I rented a vehicle for someone and he drove to Florida and abandon the vehicle. I reported stolen and enterprise got the vehicle back. I paid the $3700 due. They ban me from renting from enterprise. I called complain and want them to lifted the ban. No one ever returned my calls. They just give me the run around. I rent with Hertz now and they are awesome customers service. read more

The worst experience ever and the assistant branch manager has Adis has ZERO customer service skills and even worst inability to run a business. After reserving a large SUV 4 weeks in advance of our trip, he tried to bait and switch with a mini van on the day of the reservation. If I needed a mini van I would have reserved a mini van, but rude and disrespectful Adis did not honor the reservation or even give a slight bit of effort to deliver the car that was reserved. This is obvsiouly a bait and switch practice of how he runs this location, so if you need a rental I would look elsewhere then deal with this unreliable, unprofessional scammer!!! read more

I can"t help but write this favorable review. I went to Enterprise after having my car totaled in an accident. The insurance Co. had made arragements for my rental and Enterprise had called me for some basic information. When I arrived it was pouring rain and the room was full of customers. Expecting delays I was wrong. The staff was friendly, quick and efficient. after a 5 minuinte wait I was greeted, the paperwork completed and I was fit with a rental in no time. A very similar experience when i returned the vehicle about a week later. I watched the staff interact with people and was impressed how well they were recieved. These people should be valued employees. They are professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I was helped by Mark and Ivanna but they all should be commended. When in need of a rental car I will certainly return! read more

Hi Marie Glad to hear you did well there but as I mentioned they only rent to local residents. You had a local license so they rented to you. I am a business traveler so of course I don't have a Connecticut license let alone one from West Haven. I rent Enterprise all over the USA these folks are nuts!! I wrote them and their regional Vice President Mr Eric Stone stated that there was no way for them to know I was coming even though I had a confirmed reservation !! Speaking to the previous review about the proof of local residence, I've personally never had this experience. I do live in West Haven and have never been asked to show a bill. Only my driver's license as with any rental agency. I have rented cars at this location for the past few years and have always been pleased. I always rent online through their website and it works like a charm, and they always have my reservation when I arrive and a car all ready to go. The cars have always been recent models, within the past few years and drive and ride like new. My most recent rental was a month ago and on a weekday I got a nice Ford Fiesta for $20 a day! Unlimited mileage and a fully equipped electronic panel with Sirius included! Where can you get a car like that at this price in CT? Nowhere. Service has always been friendly, fast and on the ball. *NOTE!* Check your receipt carefully when you return your car. I've only had one issue, which is what makes my rating a 4 instead of a 5. The last time I rented I was quoted $20 a day but when I returned the car, I was charged $26.98 a day. I was in a hurry and didn't notice this until after I walked out. But I did notice it quickly and walked back in within 5 minutes and was told they would be happy to refund the difference, but the computer had been shut down as it was closing time. I was told that it would take an hour to reboot the system but that they would refund the overcharge on Monday, and even made a note of this on my bill. I thought...ok...mistakes happen. No problem. A week later I still had not received the credit. Bottom line...I had to call back THREE times as each time I was told the credit would be made but when I checked my credit card, it wasn't. Finally, three weeks after the initial rental, the credit appeared on my card. This was extremely annoying, but in the end I'm not upset as the credit was made. This is the only issue I've ever had at this location, so it won't stop me from going back. Just be sure to check your bill carefully before you leave the counter. read more

Great experience from beginning to end, even when one of us realized after returning that they had left a pair of sunglasses in a concealed compartment and the car had already been moved off-premises for its routine service. They were VERY accommodating in keeping our wait to an absolute minimum and the glasses were promptly retrieved. Would definitely rent there again. read more

This is the worst enterprise site I have been to. The customer service was awful.. Doug is the employee we dealt with. I was coming all the way from Middletown and hit traffic got the the store only to have Doug say he was closing up and wont rent me the car.. I even called to say I was on my way and he said he would be there but in the end he refused to rent me the car. I would NEVER go to this site again, no customer appreciation! read more

Very poor customer service! I highly recommend, if you can, giving your business to Enterprise of Milford. Specifically, a manager there named Bob was exceptionally helpful and willing, as were other employees, after a negative experience at the West Haven Enterprise location. They, W.H. Enterprise, were keen to lose a customer for life just to get an extra $19.99 from me. I had in my possession one of their cars for 41 hours and 8 minutes, yet I was charged the Damage Waiver fee for THREE full days. Having rented the car with the help of my insurance company, there is a contract between them that cars are rented out and billed based on "Calendar Days" (Information which was never offered upfront to me). I had researched their website and saw information which described rental billing to be based upon "24-hour" periods. (I had called the night before bringing the car back to ask if returning the car at 10:30AM would be alright, and for a second time, the employees at this office failed to explain the terms of rental agreements involving the customer's insurance company -- 24 hour vs. Calendar day.) The Terms and Conditions put forth by the Enterprise corporation actually give TWO SEPARATE DEFINITIONS for a SINGLE word ("DAY"), yet they use that word in their rental agreements WITHOUT ANY SPECIFIC CLARIFICATION. This particular Enterprise location stubbornly refused to acknowledge the discrepancy and the seemingly unlawful adherence to charging a customer based on whatever definition best suits their bottom-line; in the case of my experience with West Haven Enterprise, it is clear that their bottom-line is maximizing profits in every single transaction rather than placing value on reasonable customer service and prolonging patronage. I offered two other options to resolve our disagreement over the bill, but the representative refused to be helpful, either by alerting his manager to the problem or presenting another possible solution. I was left with no choice but to walk out the door feeling totally slighted and cheated. I rented a car from Enterprise two times since, but I went to Milford. The day of this incident, I had a reservation to pick up a car at the Milford location for their $9.99/day special rate, and after explaining my dissatisfaction and asking what powers they actually have at Enterprise franchises to waive fees or change the method of billing from insurance company imbursement to customer payable, they stated that it was well within the power of Enterprise employees to have made alterations to have met the needs of the customer, including waiving the fee altogether simply to reach an agreeable conclusion - they had their car back undamaged, which they could see; what necessity was it to charge me another Damage Waiver fee? I will NOT return to this location ever again. read more

I have used this location on 4 occasions and was pleased with the service each time. I reserved on line and the cars were ready and very nice. This last visit we got an upgrade to a brand new Jeep with the Sirius radio still active. The counter guys are friendly and professional. One suggestion - more counter staff. Each visit I had to wait a bit for service, it is a process doing the paperwork,an only one or two people working the counter, people get backed up. I'm happy and will continue to use them. read more

Great rental experience. Picked us up from the West Haven train station. Car was ready upon arrival. Didn't hassle us about insurance options. And at great rate, much cheaper than New Haven. Strongly recommended for New Yorker's who are getting out of town. Couldn't be a better car rental experience. read more
