EHS was under contract with my condo community until recently. The condo community has opted to find a new pest service company based on ineffective service and multiple complaints from many residents. I have mice or some other rodent in the walls of my home; I can hear them at night and I have recorded the noise and played it for an EHS representative who confirmed it sounded like mice. Yet, EHS has been to my home four times over two months and "found no evidence" of any pest, which sounds awesome in theory. However, it means nothing is being done to actually remove my rodents that I know are in there. Every single time EHS comes it's a different representative. Each one is completely unfamiliar with the situation. Sometimes EHS sends a representative that cannot physically fit in the attic, despite being reminded that a smaller person would be best for the job due to the tiny entrance. One time they didn't bring a ladder, despite being told they'd need one to access my attic. If they can't fit in my attic and look in there, how do they actually know if it's clear of pests or not? Are they just guessing? Seems like it. I even had one EHS representative tell me that all of the traps the previous EHS representative had put out were "useless." How does that make me feel, when I paid for that service and took time off from work for the "useless" service to be rendered? Basically, EHS has been a waste of money and my paid time off from work, since they have to come in the middle of the work week and someone has to be home to provide access. read more

I really didn't want to use their services but a few years back I was forced to use them because the VA saw an ant outside my front door and tried to make a federal case out of it in order to for me to get a VA home loan (that's another story) They came out and confirmed like a few million other homes in New England my yard indeed had ants but my house didn't, they sprayed, filled out the VA paperwork and off they went. They promised I wouldn't have ants around the house for a year but I actually saw one on the 364th day but it could have been a plant from a competitor, who knows ? Then I really needed them - had a huge football sized bees nest growing in my basement from a hole the plumber left from removing a spigot (another story) and not sealing it correctly. They came down and had it gone and less than a half hour. read more

I used EHS recently, and was very disappointed in their services. I had a bird infestation in my apartment, and EHS sent some individuals to remove the birds (the earliest appointment available was 3 days later), and to provide a site inspection to determine how the birds entered the home. At that point, I had already removed the birds that were flying around, so EHS showed up, said there were no birds inside, and there was nothing they could do. They still charged their minimum hourly fee of $348 for this removal service. They also sent an individual to provide a site inspection as to how the birds entered the home. This inspection involved walking outside, watching birds enter the condo building, taking pictures, and promising to send a quote for the exclusion service. Three days later, when I had still not received a quote, I reached out to the site inspector who promised a quote would be coming the following week on the one day a week he spent in the office. When I reached out again the following week, my email went unanswered. I cannot speak to the service that EHS actually provides because in this case they didn't provide any. read more

Moved back into my 1st floor unit of a triple decker after renting it out to tenants without pets. 2nd floor neighbor contacted this company after seeing/hearing mice in her unit. This is only exterminator that creates a bigger, more apparent rodent problem once they start laying traps. Then starts charging a quarterly maintenance fee without solving the initial problem. The best exterminators are house cats and ferrets, haven't seen or heard any mice in my unit since we moved back. read more

We signed up for a 1 year home plan to address pests and rodents. EHS makes claims in their quarterly write ups about services they've done, but evidence within the home points to the services not having been done. Traps aren't re-set. There's no evidence of certain spaces being checked (attic, for example). If these services were, as EHS claims, were done, then they didn't work. We currently have ants and spiders, which EHS claims to address. When you attempt to call EHS, no one picks up the phone, but you get to hear a lot of sales pitches from Modern Pest Services (NOT EHS). As I type this post I'm on hold for the past 15 minutes (!!!!!). This is the second phone number I've tried calling to actually talk to someone. The last call went unanswered and left me on hold for 10 minutes before I gave up. These guys are a joke. read more

Buyer Beware -- this company engages in poor business practices. We are filing a report with the Better Business Bureau now. Two years ago, we made it very clear we were dissatisfied with their service. As new owners we had requested a full assessment of our home. They sent over one person who was completely dismissive of our questions and concerns and provided no information. We informed them that we had transferred our business to a new company. They ignored this information and made repeated harassing calls to us. Today (two years later), unannounced, they arrived at our home and removed all of the termite stations leaving our home unprotected. When I called to complain, they referenced a call in February as the point at which they considered themselves to have given notice of their plan to take such action. In speaking with our current provider it is clear that EHS engaged in purposefully mean spirited behavior that was unnecessary and unwarranted. It is common practice that a new provider assesses the situation at hand and maintains or replaces the system at the home. It is completely unnecessary to remove a fully operational system that is being monitored and maintained by a licensed provider. SHAME ON YOU EHS. read more

My husband and I are both physicians. After receiving another company's $4800 one-size-fits-all proposal for a highly toxic approach to a limited, slowly progressing clothing moth infestation, we brought in EHS Pest Services for a second opinion. After taking a history and examining our house, Senior Inspector Scott Murphy recommended what would be called "conservative treatment" in the medical world--thorough cleaning, quarantine, and monitoring. He was a walking encyclopedia on the topic of clothing moths and took the time to educate us so we could manage the problem ourselves--without the risk of exposing our baby granddaughter to toxic chemicals. The intelligence and integrity Scott brought to our problem cannot be overstated. He could have taken advantage of our anxiety, but he did not. If you're looking for a thoughtful, honest, non-exploitative response to your pest problem, call EHS. You can feel confident that their recommendation is based on careful observation, analysis, science, and vast experience. read more

I was paranoid that we had German cockroaches and I had to move within 3 days to my new apartment. With nothing to lose I contacted both terminex and environmental health services. Immediately EHS wanted to help and suggested I take pictures of the "specimen" I caught and emailed their specialist Mr. Lynch. WIthin 10 minutes I received a phone call inquiring that I email more pictures to determine the exact type of pest. It turns out the cockrach was a Woods Cockroach, occasional invaders who are not a threat and are not hitchhiker cockroaches. If it was not for EHS, I would have spent 1000s on a fumigator service and would have been worried in my new apartment. Terminex tried to keep me on the phone to get my $ while EHS wanted to help. If you want one take away from this review, it is to check in with EHS because they not only care, they are competent in what they do. read more

After numerous issues with EHS, including not calling in advance to let us know when they were arriving so we could make sure our dogs were safely inside the house (a practice they followed last year, but didn't this year despite my specific request to do so), they promised a free service in a last ditch attempt to keep our business. They promised to call in advance and make sure that the yard was sprayed thoroughly as the previous services were not effective in controlling mosquitoes or ticks. The technician arrived around 7;45 AM, no call so I scrambled to make due my dogs were safely in the house. Doors and windows were wide open so the entire house smells like the spray which was applied within inches of open windows. The entire "make it right" treatment lasted less that 10 minutes for over an acre of property. In previous years, the technician was here much longer and did a thorough job after calling us to let us know he was on his way. He would also call if he noticed an open window we he arrived. Clearly EHS does not care about their clients satisfaction or their health. There are plenty of competitors around. My recommendation is to look elsewhere. read more

We had some bees flying around that were scaring our customers and getting in to vehicles that we were servicing. We called EHS and they were out within a day and got rid of the bees. Would not hesitate to use again or recommend to anyone needing their services. read more

Be prepared to have new staff every time you turn around and lucky if you get to deal with the same tech or office person more then a few times. Office staff, supervisors and technicians are constantly getting fired. They say if you're lacking in training then they'll keep training and help you get better at your job. Really they just fire people with no warning, no added training, nothing. If you don't fit into the click, you're gone. Give your money to a company who cares about their staff! read more

During the two weeks EHS helped us deal with our pest issue, every single person I spoke to was nice, knowledgeable, patient and extremely helpful. They checked in to see how we were doing in between their visits and responded to our many questions. So far we are rid of the problem, and I could not recommend them more highly. They were the most expensive quote I received, but I think it's worth it to deal with competent professionals who made themselves available to address our concerns, even on the weekend. read more

EHS did a "good" job when they first came to inspect the house and set up the monitoring stations, but that is when they got $700+ from us. Since then, getting them to live up to their guarantee has been a pain. They are slow to get here when we call with immediate problems. They tell us that they don't have until next week. Are we supposed to tell the rodents to wait for a week before they come back into our house? I am not waiting a week for someone to come and find the problem when there is a dead mouse in the house!! They even told us that the reason they couldn't get someone here faster is because they had to fire a couple of people. Why did they fire them? Makes one wonder what type of people they are sending to your home. We'll be changing service providers!!! read more

In dealing with a rodent problem due to construction in my neighborhood, EHS showed dedication and thoroughness to their approach. From their scheduler, inspectors, and on-site technicians it is obvious their management creed is to demonstrate superior customer service and professionalism. They empower their staff to devote the time necessary to get to the bottom of the issue. Great communicators, both in person and in follow up reports, timely responses and confident, pest "detectives". And their respect and consideration of environmental impact is an added bonus. My condo association used this company for what was supposed to be monthly pest management service. Other than receiving a bill every month, not sure they ever showed up to really service the building (or certainly did not come every month based off mouse activity that should have been resolved with monthly service) and never provided a report on activity after they were supposed to visit. Then, when we terminated our contract with them, they came back to pick up bait stations and proceeded to break the equipment that the new pest management company we hired in their place had put out. I would not recommend ever using this company. They provide bad service and run bad business practices. read more
