The best Thai food I've had in years. The only other Thai restaurant I really liked was Lemongrass in the Cleveland Heights area but they closed years ago. None of the other Thai places around have impressed me, but I love this place. I highly recommend the drunken noodles and the fresh rolls. The two or three times I've dined in I've had friendly servers. The only downside is it's a very small place and it might be hard to get a table if they're busy. read more

This place was my go to place for Thai food for over a year mainly for takeout. Food was great. Recently in last couple months the food quality is going down terribly. I still gave them chance for 2-4 times but now it's consistently bad. Last night we had fried rice and curry dishes & fried rice literally smelled bad. You know how your grandma used to make that one meal or recipe that was so delicious that you think about it every year when it's that time of year again? And eventually you became an adult and tried to recreate it, but it never tasted quite as good? So you realize that LOVE and joy must have been her secret ingredients. That is the kind of magic happening in the kitchen of Erawan. You can just tell that whoever cooked it cares about you and the meal. I ordered the Pad Thai (with tofu). Highly recommend it. It's the best I've had around here. Or anywhere actually but I am only about 15 years into my ongoing love of Thai food. I also ordered 2 orders of crunchy spring rolls, one for me and one for my daughter and they were so good that I made the decision to eat my 1/2 PLUS one of hers because she wouldn't know by the time I got it home to her. They were so perfect: crispy but still delicate and light. I would have licked the container of dipping sauce but I was beginning to feel greedy for not having any guilt about the disappearing spring roll. We love Thai food, and have had the pleasure of enjoying very good meals as well as the disappointment of very poor meals at many Thai restaurants around the country. We were excited to learn of Erawan's opening, and were encouraged by the many early, favorable reviews. Whenever we try a new restaurant for the first time, we order a diverse variety of items across the menu (apps, soups, salads, entrees, desserts, etc.) to get a representative sample of the restaurant's offerings. We placed such an order recently with Erawan. (We were disappointed a couple things we wanted to try on the menu were not available when we ordered, so we ordered substitute items in the same category.) Despite the glowing reviews of others, to a person we found everything to be very average. While the quality was above that of Thai dishes sometimes offered by Chinese or Japanese restaurants, it was certainly below the quality of Thai food served at places like Map of Thailand in Asia Town or Bangkok Thai in Lyndhurst. If it weren't so close to home, it's unlikely we'd give it another shot. However, because it is, we likely will. read more

Service the first time was acceptable. Second and last visit was not acceptable!!! My husband and I were the first to enter and to be seated. We were asked did we want to sit at the bar and we said no a table. We asked for a larger table and was told because the restaurant is small they save the larger tables for larger groups. We said okay and sat at the table for two. We were the first in the door and the first to be seated. Five people came in after us: two sat at the table for two and three at the table for four. We were the first to be given water by the waitress. Seven more came in: two sat at the table for four; three at the table of four and two at the table for four. We were the third table to be waited on and the fourth table to receive our order. Every person that was served before us were Caucasian or light complected (Spanish?). My husband and I are of darker skin. My husband asked why was our food taking so long? The response was: "they were waiting for us to finish our appetizer's (tofu and spring roll)." First and foremost the three tables served before us had not finished their "meat" appetizers as they were being served their main course. A fourth table arrived receiving their meals and appetizers when we received ours. No, we will not come back and most definitely tell everyone we know! We enjoy eating at different restaurants two or three times to get a feel of the atmosphere. read more

I called and the owner was incredibly unprofessional and seemed too good for my business. The food is so good here! My favorite restaurant in Ohio so far! They are able to make their food the spiciest while maintaining all of the flavor. To top it off, the customer service is amazing.
