I recently visited this office as a new patient. I want to start by saying the girl who brought me back to the exam room was very kind, friendly, and made me feel comfortable right away. Dr. Rutherford was also wonderful. Although the exam itself felt a little rushed, I still felt she was thorough, friendly, and knowledgeable Unfortunately, I most likely will not return because of my experience with the front desk staff. I work in a doctor's office myself, so I completely understand that the front desk can get busy with phones ringing and patients checking in and out. However, when I arrived, I stood at the desk for several minutes with absolutely no acknowledgment. No eye contact, no "we'll be right with you," nothing. One of the girls even got off the phone and still did not acknowledge me while I continued standing there waiting. Eventually, someone asked my name and handed me the iPad for my paperwork. After my exam, two of the front desk staff were sitting up front cuddling with each other with their arms wrapped around one another. Again, there was no professionalism, friendliness, or acknowledgment of me. The biggest issue came during checkout. One of the girls told me I owed $150. Thankfully, I had already verified my insurance benefits beforehand and knew my copay should have been $50. When I questioned it, she clicked around on the computer for a moment, then said I was correct and that I only owed $50. There was no apology or explanation. She was definitely rude and had an attitude after I told her that her calculation was incorrect. Had I not spoken up, I would have been charged an extra $100 that I did not owe. That experience made me question the accuracy and transparency of the billing process. I had actually been interested in scheduling additional cosmetic services such as laser treatments and microneedling. However, during my appointment, Dr. Rutherford mentioned that the "pregnant woman at the front desk" performs those services, and I realized she was one of the same staff members who had ignored me when I arrived. After my experience with the front desk, I no longer felt comfortable moving forward with additional services through the office. It's unfortunate because the clinical side of the office was positive, but the front desk experience left a lasting impression and is ultimately why I won't be returning. read more

When I went in to get a routine scan they were impatient, dismissive, unfriendly and uninformative. They put liquid nitrogen on a 1 mm spot on my face. After asking, do you want us to freeze that and then I got billed about $300 for that particular service. Now 15 months after the service, they are now billing me an additional $78.74 for a pathology result which they say is the insurance company's fault. But it sounds like they didn't code the bill correctly and it got caught in auditing. The last time I went to them I ended up with a 2-in scarf for removing one pore. I would say go anywhere that you can find except this practice. read more

Well I wish I had read these reviews before I went to see them. Numerous complaints I see here are the exact experience I had: from YR. Sept 23, 2025, CE. Mar 27,2025, etc etc etc. Deceptive for sure..............I phoned their billing department in Cherry Creek prior to my appointment to make sure they took MediCare. I called again the day before to just make sure and advised them my supplement is with Kaiser and was told, no worries, we will bill MediCare directly. When I went to appointment, they asked for my MediCare card and I told them "again" that my supplement is with Kaiser. She said they do not need the Kaiser information, and that they would be billing MediCare and they do not need any $$ from me. Then I get a Bill from Texas for almost 4 times what I was quoted by doctor and his assistant. In challenging this, they credited my bill $100 and still leaving it to be over $300.00 higher than quoted. Their Office Manager now tells me its My Responsibility to get a Waiver from Kaiser and submit and see if this will handle difference. NO........I was forth right with my coverage, they were not. And judging from these numerous other bad reviews, they know this procedure and should of told me from get go, this is how it works. read more

Deceptive. I was told they took my insurance, and my office visit would be $90. Seven months later I get a bill for $500 with zero copay. Calls to the office I visited lead to their Texas hub. After several days of back and forth, the bill was lowered a bit, but still more than 3x what I was told. No contact from the actual office I visited. And from other posts here, I was billed a lot more than if I had no insurance. read more

Unsure why this place has so many bad reviews! I've been 2x to help with injury scarring and they've been great. They get me in before my appointment time, are straight to the point, kind and answer all questions I have in detail - as well as give me ENDLESS free samples to test out so I don't have to spend a ton of money myself. I see Dr. Rutherford and like her a lot. She brought in Dr. Aldana during my first appointment to see if she agreed with her - It felt nice knowing they were both assessing my scar separately & they shared their knowledge with each other. They have a revolving door of physicians Went there for 5 years before moving in June 2024; felt like I was seen by a new doc every visit, which resulted in little to no consistency in diagnoses or prescriptions, and a general lack of empathy or interest by the physicians. Most practices take less than 48hrs to respond to pharmacy refill requests. At minimum, they've taken 7 days. Most times I had to repeatedly call and leave voicemails during work hours until someone responded so I could say, "Hey! Refill the prescriptions!" Their front desk phones are kept on silent; no ringing. Last complaint but probably consistent with any practice. Can't stand the money-grab that is scheduling visits every 6 months. I understand they don't want to keep patients on medication that is no longer suited for them (for better or worse), but for something non-invasive like topical treatments we should at least be able to push back to 1x/year if pleased with results, especially when the doc says "it's a lifetime condition". read more

They're "allowing" me to pay the self pay price which is still $150. Dr. DeBord not only saw me for my follow-up to a previous visit but was happy to check on a new scar on my face that happened since he last saw me. I felt like I was going thru a drive threw once the doctor saw me. I didn't feel the doctor listened to my issues. She declined to renew a prescription, which three weeks later the problems being serviced by that particular drug came right back. Not sure if it was because I am on Medicare, but in general I thought the visit was not productive. Also, they never called back with results of a biopsy test. I needed a new dermatologist after my insurance coverage changed (again) thanks to what's his name who got the government even more involved in healthcare. Thanks to the genetics, my skin is very sun sensitive. As such, I need to see a dermatologist once a year to make sure that those pesky pre-cancerous actinic keratosis spots aren't conspiring to murder me. The new patient process was fast and easy, and the office visit was smooth with almost no wait at all, as in they actually saw me at my scheduled time. The only slightly broken process is the scheduling through their web service. I sent in my info asking to be contacted, and it took about a week for anyone to even acknowledge my inquiry. Other than that, doc Hunter seemed solid, and the staff was great. All in all, a good experience! read more

No idea what the actual medical treatment is like but my experience with their front-office was terrible. Tried to schedule an appointment. The website directed me to a form which I filled out. Shortly thereafter I received an email *assigning* me an appointment date and time... with NO opportunity to offer options or consideration of my personal schedule. The only option was to *call* them to change the appointment. Of course the arbitrarily assigned time didn't work for me so I called to change the appointment and was instantly placed on hold. I went and see dr Ashley on January 18/2021 for my appointment and it went well, nothing to complain. And i did make another follow up appointment in February 15/2021. But my scalp was still itch so i change my appointment to one week earlier. It went well and my scalp got so much better. Until I receive a letter of my statement and i did pay for my visit. But on August I received another bill and i called , they said it because I didn't show up on my appointment on February so they charge me $35 for not show up fee. I tried to explain to the staff that i did move my appointment one week early but they didn't remove me from the schedule book. And they said they will take care of it , I don't have to worry. I continued receive another two letters and I called them twice to have a look on my account, make sure I don't got send to the collector company. And total 3 time I called, the staff said they will take care of it. I end up got the letter from collector company on March 2022. I called and asked, so the staff this time said because I didn't show up on my appointment in August 2021 ( which I didn't make and got no reminders call/email about my appointment on August) and so the $35 no show up fee is my responsibility. I tried to explain but no hope. They said will call me back in 48h but it been 4 days and got no call. Overall, i just want to warn whoever about to receive treatment from this facility, they did a great job on my treatment but the billing team was horrible to handle situations. Let me preface this by saying that the front of house staff were very pleasant and professional, and the facility itself is clean and modern. I felt very comfortable waiting for my appointment in their office. They seem to be taking all of the necessary precautions to protect their patients and staff during the pandemic. That being said, I can not recommend Epiphany Dermatology. I had two very unpleasant experiences with Dr. Maloney and I really do not care for his bedside manner. The first time I went in he prescribed a medication (with no explanation of how to use it) and when I asked if it would interact with anything (I do use other facial products and have a skincare regimen in place), he responded with, "Why? Are you trying to get pregnant?" Not only was this a bit sexist and completely uncalled for, I had already told his staff that I was on birth control during the initial exam! Completely unprofessional. The second time I went in, Dr. Maloney did not remember seeing me or what he had even prescribed or why I had even come in two months prior. My skincare problem had persisted since my first visit and when I expressed my concern, his response was "I'm not concerned about that." He proceeded to prescribe me an even stronger medication that I didn't want, without fully explaining the benefits, risks, or offering up any alternatives. I left feeling extremely disappointed and like I had wasted $40 on a copay. Needless to say, I will not be back. Perhaps their other doctors are more professional and provide better service, but this was not my experience. read more

Terrible service, worse company. READ THE REVIEWS!!! They are DECEPTIVE!!! I went and saw the the Dr. at this practice to look at a dry patch of skin on my scalp. I spent more time in the parking lot, than I did with the actual doctor. He looked at my scalp, said yup it's psoriasis and left. I paid my copay of $35 (which was absurd for the 2 minute visit and THOUGHT I was done with this horror. Now fast forward almost a year, and this unorganized mess of a company is sending me a bill for $515 and it is over 120 days due! This is the first time I heard from this company since almost a year ago. Nobody called to explain any balance due. When I called the 855 number listed, the lady who answered actually said "sir, I hear this every day from customers, I'm sorry we sent you this almost a year later, we deal with customers like you every day". WOW! You would think that they would actually care enough to fix the problems, but instead this practice is a deceptive practice, just looking to bill your insurance company as much as they can, and then after that they will do everything in their power to bleed you dry. Do not forget, doctors can charge whatever they want essentially and we, the people, are on the hook for the charges. I made an online appointment to have an annual cancer screening checkup. I was a previous patient and last year the Dr removed "something " non-cancerous from the top of my head. I thought the folks &Dr there were fine but short of exemplary, although the healing time was about 4 weeks longer than the Dr thought. So, after filling out all my personal & insurance info my appointment was cleared for Wed the 29th. On Monday the 27th they send a brief notification that this appointment time slot was filled... it contained no apology, and nor did it provide any alternate date or contact info. I believe this office has no idea how their appointment system works and assuming they pressed a button to cancel my appointment, they had no concern about re-scheduling an alternate date. So, I give them a 1star rating...also the Dr I saw last year at their facility is apparently no longer there which says something about the facility. read more

After seeing many positive reviews on Google, I have Epiphany a try and was not disappointed. I was able to get an appointment with Whitney, the PA in a few days. The office staff was helpful and polite. The exam was more thorough than any dermatologist I've ever been to. They check EVERY inch of you, and as medical professionals should, they make the whole experience very comfortable. She took the time to answer any and all questions I had, and said that if there were any spots at all I was concerned about we could do a biopsy (even though she herself didn't think it necessary)- which I really appreciate as it shows they value patients' peace of mind. I ended up asking for a biopsy of a tiny bump on my nose, and the procedure was performed skillfully. read more

Just be sure to ask what an estimated cost is before your appointment, if you have insurance like mine where you pay a % until you meet your deductible. I scheduled an appointment here due to acne issues. I was charged $515 for my consulation where the doctor just asked "so what is going on" and BARELY glanced at my face, due to wearing a mask. I was shocked when I called for a breakdown of my bill and they said this was just the cost of my consultation. I had absolutly no tests or treatment done- this actually cost me more than a recent ultrasound I had. Also, to mention extremely higher than another review that stated she had 2 moles removed... When I called to ask why it was so expensive, they stated this is the "allowable" amount they are allowed to charge in the area (but that doesnt mean its reasonable or right...). DO NOT TRUST THIS DECEPTIVE CLINIC WITH YOUR CARE. I was seeking a routine yearly preventative skin cancer screening, and was assured by the scheduling team that this was a procedure that Epiphany performs. When I arrived, I double checked with the receptionist that my appt would be billed as routine preventative care and was assured it would be. I was later billed for the full cost of the appt, and when I called to inquire as to their mistake I was informed that that Epiphany DOES NOT perform routine preventative exams! This means I was lied to not once, but twice before my appointment. This clinic will happily lie to get you in the door, and does not care to fix anything when called out on their dishonesty. Your insurance will not pay for your appt even if its in network. When I spoke to the billing team, they literally laughed about the situation and called it "patient responsibility". WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD in the medical field. The doctor was rushed and did not explain anything throughout the procedure. The front desk was unable to answer questions about billing/proceudres as they have a Texas-based corporate billing team (we are in CO). read more

This was my first time visiting Epiphany and after arriving 15 mins earlier than my appointment which is what the arrival instructions recommended me to do, I continued to wait 30 minutes after my original appointment time therefore waiting for 45 minutes in the waiting room. When I got into the patient room, the intake coordinator told me that I could only speak to the doctor about ONE concern. Because I had two concerns, I had to choose which one I needed to speak to the doctor about. Never have I had that kind of experience at any doctors office. Once the doctor came in and spoke about my ONE concern, he didn't ask if I had any other questions. He was in the patient room for a total of 5 minutes. I do not think that is the way you should be operating. Since this was my first visit, I do not plan on coming back to this office. I took time out of my busy day to spend an hour at your office and now I have to book ANOTHER appointment at ANOTHER practice so I can ask my other questions. Unbelievable. read more

I called them and specifically asked whether they could treat moles (the very small dark brown spots) for cosmetic purposes. The lady said yes. And when I asked about the cost, she said $125 for initial consult then $65 (or around there) per mole. Come to find out (at my appt.), the doc says they are not able to zap away moles. Doc said that the only option is to refer out to a plastic surgeon and cut it, which would make a scar. Good info, but I'm not about to spend thousands of dollars to trade scars for a a few small dots. The reason I am giving one star is because I was misinformed about what they do. If I knew that moles are not serviceable using their methods (like laser and/or freezing), I would not have made the appt. I'm out $125 for a two-minute consultation. read more

Hunter H. Sams, MD, was not helpful at all. He came into the appointment bragged about writing a book, that had no solutions to the onycholysis I already knew I had from simple googling. After telling me there were 50 potential reasons as to why this was happening (causing my anxiety to go through the roof) he said there was no medication for it, gave me no potential solutions, no referrals to dr's that would be more knowledgable, or provided any helpful guidance or information. He ended our appointment by telling me this might be something we just dont find the answer to and closed the door with no next steps. Would NOT recommend. read more
