The restaurant was NOT busy. Sat in the vestibule waiting for our to-go food for 20 minutes while I could see our food sitting behind the counter the entire time. They maintained that it wasn't ready yet while it is getting ice cold. Finally they realize that's my food. Their very first question is, "how much would you like to tip?" I didn't take many pictures because I really enjoyed the egg and chorizo portion of my meal however, my rice was ice cold and there were hard chunks of old rice and my beans looked unappetizing. The egg and chorizo was delicious (not as spicy as expected) the tortillas were warm and soft and the sauce was really good. My husband got the chicken and waffles, the chicken looked nothing like expected it looked like a large chicken nugget but he said is was very good. On the other hand how do you mess up a waffle twice?? It was over done and nothing but crunchy with zero flavor. Our server was very nice but the people in the kitchen were loud and rough housing (sounded like playing and throwing things). Oh and there was also a smell at our table and I couldn't find where it was coming from, smelled like straight sewage. I also ordered a hot vanilla latte that was very hot but very good!! Well it's unfortunate that the food is not great. The change seems to not be for the best. The only reason it gets a second star is because service is pretty good still. We would use this restaurant for monthly breakfast meetings. With up to 10 people invited, we don't always know who is joining. People are often late. The new policy where they won't seat a group until everyone is present(even with reservations) is tedious and problematic. I stopped in here for a quick breakfast with my mother before heading back out of town. We were seated promptly and our server gave us plenty of attention throughout the experience. I was happy to see an option for bloody mary's and mimosas and we each decided to try one. Their breakfasts are large and neither one of us can eat that much in the morning so we split the huevos rancheros (hold the pico on the side due to a disdain for cilantro on my part). I've been twice, both times as part of small group. I do not like the coffee, but others in the group did. I don't eat pork, but on my recent trip we ordered boss bacon for the table and everyone else really enjoyed it. The breakfast potatoes were very yummy on both visits. The mimosas were so good they ended up passed around the table for all to enjoy. The wheat toast was disappointing. One order was burnt and not eaten. The other seemed heavy on butter but also kind of bland. So disappointed. Had a coupon to use, that I got in the mail, so I decided to try this place out. My food didn't come out, despite the rest of my table being served theirs. The manager came over a gave a half-hearted "sorry," and didn't offer to comp my meal despite waiting at least 45 min. This place was so cute! Nice, clean with a modern farmhouse decor. We are visiting from Chicago, so this was a needed stop. This past weekend we visited Epic Egg for the first time because we got a coupon in the mail for BOGO free. It has a classic diner atmosphere and they advertise themselves as fresh and local. At first we thought that this meant the produce, meat, and dairy was local, but after visiting I'm going to guess that the owners were local (Colorado). Our meals were pretty good. The portions are quite large and come with your choice of bread. They put way too much butter on the bread so I'd ask for light in the future - it was dripping off the slices as I held them up. We also ordered Aloha Mimosas that in my opinion for $6 were too small. We probably got half of a champagne glass worth and most was just pineapple juice - it was so watered down there was no "bubbly". We might go back to try a few other things. They have a huge menu with lots of choices but not a lot in the way of light and crisp. Lots of French toasts and egg and meat centered dishes. read more
