Had them install sod under a tree; which they charged an absurd amount for. They did not inform me that the soil needed to be tilled, nor did they offer the service prior to installing sod. The new sod eventually died and I called to inform them that they should had informed me of the conditions needed for sod to grow. In return they offered to do it right for double the price. I refused and they said the best they can do to rectify their mistakes is to provide me with bag of seeds. One week later I receive about 3 tablespoons of seeds. read more

Would give this company 0 stars if I could. Made an appointment with them for a quote. He calls me 3 hours before our scheduled time and is insistent on meeting before our scheduled time. said he wasn't able to meet at the time we agreed. It was like he screwed up his schedule and tried cramming my time in. Incredibly unprofessional. I agreed to his request since I luckily didn't have anything to do at that time. This guy tried to charge me $300 for overgrown grass the size of my bedroom. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'm rather insulted that he thinks I'm dumb enough to take his price. Would NOT recommend. Enrique was unprofessional and tries to con. If you look at other reviews they talk about the company double charging. I'm not surprised with the prices he tried to give me. read more

This is as honest a review as you can ever read. I hired EP after searching for competitive quotes to trim the crepe myrtle in the front of my house. The full service I contracted for was: trim the crepe canopy back by 1/3, full yard mow, leaf clean up, and flower bed clean out. Bottom Line Up Front: I was not pleased - but this company came and made things right by me within 12 hours. While their attention to detail could use a little focus, their customer service is fabulous - and the reason I will stay a customer. The day of the scheduled service I was at work, but watching the service via my security cameras. As I watched I saw the crew working on the tree. I frantically called the office, and explained how it looked to me that the crew was removing the tree, which I did not want. Patiently, the man on the other end of the line informed me that this was a proper prune for a crepe myrtle - a fact which I did not know as I have never owned a property with this kind of tree before. He did contact the crew and advise them of my concerns, and while they did complete a proper full pruning (which - to be fair - is not what I asked for, but needed to be done and will ultimately help the tree) they finished with the tree. When I got home, I noticed they did not clean out the flower bed, as per the agreed upon quote. And here is where they won me over. I took a picture, sent and email and called. The following morning, two men called and came to my property. I spoke with Michael, showed him the flower bed, and the confirmatory email I had sent specifying exactly what I wanted. He agreed that I had requested the service, and they did not perform it and they immediately took care of it. Michael wasn't defensive, he didn't have an attitude, he wasn't impatient. He was apologetic, professional, and fast. They got it done. At the end of the day, you always have to communicate clearly. But even when you do, things sometimes get lost in translation. Make sure to compare prices! Hired this company to mow the property I rent believing their prices were competitive. I was way overcharged for frankly, a shoddy job - there was a section of the yard they didn't even bother with. After paying $123 plus $18 "tip", I found another company that only charges $68 a week!! read more

I contacted four tree service companies to remove several large dead branches from my Oak Tree; the branches were located above my roof. I needed have this done quickly since I was leaving town in a few days and did not want the worry! One company asked I fill out an "estimate request" on line and they would respond within two days; two other companies had answering machines and asked for a detailed message. None of the those two returned my messages... but one of those companies sent an estimator 3 days later who promised an emailed estimate - no estimate ever received and that was 8 days ago. The fourth company I called was EP Tree Service (recommended by a neighbor who saw my frustration). I was surprised when a person (not a machine) answered. They sent someone to provide an estimate within three hours and provided an email estimate that evening. I responded by approving the estimates after they assured me they would schedule me within the next three days (exactly what I was hoping for). Their estimate, I felt, was fair! They did great job; They came when they said they would; covered everything I was concerned about and few things over and above that I had not seen originally. When they left all was cleaner then when they arrived. They have good equipment; their employees were friendly, professional and knew what they were doing (both on the ground and in the bucket truck). Very pleased! Will use them again and have already referred them to a curious neighbor also needing some tree work! Really nice job by EP! read more

Note: my review is as a dog owner. My dog has a dog door so she can get out to pee during the day (because of an improper spay, she is incontinent and needs frequent potty breaks), which I informed them of last year when I hired them and again this year. Last year, they left the gate open and she got out. This year, she got out and they closed up the gate (presumably because they didn't notice, even though my yard is less than a quarter of an acre in total, probably an eighth fenced in) so she couldn't get back in. Luckily my friend who was watching her (as I was out of town) found her sitting on the front porch waiting. Was on an every-other week mowing circuit, but have discontinued my service. Will look for someone with a little more attention to detail. As far as mowing goes, they mow fine, but don't expect them to go above and beyond. For the price, they're adequate. read more

I hired them back in April to do weeding, remove some ivy, and mulch. I paid approx $1600, which I thought was fair at the time, due to the extensive weeding I was asking them to do. Within a week, the weeds were climbing up through the mulch. It became evident rather quickly that they did not actually weed the areas I paid them to weed, with the exception of weeding around three trees. In fairness, when I contacted them approximately a month following the service, they offered to come back out and weed the areas. I struggled with that proposition as I already felt taken advantage of. I had trusted them to do the work, while I was at work, and would have had to rely on that again. A neighbor who like to observe activity confirmed to me that she watched them only lay mulch and not weed, as they were hired to do. I hesitated posting any kind of review as I like to support local, small businesses. I decided ultimately, that I should let others know my experience, so at least you know to keep an eye on the scope of work being performed. The owner is delightful and I my intention isn't to suggest to not use them, simply be sure you are getting what you pay for. For me, I paid probably $1000-1200 too much to have them only mulch my yard...regrettably. read more

I do not recommend this company. Enrique the foreman is very personable but, does not oversee the job. The service we contracted for was not done as described by several magnitudes of order and he still wanted to be paid. We asked him to complete the work as agreed to. He decided since he did part of the work the job was complete and refuses to complete the job. The price seems good...but if they don't do the work then the consumer gets taken. I had them pull weeds, clean out my flowerbeds, trim bushes, and spread mulch. First of all, they came a day later than scheduled, and I had to call them to ensure they were still coming. They didn't even have it on the calendar. When they did come, they just cut down the weeds in the beds (instead of pulling them) and covered them with mulch. They did a terrible job trimming the bushes - they didn't even trim them all! They came while I was at work, and when I came home I had to finish the job they started. Now, a month later, all of the weeds have popped up and are growing through the mulch. It looks like they never came. read more

I have used EP a number of times over the years for all kinds of landscape work and have always been very pleased. My most recent time was this past week. They came out on very short notice and raked my whole yard and did such a thorough job of removing leaves I just wanted to give them a shout-out. They got leaves out from everywhere -- my basement stairwell, under the bushes, etc. not just from the lawn as most companies would do. Their prices are very reasonable and when I came home from work it was a godsend to see all the work they had accomplished for us in such a short timeframe. I really appreciated the professionalism of Enrique and the men on his crew. (what a breath of fresh air considering the bozo at Ground Control) They were reliable, mannerly and provided a quote within 15 minutes of our visit and their prices were more than fair. During the day of our install we experienced tornadic winds and rain and they held on until we insisted they stop and take shelter. They returned the next day (a Sunday) and completed the job. I don't know if they are trained in the design part of landscaping but since I knew mostly what I wanted and they were knowledgable about plants it worked wonderfully. E P Mowing and Landscaping did a fine job with our weekly lawn mowing. If you plan to use their services, you need to pay close attention to the bill. On more than one occasion, they billed us twice for the same service (the same mowing appeared on two different monthly invoices). They also tried to increase our mowing price during the middle of the summer from $50 to $60; however, I reminded them that they had given us an estimate for the entire year at $50/mowing. They also failed to send our monthly invoice on two occasions; instead, sending it marked "late" with the subsequent month's invoice. You will prevent being overcharged by E P Mowing and Landscaping if you pay close attention to their billing and keep good records. read more
