When my iPad catastrophically broke down, and major surgery out-of-state was only a literal couple of days away, Appleberry did the impossible and had it fixed!! It required being sent deep into Brooklyn due to the complex breakdown inside the iPad, and wouldn't be ready until very late the following day, and not be sent back until the morning after that. After we had to leave for Massachusetts. so Sunny dropped everything and personally drove to Brooklyn to pick up the iPad as soon as the physical repairs were finished, and brought it right back, to meet us with. And he threw in a free charger, too. I was able to have surgery with my iPad keeping me company through my hospital stay, and my painful recovery. I will only go to Appleberry Repairs for my or my family's iPad and iPhone repairs, from now on. I started to panic because I needed it taken care of that day and couldn't believe I was corresponding with the wrong 'Sunny'?? Could there possibly be two Sunnys who both fix Macs? Indeed there are. Details sorted and a rush across town, I ended up at AppleBerry in midtown. Talk about happy accidents. One day my daughter's iPad Air 5th stopped charging via the USBC port. After trying various combinations of chargers and cables (genuine, mfi-certified etc), nothing worked. Having experienced this "can't charge" issue with my iPad Pro, I bought the magic keyboard so that I can passthrough charge from the keyboard for my daughter's iPad. This worked, but not really ideal for a young kid as the keyboard limits the iPad to landscape mode. Anyways, I got on Yelp and sent off several quote requests for the repair. I didn't bother with the "geniuses" at Apple as they would just tell me to buy another since they don't repair iPads. I received responses from every repair shop and Appleberry gave me the fairest price. They ended up also being the best in terms of location since I worked around the area. Win win. I reached out to Sunny, brought the iPad Air to the shop and he was great. I left the iPad with him and just told him it wasn't a rush so take your time to repair it. Having researched the repair process for the USB port, I know the controller might also need to be replaced along with the port. And Sunny gave me the price for that part if it ended up having to be replaced, again reasonable price. Sunny gave me progress updates and after a few days it was ready for pick up. The iPad is repaired with a 90 days warranty of the work and parts replaced. I definitely will come back when I need any service work for my devices. These guys really came through when it seemed the whole city had shut down. Since March, my keyboard had been acting up, and my keys began to fall out. I had one of those units that was built with a faulty keyboard, but because of COVID, couldn't get it replaced by the Genius Bar in time. In June, I reached out to Appleberry about my keyboard. I had also reached out to a few other technicians -- these guys were byfar the best price, and the turnaround time was amazing. My computer looks like new. I can type again. The keys don't feel like they're going to fall out, and it's like typing on actual keys (weird, right?). Also, I dropped off on one day at around 3 PM, and had my computer back by noon the next day. Phenomenal! I had an issue with my Iphone and I hesitated to go to the Apple Store (as I have not been very satisfied with the experience I had with them). Initially, I did go to Apple and they shrugged the issue off, claiming that my phone worked fine and that it needed a simple reset. My iPhone 5S screen got completely and utterly shattered to hell on a film set, and these guys were able to fix it perfectly. Only took about an hour (they seemed pretty busy too), and I was able to wait there. They have drop-off service as well. The staff is very friendly and professional, office is nice, and they have a comfortable leather couch to wait on. Free wifi too if you have a device that isn't waiting to be fixed, it was fast enough for me to stream HBOGo while I waited. The price is definitely right if you don't have Apple Care- $129 to completely replace the screen, plus there was a $10 off coupon for checking in on Yelp (as of me writing this). Apple was charging ~$260 to replace it and AT&T wanted a $200 "copay" even though I had it insured. After the repairs I just got it's good as new for a lot less. Note that this store is on the 6th floor, just look for a stereotypical office building entrance amongst all the shops on 7th ave that says "566" in big letters above the door. They replaced the screen but broke camera pin on logic board, head of two screws on such that now even they can't take off logic board if they have to, lost four screws and a supporting plate. Found this place searching on Yelp because the other place my friend suggested to me was pretty pricey even if they did offer a more convenient method of fixing your broken iPhone screen (they come to you - what?!). Regardless, I trusted the reviews I saw on Yelp! and decided to test my luck and try out AppleBerry to fix my cracked iPhone 4S screen. I made an appointment online (I was lucky and got the last spot for the day), walked myself over to their location and handed my phone in to have them fix 'er up. A couple hours later, I returned to pick up my (hopefully) fixed iPhone. I did have to wait a little while, but I didn't mind. We called and they said come on over and the guy took a look at the phone and he suspected the battery puffed out and upon closer examination, it was not the battery but the screen popped out and got messed up. We told him we had just been there to fix it and he said to pick it up in an hour and he will give us a discount since we had it fixed there so recently. He gave us a discount and the phone is fixed. The people that work at this store are truly remarkable. And they dont take a long time to fix your broken device. I bought a groupon for repair services for my iPad mini. To my surprise when I went to the location at 34th st, there was no store there. A man in the building told me they moved out a few months prior. I called the number on the groupon... out of service, so now I'm getting upset. I google them, find another location, call them to see if they were still open, they answer and tell me to come by. Just a 3 stops away from where I was, I get off, find the location, just passed the restaurant on the corner of 7th ave. I talk to the men inside, they tell me that my groupon is for the old location. Now I'm getting worried because I thought this was the NEW location for the OLD store. And why is groupon selling products for stores that dont exist anymore. They were decent enough to accept my groupon plus tax and a small fee for the dents they would have to fix to get the new screen on the iPad. Akat (who is Apple certified), told me hes going to look at it before I pay anything... and at the end of the day, he called me to say it needed a new motherboard and he can repair before their closing. I actually got two iPhones repaired here. Despite doing a hard reset, the flashlight of my mom's iPhone X wouldn't turn on at all even to take pictures. I called multiple places, and they all said that they weren't able to fix it. With a little more research, I found this place. After leaving the phone there for about an hour and a half, the gentleman was able to replace the flashlight and called me when it was ready. The flashlight works perfectly now. I also completely destroyed the screen of my 6 plus to the point that I had to tape part of it so that I wouldn't accidentally get glass imbedded in my fingers. After picking up the iPhone X, I waited in person for him to replace the screen of the 6 plus, and he was able to finish in less than ten minutes. I dropped my phone on the corner of a sidewalk while playing football with my dog in the park just a week before I had to move, to middle of nowhere where phone repair places are scarce. I work in apps for a living and couldn't see the bottom half of my screen, the LCD was black, so I needed it fixed fast so I could keep working. I also have a Note 10+ and I feel like most people specialize in iPhone but never Android, so I put out feelers through yelp for quotes from every place in NY. They responded pretty quickly, and gave a quote similar to the lower end of most of the other quotes. Only 2 quoted lower but barely and the plus side is they let me pay with a card which no other place wanted to let me do. Obviously coming up with that much cash fast during these times is hard so I appreciated that. They also showed me how they order the parts directly from Samsung, unlike other places that get cheap knockoffs and then your phone ends up breaking down the line. They even took a screenshot of the Samsung site order for me to reassure me it would work out. They were able to fix the phone in 2 hours, but beforehand showed me the process and warned me that, while rare, because of the way the Note is built, you can sometimes crack the back while repairing the front. If that happened they would cover it for free. Of course that happened to me, but they ordered the part right away and had it fixed in 15 minutes the next time I came by. They are always courteous, super transparent, don't order shady parts, and have a guarantee on their receipt in case anything goes wrong with their fix. So I would definitely recommend to anyone with an android! read more

Upper West Side Story--- About a week ago, I took my most prized possession, a broken, powerless, old iPhone to see if it could be repaired. We decided on a shop, Appleberry iPhone and Mac Repair on 57th, partially because it looked fairly reputable, but mainly because it was right next door to the apartment building Leonard Bernstein lived in for almost 2 decades. That clearly has to count for something wonderful. The entire ride there, I kept telling myself: "Do not tell them why this phone is so important, David. You'll be tempted to tell them. Consider stapling your own lips shut or you will pay the literal price: the price they jack through the roof because they know you'll pay it out of sheer desperation!" So, of course, the instant I walked in the door and a man named Sunny smiled at me, I opened my (woefully unstapled) lips and spewed a run-on sentence in the key of Desperation Major. "Hi, I'm David, can you fix this phone because I really need it to work again because it's got about four years worth of text messages between my mom and me in it and I really need to see them if at all possible because my mom passed away last year and we used to talk about everything and so I need those text messages so I can remember everything we talked about for four years thank you!" If Sunny was seeing dollar signs, his poker face would've been championship-level-ready. He futzed with my crown jewel of iPhones, told me he'd need to take a closer look at it and that he'd call when he knew what needed to be done. I walked away from Appleberry iPhone and Mac Repair wishing that I still prayed... and making a mental note to keep an industrial-sized carpet stapler on my person at all times. After a couple days of phone calls, Sunny decided it was the motherboard that needed to be replaced, (the motherboard irony was not lost on me). Two days later, he called to tell me it was ready for pick up. I stood in front of Appleberry nervous, both about the possibility I might have lost those precious text messages and the astronomical sum of money I'd probably have to pimp myself out for a decade to pay. Sunny found a little brown envelope containing my cellular Holy Grail, powered it on, and handed it to me. I immediately hit that little green button. There they were. Every single text dating back to 2014. In a rare moment of restraint, I didn't kiss or even throw my arms around Sunny, I just tearfully thanked him as he asked: "Do you see everything you were hoping to see?" "Everything". Sunny charged us $160 plus tax for the replacement of the motherboard and the battery in my old iPhone. Without knowing the story behind that phone, most people would have charged double that; knowing the story, Sunny knew I would've found a way to pay anything he asked for. But he didn't ask for it. so I purchased this screen to repair my laptop that broke two months ago 8/8/20. I took the part and the laptop to apple berry on 8/10/2020. When they fixed the laptop they informed me that there was a glitch that would appear occasionally. I did not worry about that becuase I never saw the glitch. They also informed me that since I purchased my own screen I was unable to benefit from the warranty perks which I understand.
