I had high hopes for this place. So first the positives: the concept is cool and the food is not terrible. Now the needs improvement: the staff is young which doesn't make it a bad thing, but you can tell the experience right from the get-go. The staff needs more personality. There was a lot of rigid personalities. The problem with the food is that kitchen does not season. You need to back up the food with salt and pepper. I don't know if that's by design or if that was a decision made by the owner or head chef, but the food was bland. This might work for people that do not have pallets. But my wife and I have been in many restaurants and we can tell. Plus, we know the food is frozen. You can't make it if you have frozen food. I would work on those things and I'm sure those stars will go up a notch or two. read more

So this location is a spot to visit if you are a car lover or a lover of vintage styles. The food came out plated perfectly and everything has a cute theme to it even how the silverware is served in little buckets. The waitstaff was kind. Food was flavorful but the only "meh" was it wasn't piping hot - not the coffee or pasta. And the waffle was saturated with syrup so it made it a smidge mushy. This would not stop me from going back and giving it another try it looks like they have a great turn out for happy hour too! read more

They covered the fish in panko, somewhat of an odd choice, the tenders lacked any sort of flavor (and I mean salt), burger board is nothing more than what it sounds like, so not good, and a sad Belgian waffle with some sort of butter syrup, not appetizing. Kristina is the worst. Absolute, worst!!!!! she accommodated everything we asked for and more. I couldn't find a reason to not tip her. I tried to hard, and ended up leaving her a 40% tip because she did so well. We asked for a meat board that allowed us to sample all the different things along with the charcuterie board. She not only said yes, but she had the chef create boards that had never been served before. Was extremely impressed and out extra money due to her hard work and amazing service. Arrived on a rainy Saturday night. Appreciated the efforts of the hostess to squeeze us in since we had no reservations. High top table was comfortable enough. Loved the garage inspired decor. Waiter greeted us with the standard question "first time here?". Yes it was and I steeled myself for a poorly rehearsed script common to chains. But was surprised by his response. "Why? We've been here 3 years. Why indeed. Not a far drive for us. The salmon bowl was loaded with greens. Cole slaw, black bean and mango salsas and oranges topped with a perfectly cooked generous salmon filet. So good. So filling. Partner loved the chicken pot pie special. I have been here a few times along with their food truck. The food and drinks are always amazing. This time I had the garage nachos are the burger and egg board. The nachos were loaded up and tasty. The burger and egg board was very tasty and a great visual presentation along with flavorful as well. I washed it all down with the caramel dipped apple which was a delicious fall cocktail the have currently. Overall it was another great experience here besides our waiter. Came here for brunch with some family a few weeks back. The most annoying thing about the meal was the fact that the dishes served were different then what's on the menu. They ran out of breakfast potatoes and substituted tater tots.... No discussion about this, just a statement that they ran out and substituted. Would have been nice to know in case the potatoes were a deal breaker on ordering that item. They also have a berry waffle, which was supposed to have ice cream on it and just literally had no ice cream, but did have whipped cream. I get that you run out of things, but they should be brought up with the customer in case they want to change their order. I had a southwest omelette, which was very mediocre. Tater tots were drowned in grease. I wouldn't eat here again. One positive: I did like the self serve soda fountain. read more

Very friendly and offered up a complimentary beer or wine (BYO too for now) so Coors Lite or Yuengling Lager on the house for beers. I enjoyed the Salmon BLT myself. My wife had a crock of French Onion soup (quite salty, but that is typically the case) and Brussel Sprouts, which were steamed and sliced in half, so more al dente with buttter and some bacon. A bit boring to say the least. My daughter had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was tasty. Waffle was a bit soft in the middle...not uncooked, but just mushy. My family and I had another awesome meal at EG last Thursday night. I called at 4pm hoping to grab and outside tent for dinner and they had space available at 5pm. We were in our own private greenhouse which was just adorable. It would have been nice if the house was preheated but it didn't take too long before it got warm. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the cup of Mac and cheese for my 3y/o and Garage Fries with cheese, bacon and scallions for an app. The Mac and cheese serving was huge, way more than a literal measuring cup and the fries were really good. It's nice that you add the cheese on yourself so the fries don't get all soggy. I had the Slow-Braised Angus Short-Rib with Cheddar Grits, the husband had Crispy Chicken and Waffle and we all split a piece of the chocolate cake for dessert. When I first saw my short rib n grits I was afraid that I wasn't going to like it cause there was a lot of gravy all over it and I'm not a fan at all of stew type things but it was so amazing I couldn't stop eating it. Our second time here. The first time we were outside on a summer day. This time we dined inside and what an experience. The food is delicious. We enjoyed the shrimp and grits (spicy), jambalaya, and brisket and grits. Almost forgot that the fries and teriyaki, honey sesame wings were phenomenal. My daughter got the grilled cheese. It was made on thick bread and lots of cheese. You'll want to chop it up for the littles. Our server was friendly and attentive. The manager stopped by several times to confirm we were ok. Well we realized 20 minutes later he didn't even put our order in the system and continued to take drink orders and other tables orders and put them all in the system at once! I did a curbside pickup of an order here a few weeks ago. I haven't been inside and anytime who wants to dine out can. There are lots of tables in a variety of shelters just out side the door or in the grassy median next to the cart way. My dining partner was craving fish and chips and chicken and waffles so we go both and shared. The fish was just meh even though it was a large portion. It was crispy but flavorless. Fries were ok. The chicken and waffles was recommended by the order taker. I think the packed the waffle too quickly in its plastic container as it was tasty but soggy. The chick was nice and crispy. But unlike everything else which was packed with care, this was not. So the spicy sauce for the chicken spilled over into the chicken as did the maple butter for the waffle. Not a complete crisis but in combination with the limp waffle, it was disappointing. We also tried a side of the Mac and cheese ( good but not super memorable) and the fries with cheese, bacon and scallions (same sauce as with the Mac and cheese, good real bacon, fresh scallion). After I placed the order I was told there would be a 45 minute wait even though it was 3 pm. I was surprised by that. I would rate these folks at 3.5 stars and try them in house one more time to see if these missteps were just a reflection of COVID restrictions or an off day. read more

My new fav local place. Met up with a group of friends Friday night. Skipped the table and we sat at the bar. The service is SPOT ON. Our bartender Amanda was awesome. We also met Amy the manager and Lee, the owner. These people care about the diners and the attention shows. Even though our Lieutenant governor was also dining there with his family, our group received a lot of attention. It's part of their signature. Free beer and wine until they get their liquor license . But it always comes down to the food, doesn't it. And it didn't disappoint. The food is first rate. Tried the mushroom risotto with blackened salmon. DAYMN!!! And a few appetizers. This is NOT your average eat. This is a foodie restauranteur doing what he does best. So!!! Nachos. I've been to the Garage a handful of times. During the pandemic we did takeout brunch that was excellent. Post-pandemic they continued to impress with good hot brunch fare. I have also gone for dinner and had less impressive food. It's basically bar food, which is ok but not always what I'm looking for in a dinner. My last trip there with friends was sort of depressing. The staff was helpful, but not very proactive... they didn't offer up anything I couldn't figure out myself or hint that maybe another round of snacks or drinks might be a good idea. The mixed drinks were weak and uninspired. The beer was semi flat. The nachos were ok. This was the worst take-out food I have ever ordered. The portions were small. My daughter ordered a large ceasar salad with chicken. She was not even half filled with ceasar salad and a piece of whole chicken breast on the side. She added inlettuce to the salad. The hand-held sandwiches, (chicken) were served on soft, soggy potato rolls. not the rolls described on the menu. What was supposed to come on the sandwiches was instead put in tiny platic containers. So disappointing. read more
