Everything here is BIGLY! Sauna. Steam room. Showers. All have more square footage. Cool little couches and a cafe. Apparently also a private members only (you need to be a member + another type of member?) locker room (a bootlicker gatekeeper prevented me from looking inside). Water fills up quickly, so that's always a plus. There is a lat raise machine. As well as a speed bag (haven't seen this at other Equinoxes yet). There is a clear view of the Rockefeller Center Ice Rink from the glute drive equipment. Therefore, all being said, that's a 5 star from me. read more

I am writing this message immediately following an incident I witnessed at the front desk exactly at 1pm today, June 17, 2026.I observed front desk staff stopping and aggressively scrutinizing patrons trying to access the independent salon on our floor. Specifically, these patrons were people of color. Simultaneously, I witnessed other patrons being waved through the security gates with standard or minimal verification.The staff member (Ella or Ellen-causacian blonde) working the desk at this exact time was a female employee with blonde hair. According to Equinox Member Policies, the club strictly requires a supportive, respectful, and inclusive environment. The disparate treatment and heightened profiling of salon guests based on race is a severe violation of that policy and creates a hostile environment. read more

Very commodious workout area. I like how there's a Cafe right there where I can chill, do some work like a coffee shop but better since I can get a post-workout meal in there too. Treadmills are fantastic, I like how the locker room is super clean and well kept. Only thing I don't like is that for the cost, it should be nearly 24/7. read more

Let the buyer beware. If you need to put your membership on hold - you can't. You will continue to be charged for the 12 month period and they will add an additional month at the end for $100. This may not be clearly explained to you but it doesn't matter because it will be in the fine print you may or may not choose to read. Really like this location. It is very spacious and lots of equipment on just one floor so you don't have to run up and down to other floors like other Equinox branches. Also they have many areas for you to sit and chill or get work done. Very spacious locker room like at E61st. Negative one star because this location does not open on the weekends. read more

At the end of the end of the day it's a quality gym in prime location. Reasonable amount of racks and benches given the space. There's one of everything you need machine wise. I haven't taken the classes would likely bump a star if I did (assuming same quality as other EQX). Locker Rooms are clean. It's never too busy due to the price point / location mix, even at 6pm you can still get a good work out. Should be four stars but being closed on Saturday & Sunday (even if you get access else where on weekends) is not great. Also closes early. Equinox Rockefeller Center is my favorite weekday corporate gym. I attend yoga, barre and Pilates weekday evenings. The classes are consistently outstanding. They gave away All Fenix athletic gear for Halloween as part of a ballet barre raffle. The facility is a quick, extremely convenient walk to Grand Central for commuters. They have a hair salon and spa onsite! The spa lounge is beautiful. read more

Get ready for a real freakin' treat with this one because the drama is high, the stakes are even higher, and the former queen of Equinox locations has been de-throned after my visit to Eq Rockefeller Center. I thought my faves couldn't be topped but Rockefeller center is the new #1 spot on my definitive Equinox shower power ranking. It has a large eucalyptus-scented steam room and sauna, as well as a maze of extra-large, ultra-private showers with thick dividing walls. They don't extend all the way to the ceiling, like I previously preferred, but the spaciousness and more private feeling made up for it. Top notch, highly recommend. This is kind of a weird location. It used to be a Sports Club LA, so everything is in a confused state. I literally got lost going to the locker room, and then again walking from the locker room to the workout area. This actual location is upstairs in one of the buildings at Rockefeller Center. The lobby is pretty nice, I must admit. It feels like I'm checking into a hotel, but then it all starts getting weird. You walk past a hair salon, and some random store, and then you have to go downstairs to get to the locker rooms. Make a left for the mens, and a right for the women's, but your journey doesn't end there. You get to walk past a set of lockers, but they're not the ones in the locker room, and then make ANOTHER turn into the locker room. Don't make a mistake and turn into the executive locker room though, you got to go into the normal one. So you've finally changed and are ready to go workout right? Awesome. Now walk back up the stairs and then go through another hallway and then you get to the workout area. Granted, the actual workout area does have pretty much everything you need. It's not overly crowded, probably cause no one wants to come to this location, so you won't have any trouble getting a machine. There are enough cardio machines, and a decent sized weight room. Now that you've completed your nice workout, it's time to hit the showers right? Well, the showers are weird too. They have like a 3/4 door so you can literally have a conversation with everyone in the showers, or awkwardly make eye contact with someone. Not a good look. This Equinox needs some serious overhauling. I know this used to be another gym, but there is no way in hell someone is going to pay Equinox prices to use this location. Upon further review it's really two stars. In the day, Equinox rock center was part of the swanky sports club la empire. Really high rent caused this place to be sold to equinox. While i initially thought the improvements were long overdue, the club has lost some of it's focus. As a mega chain, equinox is the most expensive gym in town. It's premium over health and racquet and ny sports remains deserved. So why two stars? The club's intense focus on cleanliness seems to be waning. Today the locker rooms were ick dirty, a ton of lockers were broken, and no toilet paper in the upstairs ladies room (cept for one stall). For $150+++ depending on all gym / single gym, it's pretty unacceptable. Layer in, inferior quality classes and instruction to speciality gyms, and equinox is quickly losing it's star appeal. Maybe equinox is feeling the pinch of market share losses to places like Barry's, soul, fly wheel but if they aren't minding the mother ship, this situation is only going to get worse! read more

Terrible customer service. The staff needs to change the way they treat clients. Came in four minutes after they closed and they would not allow us to quickly use the restroom. Customer service is everything and to deny clients to even just use the bathroom is so low and ludicrous. You should really hire nice attendants at the front not jerks. read more

This is a review of Business Practice at the Rockefeller location and not a review of the facility itself (which I did like). I'll make this short and sweet. 1. I went to the club to check the facility at the end of September. At that time the waived initiation and were giving $100.00 gift card to sign up at end of September. I missed the deadline. Ok, No problem 2. October rolls around and the sales rep followed up. I explained that I would like the same deal that was offered in September and that I was looking for the Executive Membership (YIKES - $350.00/mo $4,200/yr) however I believe it health and fitness so I was ready to drop some coin. I was told nope, can't do it. Ok, so I passed. 3. I get an email stating that an incentive to join before end of October and you receive a $100.00 gift card to the store. OK, that' close to September deal. I write and explain, that I want initiation waived too and the reply is that the initiation is refunded if I do the free evaluation. OK, no problem - I was going to do that anyway. Then I explained that I was referred by another member. As a result of referral, my friend receives $150.00 and I receive $100.00 to spend anywhere (store, Spa or personal training.) I copied this from the Equinox website so the sales rep would have it handy. 4. I receive a reply that they would not honor the gift card anymore. So I would only receive the referral 100.00. So now I feel I am being cheated out of what was offered to me. I should have received 100 gift card plus the 100 from the referral. 5. The contract says they are to collect 600.00 immediately. (350 for monthly dues November + 250 initiation) and that future monthly fees would be charges on the 23rd. A week earlier than due. So from a business standpoint - Would anyone walk away from a $4200.00 deal because of a $100 store credit??? Think about that for a minute. If I bought clothes in the store, how much is it really costing Equinox? Wouldn't it make sense to make a new customer happy and abide by the offers? Heck they should go over and beyond. Also, why wouldn't they pro-rate the first month if they are going to charge on the 23rd of each month? They are collecting 1 week earlier or 25% earlier. Sometimes I just don't understand sales people or the reps manager that make these kind of poor business decisions. The rep misses out on commission and the corporate misses out on the $4,200 PLUS whatever else I would have spent on Personal training, Spa, Store future renewals etc. Sorry for the long post however I hope someone from corporate reads this. I like this location, though I did not work out. I had an hour or so to kill so just went to steam (been injured) and shower before dinner and event in Chelsea. I had no idea it was so large. It's quite elegant and spacious. The steam room was not hot enough for me but it was clean and large. Also the showers are really private, individual stalls. Nice bench. Pressure in the showers excellent. Coat check and lockers that lock (so annoying when there aren't locks). I never go because no Iyengar yoga. I travel to different clubs for this so I don't have to spend money at the Institute (W 22nd). The clubs that offer Iyengar: 63rd (1 class), Flatiron (1 class), 67/Columbus (5 or 6 classes), W 85th (1 class), W 92nd (3 classes), Columbus Circle (2 classes), Greenwich Ave (3 classes). But I liked it and it's kind of cool to feel the energy/vibe of Rock Center. Also there are chaise lounges (two) outside steam and sauna. The day I went the sauna was not hot, just warm. Could have been broken or someone might not have turned it up. But I would go back. read more

Probably my favorite location. Recently switch to Hudson Yards select and am kind of disappointed in that location. Anyway, this review is about Rockefeller. All staff and maintenance are super friendly and respectful. Very helpful whenever we have questions or need help. Equipment and machines are always up to date and they recently added more to their location! I was hyped. Lockers and showers are huge! (Way bigger than Hudson Yards. I was surprised). They definitely have a lot more amenities than other locations I've noticed like a steamer for your clothes! Fellow members are as focused as me while working out. Overall, great location and I wish I hadn't switched over. Maybe I'll return. I only switched to HY because of the easy walk from work. read more

In my journey around Equinox NYC, this was gym number 2 (the first being Bryant park). I find it odd Bryant park would have an overall higher rating, but after reading the reviews for this gym, I realized a lot has changed since they were written. Layout: When you walk in, you take an elevator ride to floor 3 where you check in. From there, you make a right to get to the check in desk or a left to go to the cafe. After check-in, you make a right and walk down the hall and down about 5 steps; here, you can choose to either go down 1 flight (to the changing rooms) or just walk across the hall/platform to get to unisex locker area/sports training room and main workout area (go right after all the unisex lockers). You then walk through the main room. To the left is the cardio equipment and to the right are the weights. I can't go into much specifics, because I just whizzed past it since I was already late to my class, which was at the end of the room. The Good: + There are SO many showers. After seeing the line at the Bryant park location after a weekday morning class, I decided to leave the class a couple minutes early to get down there so I can get a shower without waiting. The showers are BEAUTIFUL and massive. There is a changing section within the shower stall with a bench. Even when I got out of my shower, there were only 2 people waiting (as opposed to about 20 in the Bryant Park location). And I had no problem finding a blow drier/ space to do my hair and makeup + I did a spin class and really enjoyed myself. When I walked in, it smelled like eucalyptus which faded (or I got nose blind) about half way through the class. As for the instructor, she really really pushed the class. The Bad: - The place is a bit of a maze so don't hesitate to ask where anything is or you'll just be walking into random places - You have to take an elevator ride from the street to the entrance which could take a little bit of time - so factor that into your commute - I had trouble finding a water fountain - and when I did, I had trouble filling up my large bottle. Need to search more for a better/more fountains. read more

This is my primary gym location, as it's conveniently located at Rock Plaza where I work. It's fairly spacious, with 3 large areas each containing a different set up of exercise machines. As you would expect, this place gets crowded during the post-work peak hours (especially 6 to 7 pm). This is normal...however, it drives me a little nuts that there's always at least 10 free elliptical machines and hardly ever a free treadmill. The club would do well to reallocate their machines so people have to wait less for the machines they want. The classes are pretty good. I've only been to a few and they really kicked my butt. I think if you have the discipline to attend them regularly, you will see some results. Sadly I am more likely to grab a slice of pizza than to regularly attend class. For shame. If you don't attend the classes, I'm not sure this gym is for you. The going rate for all access membership is around $200, which is pretty expensive compared to some cheaper options in the city, In terms of Equinox locations, this one has some of the newest machines, and their lockers have electonic locks, so you don't need to bring your own. The locker room can get crowded, but not as bad as the Bryant Park location, where someone's you know what is always just a few inches too close for comfort. read more

I desperately have to believe in how great this gym is, as extra incentive to keep to my workout schedule. To counteract my absurd appetite and possibly slowing metabolism(I really hope not), I signed up for Equinox per a friend's suggestion back in September. It's located in the same building as my offices so I usually go either before work or right after. I never went inside before it converted from LA Sports Club, but the interior is what you would expect at any Equinox. There is equipment for any of your needs, the staff is helpful/friendly, and there's always an overall professional/healthy vibe about the place. I'm not sure how much this one differs from other Equinoxes, as the only other one I've been to is the original (renovated) one on the upper west side. The steep membership cost, luxurious atmosphere, and my desire to continue being a fatty (on the inside only) makes me look forward to my visits. It really is quite refreshing to come here first thing on a Monday morning, work out, clear your mind, and contemplate the week. My personal favorites: - EUCALYPTUS TOWELS: Reminds me of Asian medicine, but man are they refreshing. - KIEHL'S PRODUCTS: Complementary. I unfortunately sweat like a monster after a good workout, but I feel.... "so fresh and so clean"(JUDGE AWAY) after a nice shower with their products. =] - SHOE SHINE! Right before you enter the men's locker area, you can get a shoeshine from the gentleman there. Complaints: - SLOW ELEVATORS: There are only 2 elevators that go up to the 3rd Floor and they are quite possibly the slowest elevators I've ever taken in the city. Put in a staircase or something... It would be faster if they hired a guy and a pulley to bring people up and down. - OPEN A LOCATION IN QUEENS: I would love for there to be just one Equinox available in Queens. There are days where I don't have work and I contemplate commuting all the way into the city just to visit the gym. I'm sure there is at least one neighborhood in Queens worthy of being home to an Equinox... @_@ Branded as a luxury fitness club / serving up exorbitant monthly fees isn't necessarily a bad thing. Personally, I like to view it as a health investment and makes me feel that much worse when I miss going. read more

I'll give you the details. It's a pretty great location, right in the center of the city, and Rockefeller Center. The gym is pretty, lots of different areas spread out on different floors. They have a restaurant that serves good food, and several others here like all the others are not. I haven't visited executive in yet but I'm sure it's okay. The reason this location gets three stars out of 45 is the service. Or lack there of. The front desk people are not friendly or helpful, or anything much. There was one but it took a lot of convincing to get her to do much. Also I'm familiar that this is another sports club LA venue, so I can understand why they didn't run with the bathrooms, or spa area. The shower area and all this surrounds fire is look ancient pretty much. They should fix the spa and locker rooms and hire new kinder young people and more diligent management ASAP read more

I was not impressed with this gym for how much it cost. I was fortunate and won a three month membership here. Wow, I thought. Three months at a super nice New York gym. Life doesn't get any luckier than that. Then, I arrived at the Rockefeller Center location where I won my membership. The gym is clean and the front lobby and locker rooms are divine. However, the equipment itself and the class offerings were just average. And really, to be shelling out that much money to work out, when my three months was up - I was not eager to join. As Sarah noted, and perhaps the best part of the gym, you can borrow workout clothes, socks and hair ties. As long as you bring sneakers and a sports bra for the ladies, you're good to go. Other amenities include a hair salon and a cafe. (But really, I don't join a gym to get my hair cut or to eat, I go to a salon or a cafe for those so the addition of these didn't wow me.) Maybe the other locations are more impressive. It does appear they have pools. As for the Rockefeller Center location, I'd only consider joining if I worked in the area and it was convenient. Definitely not worth paying that much and going out of your way to work out there. read more

Solid four stars. Not sure if men are experiencing bad shower/bathroom situation but in girls changing room construction must finish ASAP! I can feel the pain of those who are paying $200 or more per month; it is very sad to have 12 showers only for such a huge space (girls area). And I think only 4-5 are operating due to renovations. As per the toilets: I saw only 2 (the changing room area). That's bad. Luckily I was there 8.30am. Morning crowd starting to die out and I did not have to stand in line for any of the above. Also strange how a huge changing room features very limited "mirror access". Three or four tables with 2 seats? Girls must be pissed! That's it for the cons. PROS: - great tread mills - lots of space; you won't feel like a sweaty sardine in a can - towels in the work out areas - clean - classes - trainers are not pushy - equipment is all new - kinda older crowd, not sure if it's good or bad but felt weird having old dudes checking me out SUGGESTIONS: - train the staff to be a little more friendly and accommodating (are they mute?) - invest into jumping ropes (hello?) - what's up with the caffe - a little more info and a little more inviting personnel would be good - instead of just renting the clothes how about selling branded new ones (didn't find in this location) - weird Mac area: lots of space wasted for just sitting around? - space is big a little navigation signs, schedules signs, branded motivational collaterals on the walls would be cute And as far as the fees: I don't mind the rate at $198/mo but to join and experience a bathroom/shower in the state that it is now is just unjustified. If there was an incentive then yes, I will deal with showers for a little something extra in return, but no, corporate brain freeze. read more

I did a walk in just to see what equinox is all about. Place is decent, but I saw some flies around. Felt kind of crowded. Also, not that much gym equipment I thought the spacing is more than the equipment there. You only get 1 free Pilates class? Decor is okay, outdated. I thought Equinox would be a lot different more sophisticated ,... I don't know this location is just spacing and less gym. Customer service is okay. Some people are good to talk with but this Girl named Julie, who walked me on the tour, has some judgmental problems I think, asking to many weird questions that would not even want a person who might be interested to join. Made me feel quite uncomfortable, I know she wasn't too happy to walk around with me, I felt it. Great way to bring in potential customers JULIE! She said she sent me a trial pass, never got it. I felt she was judging me the whole time thinking I wouldn't join so why am I there to take a tour kind of thing. I don't know, but what I know is I think it's all over priced and with that attitude I will not be joining or going back to this location. Thanks. Put people perhaps who are non-judgmental and who do not make people feel uncomfortable in your membership department next time and you wont loose a customer. Peace read more

Very clean and organized gym. I thnk one of the nicest I've been a member of. I'm usually here in the really early hours before the meyham starts with people waiting for lockers, machines and such. Out of all Equinox locations, this one is by far my favorite. Women's locker room is spacious and clean, rarely overcrowded, never short on towels, standard Kiehl's products, electronic lockers, nice showers... Sauna and steam room are much cleaner/newer than at other locations. If you ever forget your gym clothes, they offer t-shirts, shorts and socks (free, have seen fellow gym goers wear those); if your clothes get wrinkled in a bag/locker, they have a steamer you can use - to the best of my knowledge, this is the only Eqx location that has a steamer in a locker room. I went to a number of classes and all instructors were great - attentive, motivating and very professional. Some of the classes get packed (but there's always enough room for your to work out) - probably a good indicator of instructors' experience level. Love this place and highly recommend to all Equinox members. read more

OH YES, OH MY GOD YES. Unlike Meg Ryan in "When Harry Met Sally", my post-assignation tingly good feeling and rosy glow is all REAL. I couldn't fake this satisfaction. I leave Sports Club/LA feeling like I've been (i) been put through the best wringer there is known to a man and then (ii) pampered like the princess in me deserves. It's clean, bright and open. No nasty gym-floor-rubber smell. No nasty "nasty man sweat all over my machine" smell. They've been updating their equipment to replace it with new machines. The classes rock. The locker rooms rock. Private showers (no crappy shower curtain), shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shaving cream, razors....this place is better stocked than my home bathroom. I'm sniffing my lovely ginger scented skin right at this very moment and I feel so pretty. I wasn't expecting much from the gym clothes. The shorts are mens shorts which ride up on big hipped and small waisted chicas like me, so I bring my tight little gym shorts. The t-shirts are cotton, so no awesome sweat-wicking properties. The people are respectful...those that I see. The best part is...the lack of people. It's not crowded. I don't even have to use a treadmill *next* to someone. Yes, it costs more than most NYC gyms. Howeves, I've belonged to gyms/clubs of this caliber elsewhere, and I'm shocked that people think it's uber-spendy. If you want a $20 gym experience, there are plenty of places to buy just that. I need the amenities and I'm willing to pay. read more

Like all Equinox locations, it's overpriced, but this is a really nice gym. The staff is nice and I'm generally ready to die after Metcon, VIPR, Impact, or Cardio Sculpt classes, which is the way I like it. The machines are generally new and never too busy, even in the evening rush. Cons: it can be hard to find a free locker, and the spin classes fill up. Also this is trivial, but their shampoo is the best shampoo in the world. It leaves your hair so soft and shiny! Now my review sounds like a listicle in Glamour. read more

Gym itself is very good -- great classes, workout space, gym clothes provided, fancy shampoos and lotions - though showers are in desperate need of updating. They feel like a prison cell with short doors and old tiles. Nevertheless, this review primarily to commend the wonderful service of the membership director Lenny Golden. Usually when you deal with gym membership salesmen (or used car salesmen), you need to take a shower immediately afterwards to get the slime off. Lenny was direct, straightforward and offered me the best deal outright and with no hassle so 5 (Golden) Stars for him! And I didn't feel like having to take a shower afterwards ... which was especially nice given the state of the showers in the facility! read more

This location used to offer clothing to workout in, but they ended this program after more than a decade at the end of November in 2017.

The only thing you have to bring is your sneaks, because this place gives you freshly cleaned clothes and socks everytime you get there. They also give you a locker key, towel, soap, shampoo, hair gel, face lotion. So yeah, just your shoes! You have to dig the everyday fifteen minute ab class midday, so you can go during lunch. Very clean, never gross. Always smells like a spa. People are very friendly and everyone is respectful towards each other. The Upper East Side location is the biggest (has a pool). Upper West Side (Reebok) has a Olympic sized swimming pool. Both of these locations have rock-climbing walls. read more

If there was a modern version of such an exuberant place, its fitness training facilities would look just like The Sports Club/LA at Rockefeller Center. From the moment you arrive and one of its charming muses greets you, you realize you have come here for a reason: looking and feeling good/hot/amazing. Every element of the club inspires you to outdo yourself every day, and pushes you to reach your goals: the clean locker rooms, the shiny dumbbells, the treadmills and elliptical machines marching in unison, the grunts of exhausted sport-o-holics striving to be in their best shape ever. If you take a fitness class, the group exercise instructors will make you scream and feel each and every single muscle fiber in your body. The Titan-looking personal trainers, whose solely purpose in life is apparently to make you as godly-looking as them, will push you to your limits until you feel like fainting. Yes, it's sounds masochistic, but it is worth it! When you are done with your work out session, you decide to pamper yourself, get a massage, enjoy the steam room and sauna, and why not, watch some TV in the private lounge. Now, you are revitalized and ready to take the elevator down, back to the human world. You exit the building and look up. An incontrollable feeling of happiness and self-confidence overcomes you, and all of a sudden you have smile on your face. You are in Rockefeller Center, the center of the world, and you think to yourself: "I have such a fantastic life!" read more

I love this gym. The Rockefeller location provides workout clothes, the staff is always friendly and accommodating, and the cafe serves delicious food (though a bit pricey). Overall, this gym provides a great workout experience. I'm a big fan and I'd recommend to others. Ding one star for some small inconveniences - i.e. I have had to wait in line to take a shower (not fun), some of the TVs on the cardio machines don't work properly, I can never make any of the classes given their timing 7am to 7pm, etc. read more

What can I say about this gym besides its the best! It's clean, energetic vibe, not stuck up, it really is the best gym in the world. Atleast I think so. It has wonderful classes, that I take weekly, the weight room is always stocked and ready to use. The people/members on the "gym floor" always look happy to be there, they dont look miserable to be there. Loi Jordan's cardio sculpt abs and booty classes are insane, so good. Ariel Kelly's Friday night yoga class is amazing. So many other classes are also really good there. The front desk staff are super friendly and are helpful if you ask them about signing up for classes, or anything. The fact that this gym is in the middle of Rockefeller Center isnt too bad either. The showers in this gym are SUPER CLEAN. Always stocker with Keihls products and all the necessities. The steam room and sauna are sinply the best for relaxing. I got a deep tissue massage at the spa here twice and each massuse was amazing - I felt like a different person when I came out. What can I say, this really is my favorite gym! read more

I love LOVE loveeee this location! SUPER clean, very friendly staff. The gym itself is very clean and nice big layout. Rarely waiting for a machine (this includes the squat rack *wink, wink*). Get areas to stretch after a heart pumping workout. Beyond that, the classes are something EVERY member should take advantage of. Metcon3 (boot camp class) with Eddie Carrington and John Cianca is such a delight and they will push you harder than you will on your own! I never sweat more anywhere else than in those classes. Whipped is also amazing with Lulu Faria and so is ropes and rowers with Luis Weber. The cardio machines are great. Love the treadmills that they have. The 2 types of foam rollers they have (traditional and one with the bumps) are great to utilize and implement in your cool down or warm up. Speaking for the women's locker room. It is very spacious and I rarely wait for a shower. Showers are stocked with Kiehl's shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. All smell and feel great on the skin/hair! Razors, shaving cream, cotton balls/swabs/ gel AND not to mention.... very powerful hair dryers! I have A LOT of hair and it's thick, so being able to dry my hair in under 5-6min is amazing. 2 THUMBS UP! read more

Rock Center Equinox location!! :) I love how there is space at this location! And it is ABOVe ground. Yes, unusual for a NYC location. After the check in desk, there is a comfy seating area with some big comfy chairs/couches. The locker rooms at this location are my favorites. There is sooo much space. There is not only a steam room but also a sauna. This is the first location I've seen a sauna at. They are currently redoing the locker rooms, hopefully adding some more showers but I have no idea. The locker rooms here don't seem too crowded and I go during peak times. Studios/People- pretty much the same as other locations but it is ABOVE ground. So in the main studio, the right side is windowed and you can see light and street traffic. Surprisingly I see a younger crowd than most of the other midtown clubs in the group fitness clubs. I was surprised by this because I thought it would be majority working employees but it seems like they are a lot of students. Same amenities as other equinox locations- There are always trainers walking around who you can ask to show you how to use any machines. They are super friendly. Locker Rooms- always clean, kiehl's products and towels for use. you need to bring a lock for the lockers here.There are also Eucalyptus towels, regular towels, free wifi- all the typical equinox amenities ***Before u make a big commitment to join, make sure u check the gym out. I came in here the other day with a day pass my sister gave me. Right off the bat the person at the front desk was like "Oh...ohhhhh, um well we are closing at 8, you know that right?" She gave me this blank stare like I was an idiot for coming in so late and so I was like "Yea, I know you close at 8"...and she's like, "so you still want to work out?" It was 7:15, plenty of time for me...so i assured her yes i'll be quick. She looked me up in the system and saw my name, checked my ID, made a phone call and did more stuff on the iPad while letting in 3 other people...it was probably 7 mins waiting before she finally told me she couldn't find my name and I was like, "What do you mean? I saw my name it's right there," so then she tilted her iPad so I can't see anything and then she then told me, "Oh yes that was yesterday, but the thing is your pass is not valid anymore because it was issued yesterday and I can't do anything about that. You would have to get another pass." What a bunch of crap, it was not even activated or used yet, because it was Good Friday yesterday and I couldn't work out for religious reasons. Plus I've done the exact same thing multiple times at 2 other Equinox and it works no problem! This one just "does things differently" was her excuse. So then she told me to go to Columbus Circle Equinox which closes at 9 and said my pass will work there. Like wtf? This Rockefeller Equinox is too good for me I guess? She wouldn't even let me use the restroom even after telling her I had to trek far to get there she was already forcefully giving me her index finger pointing to a far outside restroom and moving her neck like a snake speaking with attitude telling me their restrooms were for members only. So then I asked to speak to someone else and talk about membership. She claims there is no one at the moment and they would not be back until Monday! It was a Saturday! So I couldn't even get a membership or talk to anyone else until two days later. Wow! So I just left, its not worth it to be treated like a second class citizen just because you have a pass and its closing time. I didn't even try Columbus Circle because my self-esteem was shot at that point and didn't want to walk or bus all the way there just to get rejected again by this establishment. If you issue a guest pass, honor it! I told my sister to cancel her membership after this incident and she admitted she's been thinking about cancelling for awhile. She never really liked it and she said she will probably NOT miss Equinox. She's actually been using Class Pass NY and been loving it because it gets her more motivated and offers so much more than Equinox. They have thousands of classes in gyms and studios all over NY and they actually want you to come and work out. Such BS this Equinox! read more
