When I initially picked up the car, the manager made a point to introduce his self to me. He wanted to make sure I was comfortable with the car. I rented an inexpensive Nissan. It was brand new and very clean. The last few times I rented cars they weren't very clean. So this was a plus. Derek called mid week to check in and make sure all was well. My drop off was at another location. But that didn't stop Derek from making a last call. He wanted to double check that all was well. Absolute crap experiences at the 1003 N Washington location in Sarasota. Today I had a confirmed reservation and when I showed up (after a $20 Uber ride) they told me they couldn't honor it because "it was made the same day and there were 35 people ahead of me." Took another $20 Uber ride home and will have another one this afternoon to another Enterprise location. Past experiences at this location include repeated unanswered phone calls and renting me a damaged vehicle which leaked oil all over my driveway. The manager keeps assuring me he'll make everything right, but apparently his efforts do not include honoring reservations. read more

I made a reservation for a particular car and booked it for a same day pick up. Upon arrival, they did not have the car that I booked and tried to give me something that was not appropriate for my needs. this was truly an upsetting experience because I specifically booked the car with the space that I needed for my comfort and for the comfort of my family. I could not understand why Enterprise would offer me to book a vehicle they knew they did not have available at the location I wanted to pick up from... My efforts to transfer the reservation to another location was futile too. Lastly, the employees handling the matter did not seem to care, nor did they make a concerted effort to try to get the vehicle that I actually needed. They kept taking new customers and ignoring me... When I asked them for assistance with locating a vehicle of my need they made minimal efforts to do so. I had to reschedule my scheduled appointment and tried to get my reservation moved to another location that actually had the car that I needed available. When I tried to rebook later that evening the prices went up significantly. I have been renting from this location for many years and this type of service has been a pattern for quite some time. I rent from this location out of necessity, but I have to start considering other options since I am going to be doing some long term rentals soon and this is not an ideal scenario for me. read more

Manny was very nice on check-out at the airport. We had a problem with the car starting the next morning (dead battery) and I'm not sure why that happened. The process was easy from the reservation, to pick up, to the return. All the employees were friendly. The pick up desk employee made sure I was able to get a vehicle to accommodate my trip and the return employees were very friendly and helpful. My trip was for my fathers memorial and enterprise being so helpful made the trip a bit easier read more

WORSE SERVICE EVER - I schedule a reservation for 12/9 - 12/16/23 for $576 to pick up from Enterprise at the Sarasto International Airport and return it to the same location, for our family vacation. On Thurs 12/14, Enterprise charged my credit card $2,421 for someone going from Sarasota to Dallas, TX. I call twice on 12/14 with no help, again on 12/15, was told by the attendant at the airport on 12/16 it would be corrected. I continued to call each day for a total of 10 calls until they final credited my $1,845 back on 12/21, which was 8 days later. I never received a call back from Enterprise and I was even told at least 4 times, we are contacting Zach, the manager at Enterprise at the Sarasota Airport, to have him contact you to correct this issue. On 12/23, they hit my credit card for the same $1,845 they had just credited back to me. I am in the process AGAIN of trying to get my money back. This was the worst experience I've ever had renting a car. When I picked up the car it was wet. So I couldn't see if there was any damage. When I returned the car I checked for any damage. I didn't hit anything and noone hit me. Yet when I returned the car the attendant refused to inspect the car told ne to park it and drop the keys in the overnight. I called the next day to see when my deposit would be returned they told me it had been released that morning. 2 days later I get an email telling me that the car was damaged. They refused to tell me what the damage was. How do I know that the attendant who refused to inspect the car didn't take it out joy riding. First and last time I ever rent from Enterprise! read more

I had the unfortunate experience of being handled by an incredibly pushy pregnant blond representative behind the counter. This rep tried to convince me that my credit card insurance was not enough coverage just to upsell me $20 a day. Couldn't understand "no thanks". I have used Enterprise about 8x in the last 2 years for business travel and never met a rep as misleading and aggressive as her. I've rented cars here for years at the Sarasota airport, but never from Enterprise. When I returned the car it was not clear where to do so. Odd. When I did find it, the person checking me in did not ask me to open all the doors and the trunk to see if left something which had always been the case before. Of course, I left something. I don't know where to start, I have tried my best to continue to do business with Enterprise Rent a car on Clark Rd., Sarasota. Ist time I had a reservation to pick up a car on Saturday. When I arrived at prescribed pick up time and the associate told me we are closed and we don't have any cars anyway as he drove off. 2nd time, I had a reservation, I called ahead and let the store know I was 15 minutes behind, they said no problem we will be ready for you. I arrived at 3:15 on Thursday. When I get there, there were 10+ people all waiting for cars and reservation or not, I am # 11. 5:00 pm rolls around and as we close the door saying sorry please come again, again I leave without a car. I vowed not to go through this frustration again. By coincidence, I was purchasing tires across the street and because of workload and labor being shorthanded, the manager at Tires Plus was kind enough to say hey, let me get you a car for the night. I am escorted across the street and as soon as the the Tires Plus associate left, the Enterprise Rep said I need a $ 50 deposit for incidentals as if there was a mini bar on board. Two weeks later and three phone calls I finally get my $ 50.00 back. Two days later, they hit my card for $ 39.00 I called and was assured it would be corrected. A week later I look to see if it was refunded and it was not. I called and expressed my mounting concern for the issue and 2 hours on the phone I am informed that they forgot to mention the fact that they arbitrarily added a damage waiver for a day and looking for praise that my $ 50 was refunded. I request a manager to participate since I was getting NO WHERE after the first 45 min and then I am on Hold for anther 45 min only to spend the next 20+ minutes getting a lecture on paying closer attention to what I sign in the future and check this....the amount of time that had passed was added to the bizarre reasoning I could not get a full refund. All I can say is beside opting out of using this Enterprise location again, make sure your sense of business ethic is in being open minded to interpretation, be sure your patience is in check, have plenty of time on your hands, have plenty of money on hand and just consider it a life lesson to simply avoid. Great Service @ Enterprise I had to visit Enterprise three times over the past month as a result of Ford recalls and every time the service i received was fantastic - they were very professional and polite, were extremely helpful in choosing vehicles and provided useful information regarding rentals/damages/gas etc. I don't have information regarding rental rates as they were all covered by Ford but the vehicles i had (Escape, Expedition, Mustang) were all in excellent condition. I would definitely use Enterprise in the future should i have a need. My only gripe was that on at least one occasion when i was picked up at the dealership by Enterprise, the driver was texting/emailing while driving. read more

I've rented two cars now from this Enterprise office in Sarasota. I'm pleased to say that I've been satisfied or more so on each occasion. Today I was particularly pleased that when I returned my car they drove me back to my home without any hesitation and with really good service. I'll be back in November and I will be happy to use them again as they are efficient and the cars were great too. The best part of course was the price. I know it's off-season, but I was still please just spend about $25 a day on my 2019 Hyundai. They use a funky system with interns, but that's OK we all were young once. read more

Terrible. Stopped at Sarasota airport to pick up a car. I get it my fault I did not make a reservation Silly me...,, thought they might direct me to their other enterprise satellite locations????? Nope. Then went on my own using google..... I actually looked for locations on my own. I still looked at Enterprise...... Duh I called the 800 number for Enterprise. Talked with a nice gal and she made a reservation at a satellite location. Finally someone that could help me. When I got to the location they said sorry no cars. I stated that I had a reservation but they said they screwed up. Once again. No offer to help me out and call other locations. Which they had several other locations in the Sarasota area. I guess I am writing this review because I get aggregated when people or corporations feel that they are above you. They have no time to help the customer or the person that does not know the area and needs help. I eventually found a car through Hertz and will not waste my time with Enterprise. Maybe corporate should pay a little more attention. read more

I didn't have a very good experience at this rental car location or the Tampa airport location where I had to trade the car because I was given a dirty, smelly car (smelled of smoke and pets). Customer service was great to trade it due to my child having asthma and the car had actual ashes in it. They did not reimburse me for the gas I put in the car though. It was not convenient at all. Also this location didn't have a car for me when I showed up even though I made the reservation the night before and called to be picked up that morning so they should have told me right then they had no cars for me (they had cars, but said they were for other reservations) so after getting my information and making me wait, they made me sit in the back of a hot SUV to transport myself to another location west of this location to get the dirty rental with 1/4 tank of gas that I had to fill immediately since I live 30 minutes from the alternate location. The other rows were full of employees and the black SUV was full of white dog hair. They told me they don't really clean or fill up tanks so just bring it back the way I got it. Nice. I actually found the rental contract of the previous renter in the car and gave it to them. Last rental with Enterprise ever. For reference, I have rented cars for over 20 years and this is my only bad experience. The Tampa airport wasn't good only because it took over an hour to trade the dirty vehicle because the young man trading it wasn't trained yet. Other than that the Tampa location gave me a clean car. And the only reason I was renting in the first place was because my brand new (weeks old) mini van was rear ended and being fixed. My guess is this location doesn't make much money on insurance rentals so that is why I was treated poorly. Shame on them. read more

Rented a car from Enterprise while my auto was being repaired at the body shop down the street for a few days and ended up being 9 days. My contact was Jake Austin, Asst Manager at Enterprise. What impressed me was Jake asked me what I was driving for a auto. I told him a loaded Lexus small SUV. He said he wanted to rent me a auto very similar to what I was driving to make it easier on me, and he did. He was a great agent and very understanding. The auto not only was clean but also had a clean windshield, which most rental car companies do not clean. The special rate was arranged by the auto body shop, and Jake did not try to switch and bait me for additional costs which also impressed me. I enjoyed doing business with Enterprise very much and not only will I highly recommend this Enterprise office as well as dealing with Jake, but I also told the auto body shop about my good experience. By far the worst experience I had renting a car. A friend came with me a week before the rental date because we wanted to make sure we could rent the car as we are both under 25. The clerk told us that we could and that in the case we couldn't pay with a credit card; as the main driver didn't have one and my driver's license is expired; we could use a debit card with our flight info. We then reserved the car and they printed out a paper with our confirmation so we could show that on the date we had chosen. Fast forward one week, we went there early so we could go to Miami as we had already planned our first day of vacations, counting we would depart Sarasota at 8:30 am, and during the payment process, they declined all our payment options and didn't accept the debit card payment even though we had been told a week earlier than we could, and they denied any information we were given before. Then we had to go to the airport and search for a different company that could accept our payment and had any cars available, making us waste hours of our day and having to pay more for the rental, as it was a last-minute thing. I recommend going to a local rental if you are trying to rent a car in Sarasota, as this was a terrible experience. read more

I've rented several cars from Enterprise in Sarasota and have always found the experience to be really nice. There were times when I would show up without a reservation only because of unexpected auto repairs and Enterprise would always manage to find me something to drive. They rented me a luxury van, which isn't my favorite, but who can complain when you show up without a reservation. The town and country van came fully loaded with a backup camera and all. They even gave the rental to me at the compact car price! The agents are super nice and pretty fast at getting the customer in and out. Jake is pretty awesome. He really knows what it takes to make a customer happy. My only little complaint would be that the cars are at times a little dirty inside. Wiping down the interior and cleaning the windshield seems to be a problem with "all" rental car companies. What I do like is the "fuel price" they charge for returning the car without the same amount of fuel it had in it. I always take advantage of that. If I could make a wish with Enterprise, I would say that it would be nice if the Sarasota location (Washington Blvd) could be opened on Sunday too. Even if it were for only three to four hours. A lot of people need to rent cars on both weekend days, especially for those unexpected emergencies. I now know where I will go to rent my cars. I would highly recommend this location to anyone who wants great service. read more

Sorry there is not a zero to rate these people. I arrived with my 81 year old husband at the Sarasota airport. Thinking I had reserved a car there through AARP I discovered it was at another location. I was okay with that but when the agent told me where to go he failed to mention the other location was closed on a Saturday at noon! After a $40 taxi ride we get to Enterprise at 5101 Tamiami it is closed. The Manager was inside and would not open the door. We were forced to make other expensive arrangements. I am a Missouri native and would love to be able to support a company from my Native state but believe me I will never and neither should you EVER rent from Enterptise read more

Very impressed with Enterprise and the customer service I received from this branch not once but twice in a 1 week span. First time Wyatt helped me and I was fortunate to receive an upgrade after selecting the "click it we pick it" option on my online reservation. I was in and out of there in 10min total. Then, I was informed my car would be in the shop for an extra week so I called Enterprise and spoke to Jeff who was a tremendous help and provided more outstanding customer service. I was able to keep the current car I was in and the price was more than fair for the additional week and I did not have to even drive over there as it was all handled over the phone in 5min. Next time I need a car rental, there is no question I will visit this branch due to how I was treated by Wyatt and Jeff who could not have been nicer and provided great customer service both times. They made the process so very easy. It's a pain in the neck when our cars are in a shop or being serviced so when handling the rental car is made that easy and that pleasant, it is a big help. I wish I could give zero stars but in order to leave a review I need to at least leave one... I have been a loyal customer of enterprise over the past few years with my constant traveling for work. I have always been satisfied with their level of customer service; however, my experience at this location has made me strongly reconsider using a different rental company. Upon entering this branch, I witnessed what I assume to be management berating the employee behind the desk. It took over a minute for the manager to acknowledge my presence and end her explicative rant towards her employee. I was the only customer present at the time. When I finally got acknowledged at the rental desk the employee was noticeably distraught and it was very uncomfortable for me as a customer. I have never experienced such a blatant lack of professionalism. I will be taking my business elsewhere next time I am traveling to this area. read more

Our wait at the pickup store was over an hour, and the car we got had oil in it that was as thick and black as oil coming out of the ground. The oil change indicator was down to 10%. We asked for a different car and were told none were available and they'd contact us when one came in...that never happened, we had to go back ourselves and get a car, the 3rd such interruption to our vacation. I use month or more to reserve a car when we go to Florida, I never even check other rental agencies. This year was the 15th year I've done so, and I reserve in January for an April rental, @ nearly $1000.00/month, plus a couple of days, that's $15,000 to Enterprise, without question. Plus I do a Sept. trip to Colorado every year and again it's Enterprise. I've had problems there as well, a 2hr wait in 2015 and over an hour in 2016. Now I realize you're busy, but renting a dirty car is unexceptable! I have reserved a car for this Sept. as this will be the deciding year as to how I proceed with rental cars.
