I went in last night to try on ski boots. I had to wait a bit as they were busy with customers due to the new snowfall. Kevin McNeil helped me with boots and was awesome. I have purchased many pairs of boots over the years and dealt with a lot of guys who say they know how to fit boots. They don't. I was going to go 2 stars to make up for me being a bit nit-picky on this one but I can't do it. It kills me not to support the little guys but this place is close to home and it appears they ran the little guys out of town because there are none in my corner of Suburban hell. I walked into this place that reminds me of Walmart in its size, Neiman Marcus in clientele and prices, and I immediately want to walk out and puke. I was greeted at the door which was cool (congrats you earned 1 star CS+G!). Here's my beef - I was asked to pay for a snowboard-tune ($40) before they did it. I'm not paying anyone for anything before it's done. Would I pay someone to work on my truck before I know they did the job correctly? No. Why on Earth would I not come back for my $400 snowboard because I don't want to pay $40 to pick it up? It tells me CS+G doesn't trust their customers and that makes me not trust them. I brought this concern up to mngr Keith, after I introduced myself, I gave a short recap of my concern to him. He replied "it's company policy, we have a lot of unclaimed items in the back which means we didn't get paid for the service we performed". Fair enough but there's got to be a better way than having people pay for a service that has not yet been performed. Even just telling me he would pass this on to his superiors would have made me feel a little better. I planned on dropping at least $40 for a tune and $300+ for new boots - I spent $0 today and plan to spend $0 there in the future. I didn't like the snobby feel of this store, the prices are a joke (do people really buy $1200 jackets?), I'm not impressed by the workers, and I refuse to pay for a service before it is complete. My complaint may in fact be nit-picky but this is all it took to push me over the edge of realizing this is not a ski shop for skiers and snowboarders, it is a ski shop trying to make bank off skiers and snowboarders. Went in to get fit for ski boots after renting from somewhere edge and not being satisfied. Was helped by Zac and he made the buying experience awesome. Just got into the sport so he explained everything about boots/techniques to me and he was super patient the whole time with me. There was no pressure to buy a certain boot or anything, and he even brought out 4 different pairs of boots for me to try/walk around in. I will definitely be shopping here again and looking for Zac! And definitely recommending home/the store to my friends who are also getting into winter sports. read more

Let me tell you a little story about my first (and most likely my last) experience with the Aurora store. I went into the store on Sept. 5, 2015 to purchase a Northface Parka and Ski Pants. After looking around, I couldn't find them, and nobody was bothering to help me, so I tracked down a tall young man and asked if they had the model/color I was looking for. He acted somewhat exasperated that I dared even ask, and promptly told me he didn't have any. I asked if he would check other stores and again, he acted like I'd just asked him to chop both his arms off at the elbows. Finally he went over to the computer and I had to show him where the model/color I wanted was. I was told I needed to put in a special order, so I did. Jessica in the Special Order department was very courteous and promptly emailed me stating that the units wouldn't be available until late December, and offered a 10% discount. Fine, so I went ahead with the order. A month or so later, she emailed me again saying the ski pants wouldn't be available until late January, so I cancelled the pants order and continued on with the parka order. I then ordered the pants myself directly through North Face and they were shipped to my door within 5 days. I wondered then why it would take so long for a chain like Colorado Ski and Golf to get the units but continued to wait, thanks to the 10% discount. In early December, Jessica informed me that the parka had been shipped...great! When it arrived, it was too small and the wrong color. So I went back to the store to exchange it for the larger size and correct color. A manager named KC came up and started sniffing the jacket and rudely refused to exchange it, claiming it "reeked of cigarette smoke". WTF?? I tried to have a respectful conversation with the man, but his attitude, demeanor and flat refusal made me feel like I was some kind of criminal trying to pull a fast one. I left the store, parka in hand, quite upset. A few days later, I returned to again try to exchange the parka. This time, no problem. Again I couldn't find the replacement, and as luck would have it, I got the same tall man who gave me the exact same crappy attitude as the last time. Again I was told I needed to put in a special order. Daniel in the Special Order department phoned me in a couple of days to tell me he found the parka in a California store and would have it express shipped to the Aurora store. Then I heard nothing for a week so called him back and he told me it had arrived and been signed for the night before and that I could go into the store to pick it up at my convenience. So I went to the store, walked up to the counter and stood directly in front of the only clerk there, who was on the phone. She did NOT acknowledge that I was standing there and continued with her phone conversation for approximately 5 minutes, with me just staring at her. Once her call was done, she called another clerk over to go to the back to get my parka. Again, I stood there like the invisible man, with not one employee even saying hello to me. The clerk returned in about 10 minutes empty-handed and told me the parka hadn't been checked into inventory yet. I told him that Daniel in Special Orders told me someone had signed for it the night before, so it should be back there. The clerk said that he saw someone had signed for it but he couldn't locate it. I told him it was a store-to-store transfer and he said Oh, let me check that and disappeared through a different door. He returned about 5 minutes later stating that this was all Fed Ex's fault and that they delivered it to the wrong store. I reminded him that he had just confirmed seeing that someone at this store signed for it, so where was it? He said he'd have to track it down, and I left the store, feeling like I'd just been totally lied to. Daniel emailed me the next day spouting the same story and placing the blame on Fed Ex. He said it should be corrected that same day and re-delivered back to the Aurora store. I asked him if someone will call me once it's there and he assured me that yes, I'd get a call that day. No call,no call the next day or the next. A week went by and I'd heard nothing. I called Daniel and he said he was still trying to sort it out with Fed Ex, but that he had found another unit at another store and would have it express shipped out to the Aurora store. Express shipped my eye...one more week and I had heard nothing. I emailed Daniel with a "what gives?" kind of email, and voila! My parka, originally ordered on Sept. 5, is now finally in my hands on January 19. The staff at this store seems like they couldn't care less that I was there to spend my money and after being treated so badly by KC (the Manager for crying out loud) as well as the clerks in the store, I have no intention of going back. I went in thinking I needed new snowboard boots, but then I talked with Tim. He re heat fit my current boots and showed me a few features I didn't know existed. I have been getting my child's ski gear here for the past 4 years they are great to work with and have a very cost effective plan to get good gear for a reasonable / cheap price. Kids need new gear every year and this place makes it simple and cost effective. I acted early this year and got my child's gear in the summer. Unfortunately he had a growth spurt and when it came time to start the season he had out grown his equipment. Derek in the ski department took great care of us and graciously swapped the unused gear for brand new stuff. The experience was a rare example of true customer service in this day and age. This review only applies to the rental department. I am a beginner snowboarder and went in to rent gear very first time out. The guy couldn't have been nicer, but didn't really spend a lot of time talking to me or fitting me. He asked my shoe size, how tall I was, gave me some boots, and asked if they were comfortable. Asked if I knew if I was goofy, or not which, I did not know, and set my bindings. Then I went up to the mountain with my boyfriend, a highly experienced and formally sponsored snowboarder. Immediately, it became apparent that I had been rented entirely inappropriate gear. My boots were a full size too large, bindings have been set far too wide and in a complete duck footed stance. Board was a good eight inches smaller than anyone my height and weight should ride. Had to adjust the bindings, and I was still able to ride after renting new boots ,but then it got even better when I went in to return my gear. After we explained all of the various problems that were wrong with my rental, the two guys at the counter got extremely condescending and rude to me, even personally attacking me. They took no responsibility or even acknowledged any wrongdoing in the rental process. These guys are rude and lazy and I would never rent from them again. If you are a beginner, do not trust them. read more

Colo Ski and Golf...knocked my wool socks off with their AMAZING customer service!! I had a hard time finding a certain size ski jacket for a Christmas gift, I went all over Denver to all the "sport" stores with no luck until, I stepped into Col Ski & Golf in Aurora and worked with Angel!! They did not have the size I needed but she assured me they could order if it did not fit. Sure enough it was a bit snug, so I went back and was helped my Kevin who had to ordered it from another store in CA (the manufacturer was on back order) and asked them to Fedex it to his store (not something they normally do). Well 1 day later I get the call that the coat was in, I go to pick it up and come to find out, Angel had put the order in the day I bought the 1st coat so that it would be shipped out and at the store for us after xmas!!! She anticipated the longer shipping time and just went above and beyond!!! I only knew Angel had placed the order because the tag said "hold for Angel" and I received a 2nd call a few days later saying the coat from CA was in! Thank you!!! read more

I came in to select new goggles for the coming ski season. I asked the salesperson in the goggle area about the various lens tints; mirrored, mirrored red, mirrored blue, rose gold, etc. He told me it was so the skier could match their lenses to their ski clothes. I'm not sure if he thought I was just stupid and would accept that explanation or if he truly didn't know the conditions for which the various tints are used. He did seem to take some offense that I didn't accept that explanation. Needless to say I did not make a purchase today and will also not be purchasing my new ski equipment from this company. read more

DO NOT SHOP. Customer service at this place is NON-existent! Sold me a defective board, mounted my new bindings to the board and closed a clasp backwards, causing the binding to open and almost cause serious injury, then treated ME like a jerk for not knowing that is why the binding came open when THEY mounted it. Went to get new board tonight and this store closes two hours EARLIER than normal on Saturday. Ran into two employees and let them know I had my replacement board on hold and just needed to pick it up, they told me no way as they did not want to stay the extra time. GO TO CHRISTY'S. read more

Had a super weird experience at this epic store tonight. I came in for a merino base later, It often takes longer to get help at this epic store than any of the others I expected to linger for a bit. After much lingering I decided to ask one of the cashiers where I could find a Marino base layer, I also asked her to price check some base layers I found on the sale rack. She didn't greet me, she didn't say anything to me, she just took the pants and said $90. I said so they must not be on sale then huh She replied no and didn't say anything else. I told her I found them on the sale rack so she should probably take them and she gave me a blank stare and didn't say a word. When I asked her where the base layers were she pointed in a direction and said there's some over there under that wreath. This was one of the strangest interactions I've had in a store in a while. I don't know, maybe I'm not the typical type you see in a ski store? Maybe this young lady wasn't used to interacting with someone who looked like me, I don't know but it made me feel weird like I shouldn't have been there or something. Never had an experience like this at any other one. I will also say Ive had nothing but good experiences with everyone else I have ever interacted with at this store besides this cashier in particular. I went back to another associate at the cash register afterwards and said, let me ask you, can you show me where Merino base layers are? He ended up directing me to another gentleman who did show me where they were. The experience was normal from there on. Afterwards the same girl who could barely acknowledge me as a customer continued to have a conversation about her dog with another cashier, prob will go to the epic store in centennial from here on after tonight. read more

Great experience! My 5 year old son, Jack, and I came in on a Saturday and were helped immediatly. Clayton helped my son get into the junior trade in program and was beyond great. He asked Jack a lot of questions and got him really excited about going skiing! I was then helped by Bradley who got me into a pair of skis and bindings while conversing with Jack so he didn't lose interest. We then got checked out right away by Emily who was fast and friendly. I went there to look at and possibly purchase a new push golf cart. I found my way to the bag and cart area where nobody was there to help. I wandered around and didn't see anything that impressed me so I browsed around for a while and picked out a $12 golf glove. Almost empty store and still no help. The worst equipment buying experience I have ever had. I have been skiing my entire life, and I have never felt so miss treated, by boot fitters. I walked in, and went strait to the back of the store, so I could look for the boot I had in mind. I found the boot took it down so I could bring it to a boot fitter so they could get me fitted to my size, I waited around for about 20 minutes, until someone finally came out of the back, I then tried to get their attention, but they ignored me obviously acting like they did not see me to go help a group of about 5 friends, that where looking at boots as well. I then had to go off and find another salesman so they could go get me another boot fitter that was hiding out in the back. When he came out I showed him the boot and asked him what size and if he thought it was a good fit for me. Instead of measuring me, and making sure that I fit he just went in the back brought out a couple of sizes, and said to try them on. He then went into the back. After I tried on the boots I picked out what I thought fit me correctly, I waited there for what felt like forever, until the other guys who where getting boots also realized i was waiting, and said something to the guy that was helping them, he went into the back, and out came the salesman that was supposed to be helping me. He then asked if I needed help with anything els, I said no, and then he questioned why i was still there, he then put out his arm asking if I needed help walking to the front, as if I was a child, I said no grabbed the box and started to walk towards the front, he then caught up to me, but not to apologize, not to see if I had any questions, he wanted to put his name on the receipt so he could get commission for the sale. Then when I went to go buy the boots the where priced $150 higher than they should have I told the cashier that, and she took it back to the salesman who made the price correct, but then proceeded to tell me that the guy who priced everything had been fired, for overpricing things, witch means that if I had not done my research I would have over paid for the boots. It is now a couple of months later, and I am having insane amounts of foot pain, ankle pain, and the worst shin bang of my life, witch means that they are the wrong size for me. I am now in a position where I need to buy new boots that I cannot afford. I am extremely disappointed and a little offended with the service I had at colorado ski and golf. read more

Hurrah for Brandon Paris! Once he heard the problem I was having (ski boots I got in Sept. were too large to the point my whole foot was sliding forward) he proceeded to start from step one by assessing my stance and feet etc, before bringing out a couple of pair of boots that fit amazingly. Let me add that I have been skiing less than half a dozen times in the past 30 yr and have no aspirations to be an expert skier, but would like to recover a good chunk of the skill I once had. However, it became apparent to me that the boots I got in Sept. were a hindrance rather than a help in that process, and I was despairing. Brandon took time to give me boot care tips, show me how to more easily get INTO the boots, explained changes in technology over the past 30 yr, and created an educational process for me as well as getting me into a pair of boots where my heel stays put, while still being comfortable and toasty. I am headed off for skiing again tomorrow and am absolutely confident that I will see an improvement, simply because I'm in a boot that is an appropriate fit. (It was not fun to be trying to slide my heels back while skiing so I could turn smoothly, and landing on my rump as often as not!) I spotted a ski jacket that may have my name on it as well, but needed to get going at that time......hope it is still there mid next week! read more

I've had some success renting skis/boots here (they were unable to locate reservation twice although I had printed confirmation from their website for the Aurora location). Rental equipment is in descent condition and somewhat affordable if you need it just for the day. It's nice to not be charged if you pick up after 3pm the day before, convenient to have your skis and boots so you can leave early the next morning. Equipment pick up can be slow if they are busy so make sure you give yourself enough time to wait. Equipment drop off is easy enough. When I was ready to purchase equipment, I found that after doing price comparisons identical equipment can be purchased for quite a bit less if you're willing to shop around. If you have an unlimited budget, then this may be the place for you if you can get a Sales person's attention! read more

Doing the junior ski program, that is great. But this review is about my experience. I waited 30 minutes for someone to help me with ski boots. I made myself very visible and had a very simple sale. I know what I wanted and just needed a few minutes of a sales persons time. No one helped me. Even after asking for help and sitting I a spot I couldn't be missed. They must not need to make 400 bucks for a simple sale. Would much rather spend an hour with a guy who will probably never buy or use the boots he buys. Very disappointed. read more

My husband and I both came to Colorado Ski and Golf to buy new boots and were so lucky to have met Zac. We both purchased boots and needed custom foot beds. I came in a week later on a night Zac was working so he could make them. He was very patient, never made me feel rushed and made sure that the foot beds were perfect for my difficult feet. I bought some snowboarding boots at the Ski Rex sale that were a little small, but I had hoped they would expand with some use. They didn't. I went back three or four times and worked with TJ in the snowboarding department, who was great. He gave me some suggestions and tried molding them before finally taking them back and fitting me with a new pair. Service was great and I felt like they were more focused on finding the right fit than just making a sale. read more
