I made an "appointment" to have a hitch installed at 3:30, and dropped off my vehicle at that time, but they weren't able to start work on it until 6pm (!) because the installation before mine took way longer than expected, and they only have one mechanic. The staff were super transparent about the situation, and that was really helpful, but it was still a hassle. Unless you're doing something super simple like buying boxes, I would suggest going to a larger location like Takoma or Bladensburg Rd. In DC.

I think this location is a contractor for Penske and they are really helpful and easy to deal with. Their rates were very competitive and they didn't charge extra to drop off the truck after hours. It was the first time I called a moving location and got a human voice instead of a recorded machine telling me which number to select. The man who answered was really helpful because he told me all the charges up front and was straightforward about what would incur additional fees. I'm happy I used Penske and would use them again! Maybe they were $30-40 more than UHaul, but I didn't have to deal with any of the crap that comes with using UHaul.

We picked up our truck right during a power outage right after a storm, and he was working hard to process everything by hand and make our return process on the other end as smooth as possible. He got us into our truck and patiently showed us how to use the relatively complicated trailer we had rented. The truck was literally brand new - it had less than 150 miles on the odometer. He also let us leave our car and trailer there while we packed the truck, making it much easier to maneuver through downtown D.C. We will definitely rent from Penske in the future, and this location is excellent.

However, upon arrival, I was falsely told my insurance was invalid, despite later verifying with my provider that it was perfectly fine. Because of this, they forced me to pay a total of $860 instead of the original price. When I realized what was happening and asked to cancel the reservation altogether, the staff refused and claimed it was completely impossible to do so. To make matters worse, I have sent multiple follow-up letters and left detailed survey feedback, but the company has completely ignored all my attempts to resolve this issue. Their customer service is horrible, and I strongly advise everyone to avoid renting from Next Car.

The trax was clean and in good shape but very basic compared to what I have been renting. It had Apple Car Play but no active cruise and no active collision protection. The seats were manual adjust also. The car did well for us as we toured the country. I put 6400 miles on it in two weeks and saw many things with no issues with the vehicle. Tolls in Texas were an issue, Next added a $5 fee to each toll which I felt was steep. They add a $2 toll to any easy pass toll also. It wasn't really explained well to me so be aware.

I didn't have time to argue and told her then I'll leave but I need my money for reservation back. She assured me that I will get them all back ASAP. It's been 10 days, no refund, 100 calls to their and carrental support and everyone keeps sending me to another company to get my money back for the car I didn't even rent!

Wheaton Enterprise then brought back a manger that I really liked and I started renting from this location again. Until today. I rented a large SUV on Wednesday of this week received a phone call at 7 PM Friday night telling me they didn't have one and that I would have to call other Enterprises to get one. I went in anyhow to see what they had to offer and they had no large vehicles. The employee (Sean) at the desk could've been less bothered that they left me in a situation for work without a car and told me I'd have to call around on my own to find another car when they were the ones who were not able to fulfill their agreement. No assistance offered from the employees. Really disappointing experience will not be renting from them again.
