After scouring the web for a specific board and size I came in to the shop for some bindings. I worked with Tucker and found him to be very knowledgable and friendly. He gave me a few options in a stiff binding to pair with my Libtech Jamie Lynn Phoenix and ended up going with a pair of Salomon Quantum bindings. I took them up to Copper this week and they were an absolute dream. It was a great deal too coupled with the mailed coupon. read more

This is a four star review with a caveat. So here's why CS&G gets four stars: They're well stocked and the staff is genuinely interested in helping. I'm relatively new to skiing and I walked in the front door. Almost immediately someone from the front register area approached me and offered to help. I told them what I wanted (used set of skis and bindings, boots, helmet, poles) and what my budget range was (none of your damn business). The guy from the front explained that they have an adult trade-in program for beginners and that they also sell used gear. He walked me through the pros and cons of each and then introduced me to a alpine gear salesperson. That sales guy walked me through what he though the best ways to portion out my stated budget was, again explaining the pros and cons of each option. Everyone there was really patient, knowledgable and I was able to walk about 45 minutes later (mind you, I know very little about ski gear) fully outfitted and UNDER budget. Oh, and you can return your boots after five "on snow" days for servicing, adjustment, or full in store credit if you're not happy with them. Here's the caveat: There are some times when CS&G is just a no-go zone. It seems that most weekends that the place is absolutely mobbed. Since the staff is pretty committed to offering thorough service...wait times can be very, very lengthy. This problem is really exaggerated from about two weeks before Thanksgiving through Christmas. This isn't really their fault, if anything the reason the wait time is so pronounced is because they genuinely want to help everyone effectively. And a note on all gear retailers in the Denver Metro Area. Guys, please consider putting up prominent signs that read "No Jerk Offs." Hopefully this will deter some of the clientele that: (1) is unreasonably impatient (i.e. expecting a hour turnaround on ski tuning when there is obviously a backlog of work for the shop guys and you should've realized these things take time to do right); (2) behaves like an entitled child (i.e. foot-tapping, finger-snapping, heavy-sighing); (3) does not control their own entitled children (i.e. "Cassidy/Skyler/Taylor/other gender neutral name, its okay if you climb the displays at the store honey! That's just you expressing yourself!"). read more

Great store and wonderful service. Have been waiting on a replacement strap for my Rome bindings for a week or so. Chris in the service center was very helpful and replaced my strap free of charge in less than 5 minutes so I can get back on the slopes. Very knowledgeable staff with great selections and prices. Went there yesterday to purchase a new ski helmet and a pair of goggles to get ready for the season. I was fortunate enough to speak to a very knowledgeable and professional sales associate named Dave. He took his time to make sure I get the best product that fits my needs. Awesome experience today at CO Ski and Golf. Courtney the cashier was an awesome help setting aside our purchase till we were ready and being patient with me and my 4 kids. Also, hats off to Jason P tonight who had amazing patience fitting 3 of my kids for brand new skis. My kids wouldn't sit still, but he didn't flinch and helped us out with outstanding customer service so we could have the kids skis ready for the next morning. Kudos to this business. They had a decent selection but note they carry pretty much only name brand. Not the place to shop if you are looking for cheap gear that you will only use once. Low rating is due to the guy that was "helping" with the ski goggles. He was rude and impatient. I tried asking him a question on what goggles he recommended and why. I told him I wanted to keep it under $300.00. He just said they're all the same just get whatever. I found a pair I liked that were Priced at $254.00. I found other identical pairs that were priced $294.00. I asked him why this one was lower. He walked off and came back with them priced @ $294.00. He said they were priced wrong. I asked him if they would honor their price at $254.00 He just said "nope" and stuck them on the shelf. Thanks for nothing... Note: The goggles have all been handled, dropped, scratched and are in torn up packaging. They need to have just one of each on display where customers are not handling all the inventory. read more

Bad customer service...stood in the boot section for half an hour today before I had to ask someone for help. I dropped $600 on a new pair of boots here yesterday and came back to get some custom footbeds. The sales rep told me that he would not do it because they were "too busy". Way to lose a sale on some custom $150 cork footbeds and the $400 + I was going to spend on Marker bindings...oh, and a customer. I would rather shop at REI then here again. Who is too busy to sell something to someone willing to buy? Ridiculous... read more

Every year we do the junior ski trade program with our kids. I can't recall the exact specifics, but we trade out the skis and boots each year as our kids grow (or in the case of my tiny son, doesn't grow). I really like the staff at this location and hate to give a low rating, but they screwed up my ski mounting. I have a pair of Icelantic Nomads that I was having mounted with Hammerhead telemark bindings. This shop did a traditional mount without reading the instructions on the ski, even after I pointed it out. Now I'm mounted a couple of cm back from where I should be. I'm not super picky and don't want to have them redrilled. CO Ski and Golf is an Icelantic dealer and this location is a telmark shop. The techs should at least listen to the customer. In addition they mounted the hammer heal portion backwards. That's an easy fix, but come on, look at a picture. Bottom line, nice staff but take your telmark gear somewhere else. read more

Horrible customer service, they just lost a potential customer. I went in there to look at some iron sets and not a single employee asked if I needed help. When I approached an employee and asked if they carried any used sets he looked at me as if I was crazy and was rather rude. The prices on the new sets seemed substantially higher as well than the other places I checked (PGA Tour Superstore and Golf Galaxy). I have learned my lesson- no more Colorado Ski and Golf for me. read more

This place has a decent selection, but the staff is not knowledgable. Just a bunch of punk kids. Plus, I went in and bought a pair of skis for my kids in their ski trade in program, they said I could not adjust the bindings myself. These are not rentals, rather skis I own. Then when I checked out, they charged me $50 to take 30 seconds to adjust the kids bindings to the boots. Total ripoff. I will never go back. Lousy golf store too. read more

Went there to get my board waxed as I have done in the past. Dude in the ski/snowboard area wanted to yap with his coworker for a bit before he helped me out. When he did, he said it would be a few days before he they can wax my board and will "Have it ready by Monday." Every other time I came, they did it right then and there. This dude was obviously not doing anything and then he had the nerve to get an attitude when I mentioned it. Bro, just wax my board real quick, and I'll be out of your hair. Aside from the horrible customer service, this place is overly priced. I even have a $80 discount card, that I'm willing to sell to someone for 75% of my he value because I refuse to support this place. I got my board waxed at a different store within the next hour for cheaper. F this place and their week service. Not snowboarder friendly. read more

What a waste of a golf store.. We went there last Sunday and first off we thought that they were closed because there were no cars in the parking lot. They were actually open and we proceeded to shop for a putter for my father for fathers day. A few days earlier we got a mail advert that said all putters were 20% off and we wanted to take advantage of that. when we went to the register to pay for the putter we mentioned the ad and all the employees said there was no such thing. They told us that there was no such sale and basically accused us of lying. We left without buying and when we got to the car found the ad. Instead of going inside to show them they were stupid, we went to Golf Galaxy were they matched the price and were so much nicer! read more

They even encouraged me to donate my "totaled" skiis to them so they could make shingles for their patio area. Great service! It had been a few years since I'd been on the slopes after a bad snowboarding accident so I wasn't sure if I wanted to ski or snowboard when I finally made the decision to get back out there. I opted to go the ski route since it's what I originally learned first and bought a pair of boots (I was just going to rent skis for that season). Turns out, my feet are much happier in snowboard boots strapped to one board instead of two. They let me exchange out the ski boots (even after using them 3 times) for a pair of snowboard boots. A tall black man with rad dreads got me fitted and out the door lickety split! I will be back this season to search for my perfect board! read more

Great hard goods selection (skis, snowboards, boots, etc) but a pretty uninspired collection of apparel. I go here when I already know what I want but want to pay less. The sales people will negotiate and they will be very efficient (i.e. mounting your skis quickly, locating the product you want elsewhere). read more

I have been to CS&G many, many times, mostly the S. Wadsworth store which is near me but I've also been to the main store at Havana, and the Park Meadows location. I have had one or two minor issues but overall, the people at CS&G have been very good to me over the years. I'm a very experienced skier, I usually know what I want before I go to buy gear and am looking for the best price on that item. Even though I usually know pretty much what I want, I'm open to like products and their features. The sales people at CS&G always seem to know their gear and know it well. They usually match the right level gear to my ability and style. In 2011 I bought a new pair of Volkl Mantra's at the Wadsworth store. All season long I had a constant problem with them not gliding efficiently. They seemed to stick to the snow. I had them tuned 4 times, twice at CS&G and once each at two other ski shops but nothing changed. CS&G helped me get in contact with Volkl. I have to say Volkl was very difficult to deal with and I'm pretty sure they just flat out lied to me. Volkl claimed they inspected and tested my skis and found nothing wrong, and shipped them back to me at the Wadsworth CS&G shop. When I picked them up I was livid. I wouldn't have wanted to deal with me at that point. Their lead ski tech asked what was going on so I explained it to him and how pissed off I was that I just wasted over $500 on new skis that were pretty much worthless. He said he wanted to try some things and asked if I could wait, he would work on them immediately. It took him about 45 min to an hour but I was desperate at this point. $500 is a lot of money on my budget. He found that the base was concave and said it was a manufacturing defect if he was right. He told me to ski them then come back and let him know if there was any change. He'd seen this once or twice before with new skis and said every Mfr has this occur on occasion. I took the skis out and instantly felt the difference!! I was bouncing off the ceiling when I went back to CS&G to tell him how great they were now. He was glad but said he had to grind off probably 2-3 seasons of life from the base to get them flat. While I was happy that CS&G solved the problem, I was pretty P.O.'d at Volkl. Clearly they didn't do anything except hold my skis somewhere for a couple months during ski season. The ski tech and a manager suggested writing a professional sounding letter to Volkl to tell them what had happened. I did that, and 3 weeks later received an email from Volkl stating they were replacing my skis under warranty. They weren't nice about it but they did it and the guys at CS&G get big kudos from me for the help and guidance. Had Volkl not done anything and CS&G couldn't make my skis right, they told me early on they would take care of me and make sure I had skis that worked correctly. Even when the Mfr doesn't stand behind their products, CS&G does. Can't ask for more than that in my opinion. i also got a great deal on a pair of Scarpa Mobe AT boots at CS&G the next season. I'm sold. I am a loyal customer. About the only gripe I have with CS&G anymore is that stupid sticker they put on the top of the shovel of your skis if you get them tuned there. It's a bitch to get that sticker off completely and they're the only shop I go to that has this problem. That alone keeps me from getting my skis tuned there unless I have a 50% off coupon. I once commented on it to a different ski tech than referenced above. He had quite the attitude, it was clear he was a snowboarder who hated skiers. He made that pretty clear. That was in 2011. I haven't seen him there last season or this season so hopefully he's gone. Still, guys at CS&G do SOMETHING about that stupid sticker!! It's but ugly on the top front of my skis and I hate the sticky residue it leaves behind attracting anything dark to stick to it. read more

Had a great experience at the Ski Rex sale. Lisa in the JR. Department was very knowledgeable as it relates to the types of snowboards and even provided helpful instructions to our child. My girlfriend and I stopped by to purchase SB bindings and boots about two weeks ago, we stood around for twenty minutes in an empty store and watched employees walk right past us. I even attempted to make eye contact with a male employee using a dolly and he looked at me and kept going. I counted 8-10 customers TOPS, I understand the world doesn't revolve around me and sometimes you just have to be patient, well twenty minutes in a 30 square ft. location should hint for an employee to at least raise a hand from a distance and yell out, "you folks ok?" I ended up walking out of the store and I passed by the registers where 6 or so employees were texting on their phones laughing and having a grand ol time, this is what frustrated me the most. Silver lining - Once I exited the store I spied with my little eye a ski rental hole in the wall in the same plaza. We decided to walk over there and see what they had to offer, I was greeted by busy employees with customers, I waited around 5 min before a friendly employee assisted me with questions and gave me some advice in what I was looking for. I ended up purchasing bindings and boots and left the store satisfied that customer service still prevails in mom and pop shops. read more

So disappointed. After being a long-time customer, this season I feel I've been treated like I and my business and family simply don't matter. I've been lied to by salespeople about services. I've been paternalistically mocked by the service desk. And I've been dismissively ignored by at least one manager - Eric, I believe. It's sad, but after 5 years of loyal patronage, I'm now taking my business to Christys. Follow-up: I needed a simple binding adjustment for new skis to fit my boots - all purchased at Colo Ski & Golf. I'd been told when I bought them that I could come in ANYTIME to have them adjusted to fit each other for FREE. Well, today, they refused to honor that agreement and wanted to charge me $40 to get them done in 2 days. It was not a pleasant customer service experience (see above). I drove over to Christy Sports. They adjusted my bindings right then and there, NO CHARGE. I am confident in my decision to only support Christy Sports from now on. read more

I have given this place several chances, only to be continuously disappointed! The customer service sucks, a lot of the employees are unhelpful, and their return policy is horrible compared to other similar stores. The last straw occurred when I purchased a pair of Spyder ski pants. I wore them THREE times and they were torn over all of the seams in the back. I went to return them last night (thinking I could get a refund since they were clearly DEFECTIVE) but NO, I was only given store credit since it was just over 30 days! Just what I want--to spend more money here! Ugh!! I am really disappointed and won't be shopping here any more. I'll spend a little extra to go to REI--their service is better and their return policy is wonderful. read more

This place keeps taking my money! Someone stop them! Prices are decent and the staff is usually very good help. Most of them that I have dealt with know what they are doing. If you are looking for advice on what to start with or what to advance to for any of the sports they cater to, it's really worth the trip! Ski Rex junior exchange is a yearly test of parental nerves. However, in the middle of the mosh pit the staff were wonderful. They patiently dealt with fitting boots to kids. The savings are huge since kids rarely get even a second season out of most stuff. This year the staff were exceptionally helpful. We've also started buying some new items as the kids have been more reliably growing into older kids' skis. If the wait is long, there's Sam's #3 across the parking lot and they'll text you updates. We were boot shopping for my wife and found some she really liked at another store but they only had a size 9 and she needed a size 8. So we called around and found the boots in her size here, the guy on the phone was real nice and put them on hold for us, he was " glad they could help". It was almost closing time so my wife rushed down there because she needs them for some cold weather stuff we were doing the next day. In the mean time I checked some reviews for this place to see if they price match, I found some comments that were from store personal saying not only did they price match but they would try and beat it, great, because gander mountain had a real good sale on them so I sent my wife the photo of the price tag at gander so Colorado ski and golf could match. Here is where it all went wrong..... She got there and first off 4 people were just standing around and offered no help, then a guy came from the back and offered to help her. He got her the boots on hold for us and she asked about price matching, he said "oh yeah, of coarse, just tell them up front". She went to check out and the girl got the manager for price adjust and he was extremely rude, I believe she said his name was KC,she showed the photo, he argued, he looked it up on line and said the price was wrong which is strange because these boots aren't even on ganders web site, my wife called gander and let KC speak to them and they verified their sale price of 112.69 and normal price of 149.99. Colorados price was 170. He got off the phone and refused to price match because gander didn't have my wife's size. He said they had to have the exact size to price match. How does this make any sense at all?? It doesn't! The real bad part is KC was totally rude to my wife, yelled at her, took the boots away from her and was horrible all together. Well she ended up buying them at full price and came home. By the time she got home she was super upset. Well we spent the rest of the night tracking down these boots and finally found some at Nordstrom far away from our house but we didn't care at this point, we were on a mission, even if we payed full price, fine, all we want is to return these to Colorado ski and golf and be sure to let the other manager Eric know what happened, they aren't getting my money. We went to Nordstrom, got the boots and imagine this... We showed the 112 $ photo from gander and they marched it. We wouldn't have cared at this point, we just needed to make sure this place doesn't get our money!! This is all because of one very rude manager with horrible customer service skills. Too bad he wasn't more like the guy that helped on the phone. We will never go here again and I will be passing on the word. I want to make it clear that even if they didn't have a price match policy, fine, even if KC said " I'm sorry ma'am we aren't able to price match this item" , fine. The problem is that we were told multiple times that they do and the reason was bogus. And KC was far from nice about it. .......... Had to be the same size? Really??? Why drive across town then?? Uh.. If gander had that size we wouldn't have had to go somewhere else. Plus, as a manager, don't ever snatch an item out of someone's hands and say" so, what's the deal? My Ride snowboard bindings were 20 bucks cheaper here than at Sniagrab. The store has loads of great ski and boarding equipment not to mention golfing goods but the stuff in the tent - not so much. A bit out of the way if you live downtown but while you are down there hit up J'Shabu for lunch or dinner. The warm Japanese comfort food will get you in the skiing/boarding spirit. read more

I had to run down here to pick up skis and boots for the monkeys I watch one day and wound up having 3 out of 4 of them in the car. As is typical when driving more than a few blocks one, two and three monkey's passed out for a nice nap. How was I supposed to manage running inside with two babies and a toddle to carry back ski's and boots (not to mention they were SLEEPING!) I called Ski and Golf on my way down and asked if they could help me out and run my items out to me. Everyone I spoke with was so helpful and kind. I pulled right up to the door, hopped out and someone met me at the door. I handed over my claim ticket and then hopped back in the car and parked in a legit spot and then waited for my skis and boots to be delivered. The guys who brought my items out rocked, loaded them into the car and told me to have a nice afternoon. If that's no customer service than I don't know what is! Since I've never actually made a purchase here I can't say that it's as good as it gets but as far as customer service goes it was outstanding. Thanks for making MY job that much easier, I truly appreciate it! When I decide to take up boarding or skiing I will be back for gear! read more
