Tucked away in the lobby of the Congress Building, a 21-story locally historical building built in 1926 #architecturegeek is a cozy wine shop and specialty bodega where I met up with friends this past Friday for their monthly First Friday wine tasting. The owner Monica features a different varietal every month, and guests bring potluck snacks to share. It's a great neighborhood spot and way to kick off the weekend. But what if you didn't bring something for potluck? Don't worry, there's also a great selection of prosciutto, parmesan and plenty of other cold cuts. You can also find crackers, coffee and hierba mate. Day drinking? Get some cafecito and empanadas as well! I'm sure that if you're sampling wine, and are an aficionado, it's very likely you're going to want to buy a bottle. Whether the featured one or something else, there's a great selection. They can also recork for the road on the off chance there are some sips left. Make sure to stop by! It's a great way to show love to a local shop and socialize with friends old and new.

Great wine shop with a friendly team that puts on fun neighborhood events! They have something for almost everyday of the week, just pop in and ask! They have never steered me wrong whether I am looking to get the biggest bang for my buck, or if I'm looking for something more elegant for a fancy event. The store even has some groceries (eggs, cheese, etc) for those days when publix is too complicated to get to. Follow their instagram: @epicureanfinewines and @epicureanfinewinesmiami

We always have a blast when we come here. The wine recommendations are great, they always have something fun going on and have even done events to support my favorite charity. On Fridays they usually do a tasting and have entertainment. Sometimes the also have dance classes and art classes. It's always something fun and unique.

Hidden gem of downtown! As if it wasn't enough to be a international gourmet food shop with a great selection of fine wines. But then to have a friendly warm and knowledgeable sommelier running things? Who then provides wine events with said fine wines in several formats: sommelier classes, wine tasting and fine wine tastings. It includes food pairings! And then! Hosts parties, serves food, including Andalucía gazpacho?! Perfection. There's also a fresh intimate ambiance with cozy places to sip your wine and learn more about what you're drinking. And what's better than having a sommelier help you choose that perfect bottle?

    Bingo!

Epic time with my Yelp Elite fam for a Wine and Bingo fundraiser! The first of many for sure! Shout out to owner Monica for taking great care of us! We took 2 bottles home that night too! All proceeds went to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Thanks Dan C. and Joany!

I had the honor of attending a leukemia event at Epicurean this past weekend and will definitely be back! Although located in downtown, there are several lots and garages in the area for parking so it wasn't t much of a mission to attend. Upon arriving, I was greeted by the lovely Monica who had wonderful knowledge of their different wines. Monica and her staff were extremely friendly and attentive, they constantly checked our glasses were full and passed around snacks. Not only do they have a great selection of wines and cheeses but their prices are very affordable. They mentioned they constantly do events so I can't wait to be back in the future.

A really nice gourmet market and wine shoppe offering a huge selection of wines and other goodies! Located in downtown, ( street parking available). The place is easy to see. Right from the moment I stepped inside I loved this place, it was cozy and I loved the wine smell and the way it was decorated inside really made it feel authentic. It was a wine tasting event so the wine never ended, the Atmosphere inside was super friendly and everyone was having a good time. Inside It honestly felt like a homey family vibe to it which was a plus. The Charcuterie board was so good, specially the truffle cheese! They offer a lot of things to pair with the wines. They also have items you can buy in the small market from potato chips to Oreos lol. Recommend this to everyone, good wine and good atmosphere! Can't wait to come back here for a round 2!

Awesome find in the middle of downtown a jewel amongst the high-rises all around. Came for an event and Monica the owner was so gracious, friendly and helpful, she went above and beyond in explaining the different kinds of wines that she sells and the pairings for cheeses. Bought a VIlla Maria Sauvignon Blanc it was crisp and perfect for what I felt like having and my friends all agreed, the Spanish goat cheese with pimento rim was delicious. We had an incredible time will definitely be back. Great space great for gatherings or just having some wine with friends.

Cute little hole in the wall wine shop in Downtown Miami. The staff is a delight and always happy to guide you thru the store making recommendations. Some Fridays they have a nice wine tasting happy hour type of event.. its a nice opportunity to sample wines, and also make new friends!

An oasis in downtown Miami with great wine, coffee, and tapas. A great place to spend some quiet time with a glass of great wine surrounded by art. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown. Service is fantastic as is the ambiance.

This establishment truly feels like family and small town vibes in the big city of Miami. I went the other night with some friends for my first time and had an amazing experience. Did a winetasting class which was so awesome and had some delicious bites. Monica the owner is super helpful and attentive. It even turned into a karaoke party at the end of the night everybody was super friendly and the vibes were there

Great services and awesome inventory. Go to the Friday night wine pairing, great place to begin your night.

    Monday blind wine tasting class

A local gem, woman owned small business. Habla español y portugese e Italiano. I love how you can be advised on affordable good wine to your taste and budget. There are also by-glass wine tastings and wine classes twice a week. Final icing on the cake is that I met a great community of neighbors coming to wine tasting gatherings. This shop truly adds to the neighborhood spirit of downtown Miami with its all-welcome, cozy and delicious attitude.

One thing I love about Magie is they are always going to uplift folks in the community - be it with space for local businesses who don't have brick and mortars to pop-up and sell food, or by creating a space for locals to hang and get work done and not be bored in their houses. I can definitely see myself at Cafe Magie on Fridays this summer. Service is always so friendly here, and the space is so cozy it's perfect to get work done, and then once the clock strikes wine-o-clock you can enjoy wine while you work, too!

I ordered a charcuterie tray for the three of us; it's not premade. You pick the ingredients and then they are charged à la carte. For the one we enjoyed with Brie, prosciutto and jam. It came up to about $40. We enjoyed a bottle of chardonnay - nicely cool and crisp - while chatting and enjoying the game. I think they just have bottles, not wine by the glass. I'd certainly recommend Magie for a casual date night, or nightcap after dinner elsewhere. The patio with string lights and all does seem cute for a quiet evening.

We came in and immediately someone came over and was eager to walk us through the process and made a handful of recommendations especially when it came to the wine. The gentleman whose name I didn't get unfortunately, was extremely kind and helpful, the service here was amazing and we ended up loving the wine he recommended us. The food was also great we ordered the Caesar Fries, the Magie Plate which came with the bread, strawberry spread and some olives and pickles for the meats, we also got the Hot Dog and everything we had was really good. The ambiance is very nice it's a cozy little hole in the wall that you would definitely miss driving by it. Outside patio area had a lot of seating and as well as couches. Everything was great and I am now hooked on a wine thanks to the recommendation by the team here!

As others have stated, Magie is good in concept and we'll likely return here, but with just a bit…read moremore effort on their part this wine bar could be so much better IMO. Unlike some other reviewers that scoffed at the prices of the wine, that didn't bother me so much. We had a bottle here that cost $55 and it retails for about $28; I was OK with that, as all restaurants and wine bars have a markup above retail, and even when you go to spots like Happy Wine or El Carajo and pick out a bottle to drink while in their shop, they charge a corkage fee for that. What I did have a problem with is that, after the "service charge" and other fees were added on, our $55 bottle rang up to more than $73 in total, which was ludicrous. When we first arrived at Magie we were met by a young guy who pointed out the bottles and where the various charcuterie items are located in the coolers, and we were then pretty much left on our own. We really just wanted a glass of wine each, but unlike places like Vinoteca, here at Magie they had a very limited selection of wines by the glass, and the ones available all seemed to come in single-serve cans. We picked out a bottle to share, went to the register, paid and the guy opened it and handed us 2 glasses. When I returned to get napkins, the guy just motioned to where the napkins were so I could grab my own (after moving a delivery cart out of the way by myself so I could reach them). Again, though this place includes an automatic "service charge", we received zero actual "service" unless one considers the 45 seconds it takes to uncork our bottle and charge us for the purchase. We had a seat, had a glass of wine each and then re-corked our bottle of wine and took it with us. Overall I think Magie is a great concept with lots of potential. The inside seating area is interestingly decorated and outfitted with lots of eclectic furniture and items on the walls, and the relatively large patio seating out front with tables for 2 to 8 people is shielded from the adjacent street/traffic and shaded by lots of trees and greenery. The ambiance overall is really very nice. The service, however, was non-existent, especially considering the automatic charge for that, and while prices of at least some wines aren't terribly out of line, the fact that all the service charges, taxes and fees added $20 to the cost of our bottle was a bit of a shocker. Magie should consider adding more wines by the glass IMO. Not just subpar quality single-serve cans, but decent wines, poured from a proper bottle with a topper that preserves the wine between pours like most every quality wine bar commonly offers. Lastly, while I don't think anyone expects linen napkins and white glove service, the paper plates and plastic cutlery customers are given to eat with are a bit off vs. what this place appears to be trying to be and the prices charged. The "F*ck Brunch" positioning statement on the back of the staffs' shirts was an interesting touch.

From the second you pull up the driveway, you are greeted by rolling rows of vines and an atmosphere that instantly makes you drop your shoulders and relax. It completely lives up to its name--the vibe is effortlessly mellow, sophisticated, and incredibly welcoming. Here is why this place has officially become my absolute favorite spot: 1. The Wine & Food Pairings are Masterful The culinary team here clearly works hand-in-hand with the winemakers, because the pairings are flawless. We started with a crisp, beautifully balanced white blend paired with an artisanal charcuterie board featuring locally sourced cheeses and a phenomenal house-made fig jam. For the main course, the slow-braised short rib literally melted off the bone, and when paired with their estate estate Syrah, it was pure magic. Every bite was an absolute home run. 2. Breathtaking Atmosphere & Ambiance The design of the restaurant strikes the perfect balance between rustic vineyard charm and modern elegance. We sat out on the covered patio, which offers sweeping, unobstructed views of the vineyard. As the sun began to set, they lit the fire pits and turned on string lights, creating an incredibly romantic, warm glow across the entire space. It's the kind of environment where you just want to linger for hours over dessert and another bottle. 3. World-Class Hospitality What truly elevates Mellow Grapes is the service. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable without an ounce of pretentiousness. They walked us through the tasting notes of each wine, shared the history of the vineyard, and gave us brilliant recommendations based on our personal palates. The pace of the meal was perfect--we never felt rushed, yet we were perfectly looked after the entire evening. The Verdict Mellow Grapes is an absolute gem. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, planning a perfect date night, or just want to treat yourself to an exquisite meal and fantastic wine, this place delivers on every front. The passion behind the food, the wine, and the hospitality is evident in every single detail. I'm already counting down the days until my next visit.
