Had several raccoons who decided to take up residence in my attic. Jake (and his canine partner) came out, checked around my entire property, climbed on the roof, and figured out the problem. He gave me a very fair quote to get rid of the intruders and close up the openings they used to get in. Excellent Service!!!!! We had a mama and her baby Raccoon living behind our fireplace insert. She was driving our dog crazy. I HIGHLY recommend EnviroCritter and Jake for your animal struggles! We had a dead raccoon in our chimney. After several phone calls to animal control, chimney sweeps and pest control services looking for services or ideas we came across EnviroCritter / Jake. Jake gave me a very reasonable quote over the phone and was not deterred knowing he would be walking into a decomposing mess. Jake arrived as planned, evaluated the situation and got right to work. It was a tough task to begin with because of the steep slant of the roof and 15 feet of dark chimney to look down and maneuver tools in. It was found to be even more difficult with the shape of the chimney, the size of chimney versus the size of the raccoon and the bloat of the raccoon. It was completely evident Jake was a true experienced professional. He successfully removed the carcass despite it all and ensured it was the only one. On Saturday the 11th of February, we heard noises from the attic that sounded like a squirrel scratching around. Throughout the day the noises moved from the attic to then the vent in the kitchen downstairs. We online searched for animal control services and found a few. It was an overwhelming process because we never dealt with something like this. We found Envirocritter and was impressed with the reviews and photos of past jobs that Jake did. When speaking to Jake, I liked how easy he was to talk to and he explained everything that needed to be done to complete the job. He was very knowledgeable. The earliest he could come out was Thursday the 16th but I still booked with him knowing the animal may die by then. He reassured us that we had nothing to worry about and that he would take care of us on Thursday. We continued to search for other places that could possibly come sooner and found Berrett Pest Control. They had a lot of good reviews and they were able to come out on Monday the 13th so we booked with them. When Barrett Pest Control arrived, they inspected where the sound was coming from and did a quick walk around the house. They then said they couldn't help us because the animal is trapped in the exhaust vent/fan in the kitchen and they couldn't remove it. We then booked with Critter Control who came out on Tuesday the 14th. They gave us a very costly quote for $2700 ($200 to sanitize, $200 to clean up, $1400 to screen all roof vents, $700 to remove the wildlife, and $200 for ectoparasite treatment). We decided to wait for Jake to come on Thursday. Jake arrived on time, and within an hour was able to remove the animal. What we thought was a squirrel ended up being a Starling bird. He also went on our roof even with snow from yesterdays storm and screened off the vent. Jake's price was just a small fraction of Critter Controls. He was professional, trustworthy, and reasonably priced. I would most definitely recommend Jake! read more

I can't recommend Envirocritter enough! I had a skunk that had taken up residence underneath my concrete slab porch and boy oh boy could you smell it--even inside the house. Jake was able to come out within a few days and after a quick assessment, determined that it was actually a DEAD skunk underneath the porch (in the process giving me a really interesting lesson on skunk mummies ; )--the guy knows his stuff!) Despite being really difficult to access, Jake was able to get the skunk out, fix the access point so that other skunks wouldn't take up residence and he took care of the leftover stink. I had a skunk in my backyard that was found to be living under my shed. I learned about the skunk AFTER he sprayed my dog one morning before I left for work (you can imagine the stench that awaited me after work). Jake was an absolute LIFESAVER! He was able to come to my house within 24H and set up traps. In the end, I trapped a total of FIVE skunks. If I had used a different company, I easily would have spent hundreds of dollars more. EnviroCritter charges a flat fee unlike many other wildlife-trapping companies in Denver. Most other companies charge an initial visit fee in addition to ~$75 for each trip to your home, regardless if the trapped animal is a skunk, squirrel or the neighbor's cat lol Jake was always responsive and timely to my texts when I alerted him that a trap was triggered. Jake at EnviroCritter helped us with our issue of squirrels in the attic. He did a thorough evaluation of our roof. Found a point of entry where the squirrels squeezed in. Because I did not want to relocate the squirrels or have them euthanized, Jake placed a trap that allowed the squirrels to exit, but not reenter the attic. I had him install a squirrel house on the side of my Cottonwood tree. He placed some bedding in it and peanut butter on the tree to attract the squirrels to their new home. To prevent the squirrels from being able to enter the attic again, he placed strong screen material around all vents that come out of our attic for $55 each. (plus some other addtional costs for the trap and service call, etc.) Unfortunately, we have 8 vents, so it was costly. But he guaranteed his work for a full year. So, if they do get back in, he will help us at no cost. I am most happy with Jake's understanding and kind attitude. He was respectful of the fact that I did not want the squirrels harmed or left without a place to nest. It was a lengthy process, but it was good to give the squirrels time to get situated and to make sure they were all out of the attic before sealing it up. I'm happy to say the squirrels are thriving in their new home and my dog and I enjoy watching them out of my office window every day. read more
