    Emergency Service was a life saver!

    My Macbook Pro crashed last week and they came to an Epic rescue! I was amazed that they answered the phone in the middle of the night. Their tech was vary helpful with logistics of the service and scheduling a late night pickup. Sad to see had how so many trolls are trying to bug these guys. NYC can be so negative at times. One of the reasons why I chose not to live here; It's great however to have such services available when you need them. I initially brought my dead laptop to a repair shop, but they told me it was impossible to recover my files. All they could offer was to replace the hard drive and restore the system, the but without my files being recovered. I then found Epic and called them as a last ditch effort. There is no question that they know their craft. They came through for me as promised! A bit of warning, they work by appointment only, so you can't just drop in. They did however offer a pickup option in the middle of the night. They put all my recovered files on cute portable G-tech drive. They then helped me setup a solid backup routine. I hope I never need data recovery services in the future; but if I or anyone I know, ever do, this is where I will turn to for help.

    Excellent data recovery service. They recovered my Laptop's SSD RAID Hard drive. Jim was very helpful in getting my files recovered as promised. Everything was recovered within 24 hours. Them coming out to my office and give me a breakdown of how the process works was convenient. They installed a new SSD Hard Drive in the laptop and restored it as it was. I was able to get to my meeting without any delay. Thank you!

During the conversation, he also provided helpful and professional advice regarding my other tech-related concerns. Overall, I felt that he genuinely cares about both the service he provides and the people he helps. Because of this follow-up and support, I am revising my overall experience to a 4-star review. I also hope the company's culture continues to reflect this level of care and professionalism and continues to support both customers and staff. --------------------------------------- Previous review -I brought my MSI laptop to this shop for a lid repair. At the time, there was a small crack on the left side near the hinge, and I was worried it might get worse , but the screen bezel was intact. I was initially told that once the part arrived, they would notify me to bring in the laptop, and the repair would then take about a full day. The part arrived on December 30, 2025, I dropped off the laptop on January 6, and picked it up on January 9. -After I got home, I turned on the webcam to prepare for a meeting, and noticed that the screen displayed a blue image. I contacted the shop immediately. I was asked to bring the laptop back for further inspection, but no explanation was provided regarding the possible cause of the issue. -Since the shop is about an hour away, I asked whether a remote diagnosis could be done first to better understand the situation. I was informed that there would be a charge for that service. At the same time, I looked into common causes of this issue and found that it can result from a protective film not being removed during repair. However, this possibility was not discussed. -If a likely cause had been communicated, it would have helped me better understand whether an immediate return visit was necessary. Without that information, the situation was unclear and required additional time and travel to resolve. -More recently, about four months after the repair, I noticed that the bezel near the hinge has cracked, even though I have been handling the laptop carefully. This area was not damaged prior to the repair. Given that the hinge area is a high-stress point, I am concerned that the repair or reassembly may have contributed to this issue. Overall, my experience was disappointing. While the initial interaction felt welcoming, it was followed by a noticeably self-protective approach when issues arose. Although the repair was completed, I encountered additional problems afterward that required significant time and effort to resolve. Based on this experience, I strongly recommend that others ask detailed questions about the repair process, confirm what testing will be performed, and ensure the device is thoroughly checked at the shop before taking it home. In general, I believe that clear communication and transparency are important in building trust with customers over the long term.

    I had a very disappointing experience with iFix NY Midtown regarding my ROG Ally X repair…read more Last Tuesday, they texted me saying they had diagnosed an issue with the left analog stick controller board assembly, which was affecting input and control response. They said the repair would include replacing the left analog stick controller board assembly to restore functionality. The quoted cost was $230 + tax, with an estimated turnaround time of 2-5 business days. After that, I had to call almost every day just to get updates. Then today, I received a different message saying they had received replacement parts, but not the full set. They said they could replace the damaged analog sticks themselves, but were still waiting for the round LED light rings around the sticks. They also said they could return the device with the controllers functional, but the left stick would have no LED light ring. That was concerning because the original diagnosis and quote were for the left analog stick controller board assembly, but the later message described replacing the analog sticks themselves and leaving the LED ring unfinished. For $230 + tax, I do not think a partial or incomplete repair is acceptable. When I went to pick up the device, I had already called and was told it was ready. But when I arrived, I still had to wait around 30 minutes while they reassembled it. That is not "ready for pickup." To be fair, the owner was there and was kind, apologetic, and professional. My issue was not with him. My issue was with the repair technician handling my device. His attitude was horrendous, and the interaction felt careless and unprofessional. The worst part is that after testing my ROG Ally X in-store, the left trigger felt worse than before, and the light around the stick was no longer working. I brought the device in for a specific repair, and I left feeling like it had been returned with new problems. As someone who runs a tech company and understands customer service, I was shocked by how poorly the repair side of this was handled. I had other products I was considering bringing to them, but after this experience, I will not be returning. A kind owner cannot make up for a disorganized, incomplete, and careless repair process.

The recovered data was delivered in a highly disorganized format that was difficult to navigate and verify. Because of the condition of the recovered files, we were unable to determine whether our complete photo library had actually been recovered. We were told that missing files were likely mixed into the "Lost Files" recovery. After receiving the recovered data, we independently used recovery software costing less than $100 and recovered an intact 810 GB Mac Photos Library with organized chronological browsing by year and month. This recovery was substantially more usable and easier to verify than what we received from Secure Data Recovery. Had we understood that our primary photo library was not being delivered as a functioning Photos Library, we would have evaluated the value of the service very differently. We contacted the company multiple times regarding our concerns, asked questions about missing data, and requested additional assistance. After expressing our dissatisfaction and requesting further help, we did not receive any further response. This review reflects our personal experience and the recovery results we observed.

The technician was unfamiliar with either device. The photo printer, as connected, smudged badly, which the technician said was the result of using the wrong paper. He managed to get the CD player working by attaching it to my phone charger. I left town for the holiday weekend. Service charge $300+ I returned from the holiday weekend and realized that the technician had taken my business printer off-line. I couldn't get it working and they were unable to resolve the problem over the phone so, on May 28, they sent the technician back to my apartment where he got the printer back on-line. Service charge $200+. I went out to lunch and, when I returned, I found that the printer was again off-line. I called and the issue was resolved by my unplugging the printer, waiting a few minutes, and plugging it back in. The unplugging technique, such as it was, would only last a few hours with the result that almost every time I needed to print or scan, I had to unplug, wait and re-plug. Additionally, the connection between the computer and printer had become very slow. I called again and requested that they send me a different technician who came on June 5. He put my printer back on line, did something that made the photo printer actually work, and was able to get the printer to respond more quickly when printing. Service charge $200+ June 6 the printer was again off-line. I called that morning and was told to "calm down." I'm done with Lincoln Business Machine.
