Really cool experience - the sugar mill was pretty exceptional! Walking along the beach with the horses was cool. The horses definitely knew their route and some had their own agenda which made it hard to manage them at times. Cowboy Steve has some impressive dedication and you can see how much he loves making sure each person maximizes their experience. This adventure has been way beyond our expectations. Steve, the hourses' owner, was very kind and polite since the beginning. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Horseback riding in the ocean was a great experience. His crew members are very friendly, so helpful and always making sure everything was going as planned. We absolutely LOVED our experience with Cowboy Steve, Randy, and Jennifer!! Their expert knowledge of the horses' personalities and handling made our trip so enjoyable. They pair us with the horses for our riding experience. There were 7 of us and we all felt like we got taken care of for such a large group! I fell in love with my horse, Galway! Kathryn and Steve made this one of the best rides I've been on when traveling outside my own area and stable! Despite the aftermath of the hurricanes and the islands still without power they were up and running, true to a farm never rests regardless of the weather! Starting with them as people they were amazing, just that genuine couple that loved life, chipper and full of zest and sharing what they love: Horses and the island. They picked me up from the resort I was staying at even with me being the only one for that ride! Amazingly friendly in the most genuine of ways, where they care about who rides with them and want to share that moment and joy with you. The horses were also amazing, Rí Rá was a sweet gent though his name goes with his gait in a fun way! Definitely not what I'm used to as a english pleasure rider but I adore it and know what I need to start working on up here! We got to ride through fields and around a sugar mill and old plantation, then down along the beach and through the water. There was no rush or push either, letting Rí Rá feel his way along and get comfortable with the idea of the water and trust his handlers and rider. It's not only a ride but they shared the history of the island, and the sugar mills on it. These are the types of people and horses I would send my family to, definitely worth it. read more

(Been On Jill's get yelled at all day ride, so forget them) Cowboy Steve and Kathryn were FANTASTIC ! My wife had a Halloween B'day ride with them that was the best experience of her life and they were able to accommodate me, a complete city slicker with no horse experience and my wife who is an experienced cowgirl. My husband and I had a Great time with Steve and his girlfriend Kathryn! They are both very kind and have a very gentle style of teaching/dealing with rides of all levels. They take their time with you to make sure you are safe comfortable and enjoying your time! Tip to the wise: always bring cash and the exact amount! This is definitely an adventure! I went as a beginner and left feeling much more advanced with riding! Steven (I think that was his name) taught me a lot about posture when riding a horse and handling the reigns etc and helped me get over my fear of trotting! My husband and I ended up being the only ones on the tour this particular afternoon but we did get some great photos and it was a lot of fun being able to ride the horses in the water, see sea turtles and even stand on the horses saddles. We would give this 10 stars if we could! My husband and I went on a horseback ride on the beach with Cowboy Steve on our honeymoon in St. Croix. He made it a TOTAL BLAST. Neither of us had ever really ridden a horse before, and he was so patient with us. He taught us the correct form and everything! It was just us and our Irish cowboy pal, and he stopped along the way to show us different plants and fruits on the island, having us taste cashew plants and telling us island stories. When we got to the beach we both did front flips off the back of the horses and rode them into the sunset. We also got to see turtles popping their heads out of the water while we road our mermaid-horses (who knew horses could swim?!). It was seriously a dream. And Steve even took us to our resort afterwards as a courtesy. He was SOOO NICE and had the coolest stories to tell us in the car. Seriously, you won't regret going on this excursion.
