I had toenail fungus (or so I thought). I went to a dermatologist instead of podiatrist since Google said at a derm's office, they could clip my toenail and send to lab for testing, to see if it's fungus or which microorganism caused my toenail discoloration. Dr Li gave me Terbinafine....for almost 1 year. When I asked her why her office didn't take a clip of my toenail and send to the lab, she said testing my toenail would cost hundreds of dollars and it's basically cheaper to see if terbinafine would work. But Terbinafine can cause liver toxicity, it's a strong medicine, thank goodness I didn't get adverse reaction from this medication. She sent me to check my liver function after the first 3 months. I think Dr Li has a tendency to give patients strong meds for a long time - longer than it should. The doctor could also be more friendly. After a year, the toenail got better but still not clear. I switched to a podiatrist who was very surprised I was on terbinafine for that long. My PCP also very surprised I was on Terbinafine that long. He took a sample of my toenail, sent to the lab and it cost me $0, insurance fully covered it and it says no fungus but I have bacteria. He gave me antibiotic drop to take care of it. read more

I went to this dermatologist to get a 2nd opinion. She made me feel awful. She refused to stand near me an told me to go to the ER. My original diagnosis was Molluscum Contagiosum. If she knew anything about it, she would probably know that it's more common in children or adults with weak immune systems. I am absolutely stunned by the negative reviews for this clinic. I went in today , I was treated with kindness and professionalism at the front desk. I was taken back to the treatment area , asked a couple of questions and I had all of my concerns addressed. Then the doctor and two staff members came into treatment area- Dr Li spent a couple minutes with me- addressed my concerns and offered to courses of treatment I chose to have a few benign growths frozen off my back She reviewed to others on my neck and head , told me what they were and that was that. I have had anxiety about going to the dermatologist, it's just a chore and I always feel like just another number to check off a list. I decided to try out a new place and visited Epiphany Dermatology. I saw Dr. Guda and she was AMAZING. I checked in and was brought back within 5 minutes. The assistant was kind and gathered my concerns. She gave me a gown and thoroughly explained the process and expectations (what to remove and how to wear the gown). Dr Guda was so nice and sweet! She address all of my concerns and was genuine in her feedback and concerns. I am definitely recommending her to all of my friends and family. I don't usually leave reviews, but I feel a responsibility to speak up. I saw Dr. Li for a mole removal. She was extremely rushed--barely spent a couple of minutes with me--and offered no aftercare instructions whatsoever. I trusted her as a medical professional, but I left the office confused and anxious. That anxiety eventually led me to the ER because I was terrified by how my body was reacting. Two weeks later, I still haven't received my biopsy results, and I now have a deep green, painful wound on my side. I had to look through my own medical records to try to understand what happened, and what I found was disturbing: Dr. Li documented that she gave me education and discussed treatment options--which is completely false. She lied on an official medical record and submitted false charges to my insurance. I called and emailed the office multiple times to try to get this corrected, and I've been completely ignored. No one should have to chase down answers after a medical procedure, especially when they're in pain and scared. Reading the other reviews here confirms I'm not the only one who's had this experience. If you're considering this provider, please think twice. You deserve better. No one deserves to leave a doctor's office more anxious and injured than when they arrived. read more

This place is terrible. It was so tacky and so unprofessional. Had a skin cancer spot looked at on my chest, hand and arm. Had to take my shirt off, but they didn't offer anything to cover myself. Stay away from this place. I was referred here for a peel by the Denton location which is where I have always gone. I made an appt with Dr Li for a chemical peel. I will just say here that Dr Li was rude, dismissive, careless and on top of it all there was no consultation. So that non refundable fee was a ruse. She used a peel on me that I now realize is not meant for a first time peel. It's a very deep peel. I'm a week out and still in so much pain. She was rushing from room to room like it was a marathon. Slapping solution on me then off to the next victim. Then sent me home with no after care info. I had a packet of papers that I thought were after care instructions but as it turned out, it was 3 pages of her skin care products with prices and nothing about after care. A few days into this I was in so much pain that I showed a friend who has had peels and she was horrified. Then I showed a nurse and a Dr. all with the same reaction. Dr Li used a more expensive peel on me even tho it was not the appropriate one for my skin. Again no consult. No explanation of the choices or options and what each would do. Stay away from this place. I was mis diagnosed and prescribed the wrong topical. After 2 weeks of using the wrong medicine, my arm rash got worse. The dr took a culture sample but never looked at the results. She let me use the wrong topical for 2 weeks. Then never apologized or waived the visit after I came back to get retreated from mis diagnosis. Too many dermatology offices in this town to put up with this. Avoid this practice. The doctors are ok but the deceptikn about costs and fees and the billing department are a nightmare. when we made our appointments for a body scan for skin cancer my husband and I were told Medicare would cover costs as a preventive procedure. Then the multiple bills started coming in. I paid the first $72 bill and the next $79 bill and then got a $119 bill. I get there might be a small additional bill but this business is duplicities and should have been honest when we initially made our appointments. Wow, Its hard to believe these people who give a 1 star review because they were not seen immediately at their appointment time. Others say they saw a hair on the floor, amazing. its a busy office and the rooms actually have real people as patients who may disrobe to have skin checked and drop a hair. Another that she did not completely review the case file before speaking with her and relied on what the patients complaint addressed. The truth is that she has done amazing work for me , my spouse and a few friends who all love her and think she is a great dermatologist. Example my wife had a growth on her face near her eye which another dermatologist said he would have to refer to a plastic surgeon. Dr Li handled it beautifully in her office and there is no scar that can be seen once it healed. Amazing, this would have cost many thousands elsewhere but Dr Li did what she was trained to do. Many others just want quick gravy profits but when it comes to actual treatment and care she is not going to refer it out just because she can. Me, some annoying spots, some, which she treated as pre cancerous others just a freeze job. Always thorough in her exam and when 2 spots progressed, she treated it right there using the least invasive means and it worked out well and she got it free of cancer after a few treatments. She did not have to resort to MOS surgery or refer it out. My friend who initially referred me was treated for a face cancer and is now cancer free and no scar on his face either. Another friend has a lot of growths on her body and Dr Li takes great care of her and she is very happy compared to her last dermatologist. Some people gave a 1 star because of costs and repeated bills. Guess what that is the nature of dermatology, and repeated treatments is typical and normal. Many insurance companies do not approve procedures as submitted and the result is a bigger bill than first anticipated. She is an honest physician with amazing skills and professional integrity in reporting the work she does without being inaccurate for insurance purposes. Deal with it. Why did I write this review? I had to look up her office number and did a search which led to a yelp review. I was stunned at these complaints here on yelp, It was ridiculous what these people are saying on yelp. I went and looked elsewhere for her reviews and NONE are so critical as the yelp page which is the only one with bad reviews so I figured I would stand up for the unjust slamming that some are doing. I am just a happy patient with her great service and thought I should push back on these negative reflections expressed here. You know sometimes competition will submit negative reviews or former employees with a grievance. I had a appointment yesterday, February 5th at 8:15 am. I've been told on multiple occasions that if I'm late for my appointment I will be charged in full. I was waiting in the lobby until 8:30. They expect me to be mindful of their time, but mine isn't important at all apparently. When I finally got taken back, the "Dr" talked to me for about a minute, and then tried to prescribe me something I've told her hasn't worked for me in the past. She also thought I had been taking a medicine for a full year, and my reasoning for the appointment was to get on this medicine again as I haven't been on it for a year. I took my grandmother here recently to get a consult on her rash that has not been getting better with home remedies. The scheduling process and trying to call this place was not very friendly. I got the appointment through, but I called after a couple times and it was leave straight to voicemail or no one would pick up or call me back after leaving them a voicemail. The visits- absolutely horrible. I don't think any patients deserve this kind of treatment from Dr. Lucy Li. We went to her primarily because my grandmother does not speak English and feels more comfortable with someone who speaks the same language as her and female, so we chose here. The doctor steps in for a max of 3 minutes, doesn't even look at my grandma or anything and just starts talking about the medicine she's gonna prescribe. How are you gonna know if you don't look? The follow up appointments were the same, she doesn't look at my grandma and talks for ONE MINUTE max and rushes up to leave without answering our questions. She then leaves her assistants with us to answer questions and input stuff in the ipad. We had no conversation with the doctor or anything, and barely explaining the disease process to us. Anyways, I would not recommend you going to her she obviously don't give a crap about her patients, so save yourself and your time! read more

Today was my first time visiting this dermatologist office. I decided to give them a try because they are conveniently located near my home, and had decent reviews. The receptionist was fine, paper work process was swift, and the doctor was very knowledgeable with informing me as to what to expect from the different prescription options. I decided to try a chemical peel for the first time. The doctor informed me that because of my melanated skin, there is a higher possibility of chemical burns. So she recommended the mechanical peel with suction instead, I appreciated this. My only complaint here is the procedure process with the nurse. I felt extremely rushed and like she half did the job at that point! She literally took a total of 3 mins to complete this $90 procedure! She said "ok we're done, you can follow the hallway around to exit" and left out the room. Didn't ask if I had any questions or how I felt or ANYTHING! She was GONE before I even got up off the bed! For this reason alone I'll be finding a better dermatologist office in the Frisco area read more

The good: Nice facility that's kept clean and neat. They offer plenty of services and have a good number of staff to help you. Dr. Zhang was a HUGE plus for the practice, but has since left. The bad/ugly: They are HORRIBLY unorganized and unprepared for each day. Months into Covid, they are still unable to plan for the televisits properly. They often forget to send the links for the visit out until minutes before or even AFTER the visit begins. You'll be left waiting for at minimum a half an hour for a (literally) triple booked doctor to join you in a virtual waiting room...if you get a link in time. This has happened to our family 5 times now, which is completely unacceptable. We've also not had a great experience with Katie Vo. She is completely uneducated in basic, proper treatments and her technique for simple sutures left my son with a horrible scar. I would AVOID her completely. She needs and requires constant correction and assistance from doctors for basic care. Our family is currently looking for a new practice. Without Dr. Zhang, there really is no "upside" for us at epiphany..I'm positive there are plenty of other dermatology offices in the area that have more to offer. read more

The doctors are fine. But the billing and policies are terrible. My insurance covers routine preventative skin checks, and that is exactly what I called to schedule. They billed as diagnostic even though there were no skin issues or anything to "keep an eye on". And even after my insurance company talked to them they still stood by their billing code. They sure didn't tell me when booking the appointments for both my husband and me that they wouldn't be covered by insurance. I also called and talked to a manager there, who said she would look into this and call me back. She never did. I will not be returning. Just be aware if you're looking for a service "covered by insurance" that their policy may make it billable. read more

I feel that all the dr's really have taken the time to help my daughter when she was going through a difficult time, they were always in the room longer than 3 minutes and they have always been very personal. Well this isn't my first bad experience with this company unfortunately. I used to go here for all of my dermatological needs but wasn't pleased for many reasons so I switched doctors but my current doctor is a male so I was due for my full body skin check and wasn't comfortable doing this with a male so I scheduled with Katy Vo at Epiphany. First of all, you never usually end up seeing the provider that you made the appointment with. I saw Lucy Li instead which was fine because I had seen her before. I asked about a little bump under my chin area and she said it was a cyst and could be removed. At that time is wasn't hurting at all. I didn't like it and just wanted it removed so we scheduled that for a few months out. Well I since had some micro needling done somewhere else which must've aggravated the cyst because it's gotten bigger and hurts. I called epighany this morning to try to get in right away but they have providers out of town and the soonest they can get me in is over a week away and of course it wouldn't be with the provider I originally saw. She said they're not an emergency clinic and if it hurts that bad go to urgent care or the ER. So rude! Whatever happened to common decency? Me and my wife had undereye procedures (AGNEs)back in February. The results were unsatisfactory and after $3000 cash they want us to come back in two months for another treatment of another $1000. She told us the bruises will disappear in two to three weeks but it's now two months and the marks are still there. I called the office on the week of 4/11 and asked the medical secretary Whitney of our condition. To have cryo or liquid nitrogen spryed on my face witout care was not the quality of service I was expecting. The liquid nitrogen was literally dripping all the way to my neck. I had to use my bare hand to stop the drip since nobody thought to look after me during the procedure. Someone named Lee or Li noticed this only after she already spayed the substance on my face. She said, "the pressure on the handheld liquid nitrogen was not correct." Then she proceeded to spray the other side of my face without protecting my eye just spryed it on my cheek as if it was a perfume body mist. This is reckless and I expected more precise application. Mrs. Lee or Li didn't spend more than 5 minutes total applying the liquid nitrogen . The nurse when asked to get somehting responded, "I will try to find it." No body seems to respect anybody at this place. Very disappointing how the service has deteriorated and gone downhill. I had an absolutely horrible experience here...please don't go there if you expect for them to treat you and not just take your money. I went to my appointment and the doctor came in and spent less than 3 minutes with me before ordering blood tests. No big deal, right? Well, I had the blood work done offsite since they don't do that there (again, hot a huge deal) and waited weeks for the results. I finally called and some random nurse who didn't meet me during my initial visit and didn't understand the severity of my situation, said bloodwork was fine and tried to get off the phone with. No discussion about next steps or what could be causing my issue. I asked to speak with the doctor I saw and was refused. The worst dermatologist - do not go here- the staff is fully aware of their horrible reviews and crooked billing practices. I had to get on the phone with my insurance provider to dig deep regarding how they were excessively billing. "Dr" Mai NP labeled my skin lesion as being located on the right thenar eminence area of my palm and on a second visit being located on the right ulnar area of my palm meanwhile my skin lesion remains and has remined in SAME ARE entire year long. I even have photos! This is all part of a scheme in labeling patient charts bc if they label your skin issue in diff areas it "gives them lee-way" and more ammunition to continuously charge for UN NEEDED biopsy's! Vanessa the medical assistant flat out lied to me saying she was the officer mngr, on a Dec 2021 visit after I questioned the astronomical bill she came back with and basically dangled it over my head so as to say, "either you pay this or we cant help you". I was in there disputing the bill for 38 minutes.. even called my insurance provider form the office who said, that doesnt sound like what you'll end up owing but they can technically charge what ever they want -My health insurance provider ended up sending me my explanation of benefits from the visit and detailed that OVER CHARGE by $$116.00 ! I called the office back to speak to Vanessa, the "mngr' only to be told that she isn't the mngr as per the lady who answered laughing at my saying Vanessa was mngr. I told her that , that's what I was told and who I was told to ask for. I was then put on the phone w the actual "mngr", Angelica who then had her "mngr" Janet call me who attempted to explain/ make sense of the the complete trash bed side manner her peers demonstrated thus far let alone the over charge in billing - listen to me when I tell you - this dermatologist is only here for MONEY - could care less about patients and MAKE SURE TO READ THE FINAL WRITE ups in your PATIENT PORTAL and take pictures of any skin irritations, THERE IS SMOKE AT THIS PLACE. I was a patient for 6 months. I requested a referral for my son to also be seen, out of convenience and waiting patiently for our appointment that took two months to get. We show up and the front desk tells me, Im dorry to inform you we no longer take Tricare. I say okay, well I wasn't I informed because arriving? She says, do you want to pay cash? I Say no, I am also a patient and I never received a call or email anything that told me you stopped taking Tricare. I called the next day to get all my medical record, and asked about my treatment I am currently on, which they double my dose last time I was there. Transfer, to the manager, she yelled and hung up on me. I do not care if you stopped taking my insurance. At minimum let me know. They do not care about patients as I asked the staff to tell my Doctor to give me a note or something for my new dermatologist. They were completely rude, and bulgar about the entire situation. The manager then said, you can still come here, you do not even have an appointment why are you calling. So apparently, they were just renewing there contract, but wanted me to go in an pay cash. A simple, maam, we are working with Tricare, right now, we are sorry for making you come to your appointment. No, they were rude, and I will not give my business to someone that doesn't value it. Here's a kicker, by life's coincidence I had just moved to El Paso and Dr. Robert Morrons dog attacked my dog and son. I used Tricare for my E.R. visit. I gave his family the benefit of doubt, that they were careless with there dog. My son has a huge scar, in his hand over the bite. I had issues getting my medication approved by my insurance. Lexus and Dr. Li went above and beyond to get me taken care of and gave me samples until insurance would cover it. They always responded quickly to my calls, and I am always able to get an appointment in a timely manner. I've had my condition my whole life and this was the first time that a doctor really looked at preventative treatment rather than just masking the symptoms. Do NOT take your children to Epiphany Dermatology! We saw Andrea McLin to have a wart removed from my teenage daughter's knee. McLin was impatient, unprofessional, and unempathetic. She scolded my daughter for being afraid of the needle, then she scolded me for asking for a gentler bedside. She was far from gentle and her bedside manor was extremely unprofessional. It was obvious to me that she doesn't have experience with children or care to extend any kind of comfort that we expect from a medical provider. We will NOT be back and you shouldn't go there either. The nurse, Alyssia, was very kind and comforting to us. The receptionist was exceptionally knowledgeable and polite, but the service we paid for was awful. My daughter is traumatized and we will have to pay to see a different dermatologist in order to make treatment successful. I asked to speak with the office manage, who of course, wasn't there. I have been a patient of Dr. Li at Ephiany Dermatology since 9/19 for cosmetic purposes. On 11/15/19 I had her excise a small ganglion cyst from my forearm. On Sunday, Nov. 24, I went to Urgent Care and was diagnosed with cellulitis, given a shot of Clindamycin and 10 days of antibiotics. I have been referred to a surgeon for evaluation of my arm. I called Dr. Li at 9 AM on Monday, Nov. 25, and spoke to her medical assistant (assisted in the excision) Megan. I was told that any information I needed about my treatment could be found on the patient portal and she sent me a link. I asked her to advise Dr. Li of my infection and asked her to call me. I never received a phone call back, I question the office protocol in the case of a complication when another MD must intervene. I would at least expect a phone call from the doctor who performed the original procedure. I am very upset with my treatment and in particular the fact that my doctor has essentially ignored me. read more

daniel cane,(ceo and co-founder of modernizing medicine) i have a different perspective of modernizing medicine while you gloat about how well your company has made money. while you pat yourselves on the back, real people with real-world problems are at your mercy. your staff at epiphany dermatology in frisco texas is horrible. you should be ashamed! they held my skin cancer results for over a week and did not inform me of the diagnosis! they called and left a message to call them which i did on two occasions. they said a nurse would get back to me, no one ever did. when i called for the third time, your associate told me that i should answer my phone when they call! how arrogant and unprofessional! i finally took it upon myself to go into the office to get my results. what do you know, i have squamous cell carcinoma!!! this is a cancer that is capable of spreading rather quickly. your trained staff of doctors, nurses etc... didnt think that this was important to notify the patient!!?? they had the cancer diagnosis on 8/1/19 and i finally got the results on 8/9/19. this is totally unacceptable!!! they had me sign into your portal and said that the results would be posted there as soon as they were available. nothing, absolutely nothing posted to this very day! this particular skin cancer can be aggressive. one week makes a big difference !!!!! my doctor was dr zhang, huayi, from frisco texas. she was very short and quick with me. she said she would freeze another large mole growth on my head in addition to the biopsy of the cancer area. she came back into the room and completely forgot to freeze another problem area. when i mentioned it to her she said she would do it next time. she then released me with no future appointment, no next time! she was very quick and short like she had other things to do. dr zhang never contacted me again, no apology, nothing. i ask you, would she treat her family this way? would she like her parents treated this way? does she represent you and your core values? i think we know the answer! i have a family, i have three children, they need me! i subsequentially found another dermatologist to exisize the cancer area because epiphany frisco wanted me to wait another two weeks for a surgery appointment! i pray that the delay with dr. zhang will not cost me my life at some point. read more

Do not recommend. I have a skin condition that needs treatment every so often. Have always been given a shot in the area and this takes care of the problem. Not so, at this office. Given an ointment. Went to another dermatologist today and as given a shot (as has been done in the past) and the condition will clear up in about a week. Also, had a biopsy on a kerotosis and have yet to hear the results and it has been 10 Days! You cannot call the office and speak to a person. Left 2 messages for the clinical staff and never heard back until I selected the button to make an appointment....they took note to the clinical person and they called me back. I was instructed that if I had questions for the doctor, I needed to make another appointment to speak with her. Needless to say, I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO EPIPHANY!!
