To be completely fair, the gym itself is nice and clean, and when I initially signed up, the staff was very welcoming. However, the manager at this Lake Forest location is absolutely horrible, unprofessional, and arrogant. I moved away and needed a closer gym, so I followed their policy and sent both an email and a physical letter to cancel my membership. Instead of processing it, they ignored it. When the renewal period came around, they hit my account with both the monthly fee AND the annual membership fee! Trying to fix this was a nightmare. I called their hotline and was left sitting on hold for an entire hour. Frustrated, I finally drove down to the gym in person. The front desk girl was actually very nice. She successfully canceled the membership and explicitly told me that the manager does have the power to issue the refund, but he was currently on a call. It turns out the manager was standing right outside the gym making a personal call. Even though he looked right at me and clearly saw me waiting, he made me stand there for 15 minutes while he finished his casual chat. When he finally walked back inside, he flat-out refused to give me a single dime back--even though I haven't stepped foot in the gym since the day I submitted my cancellation request. He didn't even have a valid reason; he just acted like "this is how it is, and nothing is going to happen to me." He was incredibly rude and dismissive. When I asked him how I could escalate the issue to higher management, he sneered and literally said, "I am the highest management and no one is above me!" The sheer arrogance and lack of customer service from this guy is unbelievable. He had the full authority to do the right thing and fix their billing mistake, but chose to power-trip instead. Planet Fitness corporate needs to look into who they have running this branch. Stay away from this location if you value your money and your sanity.

Oh yeah all they did with the club fee increase was install an infrared sauna you have to pay extra for, instead of maintaining the property As far as the actual gym equipment, they dont really fix that either. They put out of order signs on the treadmills but couldn't care less about the clunking ellipticals because they still kind of work. The type of equipment is fair though, mostly used planet fitness machines that do the job well enough When its not crowded its a decent place to workout, but its also a small gym so at peak times, there's no duplicate machines to use. He was great at pointing out where to make adjustments during exercises. There was also a group class going on at noon, which was surprisingly busy for a weekday with around 10-15 people. The class looked pretty fast paced and everyone seemed to be having fun. The gym environment was really great, everything looked clean and organized, and there was even mat space for kickboxing with a heavy weight bag. There are jerseys, gi's, and singlets of elite athletes who have trained here up on the wall. Parking was very easy at this time of day. Great gym, I definitely recommend.

Instead on this trip, I had a free room available in my account, which I wanted to redeem before expiring. First of all, the front desk people are very sweet and were very knowledgeable about the hotel and the amenities included. It was also around $35 for overnight parking, which I guess was okay considering I was only staying one night. The parking garage is adjacent to the hotel. Couple of the reasons I came is for the swimming pool and the gym. It seems this is what the hotel revolves around; that and the kid care. Entering into the hotel room, it was super clean and very nice. They have a no-smoking policy in the room, which I love because certain hotels don't have that kind of policy and the rooms smells horrible. When I woke up in the morning, I had a view of the pool and spa. It seemed there was a class in the pool and it looked really fun and I didn't know they had classes. Unfortunately, I didn't have any time to see the gym, but I will my next trip to this hotel. Next time I head to this hotel, I'll have more to review but for now, this is all I have to say. The only thing, I wish they had a track or allowed us to run around the building while our kid is at the child care. Treadmills are tough for me. I tried the facial services too and the esthetician was great. She recommended some treatments and it was quite relaxing.
