Met a friend for dinner last night, they were busy glad I made a reservation. When you walk in it smells amazing and that's because the food is amazing. That said the service was not great. Our appetizer came as desert. We got our own menus when we realized we were going to have 1 shot at ordering. We actually grabbed a guy who was a sushi chef just watering the tables to help. Food came out fast but the apps came when we were already full. I ordered the chicken and lettuce wraps to go for today I just opened it and no lettuce. After having had several great experiences at their sister restaurant in Pinecrest, I decided to give this Aurora location a try. The dining room is much larger and the bar is fairly large, but parking is limited and I was forced to park in the pizza shop lot next door. This restaurant has a different feel than its counterpart but not in a bad way. The ambiance is a little less trendy but it is also less noisy and great for larger groups. There were two servers and one bar tender then night we came. Only the bar tender seemed to speak enough English to take our order but the other servers did check on us and try to assist when they could. The menu is exactly try the same as Pinecrest but they also have a huge sushi menu where they give you a marker to check all the rolls you wish to try. We skipped sushi tonight and opted for the Chicken Lettuce Wraps and the Sand Pebbles Pad Thai. Although we waited for about 15 minutes before someone came to take our order, our food came out in about 10 minutes and it was delicious! Both dishes were outstanding. The lettuce wraps are big enough to eat alone as an entree and the pad Thai was enormous. They loaded it with the most light and crispy chicken I've ever tasted - we had enough to take two big pieces home with us. The shrimp on the pad Thai were also large and flavorful. I have been to this restaurant chain 4 times now and have yet to get a bad dish or bad service. I can't say enough about these guys - if you like Asian food (the menu includes Thai, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Singapore, etc) and are looking for good value for your money and a great meal, check out either location. Something's not quite right. I've had good experiences here in the past but the quality has gotten worse while the prices have increased. Was only able to stomach a few bites of the pad thai. It tastes nothing like a normal pad thai and has thin overcooked noodles with a gelatanous brown sauce that was actually kind of gross. For $20, it felt wasted. I don't expect to come here again. The restaurant itself is nice. Lots of natural light and seating options. Want to give two stars because of positive prior experiences, but really can't recommend given the dissapointing food. read more

Nice place near Aurora Farms that had good Yelp reviews. Sushi, Thai and Vietnamese food. We had a few sushi rolls which were fresh, large and nicely displayed, squid app which was mostly rings and pad Thai with extra shrimp. Pad Thai was very good, especially with the extra shrimp. All were good, but service was a little slow. Seems like the wait staff may also be the sushi chef. A little on the pricy side - $60, but would prefer to pay more for good food. Between The Sand Pebbles and Erawan, Aurora suddenly has two outstanding Thai Restaurants to choose from. Fortunately, they are both VERY good and also very different. The Sand Pebbles has an extensive selection of dishes representing most areas of SE Asia (Laos and Indonesia included). Ka Pao Beef from Thailand (spicy, garlicky, basil) dish is excellent. Spring rolls, salt and pepper squid, edamame, and sushi appetizers were all freshly made and delicious. Highly recommend trying The Sand Pebbles. Convenient location on 82 just East Note to Sand Pebbles. We dined in tonight and did not have a very good experience. I'm mentioning this in the spirit of feedback so you can be aware and improve things. The service was not good. Dirty water glass brought to the table, error with the sushi order (thank you for not including that on the bill), Por Pia were cold, and water glasses were not refilled at all. The Ka Pao Beef was nowhere near the great dish I ate last week. The beef was tough and the seasoning didn't tase anything like last week's dish. The scallop dish came out with two scallops that were not cooked through and were still refrigerator level cold. The hostess and waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable. The presentation of each dish was immaculate. My friend is not one to ever finish her food but she cleaned up her sushi in record time! The patio was open for service, and looked awesome. Both times I've been, we ate sushi / rolls, and I'm really careful where I will Order raw fish from!! What a wonderful find! The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. They have a uniquely wide variety of Asian cultures represented in their menu. I've eaten here three times, and every time was blown away by the authenticity and pride poured into the quality of each dish. I especially loved the Pad Thai, which despite not being on their normal gluten free menu, they prepared gluten free for me! The dining room is very bright and overlooks a pond (and unfortunately a parking lot. ). I ordered the lettuce wraps, Thai beef salad and Basil Rice with chicken. All dishes were so flavorful!
