My sister and I just discovered Swinsons last summer when we began taking our dad's old Wrangler in to get it fixed up. Since then, we haven't taken our cars anywhere else, and our cars are purring like kittens! They are quick to get your car in. They always call to confirm what they are doing before they do it. They won't try to sell you on getting something done that you don't actually need. The staff is friendly. This is a trustworthy, neighborhood business. I highly recommend checking them out! UPDATE: After I got a new vehicle, I took it to the Chevy dealer where I bought it to get my discounted oil change. The next day, I found oil all over the floor of my garage. I had to drive across the state that day, and needed it fixed quickly. Swinson's got me in right away and fixed me up. I can't believe I trusted my car to anyone else. My son recently moved to Florida. We had his car fully serviced before he left home and everything was running great. When he arrived in Florida his AC wasn't working and we were referred here by Carmax to see if it was a covered warranty issue. They said come on in tomorrow morning and we can take a look at it. They discovered it was not a covered repair, however, they were able to fix it quickly the same day and luckily it was only a couple hundred dollars. Everyone was very polite and professional. Had my daughters vehicle towed here after her alternator went. I had Swinson's replace the alternator and also changed a hose and replaced coolant. Once my daughter drove off the lot, she called me to say that air conditioning wasn't working correctly and then eventually the car started overheating. None of these problems existed prior to coming in. During the work they informed us that the radiator had a previous leak that stop gap was used and they could replace it for XXX of dollars. Since it wasn't leaking I decided not to get it replaced. Upon contacting them about the current issue they said bring it back in but it probably was the radiator. Upon my daughter bringing it in, I was told the radiator needed to be replaced but also the fans because they were burnt out due to my daughter trying to use the AC while the car was overheating. Needless to say I am not dumb, unfortunately she was just 1,000 miles away from me for me to do anything. I had her take the vehicle to another mechanic and explained everything that were told, no reason to lie, put it all out there. The new mechanic found a clip that was holding the fan from turning. Not sure if it was intentional or if had been placed on there when the alternator and hose was changed but none the less it was on there. Once removed the AC works fine and there is no overheating. I can understand missing it the first time but when it was brought back in you don't see it and you tell me that the fans need to be replaced because they are burnt out. It cost me an extra $250 to correct Swinson's mistake not to mention the UBER fares. I used the contact form to ask for at least my $250 back but till this day I have not received any response from Swinson's. They state that they are Christian, but this experience was far from it. read more

The group of staff here is professional and they have great service. I heard the noise from the breaks so thought they needed to be changed. I called an made an appointment for them to check it out. They pulled it in right when I got there and said the "arm" was sticking, but the brakes were fine and didn't need to be changed. They greased it up, put it back together for me all for a very reasonable price and to top it off told me when they do need to be change keep the receipt and they will credit that charge to actually changing the brakes. The waiting area is small, but super clean with massage chairs and beverage options. The staff seems to enjoy their work and working there and it shows. read more

This used to be a good place, but I think they have changed hands. We used them 3 times in the past few months, and they were incompetent each time. The first time, they fixed something on my husband's car that didn't need fixing, and charged us for it. The second time, they said they didn't know what was wrong. Then I took my car there. It took 4 days for them to look at it. They said the battery just needed to be charged. $65 later, the car died again the next day. We will never use them again, and I will tell everyone I know to avoid them. read more

The alternator belt broke, so I drove to the nearest place, which was Swinson's. When they asked me to pay for a diagnostic up front, that raised a red flag since I have never been required to pay prior to service. I also said that I already diagnosed it as a broken alternator belt, but the refused to look under the hood unless I paid first. Ok, so what the hell. They called later to report that the alternator belt was broken. They added that it broke because the AC compressor failed, which caused the engine accessory pulley to seize. There estimate to fix: $1400. That was a shocker. They also said that the brake pads needed to be replaced because two were at 5 mm and two were at 4 mm. Another red flag, since I had only put on about 2000 miles since replacing the pads a couple years ago. They also said the brake rotors needed to be replaced because they were rusted. Well, no the braking surface was not rusted at all. So I knew they were liars and so I called AAA and had the car towed to Red's in Ocoee. They said they didn't know what the people at Swinson's we're talking about. They replaced the alternator belt and plugged a small leak in the AC compressor which otherwise worked fine. We had them do a top to bottom inspection as well. The pricetag? $280 all told. This compared to Swinson trying to rip us off to the tune of over $2100! So my advice is to stay as far away from this shady operator as you can. I asked for my diagnostic fee to be refunded since it was obviously bogus. So far no response read more

The mechanics at Swinson's have handled the routine job of changing the oil in our 2013 Nissan and the more challenging job of tracking down and fixing a few leaks in our 2006 Toyota. (With over 200k miles on her, our Toyota has become something of a project!). Both cars were serviced quickly and thoroughly with a level of expertise and efficiency I've not seen in many service shops. I'd like to add also that the friendly professionalism of the staff I encountered is refreshing as well as appreciated. Unfortunately, the usual treatment of women in service shops that I have experienced in the past has not been as respectful. Called in and asked if I could come by for an oil change. They said "sure, no appointment needed". I then came by a few days later and was ignored for half an hour. I walked over to Jiffy Lube next door where I received much better service. I try to patronize local businesses, but this was ridiculous. Probably better if you need bigger work done. Would have appreciated a heads up that they don't like to do oil changes if that is the case. read more

I am thrilled to have this place around the corner to my house! I was spoiled growing up because we had a mechanic in the family, so I have a hard time trusting anyone else with my car. My car had a bad battery terminal ( per my friend because I have no idea about cars) and it was having trouble starting. After beating the battery to death it started and I Yelped and found this place to drop my car off. I left a note on the dash stating that I would be back in the morning and a brief description of what was going on with my vehicle. I showed up the next day and Ron the manager assisted me. I assumed that I would leave my car for the day and they could hopefully work it in. I described the issue I was having and he knew exactly was it was and stated that it was a simple fix and he could take care of it right way. Now, I would never expect to have anything done so quickly but I was very impressed with their customer service and I felt confident that he would take are of the issue and not try to fix anything else that didn't need fixing. I typically use Yelp to reward evidence of consistent good service as opposed to bash those who may have had a one off bad day. That's my style. And because it can be hard to find the honest and reliable among mechanics I tend to call them out. Especially if a bad apple review my throw someone off... this is a quality shop. Just like Grace C below, I'm new to the area and Swinson's got me on the road again the same day. They drove me home and picked me up free of charge. In fact, they were able to make my minor electrical repairs for the cost of the diagnostic alone. They provided me with totally reasonable estimates for maintenance I'll need to make soon-- but wasn't a rush right now like my front/rear pads and some additional electrical work. Definitely a good find. It was a pleasure to talk to Lou (hope I got his name sp right :) But the service manager Frank Simmons was top notch for friendliness and making this customer happy. I'm really sad to offer this bad rating, however, I took my 2009 Nissan Cube in because the "Service Engine Soon" light was on. They proceeded (on three separate visits) to do a complete "Tune-up" for around $800.00. Took car home and within one day the "Service Engine" light was back on. Took it back and they decided I needed a new radiator. One day later light is back on. They decided I needed a new Catalytic Converter. I didn't make it one block before the light came back on (along with) a strong gasoline smell. Took it back to shop and they supposedly fixed it. By this time they have charged me almost $4,000.00 to fix it. Light came back on after one day again, by this time I had decided to sell or trade in, I really couldn't sell it to private party because we still couldn't tell what was wrong with it. Finally traded it on new Toyota, probably cost me about $2,000.00 on trade in because the idiot light was still on and the gas smell was so strong. Man, I know I'm a moron for spending so much on the cube repair, but the car had sentimental value. But I would really stay away (far away) from this shop. read more

I took my Jeep to them to get my radiator replaced. it was something that I was needing for a while and it got to the point that I needed it done. I went to Swinson's and they did an amazing job! I dropped it off on a Sunday and picked it up at the end of the day Tuesday. They were so efficient and the parts they use are covered nationwide!! A few months after I had my radiator replaced, my upper radiator hose blew a hole and I needed it to be replaced ASAP! I had it towed to Swinson's on a Sunday and got it back by end of day on Monday! Wow. I'm incredibly impressed. These guys had every opportunity to misdiagnose my Jeeps problem. This was my second opinion on a metal on metal sound coming from my engine area. Another shop told me I needed a new engine; this team of pros found that all I needed was a tack weld on the heat shield, which ended up costing me $40.
