If there's one thing Enterprise on Georgia Ave got right, it was the customer service. 100% I was already stressed dealing with my car being in the shop, so I wasn't exactly in the most talkative mood. Winston, the employee who picked me up from the mechanic, was doing the most--asking a million questions and trying to keep the conversation going. I know he genuinely meant well and was just providing great customer service, but I was mentally somewhere else. Even though I was a little cold, he never took it personally. He kept checking in on me during the wait for my rental and was a complete gentleman the entire time. I ended up with a really nice electric/gas hybrid as my loaner, and I honestly had zero complaints. The return process was just as easy, and they even gave me a ride back to the body shop to pick up my car (a week later). From start to finish, the customer service was top-tier, and I definitely appreciated how smoothly they handled everything during an already stressful situation. read more

This location is conveniently located a quick walk from the Silver Spring metro and often has rates significantly lower than Washington DC locations. The staff were courteous and helpful. That being said, inventory was limited and may not be managed effectively. I booked a specific type of vehicle for a very specific need. 2 hours before pickup, I was informed that my vehicle was not available and was given options that did not meet my needs. I had to call the local branch and had to call multiple times before being connected. Again, I was given options that did not meet my needs. Given the late notice and now 30 minutes from pickup without the issue being resolved, I was left with limited options. Nothing really could have made it right - I ordered a specific car, for a specific time and occasion, well ahead of time and this location did not deliver. I had to share what could make it better, and the branch accommodated as best they could. The staff were professional and worked through my frustration and disappointment constructively. However, I'm leaving the experience skeptical of this branch and Enterprise in general and my next booking will be with a different company. read more

My wife rented a car from here. First of all, the car had so many scratches... then the change oil light kept coming on over and over, she had to take it back. Front desk rep said: it's fine, not due for an oil change. Dude to safety reasons, she switched it and got another car... that one, well, numerous dents... no privacy, you can see right through the glass even if you're standing 3 blocks away. read more

They were incredibly effective at addressing all of my needs, stayed friendly even during busy moments, and took the time to answer every question I have had without making me feel rushed. A special shout-out to Erin, who truly went above and beyond. I realized after returning my rental that I had left a personal item inside the vehicle. Erin did not hesitate to help; she went out of her way to track it down and ensure I got it back. It is rare to find this level of customer service these days. Although Enterprise is not my typical go-to for car rentals, I had to utilize their services because my auto insurance collaborates with them. Since my current car was in the shop for repairs, I kind of had to go with with my insurance company recommendation. For the most part, I thought the service at this Enterprise was pretty good in terms of face-to-face customer service and over the phone. Prior to picking up my rental, I selected the type of vehicle using an online form. Since my current car is a compact SUV, I wanted to rent something that was a similar size or a bit smaller. Upon arriving to the location, I was a bit annoyed to learn that they selected a huge SUV (one with three rows of seats) for me. Ok, I get that many car rental places do this, but why ask customers what they would like to drive if you are just going to give them something else? From my impression, it seemed like there was nothing I could do about the size of the rental. A friend who works in auto insurance told me that many rental places tend to give out the big SUVs for auto-insurance-related rentals because regular customers really don't rent the larger vehicles. Within 60 minutes of having the SUV, I noticed that the engine was revving very high at very low speeds. I took the car back to the location and explained the situation. The agent to whom I spoke looked at me as if I had 10 heads when I explained the situation. After listening to my complaint, he mentioned that he needed to speak to his manager to switch out the SUV. I overheard him tell the manager that a customer had a complaint, but he didn't know what was going on. I'm not really sure why he didn't know what was going because I thought that I explained the situation in a VERY clear manner. Long story short, the manager was pretty cool about the situation and promptly switched out the SUV. I indicated that wanted a smaller vehicle, but once again ,a large three-row SUV was given to me, and I was told that was the only option. Since I figured that trying to get a smaller vehicle was going to be a losing battle, I decided to go on my way. Note the location is a bit small and the parking lot, which is shared by 2-3 other business, is very tight. read more

I just had to cancel my credit card due to me receiving an email stating I was going to be getting a toll fee for a rental for a date I did not have it for. This is on top of being overcharged for 5 days for a rental I reserved when I only had it for 1. Despite me reaching out in person and over the phone trying to escalate this and see if anything can be done, nothing has been, which has been very discouraging for me to want to use Enterprise as a whole based off this branch's service. Even my email about the whole situation with provided receipts and such to the manager (provided to me by the manager off a business card he gave me) did not even send through for whatever reason. I do not like to write poor reviews or go through hassles like these as a customer just trying to get by like everyone else but this is a lot just for reserving a rental for ONE day, over a month ago, with no resolution whatsoever. read more

I had a reservation for a non-specific car made by my insurance company without a date for pick-up. Go to hell: They were supposed to be at the auto shop at 11. It is now 11:45. They never showed up and are not answering the phone!!!! Update: The manager (boy) and his lapdog assistant manager (girl) are HORRIBLE people. After Enterprise arrived an hour late, they attended to another customer first who entered the building after me. On top of that, they gave me the WRONG size vehicle. When I asked the girl why they attended to the guy first, she FALSELY made it about race. She claimed that I said they attended to him first because he was White, which I never said. They ended up wasting 2 hours of my life and I missed a medical appointment as well as a meeting. They refused to give me the key to my rental and rented the vehicle to another customer as I was standing there. Those 2 are very aggressive and vindictive people who weren't raised right. I booked a car through Enterprise for government travel. This was my third trip in a short period of time. Kennedy, who said he was the regional manager, was at the desk. I had hoped to avoid home based upon my previous experience with him, but he was the only person at the desk at the time. He insisted that I needed a second phone number to rent a car. I told him I didn't have one (we don't have a land line). He insisted I give him a second number. I told him I wasn't giving out my husband's number when he wasn't renting the car. He asked about a work number. I told him I don't use my work phone. He then refused to rent to me. I had booked through SATO / E2, or federal travel agent. This was a contractual agreement that he violated. I then told him I'd give him my work number. He told me that I'd already told him I didn't use it, that he was not renting to me, that he remembered that I was a problem from my previous rental, and that I'd have to rent somewhere else. I ended up adding nearly two hours to my trip having to go to the airport to rent a car. Again, this was a violation of a federal contract, and probably would have resulted in consequences for Enterprise under normal circumstances but because of DOGE our POC for these issues took the DRP and there was too much turmoil for anyone to have the bandwidth to deal with this. The "problems" I gave home in the previous rental was to refuse to be bullied into buying their insurance. He tried to tell me that because I hadn't booked the car through E2 that I was uninsured, and got angry when I asked for a minute to verify this, claiming it was absolutely true (he was lying; the insurance is tied to the federal credit card, not E2) and was so angry that I'd called him on his bluff that he stormed off to let someone else help me (thankfully). The guy has serious anger many issues and it's taken me months to write this review out of concern for my safety. He has my home address and is clearly incredibly volatile. Additionally, they never had the car I reserved available and the gas tank was never full. After this happened, I learned that the Hertz place on Sligo is open on Sundays and the guys there are incredible. And, because I have chemical sensitivities, are very flexible with me I. Terms of the cars I rent. They even bring the paperwork out to me because they often burn incense inside. I adore them, and feel valued, as opposed to threatened and bullied, not to mention scammed. Enterprise would do well to investigate this franchise location's practice. It's a lawsuit waiting to happen. read more

He lied to me and told me I would need to go into a physical branch out of the country to present payment. I have never been treated so poorly by a business. We needed a car, ours was just totaled, we were in a bind and they completely took advantage of this. We were charged over $900 for extra insurance that we did not want or need. We tried to get it removed. They did not remove it. They took money from us as well as our insurance company. We were never supposed to be charged. They said they would give us a credit back. 2 weeks later and were still waiting. They need to be put out of business! read more

Just wow with the service here! Firstly, it's location is hidden and there is no parking or hard to find parking but, a slight inconvenience for excellent service when you get inside. It is next to Patient First in the corner. This was the best car rental experience I have had start to finish. Joey, Sam, and Kayla work like a well oiled machine separately and together. They listen well, communicate clearly, are solution oriented, adaptable and the best part is they are able to be reached promptly, either by phone or email. I don't think I've had this good service anywhere in a long time, much less a car rental place. Their personalities are very laid back and relaxed paired with good service is an unusual mix. It's also nice to see a diverse staff work well together. Joey shows phenomenal leadership skills. You can see his staff respects and defers to him during appropriate times. It's also refreshing that they don't operate like robots. There is a genuine willingness to connect and help, not just robotically doing their jobs. When they ask if they can help me, I feel they really mean it. It's nice to have service that takes stress off you, not adds more to you. The car I initially received was exactly what they said I would get and what I signed up for on line. When I took the car home, it was not big enough for my needs. I called and Sam was able to help upgrade me to a slightly bigger car in the same price bracket. I needed a ride home since I was at the location with my own car and a rental and they were able to follow me home with the rental provided you leave close to the store. These days in corporately run establishments it's like dealing with programmed robots essentially taking the humanity out of the service industry, Joey, Sam and Kayla were personable in their own unique laid back way. I am not used to getting good service in "chill or laid back" personality types but, they all three gave great responsive service in a relaxed laid back manner. Easily hands down my favorite rental car location. I sincerely wish all service industry was this way. A little help goes a long way. The cars were clean, one was more clean than the other because the second car has light fabric interior that looked like it could be easily stained and difficult to get off but it was evident the car was cleaned, the fabric was just lightly scuffed. It was not a problem for me. The conversation on the ride back was with Kayla who explained a little bit about herself and her career path. The morning of I call to see if I could pick up one hr earlier, The manager Kenny was so RUDE Told me no matter what time I came I would be waiting awhile, he had 15 cars rentals that day! I had many appointments that why I wanted to start earlier. I said NO! I can't sit around and wait! SO WHAT you can't handle your Job when its busy, why make a reservation. They were a little busy but within 10 minutes was helped by a young man named Alpha and he took care of everything for me and I recommend this Enterprise highly!! EDIT: I've written emails to a branch worker, the branch manager, the area manager, and customer service. Still waiting for a response from anyone. Like several others who've written reviews, I'm in disbelief at receiving a damage bill. I picked up a rental car from the Silver Spring location on April 12 and dropped it off at the Dulles Airport location on April 18th. On the day of pickup at SS, during the vehicle inspection, I noticed and asked about different small scratches and other problem areas on the car. The Enterprise worker giving the inspection replied "Don't worry about that. We don't count those as damage". So he filled out the car as having no damage, and we checked out with the car. Now I'm unfairly being sent this damage bill because the worker who I dropped off the car to at the Dulles Airport location did not believe my explanation of what I'd been told from the Silver Spring Enterprise worker. It's weird that the only thing she mentioned on that day was a small dent (I even had to lean forward and strain my eyes to see what she was talking about) but in the damage pictures they only circled scratches (the very scratches I'd voiced concern about on pickup day!) I don't know if different branches are working together to trick people into paying damage charges like this, or they just need to get their practices on the same page with each other, but either way it's wrong. I will not be paying for damage that I did not make. If any customer service worker at Enterprise reading this would be kind and fair enough to withdraw the charges, I'll be right here waiting for a response. read more

We had no problems returning our rental at this location. It didn't take very long at all. Much better experience than when we rented the car at the Philly airport (hint: pack a lunch - you'll be waiting on line a long time). Horrible! They rented me a car that they knew was infested with roaches! When I returned the car, the woman at the counter responded, "I know." I spoke to the manager, Joey, who originally honored my request to have my house exterminated, then refused to honor the verbal agreement. He directed me to customer service, and they directed me back to the branch! I requested my complaint be escalated and am now waiting for a callback. Enterprise rented an infested car, compromised my entire family's health, and exposed my home to an infestation. Joey and Maria are both incompetent managers. Much like their location on Automotive Drive in Silver Spring near Burtonsville you should STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! They are short-staffed with people who are either unwilling or unable to provide proper customer service. The location seem to employ all immigrants and unfortunately this is to their detriment. I wanted to continue a reservation from the extremely poor location on Automotive Drive. I was told they were "busy" and they were active. But everyone spoke accented english and when I saw one guy offer an older couple a hybrid economy car when his co-worker said "no cars are available and wont be until after 4:00 pm" I knew they were full of shit. Don't go here at all. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST. You might want to avoid Enterprise altogether. read more

When we got there, their air had stopped working, it was hot and there were several people waiting for cars. An elderly man came in and complained about everything and anything. One of the guys at the counter, tall white guy....this guy was calm, cool and collected. He went next door to buy a case of waters so he can give the old complaining guy some water. I was already stressed from the accident, but my nerves were calmed by the car rental experience and the great customer service. The car I rented had a slow leak in the tire. I reserved a car days ago with a 5:00pm pickup. Welp, around 4:00pm the day I'm scheduled to pick up, I receive a call from Enterprise. They were calling to let me know that they close @ 5:00pm and should come in before 5:00pm. I told them I would be in my way. I arrived around 4:30pm and waited a good 45 minutes for my vehicle. This location is a total free for all. People coming in and jumping to the front of the line because there is no line or organization. And no one is paying attention. Can't blame enterprise for people sucking and cutting in line, but it is their fault that there isn't a system or a line. No sections separating returns and pickups. No taking a number, nothing. The branch manager doesn't answer their phone. So if you need help too bad. The chain as a whole is terrible. By the way the national customer service can help you do exactly nothing. They have no authority over any individual enterprise. So if someone at one enterprise offers you a deal that's supposed to be delivered at another branch it's meaningless. And no one can help you. Worst Enterprise...perhaps in the country! Overall, They are unorganized and seem to just be trying to get rid of you. I paid more than ever paid before and was even more insulted by the terrible service I received. I've only rented from Enterprise since I was 18 and I enjoyed every experience I had EXCEPT the one at this location for the following reasons: 1. Although I called in before to ask for a ride there, they said they were too busy to do pick-ups. I dragged my suitcases thru the metro station and thru downtown Silver Spring to reach the strip mall-esque location 2. I arrived for my scheduled appointment 5 minutes before it started and did not get checked in until 35 minutes after my scheduled time. Causing me to leave for my trip to Virginia Beach 45 minutes late after stopping to get gas since the tanks are only at a half tank when you get them. 3. I noticed that there were not full size cars in the lot and I said since you have no full size cars and I need to get going, can you just give me one of these smaller cars at the appropriate rate because I'm being inconvenienced. The guy basically begged me to wait and claimed my car was on its way. It was not! And he ended up going out to get it himself and pulling it into the cleaning station. My car was dirty and wet from them rush cleaning it. 4. THE MANAGER, by far was the worst part of this ordeal and I'm considering writing a letter to corporate asking for investigation into her conduct. She was barking orders to the employees and talking loudly about a man whose check stubs were out of date, calling the employees names, pointing out their mistakes in front of the customers and complaining that she had told the workers that it would be busy during this time and that she told them to get off their lazy butts earlier to avoid this...- I manage people and have managed organizations- Its hard, its thankless, but at the end of the day you must have TACT. Showing you have no confidence in your employees, makes customers have no confidence in your employees. 5. When I returned my car, I had to wait 15 minutes to return the key back. 6. I brought an empty cup (had been filled with water) with me to the desk. The manager (same frowny face woman from before) says, "You need to go outside with that food, I don't want bugs in my office!" I said, "the cup is empty and had water in it. She then barks at me to dump it in a trashcan outside the store, by the sidewalk. I was like I'm not walking all the way out there; I'm here to return my keys. She takes my keys and types hard on the keyboard, rips my paperwork form the printer, puts it on the counter and walks away. 6. A ask one of the male employees for a ride (since they pick up and drop off...I have utilized these services many times before), and he tells me he has to get approval from the manager. The manager turns to me and snaps, "If you want a ride, it will be 45 minutes!" ....I had enough and walked out. O_o. read more

Before picking a rental place(even checked out other enterprise locations) I did a lot of what you are doing now, which is reading reviews. There was no clear winner, however based upon reviews, hours and proximity to where I live I went with this location. On my first call get a nice and very helpful young lady and scheduled my rental. Got a follow up a few days prior to my reserved date. Showed up shortly after they opened on Saturday morning waited a little and then was taken to my rental. Car was clean and bottom line perfect for our week long family outing. Now here is the real reason why I am taking the time to write this review. I showed up on Sunday prior to them opening at 11. There were already customers there as well as staff. With all the other people, who looked as if they had already been helped, I was quickly greeted. After a few minutes I spoke with a young southpaw gentlemen who had dreads just a little longer than my own. He went out to check the car in, as I walk out with him I told him I was glad to have gotten there early, based on how busy they were. He agreed and then I grab my phone and it was exactly 11 the time they open. So all this happened prior to the time they opened. To top it off got a ride back to my house from a young lady with braids and tattoos. She was nice and very knowledgeable on the fleet of cars enterprise offers. I don't regret being a carfree urbanite....most of the time. But there are some things that just REQUIRE a car, and if you need that vehicle on the weekend woe unto you because virtually every Zipcar and even most Hertz on Demand cars get snatched up like the last fried chicken drumstick at Old Country Buffet. It actually ended up being cheaper and easier just to rent a car for the day. When I walked into the store it was very busy and packed. But the staff seemed to handle everything with ease, even mitigating a few tense moments with customers. All of their economy cars were taken so I had to opt for a full-sized sedan. They weren't pushy about trying to get me to sign for their insurance, it was more so presenting as an option and after I responded they kept it moving, no pushy sales person techniques here. I returned the car, no problem. It was pretty quick and painless. Note: they do NOT allow overnight drop offs. You MUST drop off the car during their regular business hours or you stand the risk of the car being towed and YOU footing the bill. read more

I found out the hard way that this location is very busy on Monday mornings. I had to wait two hours to get the car I had reserved earlier through the 800 number. They acted like I should have known it was always busy on Monday mornings. Really? How was I supposed to know? When I spoke to Enterprise on the phone, they didn't say anything about it. The manager and the staff were very polite and professional. But they are seriously understaffed. If you're always overwhelmed on Monday mornings, then assign more staff to help out on Monday mornings! I suggested that to them but they were pretty complacent about the situation. read more
