I booked the tour through Viator since we didn't have a car during this trip. Recommended to wear long sleeves that are good for hot weather, mosquitoes spray, face mask, eye protection for the dust and either shoes you don't care for or shoe covers with your shoes and bring water. Campo Rico has so many fun activities to choose from, but we decided on the one-hour horseback ride, and it was such a great choice! When you check in, you hang out in their bar/restaurant area until it's time for your ride, which sets a nice, relaxed vibe. Then they take you over to get your safety gear and a quick lesson before introducing you to your horse. My horse, Sol, was absolutely lovely, sweet, steady, and honestly knew the trail so well that she sometimes led me through shortcuts and picked up the pace right when she needed to. It made the ride even more fun and memorable! The trail itself was beautiful, and the whole experience felt safe and well-run. We went there on a tour bus, one of the stops. The place was amazing offering many activities from ziplines to horseback riding. They had the best Pina colada drinks we had all week. Hacienda Campo Rico When we arrived after booking our reservation for horseback riding, Hacienda Campo Rico wouldn't recognize our reservation since we didn't have our credit card. Even though we had our driver's license which matched the name on the reservation and the name on the credit card we used, Hacienda Campo Rico still wouldn't honor our reservation nor refund our money. We didn't take the tour since we met a couple who claimed just finished with the tour and was completely wet and covered in mud - head to toe. Still braving forward, we received confirmation from one of the employees at the check in area that dirt and splashing is part of fun. We expected some dirt and splashing from the ATV; however, not being drenched in it. We voiced our concerns and pointed out a potential misrepresentation of the service, and asked for a refund. The owner initially argued that being covered in mud is to be expected due to a rainy season, then argued that the guides would ensure we wouldn't be covered in mud. I reject these arguments and let the photo made by owner speak for itself. If you're prepared to get muddy and don't mind that sort of thing, this may be for you. We clearly mind. read more

Booked this excursion while cruising with Carnival. It's nothing...yet EVERYTHING you would expect! I want to give a HUGE SHOUTOUT to our ATV tour guide, Claudia. We normally have fun on our excursions, but this was the best. It was a super hot day. We ended up purchasing shoe covers and face guards per recommendations. ***HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM to save your shoes and your face!!!! It was a wet trail so it made it a bit more fun. This was coming from someone who has never ridden/driven an ATV prior to this. We did single riders. 100/100 would do again and recommend! *Following heads up 1. This was one of the best parts of our trip! Joe was our guide and he made sure we got filthy with mud, and had a great time doing it! I would suggest you wear goggles and not sunglasses, especially if you do the UTV tours. Don't bring anything unnecessary in the UTV with you and don't wear anything you want to be clean lol. Had tons of fun on the horseback ride here. Only my husband and I were there for the tour, so it was like we got our own private tour. Cristian was our guide, and he was awesome. It was interesting to see the grounds, including lots of the animals including deer, parrots, ostriches, lots of ducks and chickens, cows, and wild horses. The big house was really beautiful, and apparently appeared in the movie Black Panther II. The drive is a little bit confusing - GPS will take you to the gate, but then you have to drive up a long, winding road (the guard at the front will tell you which turns you'll need to make). Once you find the parking lot, you'll need to go up the stairs, which are a bit obscured by trees, to find the check in desk. There's a shop that sells souvenirs, and shoe guards if you're doing the ATV tour, since your feet will probably get pretty dirty. Horseback ride was not dirty at all, but I would highly recommend bug spray, and wearing pants. I wore shorts and got lots of bug bites. All in all, a pretty fun ride! read more

Booked our tour online and used Apple Pay as the website accepted it and we are traveling. Due to my friend being sick we had to reschedule our tour 2 days. They acted extremely rude over the phone when we rescheduled. I mean my friend had food poisoning, ATVs were out of the question at that point. When we finally able to make it out there we were told they couldn't accept the Apple Pay as a card. They told us they could refund the money onto the Apple Pay and use a different card but as it's the end of our vacation we do not not have an extra $300 to spend as the refund would not process for a few days. Both women seemed uncaring and unwilling to help. Your website shouldn't accept Apple Pay if you cannot use it for the actual experience. This was the one thing we were really looking forward to and this experience ruined my friend's Birthday. They should be ashamed of themselves as they refused to even refund the money knowing we couldn't pay to go that day and had no way to rebook it. I booked this ride for my birthday, and we booked a one hour horseback ride that ended up being a disappointing 25 minute trail ride and we ended up paying $334+ for 2 people. Though the grounds are lovely, the booking staff was rude, unhelpful and totally ripped us off. There was an issue with our booking of a 2 hour horseback ride scheduled for 3pm, we arrived 10 minutes late due to a hotel issue, they said they could wait. We called them a million times to keep them updated, etc. And when we arrived 5 minutes later they said they left already. Then they made us cancel without a refund of 200$ and to rebook with them for the 4:30pm that day in 1.5h later for $134. So we paid the extra $134 for the 1 hour ride and waited, we were disappointed but understanding we were a bit late - we were just excited to ride and enjoy. However, when they finally collected us at 4:45pm (well after the ride was meant to start at 4:30 and the say to come 30 minutes early) they collected us well after the hour, we got to the horses about 5pm and got off the horse just before 5:25 and the whole ride experience was 25 minutes total. Attached is the Apple watch tracker we used to calculate the ride. We understood we were a bit late but with no refund for a $200+ ride and then only a 25 minute ride for $134 ride was just a complete rip off. When we arrived back to the check in after the experience, all the staff was gone so I couldn't speak with anyone, hence this lovely review. Just be very careful dealing with this company. The grounds are nice but they have no problem ripping you off. read more

If you are planning to attend the atv tours with more than one person they will put a hold on your card for half the amount. They will force you to pay the entire hotel in cash when arriving. They charged my card instead of releasing the charge once arrived as they stated. DO NOT PAY FOR THE 2hr excursion just pay for the one hour excursion. They will only let you ride for an hour. Compared to my last year experience, this time it was garbage. We rode for 45 minutes and stopped for 30 mins due to a chicken being struck by lightening. The trails the guide took were very weak. Overall I'll be doing PR adventures next time. This was a waste of money. read more

SUCH A FUN TIME! Absolutely expect to get dirty, be in direct sun and potentially get bug bites. Would highly recommend wearing shoes that you're 100% ok with getting covered in mud and clothes that you're ok with getting wet and dirty. I wore short sleeves and a crop top and ended up getting some bites on areas where I had exposed skin. You will be wearing a helmet during the ride so a bandana, baseball cap or outdoor hat is great for a head covering. I wear glasses and didn't need the goggles but would definitely recommend either bringing a bandana to cover your mouth while riding or purchasing goggles and a face covering at the shop when you get there. The ATV guide was very no nonsense about the rules and made us feel safe while riding. There were about 6 people in our group and there were a couple of hiccups with drivers and atvs during our ride but definitely got to enjoy our 1 hour ride that we booked. This is a great experience for couples and adults. Wouldn't recommend as much for anyone you wouldn't allow to drive a very powerful, potentially dangerous vehicle. There's also a cute little mojito bar, cafe bar and items for purchase when you check into your ride. Will be coming back to Campo Rico for future rides! read more

Tour details are misleading. Tour is advertised as a 2 hour tour and to arrive 30 minutes prior. Our tour was scheduled at 130. When we arrived just before 1 we completed the required paperwork and then told the tour would start at 145. We loaded up , drove to the end of the driveway and then told to return back because of the weather . We waited about 10 minutes and then headed out again around 2. We toured the property for the next 50 minutes before we were made to return back , again said it was due to weather. Then we were told the tour was over and would receive a 50% refund since the tour ended a few minutes early.. when I asked for clarification I was told the tour was supposed to end at 330. So our 2 hour tour lasted about 50 minutes and then we received a 50% refund when the details state 100 % refund. We offered to do one of their other excursions instead of a refund and were told that was not an option. read more

You want something worth your money, this is it!! We did the ATVs and all I can say is that was a well worth 2 hour ride. Felt like longer honestly. Exploring the land and the woods was amazing. We got stuck in the mud but I didn't mind it at all. I enjoyed it. The mansion was unavailable to see but you can view the outside. Which was fine. Things need to be kept preserved but you can rent it out for parties weddings and so forth. They had exotic animals, birds and everything. Literally. The bar area was good. We had drinks afterwards and stayed probably 4 or 5 hours. Most definitely wear long pants and if you can tolerate long sleeves do that too. The sun was beaming and doing magic that day. I came as an experience rider with horses & Atv's. Merely 1 minute into the excursion Josh and hector decided my friend and I were not able to continue. What could they have seen in 60 seconds that created that assessment? LITERALLY offering no explanation as to why, we were asked to sit and wait while the rest of our group completed the ride. Our group members that did complete the ride said it was "boring and slow for the majority of the ride." I wouldn't recommend anyone trying this company. They have the power to end your ride when ever they dem "necessary" and will refused to offer an explanation or any form of compensation for the inconvenience. Angel at check in was EXTREMELY rude. One of the WORST customer service I have ever experience. My father was sick and could not come so my mom and I just went. She was so rude to begin with and then proceeded to tell us that she could not check us in because the reservation was in my fathers name. She told us to call the tour to change the name on the reservation, and they tried to call her but her freaking phone was busy! So they couldn't even get ahold of her to tell them our reservation name was changed! She refused to give us a refund and when we asked her how to get back to the hotel since we got a bus there, she said "not my problem". We have been to Puerto Rico 3 times and this is the first time we have experienced a just mean, dismissive, and uncaring person. Please consider removing her from check in, she is horrible to talk to and so unhelpful and it is not a good experience for people just trying to enjoy their trip that they spent a lot of money on! Very misleading. On the website, the tour was supposed to be 2 hours; it was more like 1 and a half. The website said we'd see more than we actually did; it was all plantation fields. On top of all that, the horses seemed extremely malnourished! For most (if not all) the horses, you could quite literally see their ribcage and hip bones. I'm glad I did the experience. It was fun to ride a horse. However, I wouldn't do it again. For a park that makes a huge sum of money, its a shame that the horses aren't treated ethically. Our tour guide Dary was amazing! And the ATV was wonderful! However, the negligence of the restaurant is the reason for my review. Myself and a friend do not eat pork due to religious reasons. We asked the cashier, if pork was in the beans we wanted, and his response was "No! Who would put pork in beans???" So we then received the beans and upon eating we discovered pieces of meat. We head back to the cashier to ask was it was and he confidently replies "Ham." We reminded him that we did ask if the beans contain pork and he tried to avoid blame by said "Oh I told them not to put it in." We ask for a refund and he says he has to find the manager because he can't do it. He leaves to talk to an older man and then returns to tell us the manager has left for a day and they can only offer us rice without beans. Totally unprofessional and negligent. Dietary restrictions should be handled with caution. If it was an allergy someone could have gotten seriously hurt. read more
