I've used Iseland now several times over a couple of years. Had a slightly bumpy start a couple years ago with an ant problem as the owner didn't follow up when he said he would on a Saturday. Ultimately, his partner did make it out the following Monday and started to address the problem. And this ant issue was no ordinary infestation - it was like Ant-Mageddon with flying ants throughout the inside of the house and crawling up walls, etc. My tenants were continually vacuuming them up for over a week and were not enjoying things. Iseland made 4 separate trips out to the property to add bait and ultimately got things under control. This ant issue has been recurring for a number of years but had never been that bad. It started again this last summer and Iseland came out again and I think they now have nailed the problem. I also had them come out to a different property this fall to help with a pretty serious rat and mouse problem. Justin put together a plan with bait traps and had the problem completely under control within a few days. Found yellow jackets going inside the wall while replacing our siding, decided to spray some spectrazide & seal their way in with expanding foam. Big mistake, after a couple of days, they went deeper inside the house and found they're way in to the HVAC vents, they were coming out in our basement! Contacted Justin and he managed to come out later the same day. He drilled a couple of small holes in the drywall to dust and use some kind of steamer/compressor. Immediately, some yellow jackets came out all covered with white dust and died in the windows. After only 30 mins we have not seen a single one inside the house. He offered to come out and re-treat at no cost if necessary. If there's a next time, I'm calling Justin right away! read more

Squirrels. To say I have a problem with them would be an understatement. After getting tired of crawling around in my attic, huffing insulation, I called Justin at Iseland Pest & Wildlife. After discovering a gopher snake had made its home in a surprisingly spacious opening under our (concrete) front porch, we were faced with a dilemma. Go after it ourselves? Adopt a mongoose? Attempt to fill in the holes, not quite knowing whether the snake was at home when we started work? So I sat and had a long conversation with Gopher Snake, telling it I was happy to let it stay if it stayed in its usual place on the decorative rocks or went in its home while I worked on the yard, and kept the door-to-door salespeople away from the front porch, because two 'no soliciting' signs were obviously not doing the job. Since the snake didn't keep up its end of the bargain (just what kind of notice do I have to put on my door to keep strangers from bothering us, anyway?) we called around for pest removal services. The first place we called was booked up for a month. Not good. Brett of Iseland Pest was the second, and he promised to come out the next day. He showed up on time, eager to work. Unfortunately the snake proved to be slippery, and escaped under the porch, and in the end Brett was forced to lay a sticky trap. (I did not know this was a thing. I am still a little disturbed by it.) He came by the next afternoon to pick up the trap with the snake stuck on it, and made sure I saw that he was carrying the poor snake away. (would YOU want to pick up a sticky piece of paper with a live snake stuck to it? Brett had no qualms.) We have since filled in and blocked up the hole as thoroughly as we could figure out how. My husband had also talked him into checking out the back porch on his first visit, which turned out to have TWO nests of yellow jackets under it. He obviously didn't know about the deal I had struck with them, so I was a little unhappy about the thorough dusting he gave the nests, even though the price was quite reasonable. Now instead of two watch-guard yellow jackets that politely keep their distance when I'm out watering the vegetables, I've got nine dazed, confused, and seemingly doped up yellow jackets huddled in a small mass, looking miserable and being completely unpredictable, which is what I hate most about flying insects. I don't know how to put them out of their misery if they don't give it up soon, but it will probably involve a second phone call to Iseland Pest. read more

The guy Justine, who is a total whack job came out to our house 2 weeks ago and sealed some windows and cracks up for a mouse problem. He came back today and got butt hurt that the mice didn't eat his bait traps and then went to accuse us that we put mouse crap under our fridge and around our house. First , I have no clue where you go to just get an abundance of mouse crap and second, my wife is 12 weeks pregnant. He had to come back repeatedly because they were so bad (he found 18 nests) and the wasps kept returning to try to rebuild their nests, but he never got impatient or said he'd done all he could, he just said, "If you see them again, give me a call" He came quickly, usually within a day of my call and would recheck places he'd treated to make sure they hadn't returned to their old haunts and didn't charge me any more for repeat visits or treatments. I contacted Iseland after a recommendation from a friend and I wasn't disappointed. Brett was very professional, knowledgeable, and eager to solve my bug problem in my tree out front. I had called him early that day and after I described my problem of these gnat bugs making their home in my tree, he reassured me that he could take care of the problem. He swung by later the SAME day and sprayed my tree and a couple of days later I noticed no more gnats trying to devour my eye balls as I tried to make my way through the front door. He was nice, and placed an exclusion trap ( I think that is what they are called?) where the squirrel was getting in. he is coming back to patch the hole after a week or so. It was lat in the afternoon when we called and I wasn't expecting him to come out that same day, but he must have heard the desperation in our voice and was at our house in an hour. He not only removed the four nests we could see, but also found another one and removed it too! He then treated the areas and around the house to make sure the wasps won't come back. We have been trying to get rid of the squirrels in our attic for over a year (with a trap). And now they are in several areas of the attic, and we haven't caught one! (Justin explained that they might not go near the trap if they smell lotion, handsoap, etc. on the trap.) I called Justin Brown at Iseland Pest and Wildlife, and he came out on Friday, March 10, 2017. He looked around the exterior of the house with his binoculars and found a very likely entry. Upon inspection, he saw the chew marks around it. He poked around up on the attic (on his belly to get close to the edges) with his long poker and broke up the nests, and I even saw a squirrel come running out onto the gutters and jump onto a tree! Thankfully it is just before breeding time and there are no babies. He buttoned up the exit place, and the next day we heard a squirrel in the attic on the opposite side of the house, and he came back the next day, and in total he has covered up 4 entry holes they have been getting in through! He took pictures of my damaged attic wires (did you know that they use peanut oil in making the electrical wire coverings and the squirrels in my area - Aurora - love chewing on them?)
