It is becoming harder and harder to stand out as a burger restaurant in Jacksonville because now there are several places that have great burgers. The burgers at Epik are similar to what you would find at Mshack or BurgerFI close by. Epik serves fresh, cooked to order ground beef patties. They are locally owned so that is also a plus. They have quite a large selection of burgers, sides and milkshakes on the menu. The restaurant itself is clean, casual and charming. I had the Breakfast Burger which has fried egg, bacon and onions. It was pretty tasty and the egg was cooked perfectly and provided an extra layer of flavor to the burger. I'm all in on the egg on burger bandwagon. My only complaint was I wished there was a little more spice/seasoning on the patty itself. The Buffalo bacon cheese fries were pretty solid as well. French fries topped with Cheese sauce, buffalo sauce and Bacon can't be wrong. I can't say this burger joint is EPIC but it definitely is an option in the ever expanding "fancy" burger restaurantsphere. read more

This place is pretty creative. The hubs prefers burgers in his top 5 rotation for food out, and he truly enjoyed this spot. I will keep this one a bit short, but highly suggest their bbq chicken burger (patty on a wheat bun as it is) with sweet fries and the fruity pebbles special shake. Perks: offers of lighter fare like chicken burger patty with wheat bun. The fruity pebbles shake, probably a special , was yummy. Friendly staff and relatively quick service. BOOS: the place is very small, communal seating and it's out of my normal area I like to eat in ( out on Atlantic). Seriously delicious food! I ordered a classic hamburger, medium well, with all the fixins...including bacon of course. We waited for about 10-15 mins, which I certainly did not mind at all. I've always seen this place and finally had the push to try it ! Glad I did because they surprisingly enough have a great deal of vegan selections. (Especially for a burger spot). The vegan philly burger is delicious! The customer service is awesome as well and the bathrooms are very clean . There's a huge parking lot so that's never been an issue either. So recently my friend at work and I were having a convo about the best burger in Jax..and while some people had told me I would have to go to Wackos to find it..i just cant..it was decided that we would have to go to Epik Burger, and my coworker practically drooled while he told me about the menu! There are a lot of options here..and they all looked good! We arrived on Monday night at seven, and it wasn't too busy at first but then had a bit of a rush while we were there..after looking more at the menu we were ready to order..i went with the Epikurean Burger which has a ton of awesome ingredients ( Maytag Bleu Cheese-Truffle Mousse, Pancetta, Mushrooms, Blackberry Jam, Balsamic Mayo, Green Onions, Parmesan Cheese) I also had truffle parmesan cheese fries and a Jon boat to drink. My friend built his own burger and went with a fried egg, which you can have cooked anyway you like, he had guacamole, hot peppers and bacon as well, and a honey and butter milkshake..his wife got the fruit and cheese burger with onion rings..we also had some of the signature fry sauce. The first thing I can tell you is that the burgers are huge, the bun was perfect, the burger itself was cooked to my request of medium rare perfection, and the taste was amazing..i don't think that I got much of all the ingredients, but it was so so good. The truffle parm fries had a good crunch and flavor but I think I would want to cheese melted more on them. the fry sauce, which says it is latin inspired, has a PUNCH of spice when you first put it in your mouth..it mellows out, but I think it was a bit too much for me..the fruit and cheese burger was immensely enjoyed and apparently it was really the sweetness of the honey that brought it together. The egg/bacon/guac/hot pepper burger was devoured happily, and the onions rings were loved dearly..the milkshake im told was also really good, and there was actual dallops of honey in it! The restaurant itself is clean and bright and I think the long table with the benches is fun cause you may end up sitting with people you don't know! Used to come here a lot. Ordered pickup tonight and got my food as usual. Brought it home to eat and got through about half of my burger before it started tasting a little chewy and off. I threw it away and didn't think much more of it until a couple hours later when I'm throwing up all over the place. I spent most of my day at the clinic with my daughter (ear infection- not related to this) so I ate my usual yogurt for breakfast then didn't eat anything else until I ate the burger. So I know the burger is what made me sick. I used to think this was the best burger spot in Jax but I will never come back. Instead of rushing through all your orders, maybe make sure your meat is cooked before people end up in the ER with food poisoning because I'm pretty sure that's where I'll be tonight. read more

This is my third trip to epic Burger, the first time when they were busy. They have five cooks in the back three people on the counter and it still took over an hour to get our food. I tried the gravy fries for the first time, never again. The gravies like water goes right to the bottom of the basket and soaks your fries, making them completely mushy. My grandson had the cheese fries they give you the cheese on the side and it was skimmed over because it had sets so long. I'd go back but never when they're busy if I could help it. read more

My boyfriend and I have been looking for another burger joint to add to our go-to list and have had our eyes on Epik Burger based on reviews. Epik Burger had some pros but to us it wasn't all it was hyped up to be. Food- The brownie shake was a 5. The small brownie bite inside was delicious. My boyfriend thought it was one of the best shakes he has ever had. The truffle parmesan fries were slightly above average but I was hoping they would have more flavor. The fries themselves were good, not too crispy or soggy. I was looking forward to "Epik" burgers but they were average. The patties were thin and the beef somewhat bland (but cooked medium as ordered) and the topping portions were not generous. We didn't have any but they do offer beer and wine. Atmosphere- There's not much going on inside but there are 3 TVs. The inside was uncomfortably cold. There are two outside tables with two chairs each. Service- We took our order to go, but the man that took our order was very polite. We received our shake a few minutes after we ordered and the food fifteen minutes after we ordered; this was when they said they were slammed so that's still pretty quick. read more

Excellent parmesan truffle fries! I've been here a handful of times and these fries always bring me back! I'm a pescatarian so I've only tried their salmon burger and their veggie burger. I like their array of toppings and sauces and cheeses. I prefer their salmon burger- their veggie burger is pretty forgettable. They are a bit pricy for their portions. The quality of Epik Burger has seemed to wane recently. The consistency that used to be standard is falling apart. My orders are often wrong. I recently ordered a 1/2 burger, and I was given a 1/3 burger. I take it to the cashier to correct and instead of fixing it, he decided to go with "No that's what 1/2 looks like." I eat here fairly often. I know what a half pound burger looks like. Sometimes I order two half pound patties. Gaslighting me is just going to lose my business. I was furious because that means I was overcharged as well...and the last thing I'm about to do on a Saturday afternoon is lose my crap with a cashier over a burger. I'll just go somewhere else. Last time I was there, service was​ slow because your team was literally making errors on EVERY order. I do think the restaurant is great when they are on their game. The wait time was okay, 20 minutes, but they were busy so I didn't complain. The burger was dry. This was probably because I ordered medium and got a well-done bison burger. Deeeeelightful!! The PB & Burger that is. Remarkably tasty with the he spicy mayo. Yaaaas! The fries were also addictive, with a perfect crisp and a generous portion of housemade ranch dip. I'd eat there again right now, actually, but my husband had a different experience. There are a ton of Specialty Burgers on the menu at Epik. We got the Epik Burger, Korean BBQ Burger, and Truffle Fries. You have the option to change the buns, meat, and add ons (with some changes for an extra price. Our burgers were medium and came out nice and juicy. Both burgers came out pretty fast. The buns pretty big so it took a second bite to get a full amount of the burger. The standard burger size is 1/3 and if you want a larger size or different meat blends then you pay extra. We wished the larger sizes were standard for the price. The Truffle Parmesan Fries had a nice amount of Parmesan but could have used more Truffle flavor. read more

Noticed on the website they were competing for the James beard foundation so I was eager to try. Definitely enjoyed this cute place. Burgers were cooked to perfection. I had the Eco Epikurean Burger cooked medium(which is up for voting)  Ground Shortrib, Brisket and Chuck Beef blended with Truffle Oil Infused Portobello Mushroom Duxelle. Topped with Blackberry Demi Glace, Cremini Mushrooms, Pancetta, Maytag Bleu Cheese Mousse, Parmesan Cheese, Balsamic Aioli and Scallions. It was delicious. Hubby had the Elvis milkshake, which has a strip of bacon.
