Good Hair Day Salon is quite simply amazing. I've been going for over a year now, and have had…read morenothing but great experiences every single time! My stylist is Sara, so this review is for her; I can't speak for the other stylists but I'm sure they're all awesome as well. Sara is a miracle worker, plain and simple. The first time I came in I had no clue what haircut I wanted; I just knew I needed a big change. I told her to do literally whatever she thought looked good as long as it was shorter (I had medium length, scraggly hair) and she gave me the best haircut I had ever received (picture attached)! It put me on track to figure out what I truly loved, and now I absolutely love my hair. I started dying it last year, and have had it done by Sara each time, and it always turns out so perfectly (pictures attached!). My hair is hard to bleach and lifts very slowly, but she is so patient with it and really puts the time in to make sure it turns out right (the first time I bleached it, it took way longer than she expected and I was there past closing time, and she stayed the whole time with a positive attitude)! Her demeanor is so friendly and positive, and so is everyone else's who works there. She's also very very knowledgeable on hair products and color; and can give great advice for both hair maintenance and looks to go for! I truly love having her do my hair and I doubt I'll see anyone else for as long as possible! It really is one of the happiest places I've ever been, and I actively enjoy sitting there for long hours because the vibe is so warm and calm. Not to mention it's in a gorgeous location with a beautiful historic district and views of the Occoquan river on the upper level (which is where Sara works)! The interior is wonderful and feels very home-y and comforting, which is great. Every assistant I've had has been good, but I went in today and a new woman named Kelly was there--she was incredible! She gave me the best head massage I've ever gotten and was so kind and caring. I hope she sticks around for a long time because she made the experience even more awesome than it normally is. I've gushed enough at this point for you to get the idea; about the only possible thing that could be improved here is if they had snacks available for the clients--I would love to have some chocolate, cookies, dried fruit, nuts, stuff like that to go with the coffee, tea, and water they offer! But overall, this salon is the best I've ever been to and will get my business for a VERY long time. To everyone at Good Hair Day (and especially Sara) if you're reading this; I love you all!! And if you're on the fence about getting your hair done here, GO FOR IT! And ask for Sara ;)

If I could give zero stars to CAROLETTE I would. I felt like I left looking worse than how I came…read morein, I left feeling sad over my hair. When you're getting your hair done you're supposed to feel confident but I felt the complete opposite, insecure and have chosen not to wear it out since. I was getting my hair done for my birthday that same day and could not even wear it in a silk press because of this. I came in for a silk press on my 4C hair. Carolette started by completely greasing my scalp and the straightening it. My roots were not straightened whatsoever and because she put heavy grease on my scalp my hair had no movement and was stiff. The TRIM is my major issue with the styling she did! My hair is completely uneven, which I can agree my hair needed a trim but wow it looks like I have split ends with the trim she gave me. She CUT my hair so much shorter and I would say this is botched. I have no issue with getting my hair trimmed/cut and actually prefer bobs but this was a disaster of a job. When she finished I explained to her how my hair was uneven, she literally left one long piece on one side lol. She said while pointing at some poster that I honestly didn't look at "A TRIM WILL BE UNEVEN, IF YOU WERE GETTING A CUT THEN IT WOULD BE EVEN". I have never heard that in my life! But ok. She was defensive about my concerns she even cut me off. I tried to explain to her that if my hair needed a trim and the trim would be uneven with me being a NEW CLIENT I think it would be best to explain that. Most professional stylist will give you a consultation on how much they are cutting or even better would you as a client would prefer. I was charged $75 for the silk press and $25 for the trim. I later after realizing the extent of the "trim" and unevenness that was concealed by curls at the time, I requested a discount on the service. I've never had to ask that of a stylist before but I was just so upset over the appearance of my hair it seemed right and she discounted me 40% on the service. The way that my hair is cut I will have to spend more money to fix and possibly cut it really short to accommodate for the unevenness. I am surprised that she felt comfortable as the OWNER with the way she styled my hair and felt comfortable about letting me leave the salon that way lol. Overall, I'm still hurt over this experience and unless you want a trim like mine then you should try to avoid.

Stylist says that she does natural hair, but the first thing she asked me is if I want a protein…read moretreatment to "relax my curls". She definitely doesn't have an expertise in caring for natural hair (roughly detangled my hair) and gave me a cut but didn't style it. No twists. No coils. I'll keep looking for a natural stylist in Woodbridge.

As a military spouse, I've had my fair share of horrible stylists who have said they were blonding…read morespecialists....but were most definitely not. We just moved to the area and I set out to find a new stylist, which is always a challenge. I spent several hours checking out different recommendations, scouring Instagram, Facebook, Google and Yelp for reviews, videos, and pictures...and I settled on Danielle at Vichelles. I'm VERY happy to report it was time well spent and all the rumors were true: Danielle is fabulous!! She spent the first five minutes of our appointment listening to what my last stylist did, looking at pictures, and then asking pointed, clarifying questions before foiling my hair. After four months of growth and two hours of work, I'm beyond relived and SO happy to be looking/feeling like myself again! Danielle does spectacular work. Not only that, she's sweet and professional - and her services won't break the bank. Coming from Texas to the DMV, I was horrified to see some stylists/salons charging triple for my normal services - but, Danielle is very reasonably priced. For a partial highlight with shadow root, I paid about $170 after taxes (I did tip on top of that). Needless to say, Blonde Ladies: I've already booked my next appointment and definitely recommend you seek out her services! Next time I'll undergo a full highlight with a cut, which I expect to run me a bit more - but it's well worth the expense! Of note: the salon was chic, comfortable and fun. It was very busy despite being a Tuesday morning. The music was awesome -as was the complimentary coffee they offered. Also of note: they do not take AMEX or Discover. Credit cards charge a 4% fee. You cannot tip on top of a credit card payment - so you may want to consider paying via cash or check.

Good vibes and quality cuts! Been going for a few years now and am still happy with the resultread more
