I went in to rent a car for a month. I explained that I didn't own a car at the moment, so I had no liability insurance (the kind that the state requires). He said that I could get it through Enterprise, versus trying to go through a third party. I said OK. I then went through the process of initialing a bunch of declines (I thought). When I turned the car in and finally looked more closely at the paperwork I was given the Collision/Damage coverage, at $1000 for the month!!! So, not only did I not get what I thought I needed (coverage in case I hit and injured/kill somebody), I was given the type of insurance that I didn't want and have never gotten in 45 years of renting cars (coverage on the rented car based on at fault damage to the car). The manager did call me per my request, but clearly just to humor me- he had no intention of doing anything ("rental is closed- too late to make any changes"). Now anybody who has been in the corporate world knows that there is always something that can be done- it's just a matter of engaging the right person at the right level, by a person who really wants to right a wrong. This guy didn't. He just wanted to get off the phone. I actually flew to Phoenix the next day and needed to rent a car for two weeks. Guess who I didn't rent from (who I would have otherwise)?? I'm sure he couldn't have cared less. Don't rent from the Enterprise on Kirkwood Highway. Oh I forgot- the day after I picked the car up I had to get a new battery for the key fob, and two days after I picked the car up I had to fill the left rear tire up (ended up having to do this about every three days. I was looking to rent a 12-passenger van for an upcoming family road trip. Through their website, I found that Enterprise offered 12-passenger van rentals, but they did not publish their rates on the website and encouraged to call their number instead. After a couple of transfers, I was able to make a reservation at the local Enterprise office that would have a van available. During the call, I was informed that the total cost of the rental would be $767.96 for three days plus tolls and gas. The representative also mentioned that a $400 deposit was required. I inquired if I would need to pay $1167.96 upon picking up the van, and then get reimbursed the $400 after I returned it. The representative surprised me when she mentioned that $767.96 already included the $400 deposit, making the actual rental cost $367.96. I asked her to re-confirm that the rental would be $367.96 and she assured me that would be the final cost once the deposit was refunded. I confirmed the reservation then over the phone. On the day I showed up to pick up the van, the Enterprise representative informed me that whatever I was told was wrong, and that it was indeed $767.96 for the rental PLUS the $400 deposit on top. Despite my arguing and pleading, the rep had no intention of honoring the price I was quoted over the phone. I was then put in an unconscionable position of being forced to pay $400 more than I was promised, or cancel a family road trip that had been planned for over a year and lose out on hotel and ticket reservations that were previously made. I had no reason to believe they would not honor the price quoted over the phone. They purposely do not publish their van rates online despite publishing their rates for every other kind of vehicle they offer, so I'm left stuck with a $400 difference in a bill that I did not agree to. They are no good to deal with. Crazy thing is I RECOMMENDED TO GO TO THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE! So I received a car from them because my car was in the shop due to being hit and I only had the rental for no more than a half of a day or less and the car over heated. I told them about it and they gave me another rental. Days later they determined that the it was my fault and that I had to pay them over 5k worth of damage. Mind you when I drove the car, I only drove it home and that was it. The next day me and my girl was going to head to NY when all of a sudden the car started over heating so we pulled over on the side of the road in Philly. Only drove the car for 50 miles and that's it... they showed pictures that the radiator hose blew and then said we caused damaged under the bumper. Bunch of Bull! I told them that they gave me a faulty car and that when the employee and I did the inspection, we only looked at the outside of the car AND NOT THE ENGINE and never looked under the car. But they said regardless the car was under my care and that I was at fault... HOW?! and 5k worth of damage for only a blown hose? So I'm telling you to NOT GET ANY RENTAL FROM ENTERPRISE! and if you do THEN PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PAY ATTENTION TO EVERYTHING ABOUT THAT CAR BEFORE YOU RENT IT because they are a slimey business to deal with and they won't listen to reason I PROMISE YOU. They are not for the customer satisfaction, only for the money. read more

After making a reservation to downsize the rental car I was already given, I was called an hour before pick up and told that my car would not be ready on time, and to come 15 minutes after close. This honestly was no issue for me; however, the service I received after arriving was completely unprofessional. The staff were clearly trying to push me out of the door. The car was half cleaned and smelled like cigarettes. I was told the car was on empty, and was asked if I really wanted the car to be filled up, or if I could do it on my own. Honestly. Is that a serious question? I could tell they really wanted to go home, so I just said that I would fill it up. But the staff member that took me out to the car didn't even walk me around the car to show me how to use it, and it took me 10 minutes of fumbling around at a gas station in the rain to figure out where to find the lever to release the door to the gas chamber. Overall, I found my experience to be extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Maybe you'll have a different experience, but I will not be returning to this location. read more

My Jeep was in the shop for an extended period of time, and my warranty covered a rental. I expect to take some time checking in and getting a vehicle, but was pleasantly surprised. They picked me up at home, it took 10 min. tops, and I was on my way. Considering my warranty only covered $35/day, I got a car almost identical to mine. Very clean and even had SiriusXM. Staff was friendly and professional. I know where I'm going if I need to rent a car. read more

Will never use Enterprise ever again. The local employee inquired if i wanted to pay insurance on the rental car as long as I had it. I said that this would not make sense for me and she instructed me to sign the rental agreement. Long story short, according to enterprise I had signed that I indeed wanted insurance on the car. After calling several managers to have a credit issued I was given the run around enough times that I had to simply cut my losses. I feel very displeased about the experience and will go out of my to support a different rental organization or even go without a rental car at all. read more

They could of easily earned 5 stars if I would of been given a car that had been cleaned out . Glove box still had all the previous renters personal paperwork and information / insurance cards etc. also there was used dental picks that was totally discussing . Also got several calls on my cell phone from an employee telling me when the car was due back . The insurance company had already told me when it was due back just didn't need to be called and bothered . UP DATE enterprise on Kirkwood highway is great and the only place I would rent a car from I have had some really bad service at other agencies but this location does do a fine job I just think due to the overwhelming business that day they missed a few things in the transition between renters and maybe some one might light a reminder when it's due back just don't take this review for more than what it was . The absolute worst customer service I have ever received. I am have been in sales and customer service myself for about 20 years. I booked my rental over a month and a half before hand and they didn't have have my car when I arrived at the location. Was than offered a smaller car for $10 more a day. Had to drive said car to another location where we had to wait 30 mins for them to clean the car I was renting. Manager there Sam couldn't care less and offered no apologize and said she "couldn't speak on behalf of the other location." Never inspected the car with me. Was never given new contract and was misinformed about when I could return my car, the method of payment, and the hours. Had called about 5 times since returning the car and was told it was a priority and someone would call to settle the matter before being charged. Received a bill for $900 over a month later and never heard from anyone. Still continuing to call and still have not heard from anyone and was told again I was a priority. Poor customer service from beginning to end and would never recommend them to anyone. Both kirkwood highway location and French street in the city. read more
