I had a large, raised red mark about the size of a dime on my torso that Dr. Hughes determined did not look to be cancer. A little over a year later the same mark, still about the same size, was biopsied and found to be basal cancer. After my problems with scaring from the basal cancer removal on my upper chest, requiring 3 separate surgeries to get clean margins, I pushed to have Mohs surgery that was done at North Pacific Dermatology (NPD), who I could not recommend more for their scarless and thorough surgeries. NPD removed my Basal cancer on my torso with clean margins but found PNI. 20 radiation sessions later at Overlake and I am left wondering what would have been if Dr. Hughes had biopsied the dime-sized red mark when first found. After 20 radiation sessions my mortality rate from PNI dropped from ~ 25% to half that, but just wow. MAKE SURE YOU GET THOROUGH BODY SCANS AND INSIST ON BIOPSIES! I contacted Mercer Island Dermatology to ensure they understood what happened and my concerns. Although I stressed that I was not seeking any monetary damages and just wanted to ensure that they looked at my experience and evolved their protocols, they took zero ownership. I have no idea if they changed their body scanning protocols.

They sent it to a collections agency, who in turn immediately filed a law suit. I ended up having to pay over $450 for a bill that was originally $166, that shouldn't have even been that much had they billed correctly, all to avoid having to go to court. When the office was informed of this they first took my payment saying I was all good, then later reversed it to side with the collections agency. I'd given them 0 stars if I could.

About three weeks ago I had, what should have been a minimally invasive procedure, done at this location. Since then I've experienced ongoing complications that have not been properly addressed, nor fall under categorically minimal side effects that may result from the procedure, if it is done correctly. Despite reaching out multiple times, I have not been given a clear treatment plan or consistent follow-up care but instead I've received delayed responses or made to feel that it's a personal issue rather than a result of improper care. My condition has only worsened over time, and I've been left to manage this largely on my own. From the beginning, there were inconsistencies in communication. I was sold a package but later told I had misunderstood what was included in the package. I was also told that I would be sent home with aftercare products, which I understood to be part of the service, but were later presented as additional add-on products to purchase for necessary aftercare. I was given the run around from the time of purchase, until now that I have made several attempts to resolve this not only amicably but primarily to get my skin heath back. I was made to feel that this was an isolate issue because of my own skin but have since consulted with other RNs and licensed aestheticians to better understand what actually happened. Based on what I shared with them & their assessment of the aftermath, they expressed concern about how the procedure was performed, including the intensity, level of aggressiveness and the lack of proper skin assessment or testing beforehand by the aesthetician as there are different classes that the procedure fall under, some of which do not comply with certain skin types. I have tried to be patient, reasonable & more than fair in giving the business an opportunity to address this, but the responses thus far have been dismissive, unprofessional and lackluster given the severity of the situation & how it has damaged my skin & impacted my overall conscious throughout my day to day activities. This experience has had a significant impact on me, physically, emotionally, and professionally, and not something I take lightly. I had previously referred several friends here, which makes having to write this, even more disappointing. At this point, I do not feel comfortable continuing treatment with this provider as they have shown their lack of care & professionalism from start to finish. I am currently exploring further options to address the situation & hope that the business takes it seriously in working towards an actual resolution, prior to me taking further action to do so.

I've been struggling with arthritis and chronic pain in my hands for several years since I…read morerecovered from carpal tunnel syndrome. I've tried various treatments from western doctors, but they only seemed to treat the symptoms and not heal the core issue. So after seeing some government research on the effectiveness of acupunture for treating arthritis, I decided to give it a shot. First session and most of my pain went away for a few days. Before treatment, my pain was around a 6/10 constantly. After the first treatment, it went down to around 3/10. Pretty effective so far, but would it last? After about 2 weeks of treatment and herbal medicine, my pain levels dropped to around 3/10 consistently. The inflammation reduced a fair amount to the point where my hands weren't constantly swollen red all day. Since my condition was pretty severe I decided to get treatment for about 4 months, 1-2x a week, and doing physical therapy on the side to rebuild my hand strength. Now I can gladly say that I'm mostly pain and inflammation free in my hands. My hands are still a little weakened from overuse and there's some lingering soreness in my right hand, but my physical therapy is helping with that. I can actually lift weights again, which I'd go into relapse if I tried that before I began treatment. All the staff were always so friendly and accommodating to me. The clinic was very clean and aesthetically pleasing, with relaxing classical music playing in the background. If anyone's worried about dirty needles, I haven't caught anything besides the occasional minor bruising and swelling after sessions sometimes. But they all quickly healed in 2-3 days. My insurance covered costs, but even without insurance it still would cost less than western doctors with insurance. I would strongly recommend anyone suffering from arthritis to try out acupuncture and maybe do physical therapy as well. I thought I'd have to live like an 80 year old in my 20's forever, but I'm thankful for everyone at hopespring for helping my recovery.

The facility is clean and very nice in the middle of madrona area. My skin was not prepped nor cleansed and product was applied directly to the skin without any prep. During the treatment the esthetician left midway to answer a phone call and kept mentioning another service they provide- a skin focused facial that would answer all of my skin needs, not the concern I was visiting the spa for. My appointment had started at 10:20 (time I walked into the building to check in) and at around 10:55 the aesthetician said we were done and I should get dressed. I received my receipt via email at 11:09. Post appointment, I didn't feel like the usual "de-puff" feeling I get when I get a lymphatic facial massage with other spas. I received a discount of 20% for being a new client (check their Yelp page) and was asked if I wanted to schedule the suggested skincare treatment. While I had a great experience getting to know the workers and facility, I don't know if I'll be back.
