I went back and gave this place a second chance and it looks like the owner is listening to reviews. She had all new people on the rink floor that actually had control of the skaters. Been here twice so far, first time was amazing, had a great variety of music, great environment, good for learning how to skate and for those who are better (this was a day session), second time was terrible only for the fact there was absolutely no variety to the music, the DJ played rap type music? The entire time we requested another song and he put it on then changed it immediately saying apologizing for it being not the exact same thing as the rest of the music. (Night session for this one) I generally don't complain about places but at least throw a couple of songs in for those of us who don't love the one type of music... The skaters also seemed to be more rude towards those not as good on skates during this session. If they kept a variety, something for everyone in all the sessions this place would easily get 5 stars. If we come back it will only be during the day sessions. read more

Not a big Yelper but thought I should make sure this place gets its credit. Came Saturday of Easter weekend during the day and brought my daughters 8 and 13 years old. Music was great for my 8 year old (and also heard some older music which I liked) but my older daughter didn't like the younger music, but my 8 year old had a blast. Brought my older daughter back the following Friday night (I was not allowed in cause dad is not cool anymore) with two of her friends. I dropped them off and noticed there was security at the front door which I thought was over-doing it for Murrieta, but it's better to make sure kids are safe. I came at 11:30pm to pick them up to see if they wanted to go and to my surprise they were still skating and loving it. My daughter came up and said she won a prize doing a dance of some sort, I just laughed and watched her enjoy herself. The music was definitely her age group. The DJ had lights going and music videos playing of which I was shocked because it looks a lot better at night then during the day. The DJ kept everyone entertained and had a lot of people still there at 11:30. I will definitely be bringing my daughter back on Friday nights. Staff was very friendly and polite to kids and adults. If you have teenage kids, Friday night is definitely the time for them. There are other reviews about music and employees. The music might not be for you, but the kids nowadays listen to all types of music, I'm an a parent which understands this and let's my kids listen to whatever they want as long it's the clean version. read more

My family is very impressed with the professional atmosphere of Epic. Vicky has been giving my grandson skating lessons since June and he has blossomed. She is supportive of new skaters and is often seen helping them around the rink to "get their legs". She encourages the skaters and NEVER is harsh or demanding. She is wonderful with the children and young adults. So happy we found Epic. read more

My grandsons Blake and Dylan love going here to skate and they really look out for the kids here and the pizza is great! I see some really negative comments made here which were to extreme so I don't know if a bad day or if just being negative nancy? but the boys go practically every weekend and we have had a birthday party as well which went really great and it may seem a little pricy however they really cater to the kids and each guest received a gift card and a return pass! read more

I disagree with many of the reviews here! My family and I went last weekend for the first time and had a fabulous time! ALL the staff were quite friendly and assisted us in everything that we needed. It was my grandaughters first time skating and she was definately a wall clinger...at first! I agree with the comment from management, that there are alot of first time skaters there and perhaps the "pros" need to be a lttle patient and let this rink work out any quirks that you think they may have. We enjoyed the variety of activities as my youngest grandaughter just turned one. The older kids enjoyed being able to bounce around also. The food and drinks were awesome! I think the owners did a great job and my family is definately looking forward to many more trips to Epic! read more

We went on a Wednesday when it was mom and me skating. It wasn't very crowded, which made it nice for trying to teach two little ones to skate. Also, I was able to walk around with them in regular shoes which was great since trying to balance on skates while trying to help them balance on skates would have been tough. The staff was super attentive and helpful, and everything was very clean. The play area is great, and they both spent quite a bit of time in there as well. Overall, a great experience! read more

Amazing, best roller rink in 30 years of skating. I was looking to get back to skating, but the nearest place was a pure dive 30 years old (by looks), not well kept up. This place is great - nice rink, nice people, smooth floors outside the rink too, nice rentals, actual good food and comfortable spots for non skaters to sit. Love it! My balance is a little shaky, it's been a good 10 years since I skated regularly, looking forward to coming back. Oh, and the beer and wine to keep my non skating husband happy is a great addition. I was very impressed with this place. It's clean, relatively new and modern looking unlike just about any other rink I've seen in years. The employees while young acted very professional like they've actually been coached how to represent a high quality business. My 6 year old niece had a very hard fall on her bottom. One of the skate guards (a young teenage man I think) saw it happen and immediately came over. He was so sweet and kind to her. Offered to get her a drink of ice water. He brought back the water to drink and an ice pack for her back side. Normally I'd give 4 stars for a couple less than stellar points but the positives were so many and impressive they deserve a full 5 stars. The kids meal macaroni took unusually long to prepare and it was sort of warm with some cold spots. We didn't come for the food so no big deal. The kids meal was $5 which was very reasonable for what we got. The music was bit too loud but we came prepared with ear plugs. Compared to other rinks the music wasn't ear splitting loud at least. I might be gushing too much because we had went to a different rink in Colton a couple weeks ago and it was awful in all sorts of ways! I figured skating was dying but Epic has renewed my interest for family outings. This is a 45 minute drive for us and so worth it for the options closer to us! We will definitely be back. I should mention the rental skates were decent and they even have roller blade options. I opted for the blades and was impressed by the quality support of the boots. I was expecting sore ankles from previous experience but no problems due to the ski boot style latch and support. read more

Awesome, clean, friendly and tons of family fun. I'm shocked at the people writing negative reviews but then again we live in a society of "give me, give me, give me". People complaining about the cost: Are you kidding me? You can take your family to a beautiful, air conditioned, clean environment where the food quality rates higher than most fast food joints and you complain that the establishment has the audacity to charge an entrance fee. Really? And what is this constant complaining about how it's a beginners roller rink and not for "real" or "professional" skaters. Again,....really? I'm sorry Murrieta doesn't have the exact training facility you needed for your missed Olympic opportunity's but this is a family fun center intended for families to have a good time. Not to train or skate at 80 mph, plowing over kids or what you consider amateurs that should sit on the side line. I grew up going to roller rinks and even back then they were shady, dirty, germ infested places our parents dumped us off and forgot about us for a few hours. Epic is extremely clean and designed for families including food, drink and desert. And if you don't feel like skating you get to sit back on leather couches watching one of the many screens they have streaming videos or entertainment. Let me remind of a place called Trevi Lanes in Lake Elsinore that's currently on a slow death of existence. When it opened it was gorgeous and had all the entertainment a family could want or need. However, they didn't charge a small entrance fee so it became a "hangout" for every low life in the area. It got so bad you couldn't walk thought the front door with your kids without stepping through a crowd of wannabes cursing up a storm, smoking and trashing up the place. Soon it was overrun by people who weren't spending money, but just hanging out. What a dump. It takes money to maintain a business correctly. So, I for one hope Epic continues to charge the small (very fair) prices they charge to maintain the quality, location and entertainment they provide. Stop whining and enjoy a great place for the family that was long overdue for our area. read more

I came from Las Vegas on a business trip in the area and I just gotta say that this place was AWESOME!! Compared to both of the skating rinks (Crystal Palace) in Las Vegas, this place blows them out of the water. The rinks in Vegas are about the same size, maybe a little bigger, but nevertheless the 1 thing that truly ROCKS about this place are the Adult Nights they have on schedule. Thursday night is good but Wednesday night I had such a blast with the old school music they were playing and the atmosphere was just Amazing! Just glad to experience an actual Adult Night skating session which, in my opinion, is totally worth every penny in paying the price. Unfortunately the Vegas skating rinks have No Adult Night and No type of etiquette in which kids are all over the place skating and playing tag, cutting people off making them fall and create others to tumble with them, it's horrible! 4/7/14 Dear Mrs. Owner of Epic Rollertainment, Just like your husband (I am guessing the male owner is your husband), you are missing the point I am trying to make. I will say it again....your male owner and Alex the manager are RUDE! They made the choice to handle a certain situation in an unprofessional way. That is the point I am trying to make. Now for the Hat Rule, that's great that you are concerned about other's safety. It sure would have been nice and considerate if someone had said something to me from the very beginning! The staff member that was taking my money saw that I had a hat on, she knew I was skating, she was the one that put my skate braclet on me. So why didn't she say anything to me about my hat right then? Why was something said after I put my skates on and rolled onto the rink? I feel like I was robbed! Is that how you want your customers to feel? I know any great business owner would tell me no. Then for your male owner (husband?) to argue with me. How disrespectful he was! This is how you want your customers to feel when they leave your business? What a disgrace! Let me ask you another question. After my friends and daughter saw how they treat me, they wanted to leave. So, my next question to you is if I come in, will you refund my daughter's ticket and my friend's 2 tickets? They were on the rink for only 5 minutes while your staff treated me the way they did. They did not get their full money's worth. Robbed! That's what they were robbed! Answer my question, will you refund our money? 4/6/14 The male Owner, Alex the manager, and the staff here are rude! My experience here was horrible! The owner, the manager, and a staff member continued to argue with me over a hat! Yes, a hat! They have a rule where you can not wear hats. If they would have told me and my party about this rule before they took our money and wrapped an entrance bracelet around all of our wrists (during this whole time I was wearing my hat), then this would have been no problem. I would have said " no problem, I will come another day." Me and the rest of my party would have left and gone somewhere else. Instead they took all of our money and decided to tell me when I started to skate on the rink. When I asked to get my money back, the manger tells me that I would have to leave because they charge an entrance fee. I told them that my daughter and friends are here skating and now you are telling me that I have to leave. Then the owner tells me I can stay and that I am just mad because I can't wear my hat. SERIOUSLY! I told him I am mad because of the rude treatment you are giving me and that I am going to share my experience here on Yelp. The owner then tells me "now you are threatening me." I was irate! Instead of just leaving it alone, he continued to argue with me. They are very unprofessional people and their behavior is an embarrassment to the Murrieta business community. read more

After receiving your email, as well as your yelp response, I find it pretty sickening to see how the issues that I talked about were not addressed. Why respond if your not going to solve an issue! SAFTEY, the fact the you money hungry and are trying to fit too many people on the rink at one time looks greedy and shows this place won't succeed. Slit of locals who were looking forward to this are very disappointed . You stated at the rink, you capacity for the building is 625 and 2/3 of that are allowed on the rink! How is this safe. Aren't you worried about injury and lawsuits. This opens good opportunity for someone to open a larger and more organized skate rink, which will leave you in the dust. It's horrible your rink is ran this way. We've been waiting years to have something fun and active for the entire family to enjoy. But I have to tell you there is nothing enjoyable about skating .5 miles pet hour, hopping over falling people. And dodging smaller toddlers. You say your fixing policy and safety issues each day. For the sake of your success. Put a capacity limit on you rink for skaters. UTC ICE ARENA has a capacity of 150. And that place is huge. Mira Mesa roller rink has about the same. Like I said before. I would hate to see you fail. But unless you get these safety issues, and your staff inline.... Your bound to fail. And don't bother commenting back if your not going to touch base on my comments. Where do I even begin. EPIC Rollertainment is exactly what Murrieta needed. Great beach atmosphere, family fun entertainment and you get an awesome workout. I love going to the adult nights Thursdays and Sundays, they sever beer and wine. (Pretty cool) I come with my friends and family and we always have a great time. We went on a Sunday afternoon, it was a zoo,but that was to be expected. When we got to the entrance, there was a young lady (Hosting) telling people to come in in turns, she was not friendly just doing her job. Next we went to the cashier, my son was the only one that was going to skate, they said I had to pay for my teenager too, I did not agree with that. I know it's per admission but can't you guys check the wristbands or something? I don't believe in paying $8+ dollars just to enter the place if your not going to skate. The place rink was way crowded, but I did see two guys in there managing the crowd, they were doing pretty good. I decided to get some nachos, which took a while to get after I ordered them. When I got them I asked for jalapeños, the young lady said it was extra, I started laughing and paid for the jalapeños. I thought standard nachos came with jalapeños? I guess times are changing.. Lol the place was clean, rink was small, customer service was ok. Employees could be more pleasant, definitely. Overall this place is not bad. read more

I'm not sure why this place would have low ratings as it is a great place to skate! We attended on 03/28/2014 (3-5:30pm) and 04/05/2014 (6-8:30pm). It's clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly as are the patrons. It is a bit pricey but not ridiculously overpriced. The skates are comfortable and attractive. The staff on the skating floor are helpful and fun. The only suggestion that I have is to change the music. If no one gets excited when a new song comes on, its because its not a good song to play at a rink. The rink has a diverse crowd and yet the music is anything but diverse. At least play some overly commercialized music that everyone knows that has a good beat for skating. Overall, we will definitely be back again and again. read more

Background: My kids and I are avid skaters, and go to the rink 1-2 times per week. Pros: 1) Excellent facility, clearly everything is brand new and a lot of thought and effort was put into the design. Very high end rental skates. Sound and lighting systems are excellent. 2) Maple floor. I have been to every skating rink in Southern California many times over and the floor at Epic is hands down the best quality of all the rinks. 3) Family friendly - lots of cool arcade games, a play area for little children and tons of couches/seating for the parents around the rink to watch the kids skate. 4) Very friendly and attentive staff. Obviously the team has been well trained and hopefully they can keep up the great attitudes and service as they settle in. 5) Adult night - I've only been once, but the crowd was good and the music even better. I wish the ages were 25 and over, vice 18 because some of the younger adults were still a bit immature. The music was great and they played a lot of the old school jam skating style music which you would expect on a good adult session. Cons: 1) While the floor quality is superior, the layout leaves much to be desired. - There are two mock up lifeguard towers in the center of the floor that eat up a lot of real estate. One is the DJ booth, and the other has no obvious purpose aside from taking up floor space. - The rink is not a perfect oval. The back corner wall curves inwards as you come out of the turn. At first glance it's not that big of a deal, but after skating a few laps you begin to realize that it creates a serious bottleneck. It is very difficult to build up any sort of speed or momentum as everything slows down at this corner. I'm not going to pretend to be an expert at skating rink floor dimensions but this is definitely not a full sized rink. If you a not a serious skater you will probably notice; however if you are a regular skater you will definitely notice. and this is my biggest problem with the layout. 2) Staff still doesn't have a good grasp on the flow of a session. What I mean by that is nearly all rinks have defined events - Dice Game, beginner/advanced backwards-speed skate etc...etc... It seems like they don't like to stop the sessions to switch between beginner and advanced skaters but I'm sure this will get better as the staffs muscle memory starts to firm up a bit more. 3) The prices are marginally higher than most, but that's to be expected when building a quality rink from the ground up. In summary it is an outstanding place for families that don't skate often. If you skate routinely then I would suggest adult nights as your best option as the regular sessions can get a bit cramped due to floor layout. This is prime reason I gave Epic 4 stars vice 5 and is my only real criticism. Shauna the owner has poured her heart and soul into the place and it shows! read more

Let me begin with stating that I am a very frequent skater at Epic Rollertainment. However, your Dj "Mavericks" needs a few lessons in Dj-ing. He plays the same songs every session and I can almost predict the songs he will play. He does play a few good modern hits once in a blue moon, but he does not know how to adjust the music for the crowds of various ages. He also does not know when to choose a song that has an upbeat feel that is fun to skate to. I have also noticed that Dj "Mavericks" and many of the other DJs and floor guards are never doing their job. Most of the time, the Dj's are either skating and doing backflips or distracting the floor guard from doing their job while some of the floor guards are constantly being called off the floor and are not available to help skaters that have fallen or are injured. Epic is a great environment and a fun place to meet up with friends, but the Dj department lacks the necessary skills to add an atmosphere to Epic and they definitely need a reevaluation of their current DJ staff. :) read more

Let me start this with congrats on your opening. As a successful family owned businessman myself I know how important your customers are, or should be. The teens that are hired are so RUDE, my wife and I were in shock! Perhaps paying a little more hourly and get mature young adults hired to work will be much more beneficial in the long run for your business. The whole buying a "play card" and then getting kicked out unless you pay another entrance fee, without skating, is very shady and totally taking advantage that the customer MUST come back to play the "card" they purchased money on, since the (power trip) of shutting the games down is policy. That is extremely ridiculous. You should really reconsider this "policy" you have. Now for what we witnessed, a parent had just purchased $20 worth of money for games (as we did right behind her) on your "play card" when no later than a couple minutes of going to play, the games get turned off and we all get kicked out unless we want to pay AGAIN for an entrance fee to spend our money on this ridiculous concept of a card. The woman goes back to the counter and asks the teen or (very young) employee who sold us the card, "why wouldn't you tell us the games are about to shut down, unless we wanted to pay again for an entrance fee?" YOUR employee replies with attitude mind you "you never asked, (giggle) your loss, you should have got your facts first." I looked at my wife and kids with disbelief! So I got involved and said, " You are very rude and should not be working around children or anyone until you grow up and have some respect!" She just rolled her eyes at me. I am certain as a very successful business man that this is not how you expect your customers to be treated. We were really disappointed by the whole experience. read more

This place is awesome! Granted I went on a Thursday (family night) so it wasn't packed with teenagers and there was plenty of room for us to skate and play. It was my daughters first time on skates (she is 4) and was having a hard time of course but because there families we didn't feel out of place. The place was clean! Pizza was okay. The crust was a little hard but it was covered in melted cheese! They have a playground which my daughter loved since skating didn't last longer than three rounds (she tried)! They have some arcade games which was super fun too. Their prizes are way better than chuck e cheeses. I would love to come back with just my husband for kicks and giggles though. Maybe a Sunday night. We're not teenagers but we are still kids at heart so some good music and a drink while skating sounds like a great date! I will be coming back! read more

I loved this place! It is very age appropriate from toddler with a cute lil play area in the back near the arcade. I was happy I was able to let my middle school nephew skate while I entertained my toddler.... I also have a infant and when my toddler wasn't playing she skated off the rink near some very comfy couches. The services was for the most part good... While feeding my baby a man went out a side door and set of a exit alarm... He was awesome and apologized several times and gave me free tickets back! I did say for the most part because the lady at the front wasn't friendly nor helpful upon arrival... First time there didn't know all the pricing and she was rude when I would ask questions. We have been introduced to this location and were extremely pleased with the customer service at the front desk. The "Skate Patrol" was pleasant and helpful. We had a new skater on the floor and he asked if we were OK needed help, etc. He even gave a couple of pointers. When we left everyone made sure we had a good time and we are going back. I was waiting by the skate rentals - I had asked a question and was waiting for her to return. My husband and I drove from San Marcos and had a blast! They have closed both skating rinks in North County so our 40 minute drive was so worth it!!! Our kids loved the pizza and chicken strips. Staff was very nice and the DJ gladly accepted our request to change up the skating direction to help workout the other side of our legs:) My husband and I plan to make this a weekly get away workout for us next time during the adult skating times. I went there this past month with my two sons. They are ages 3 and 2. I called before hand to make sure they would be able to skate and the staff was super nice and helpful! Although they were not the best skaters out there they were not asked to leave the skate rink or the premises and that was super appreciated with everyone's patience around my little boys! They are also an affordable family thing to do and as a mom of two boys I love being able to do affordable dates with my boys! And close to home! read more

On Saturday I brought my 3 grandchildren, ages 7 (twins) and 4. None had ever skated before. We went during the Saturday session reserved for kids under 10 which was perfect. Adults were allowed on the floor in shoes to help the youngsters. They offered beginning lessons for free and there was plenty of supervision on the floor. When one grandson fell on his elbow the employee sat him out with ice and later inquired how he was feeling. One of my grandson's got so discouraged that he took off his skates and sat out. I spoke to a great employee named Noah and explained the situation. He took the time to go over, talk to my grandson and convince him to try again. He spent at least 20 minutes with him and it totally turned things around. I so appreciate the whole staff but especially Noah for providing my grandkids with such a good experience. On the way out the door the boys informed me that they wanted skates for their birthday, along with knee and elbow pads (not a bad idea!). We will certainly be back. read more
