This is the worst , I repeat worst customer service I've ever had. They were impossible to onboard with and after several phone calls and really difficult communications. I'm now in a dispute with them and my bank to get back a fee of $190 - a fee for a service they did not even do or get my media to do. Initially you had to pay this onboard fee.. of $190. I tried to mail them the media to be fixed but, first they had this ridiculous on-boarding process where you had to sign up for $190 fee before I knew how much restoring the media would cost. I was desperate to get the media restored so did it ... Then waited for the "paperwork " they said they'd send. . They never sent me the right form after I paid and we had an insane back and forth where they wouldn't give out my address when I called several times to find out where to send the media and get process going. The guy there was paranoid and crazy about giving out their address and didn't want to give out the address on the phone. This was infuriating.. now that they had $190 of our companies money. . SHADY. He was obnoxious and unfair and unreasonable. I tried to go elsewhere and I called my bank to reverse the fee for no service done and it got reversed and then they fought me back to collect the $190 which I found out a month later ! I'm now in dispute to get this reversed again. They are crooks. They never EVEN got the source media to restore..yet tried to take $190. I went somewhere else that fixed it in a week with no hassle and no hair raising encounters. This is the worse business and deserves horrible ratings across the board. The guy there really has infuriated me and my accountant for this charge they refuse to give us back --- GO ELSEWHERE. I obliviously put my Sonnet Fusion and my GSpeed raid hard drives in my luggage on a trip to London, only to discover that they were both clicking a duet when I arrived back home. I have over 30GB of irreplaceable files that I needed immediately! So I called a few places in the States and got a few quotes over the phone. Everyone else I spoke to didn't seem to have a clue. To be fair I don't think you speak to actual Techs when you call most companies. I went with this company since their phone rep had the patience to listen to me ranting about my files and how I thought I was protected since they're both RAID; "Not true" the guy said, and enlightened me on basically how it all works. They couldn't give me a quote without their techs looking at my raids first; but were able to give it to me the same day. In short, they pretty much recovered 99% of my files within days; when everyone else was quoting weeks. They also got my raids running again with new hard drives! It sad to see that Trolling is allowed on these websites, since it's obvious to me that this company and its engineers are solid. Epic delivered what was quoted on time, and then some. I never thought I would need something like this until it happened over the week. I had a G-RAID with all my family Pictures, Videos and biz project files in it. It all of a sudden decides to fail on me. I had no other copy or backup. I called GT Support and they advised me to swap out the Hard Drive that failed with a new one but that didn't seem to work. I again tried calling gt support over the weekend but couldn't reach them. I called a few places but they weren't available, while other companies needed me to send it out to them. I then called Epic where they told me they can't give me an estimate without seeing your Hard Drive first. Since they seemed to know what they were talking about and had a fast turn-around time, I went with them. Then one of their guys popped up at my door within an hour, took it back their lab, and called me that night with an Estimate. Their estimate was less than 3 other places I called prior. So today their guy pops up at my door with all my recovered files other than great advice on what to buy and use. THAT IS SERVICE! - These guys just saved me thousands. What a wild start to 2026. My MacBook Pro crashed after it got water damaged when rain water snuck in my laptop bag. I took it to a local repair shop; but they couldn't fix or recover it. They said the memory is permanently on the motherboard and it's encrypted. I looked up data recovery companies in NYC, but most wanted me to send it out with FedEx. The sad part is, I thought I had a backup on our company RAID server but that was too old. Since Epic was open late, I called them and a Tech picked it up within 2 hours. They told me MacBook Data Recovery from water damage is very difficult and sometimes impossible. They gave me a good estimate within a few hours and recovered all my files. They put it on a really cool portable SanDisk SSD. The laptop still works, but they said I should replace ASAP and back it up often on our RAID server. They helped me set that up automatic scheduled backups. I'm thinking on going back to my trusty Lenovo or a Dell. ‍ They are truly local. No shipping it out and anxiety with all that. Last year this company got me out of a bind. If it wasn't for them my Company would have lost a ton of money. We had a disaster recovery planned out; however my team later discovered our Server wasn't backing up anything. We thought since we had a raid server we were covered; but putting in new hard drives didn't help. We called epic at 2am and they popped up 30 minutes later. In short, they recovered all our files and had us up and running again within a few hours. Their technician gave our IT Team great advice on how to check backups often. We were going to toss the Dell Server after the incident but thankfully we were able to continue using it after they repaired it. Backups were more reliable with the new system setup. A few weeks ago we had a flood in our Tech floor and the server went down. Epic techs came to the rescue once again. They even gave us a loner Server while they worked on getting the Dell to run again. I'm glad to say it took them 1 day to get it up and running again. So far they are 2 for 2. I came in with a bootloop issue on my iPhone 11 caused by a nearly 100% full storage, making the phone unable to reach the home screen UI (just a white apple logo in the screen's center). I had this phone since 2019 and didn't wanna risk losing 6 years of memories due to someone's lack of proficiency. In the end EDRL was able to get my data back intact. I don't really leave reviews for anything, but these guys know what they're doing for sure. Even if you don't pick them, be very selective when searching recovery services ESPECIALLY for apple products... one wrong move triggers a security wipe and its over. You don't want just anybody handling this. I don't think I can legally disclose pricing but it definitely takes a good chunk of your wallet if your issue is similar to mine. With non-apple products probably not so much. This is mostly because of the nature/complexity of the service itself--Epic Data actually charged me way lower than most other places in NYC would. Three days is all it took their wonderful Technicians to get my files out of my dead hard drive. It was working one minute; then right when I got home from a meeting, the little devil decided to start clicking ever so slightly when i plugged it into my Macbook. I called a few places but the only company that was open were these life savers. Their technician picked up my hard drive on Friday night, then called me with an estimate a few hours later. I gave them the Go and crossed my fingers. They gave me an update on Sunday night which was a little later than I expected, but at least they gave me some good news. I had to fly out last night so they sent me a link online and I downloaded all my recovered files today! They pretty much got everything that I wanted. There were some files that had some issues but nothing critical. They pretty much saved my life with their prompt professional service. These guys just saved my a** again! They recovered 10TB of files from my external Raid hard drive. My "Elite Pro" wasn't so "Elite" when my breaker tripped last week. It disappeared from Finder after I restarted. I tried using some recovery Apps found online; but they couldn't see it for some reason. After my first data loss and recovery experience a few years back, I thought I was all set with this "Raid 5" backup; but found it hard to backup my massive raid to a single hard drive (given its 12TB size). MacBook Pro experts! Epic Data Recovery recovered all my files from my Macbook Pro Laptop. I went to a few Data Recovery places in the city last week, but they didn't seem to know what they were talking about. Others told me they wanted to send it out and it would take weeks to get it done. John explained everything to me in great detail and gave me payment options, where others didn't. Last night, my iPhone was still stuck in a boot-loop after charging it overnight. I tried everything with no luck. My iCloud was no help. The last backup was months ago. I have no idea why. I just got back from a trip and my iPhone stopped working after I charged it on a flight. I don't know what happed but it kept saying I need to Restore it. Thank you very much for all your help last night. Epic recovered all my files from my Western Digital nightmare. My Hard Drive fell down a flight of stairs as I was grabbing it out of my bag. The gurus at Epic were fast returning my late night call. Picked up my water damaged Macbook and iPhone 15 Pro at 11pm and had everything recovered within 3 days. My MacBook pro crashed 2 weeks ago. It wouldn't start up even with my battery fully charged or when plugged in to the charger. My files were backed up; but the laptop is only 6 months old. My company was doing an important video shoot for several days, then my SD Memory Card went stupid.
